Chapter Six

~*~

Paris, France

Annabelle LeDeath started at the letter in her hand and burst into tears. Her husband Jacques looked up surprised at the sobs coming from his wife and glanced up from the book he was studying.

"Anna darling what is matter?" he asked concerned handing her his handkerchief.

Anna wiped her eyes with the offered cloth and handed her husband the letter. Jacques after a confused look at his wife who was crying softly into her hands read the letter.

Dear Mrs. LeDeath,

We are sorry to inform you of your sister Kathryn Boyle's death. Mrs. Boyle and her family were found dead at the family's estate. Their death was very mysterious, perhaps even a new type of disease. They all has twin puncture marks at the base of their neck, and they seemed to be drained of their blood. Mrs. Boyle's entire family was dead, except for her second eldest child, Angelus, whom we cannot locate. We fear for him madam, and hope he got away from those who did his family harm. We have taken care of the burial for your family they are all at the crypt in Boyle family cemetery. We are so terribly sorry to inform your sister's death, but you were the only family the Boyle's have alive other than Angelus. Our deepest regrets madam.

Sincerely,
Thomas Payne
Undertaker of the Boyle estate

Jacques placed the letter down and put a comforting arm around his wife who had calmed down by now.

"Jacques, do you think they died of a mysterious disease or do you think it might have been Vampyrs?" She asked

"I don't know love, I don't know." Jacques said in deep thought, "Maybe we can go to Galway and see the bodies since they have not been buried yet."

All right, I shall have our bags packed, and a carriage prepared immediately to leave for Galway. Annabelle said reaching for a small bell and summoning a servant with it.

I shall also bring my books on Vam......... Jacques stopped when he saw an elderly, grandmother sort of maid enter.

Susan, Mr. LeDeath and I are planning a trip to Galway, Ireland immediately, please have our bags packed and a carriage ready to leave in an hour or so. Annabelle ordered briskly.

Yes madam, I shall have Charles bring the carriage around, and I will have yours and the masters' bags packed in less than hour Susan said leaving the study.

Jacques turns to the door and makes sure it is closed and that they're won't be any interruptions. He walks over to Annabelle.

As I was saying, I shall bring my books on Vampyrs, and on restoring souls or something of the sort that shall lend them some humanity in case they have been turned into Vampyrs themselves. Jacques said walking over to a secret passage on his bookshelf. He pulled the lever and walked over to the hidden bookshelf filled with occult books, some on spells, others that fill childhood nightmares such as Werewolves, Dark Fairies, Drows, Vampires, and other creatures of terror.

Annabelle picked up a leather bag from the corner of the desk and walked up beside her husband. Silently Jacques took the bag from her hand and started filling it with books, mostly books on Vampires, as Jacques was about to close the bag Annabelle placed a book in there herself. Restoration of the Dead.

Annabelle, please, don't do this, you're only harming yourself by allowing such fantasies, for all you know Kathryn and the family might have died of some disease brought back from the Crusades. Jacques said, worriedly.

Jacques, I know my sister, and I know her husband, they would never let a disease hurt them or their family, Kathryn has never been sick a day in her life, and you know perfectly well neither have any of the children! Annabelle cried out nearly in

tear.Hush, darling, hush, I'm sure you're right, but we mustn't get our hopes high. You know I care for the Kathryn, Johnathan, and the children dearly they're my only family other than you. I especially care for the children as my own, I would do anything for them but please love, don't get your hopes up. Jacques said while soothingly stroking her hair.

Annabelle straitened up as a knock came on the door. Come in please she said, as all signs of tears leaving her face, and Jacques hurriedly closed the passage to the secret bookshelf.

Susan entered the room she had silver tea set in her hands, which she sets down on a table by the window. Susan begins pouring tea onto the matching silver cups, it's very obvious she has done this for the LeDeaths many times.

The bags are all packed, and the carriage is nearly ready, all that is left is to load the bags on the carriage and you may than leave for your trip. I thought you might want some tea while you wait, you'll want to be refreshed before you leave now don't you? Susan said leaving the room and closing the door behind

her.Jacques sipped his tea, and paced around the room. Well I suppose we could try to awaken them, but they can't stay in Ireland, everyone knows that they're dead, remember luv, they are very prominent in the society, and people might notice if they start walking around.

Annabelle smiled like a child on Christmas when she heard Jacques consider waking Kathryn and the family.

They shall move to France, or maybe England, but no Johnathan hates England, and the Goddess knows I myself feel the same way. Well we shall think of someplace for them to go, or actually they will, we can't very well be making their decision for them now can we? Annabelle rambled excitedly as Jacques sipped his tea watching her with an amused smile.

Well, we shall have to ask them that if we awaken them, or even if they decided they would like to stay alive again.

Annabelle smiled sadly. I know I know, but we must at least try, shouldn't we, the least we can do is ask them after we awaken them!

Jacques helped Annabelle up and pulled her out the door, come on dear the carriage must be ready by now, we can leave now, we will continue this conservation later!
