Prologue

Buffy threw a stake at Angel as she side kicked a vampire in the head. Angel caught the stake effortlessly and threw it into the vampire's back. "Okay, we fulfilled our quota for tonight. One vamp slayed." Angel gave her a look that said not to count on it. "I know. But there doesn't look like there's going to. . ." Buffy trailed off as she saw about nine vampires head her way. "Only nine of you? We can handle this. Right Angel?"

Angel looked at her preparing to get ready to run. "Uh. . .this would be a good time to run."

Buffy threw up her arms and stepped closer to the vamps. "No, no lets do this now. I don't want to do this tomorrow."

The vampires laughed and advanced toward the two. Two came after Buffy holding her by her arms. She smoothly extended both of her legs and kicked them in the chest. Staking one of them, the other one ran her down to the ground. She tried to wiggle her way out of it but he held her tight. Rapping her legs around his lower back, she pushed all of her upper weight up to reverse the order.

Meanwhile, Angel was surrounded by three vamps. Two on the side of him, and one in front. He stepped back then grabbed there heads bashing them together. Pulling out two stakes, he staked them both while round housing the vampire in front of him. *Okay, there's five less and they keep getting more cockier. Now we should run.* Buffy rushed over to Angel. The rest of the vampire surrounded them, leaving them in the middle of the circle. Angel was about to grab Buffy and run, but a girl came out of nowhere and did a front flip, a double cart wheel and spun kick a vampire in his back. Buffy only stared for a moment and saw this as a chance to take them out. With three people on their side they could get the job done easily.

Only but one was left and the mysterious girl had him. The vampire held her arms down and with skill and no effort, she kicked her legs up in the air and fell backwards landing on her feet causing the vampire to the fall back. He quickly got up but not quick enough for her. She took his neck and snapped it back pushing the stake through his throat then swiftly taking it out and plunged the stake in his heart.

The vampire looked at the girl with eyes wide in fear. And before turning into dust screamed out, "Victoria!"

The girl wiped the dust off of her pants and smiled. "Good-bye dear Athos."

Buffy and Angel ran over to her. Angel had known that name. Suddenly, a hundred foolish memories filled his head. But it was a name. And there had to be at least five hundred-thousand other girls with the name. It couldn't be her. She was probably dead. Still, he couldn't help but think about the name. Quickly, he pushed it out of his mind. It hurt to much to remember.

Coolly, the girl met them halfway into the light. Angel looked at her face and almost had a heart attack as the girl said, "Hi Angel. Good to see you again, brother."

Angel stared at her for a moment and then whispered hoarsely, "Victoria?" She ran to her brother and hugged him tightly not wanting to let go. Dazed, he closed his eyes tightly and forced the bitter pain rising in his throat to stay down. He grasped her in a hug that could crush even the strongest. "Victoria. . ." he trailed off. It was one of the sweetest names he had ever known, he decided.

Buffy just stared in shock. "Lets go to the library."
