June 8, 2003 - This is one of the rare images that came out well in the past three years or so. The characters are from the game Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind for the PC (and also XBox, I'm told). They are supposed to be Almalexia, Nerevar, Vivec and Sotha Sil, in the distant past of Morrowind. I wasn't sure what the Dunmer were supposed to look like back then, and wanted to make them silver to counter the Atmer's gold, but they came out a bit blue instead. I made Almalexia a sort of sleezy priestess, as that's how I see her in the story. Vivec is of course the self-involved warrior-poet. Nerevar was to be a sort of tribal warrior in light armor. His armor came out looking more mix-and-match than I originally intended. I ran out of room to draw Sotha Sil, and I wasn't clear in my mind how he should look, other than generic old wizard guy, so I made him like the Black Mage from Final Fantasy.

Drawn in pencil and mechanical pencil on sketchbook paper in May. Scanned and cleaned in some random program that came with my scanner. Colored with Wacom Graphire tablet in Paint Shop Pro 6.
