Yes, it is April 1st.. also known as April Fools Day. I hate April Fools Day. You can really tell who the 'fools' are, and they're not always the people who say 'what?' before someone screams 'april fools!' at them...

April 1st... the day I try not to leave my home (more so than usual), or speak to anyone, unless I know for certain that they are not card-carrying morons. I have had people seem fine, but then they do something so stupid... like saying some stupid piece of fake news or trivia, and either me or someone else says 'huh?', thinking that it sounds kind of.. dumb.. a stupidity that has never come out of this person's mouth before April 1st. Then the stupid grin of malice that comes over their face a second after we've said 'huh?' is followed by a screech of 'April Fools!'. I carefully refrain from hitting them, as I don't feel like going to jail over someone else's stupidity. However, I never speak to the moron ever again. And on April 1st, I keep to myself.

But, morons are everywhere. Everyone sooner or later comes to accept, and then to ignore,  that the internet is mostly a cesspool of stupid, with a few rare gems of tolerability (much like life, actually..). Last night, as I was checking around the pages I have bookmarked, I was briefly confused by a change in one page. It had been a shrine to some anime character or another, and now was apparently a shrine to some other character.. now I hadn't been on that page in a while, and the person had already, in my mind, proven themselves to be stupid, so it wasn't that unusual that they may have made this page in all seriousness.. then I noticed the 'April Fools!', and remembered that that day was starting... I decided not to look at that person's page again... It's not too much of a change, however, as I had already reduced my viewing of this page, due to the perceived stupidity of the owner. But that's something for another rant... For today, I'm nervous of going to any of the pages I like. A lot of them are image databases and such, and I can't standlook at any site I find to be stupid... it drains me, and pisses me off.  If one of them has some stupid April Fools Day thing, I wouldn't be willing to look at it ever again... .

So, I can't go outside, I have to be careful of who I call or email, and I am nervous of looking at my favorite page... over one day, which gives people permission to act like morons, trying to one-up each other, somehow thinking this proves themselves very clever.
