FINAL FANTASY VII:

Return of Sephiroth PART 6
The Supernova is Summoned

By: Dave (Cloud)

Cid and Joe looked out from their jets, only to see a swarm of deadly missiles heading for them. "We're gonna get hit!" Cid screamed. "Listen pilots," the squad leader announced, "we're gonna swoop under these missiles. Follow me carefully. I don't want anybody getting killed." "We're right behind you," Joe said as he followed the squad leader. Cid and the other two pilots followed at close range. The jets swooped down almost to ground level, making trees and grass shake. The people on the highway leading into Paris got out of their cars and watched as the five brave pilots zoomed by. The missiles raced right over the jets and headed right for Paris. "General!" one of his majors shouted, " Highly condensed energy is heading right for Paris!" "When will they hit?" the general asked. "Five minutes!" the major replied. "Warn the city," the general ordered. The major went over to the phone and called the mayor. "We'll leave immeditly!" the mayor said as he hung up the phone. He turns to his advisors. "The base said that Weapon has fired energy missiles and will hit this city in five minutes." The mayor, his bodyguards and his advisors got into a limo and drove off toward the edge of the city. "Have any of da' jets been taken out?" Barret asked the major. "No sir, all five are still in the air." the major answered. Tifa came in with a worried look on her face. "Are the fighters still in the air?" she asked Barret with a concerned voice. "Don't worry Tifa," he replied in a calm voice, "all five are still in the air. How's Cloud?" "I can't tell," Tifa said, "he still isn't conscious yet." "You better get back with him," Barret said, "Weapon's missiles will hit any minute now." Tifa nodded in agreement as she ran back to the room Cloud was in. She held him close. "Don't worry, Cloud," she said to him quietly, "nothing will happen to us I promise." She kissed his forehead as she sat back in her chair, praying for Cloud, Cid, the rest of AVALANCHE and Paris, and also for herself.

Cloud continued to walk around the dark, quiet void in his mind. He walked quietly around with his Ultima Weapon drawn ready to fight. "I know you're still here Sephiroth!" Cloud shouted, "Come out and fight!" There was no answer. Just peace and quiet. Cloud looked around and shouted again. "Show yourself Sephiroth! If your as strong as you say you are, why haven't finished me yet?" Again no response. Then Cloud heard a faint, evil laugh. He turned around, only to see nothing. A bright light suddenly flashed in his eyes as the sweet voice of a young women spoke. "Cloud," the voice said, "Cloud why did you send me to my doom?" "Yuffie?" he said in surprise, "where are you?" The figure of Yuffie appeared in front of him. "Why Cloud did you send me to my doom?" she asked. "What are you talking about, Yuffie?" he asked. "You made me go on the attack chopper when I could've stayed on the ground and help you fight." she answered. "I only did that because I was concerned for your safety," he answered, "I was trying to protect you!" "No you weren't Cloud," she said, " you knew Ruby Weapon would destory the chopper, so you forced me onto it to get rid of me!" "Why would I do that, Yuffie, huh WHY?" he demanded. "You thought I would get in the way of your heroism and your plan to defeat Sephiroth," she said back. "Stop this Sephiroth!" Cloud shouted as he fell to the ground holding his ears. "It's your fault Cloud," another voice said, "It's your fault I was crushed." Cait Sith emerged from the light. "There was no way to save you Cait," Cloud said, "the building came down too quickly!" "No excuses Cloud," Cait Sith said, "you failed my freind and I!" "Tequila man," Cait's freind said as he appeared behind Cait Sith. "No stop! I tried to save you all!" Cloud shouted, "Sephiroth! Stop this!" Suddenly all of the blaming and hatred turned into Sephiroth's evil, vicious laugh. "Or did you?" he asked Cloud as he appeared behind him. "You mother f**kin' worthless excuse of anything created!" Cloud shouted, "I will finish you right now! Omnislash!" Cloud's voice echoed through the darkness as he charged at Sephiroth. Sephiroth dodged the attack. "Hahahaha!" he laughed, "I already told you those moves of yours won't work! You see, I've learned to counter them like I already said." Cloud turned around, ready to charge once more. "I'll find a way to get rid of you!" Cloud shouted. Sephiroth just stood there and taunted him. "There is NO way of getting rid of me!" he shouted with joy, "I've become immortal!" Cloud just stood there, staring right into Sephiroth's mako green eyes.

"30 seconds, General!" the major shouted as he looked on his radar. "Get ready for impact!" the general shouted. Within seconds, the first wave of missiles started to crash into Paris. Missiles hit office buildings and apartments with full force, blowing them to pieces or going right through them and into more buildings. People got out of their cars and ran for their lives as missiles rain down like a fierce meteor shower. The missiles' impacts threw cars around and into other buildings. Glass and bricks fell on the helpless citizens below. Missiles zoomed right over the Effiel Tower fast enough to shake it. Several missiles crashed right through Notre' Dame and into a parking lot close to it, throwing cars and asphalt everywhere. Missiles began crashing near the base. "Tifa!" Red shouted," We have to get out of here NOW!" "Okay! Get Reeve, Vincent or Barret in here to help me get Cloud into his strecher!" she shouted. Red ran out of the room and in seconds, Reeve came in and helped get Cloud into his strecher. "Don't worry Cloud," Tifa said, "We're not going to die!" "Hurry Tifa," Vincent said as he helped push the stretcher into an ambulance. "You! Drive!" the general shouted to Barret. "Give me the keys," Barret said as he got into the driver's seat. The general threw the keys to Barret. Barret caught them and started the ignition but with bad results. "General!" Barret shouted, "I think the engine's dead!" "Let me try!" the major said as he tried to turn on the ignition. "He's right General! The engine is dead!" "The...the..the engine's dea...dea...dead?" Red asked in a fearful voice. "I'm afraid so," the general replied, "Alrigth we'll have to make a run for it!" The crew and the general got out. Vincent helped Tifa pull the strecther with Cloud in it. "Head for those bunkers!" the general shouted. As they ran, a missile slammed into the base. "Jesus Christ!" Red shouted. The PHS started to ring. "Hello?" Reeve asked. "Reeve, its Cid." "Are you all right?" Reeve asked. "Just fine but I have disturbing news," Cid answered. "What?" Reeve asked. "There are people stranded on that big metal tower and there's a missile heading right for them!" "Shit!" Reeve shouted. The general heard him. "What's wrong?" he asked. "They are people stranded on the Effiel Tower and there's a missile heading right for them!" Reeve said in a panicked voice. As Reeve said this a missile slammed into the middle of the Effiel Tower, going right through it and smashing into the ground and anything in it's path. AVALANCHE and the general could only watch as the Effiel Tower broke in half and fell on a helpless crowd below. Pieces of metal flew through the air and hit people and cars on the ground. The missile shower soon ended. The crew looked around, only to see the once beautiful city of Paris now lying in ruins.

The five fighter jets gained altitude and were ready to fire on Weapon. "Okay crew," the squad leader said, "Fire your missiles on my order." Cid locked two missiles on Weapon and was ready to fire. "So this is how it works in this time," he said as he held the stick. "Ready? FIRE!" the squad leader said. The five jets fired two missiles each. "Look at those puppies go!" Cid exclaimed. "Don't get so excited, Cid," Joe said. "I've never seen missiles go like that before!" Cid shouted. "Oh yeah I forgot," Joe said. The missiles hit Weapon with deadly accuracy. Several missiles impacted on Weapon's left energy missile shooter. Two more missiles hit Weapon in the arms, one on each arm while the other two hit his chest. The Weapon screamed in pain as the five jets circle around and get ready to fire. "Missiles locked on," Joe said. "Same here," Cid replied. "Okay men fire more missiles!" the squad leader shouted as the jets fire more of their missiles. The missiles, again, hit their mark. Eight missiles hit him in his armored back while two hit him in the back of his fragile head. Diamond Weapon was knocked unconscious as he fell to the ground with an earth shattering crash. "Yeah!" Cid shouted, "The fifth Weapon's been defeated!" "We rule!" Joe shouted. The good news reached the team. "Good work, guys!" the general exclaimed, "You will get an award for this! Return to base at once." The five pilots cheered as they flew their jets back toward Paris. "Take that you son of a b***h Weapon!" Cid shouted. Cid looked back toward the Weapon and saw what he wished he didn't. "Oh shit!" he shouted. "What is it Cid?" Joe asked. "Look behind you!" Cid exclaimed. Joe took a look behind him. "It can't be!" he shouted. "Guys what's going on?" the general asked through the PHS. "General, your never gonna believe this," Cid said with an angry voice.

Cloud continued to stare evily at Sephiroth. "Why don't you just admit defeat puppet?" Sephiroth asked. "I'll never admit defeat to an @$$hole like you!" Cloud shouted. "Have it your way," Sephiroth said, "but you'll be sorry you didn't!" "Whatta you gonna do, Sephiroth?" Cloud asked, "you've done enough already!" "There is still one more part of my master plan to be accomplished," Sephiroth explained, "and that is to summon my Supernova! Hahahahahahahahaha!" "Forget it Sephiroth!" Cloud shouted, "You need the Black Materia to do that and materia doesn't work in this time period!" "Wrong again, puppet!" Sephiroth said laughing, "The Black Materia is to summon Meteor, not the Supernova. All I need to do is focus my power and create the Supernova! Hahahahahahahahahahahah! Now if you'll excuse me, I must put my final part of the plan into action! Mwahahahahahah! Wake up!" Cloud screamed as he sat up in the strecher. "It's okay Cloud! It's okay!" Tifa said as she held him in her arms. Cloud finally caught his breath and began to speak. "I know.... what Sephiroth .... is.... planning to do," "What?" Tifa asked. Cloud began to speak normally again. "He's gonna summon his Supernova, Tifa!" Tifa gasped in shock as she began to have memories of when the One Winged Angel last summoned it. The way it wiped out Pluto, Saturn's rings and Jupiter, the way it hit the sun with all it's might, causing it to enlarge engulfing Mercury and Venus and almost burned the earth up. "Tifa are you okay?" Cloud asked in a worried voice. "Uh....what? Oh yeah I was just thinking," Tifa replied. "Tifa, prepare AVALANCHE with bad news," Cloud said in a sad and hopeless voice. Tifa looked down and began to cry.

Cid, Joe and the other three pilots stared in shock at the site they saw. "Mr. Highwind what do you see?" the general demanded. "The Weapon is getting back up to his feet," Cid reported. "You said yourself you guys took him out," the general yelled. "We didn't know for sure!" Cid snapped, "now if you don't mind, we have to finish what we came here to do!" Cid hangs up the PHS. "All right team," the squad leader said, "we're turning back to finish him off once and for all!" The pilots agreed as the jets turned around and headed back towards Weapon. "Okay pilots we don't have many missiles left so make these shots count." the squad leader said. The five jets locked on to the rampaging Weapon with their deadly heat seeking missiles. "Prepare to fire on my mark," the squad leader ordered. As the jets were prepared to fire, the Diamond Weapon prepared a little surprise of its own. It began charging up it's Diamond Flash attack. "F**k!" Cid shouted as he saw Weapon charging up, "Everyone turn back now!" "Why what's wrong?" asked Joe. "It's charging up it's Diamond Flash attack!" "We can take him out before he fires it!" the squad leader responded. "We don't have time!" Cid shouted, "It takes about five seconds for him to charge it up and fire it!" When the other pilots heard this they immeditly turned around and began heading back for the ruined base. "You all are a bunch of chickens!" the squad leader shouted, "All you care about is your own @$$s!" "We also care for yours bucko!" Cid shouted, "now pilot. turn back now!" It was too late though. Weapon charged up it's Diamond Flash and fired it. "AHHHHHH!" the squad leader shouted as the flash destoryed his jet. Diamond Weapon then aimed for the other jets. "F**k!" Joe shouted, "He's going to try to take us down!" The remainder four jets flew as fast as their engines would take them. Weapon aimed it's Diamond Flash at the four jets, taking two out instintly. "Joe are you there?" Cid asked in a worried voice. "I'm still in one piece," Joe answered, "but if we don't keep moving we'll be dead as well!" Cid and Joe flew as fast as possible. Weapon fired one last time, destorying the left wing on Cid's jet. "Shit! I'm going down! I'm going down!" he cried. "CID!!!!" Joe shouted as he saw Cid's fighter go down. "Oh f**k! What am I going to do?" Cid asked himself. Suddenly Cid saw the eject button. "I hope this works!" he said as he pushed it. Cid ejected from his fighter just as it crashed into the hard, rocky ground. "This can't be real!" Joe shouted in shock. "Joe you there?" Cid asked. "Cid! You made it!" Joe shouted. "Of course I made it!" Cid shouted, "When you get back to base have someone come rescue me!" "No prob, Bob!" Joe said. However, Diamond Weapon wasn't about to let Joe go. He prepared to fire another blast of his Diamond Flash. "Joe move it! Weapon's about to fire another shot!" Cid exclaimed. "This is NOT my day!" Joe shouted. Cid looked over at Weapon who was charging up. He knew what he had to do. "Joe," Cid said, "I'll distract him while you go to base and get help!" "Are you out of your f**kin' mind?!" Joe asked. "Just trust me on this one, I'll be alright now GO!" Joe hesistated a bit but then decided to do what Cid said. "Hey you f**kin' Weapon! Over here!" Cid shouted. Weapon wasn't paying attention. "I said I'm over here you stupid f**k!" Cid shouted as he threw his precious Venus Gospel at Weapon. The Venus Gospel stabbed Weapon in the leg, making Weapon roar in pain. The Weapon spotted Cid and began moving toward him.

AVALANCHE gathered in the safety bunker to hear what Cloud had to say. "I have bad news," he said as he laid in his bed, "I know what Sephiroth is planning to do. He's planning to summon his ultimate summon, the Supernova. If we don't stop him, Earth will be finished for sure." The whole team stood there speechless. "Where is he now?" Vincent asked in his usual cold voice. "He's still in the city because I can feel his presence," Cloud answered. The general barged in a few seconds later. "Your friend, Joe has just landed," he announced. "Wait what about Cid?" Tifa asked. The general paused for a moment. "Mr. Highwind.....never came back," he said in a depressed voice. "He's dead!" Tifa shouted as she started to cry. Barret came over to her and put his hand over her shoulder. "He died defending the planet," Barret said as he started to cry. Red stood there in shock. A small tear rolled down his red face as he closed his eyes and walked away. Joe came in to greet his friends. He saw them all crying. "Why are you guys crying?" he asked. Tifa charged at him and shouted, "YOU KNOW WHY! CID'S DEAD!" Joe looked at her with a comforting look. 'Cid isn't dead.....yet," Joe said. "Whatta ya mean "yet"?" Barret demanded as he stomped up to Joe. "Cid distracted Weapon while I escaped. My fighter was the only one that survived." "If yours is the only one that survived, then how can Cid be alive?" Red asked. Joe gave him a stupid look. "In this time preiod, planes and jets have an eject system so if your in trouble or you're starting to crash or some other emergency you can pull something or push a button that will eject you out of the plane. That's what Cid did." The team was once again filled with hope. "But we have to hurry," Joe said, "we need to get him outta there and fast!" Cloud got up from the bed, "I'm going to help Cid defeat Weapon," he said. "No Cloud!" Tifa snapped, "You haven't fully recovered yet! You need your rest and I'm gonna make sure you get it!" "I'm fine Tifa," Cloud said in a soft voice, "Now, I have to help Cid. Don't worry I'll be alright." Tifa sighed. Once Cloud made up his mind there was no changing it. Tifa agreed as she hug Cloud. "Be careful," she said. "I promise I will," Cloud said back. "Mr. Strife, I'm General William Sanders of the French Air Force," the general said as he shook Cloud's hand. "Nice to meet you, General," Cloud said. "This way sir," the general said as he lead him toward the hanger. "I have a pilot ready to fly you to Cid's position," the general said, "if you want you can take another person with you." Cloud turned toward his friends. "Barret come with me!" he shouted. Barret agreed and joined Cloud as they both headed for the hanger with the general. Suddenly a bright light flashed in their eyes. Cloud, Barret and the general ducked and cover their eyes. The light slowly faded away and Cloud, Barret and the general got up. "What the hell was that?" Barret asked. They heard a familiar, evil laugh. "Up here you fools!" Sephiroth shouted to the trio. The three looked up. "Sephiroth!" Cloud shouted. "Hahahahahaha! I would just want you guys to know that you're too late to stop me!" Sephiroth shouted at them. "What do you mean?" Cloud asked. Sephiroth floated to the ground and transformed back into his human form. "I've already put in motion the end of this planet!" he shouted with joy. "You didn't!" Cloud shouted back. "Oh but I did," Sephiroth replied, "I've already summoned the Supernova! Hahahahahahahaha! In 7 hours Earth will be eliminated and I shall rule all of time! Hahahahahahahaha!" Sephiroth once again transformed into his One Winged Angel form and flew off, laughing his evil head off. Cloud fell to the ground on his knees. "We're too late," Cloud said. He looked toward the general. "General, alert the rest of the team and the world. Prepare them for bad news." The general nodded. Cloud sheded some tears. He thought of his kids, his beautiful wife, his caring friends and his corporation. In 7 hours they'll all be wiped out, he thought sadly.

The TV announcer came on. "We're getting reports that the attempt to stop Sephiroth was a massive failure. He has summoned his comet called the Supernova." Another reporter in London started to talk. "According to NASA, the Supernova will reach the edge of the Solar System in 5 hours. After entering it, it'll crash into Earth two hours later."

AVALANCHE sat in the bunker crying and thinking of their loved ones. "Cloud," the general said, "we need to get Cid." Cloud turned toward the general and nodded. Cloud and Barret got into a small rescue plane. The plane took off within a matter if minutes. Barret sat there, tears streaming from his eyes as he thought of his daughter, Marlene, and his hometown of Corel and all his friends living there. He turned to Cloud. "Are you sure there's nothing that can stop the Supernova?" Cloud responded, "There's not enough time. It's coming too fast." Barret turned back to the window and looked at the ruined city of Paris. Cloud sat in his chair with his hands folded and in prayer. Suddenly, he heard a familiar voice. "Don't lose hope, Cloud," the voice said, "there is a way." "How?" Cloud asked. "I'll tell you if you look behind you," the voice replied. Cloud looked behind him and saw nothing. "Who are you?" he demanded. "I'll give you a hint," the voice answered, "Smell this." A hand reached over Cloud's shoulder and dropped a flower on him. Cloud picked it up and suddenly became startled. "It couldn't be," he said to himself. He turned around and froze in fear. There sitting behind him was Aeris. "You... your.... alive!" he shouted. "Actually my physical body is dead but my spirit form, as you she here, is still alive and well." Barret turned around to see who Cloud was talking to and screamed. "AHHHH!" the pilot shouted at him, "don't scream like that again!" "Sorry," Barret said. "Hi Barret, miss me?" she asked. "Your alive!" Barret shouted. "This is my spirit form," Aeris explained. Barret seemed to understand. Cloud looked at her, "You said there was something that can stop the Supernova?" he asked her. She nodded in agreement,"Yes there is. I have called a leigion of angels to come down and hold off the Supernova. But, you must think of a way to destroy it." "You're an angel right? So how come you can't do it?" Barret asked. Aeris simply explained it, "We need all of our power to hold off the Supernova. We can't afford to spare even one angel to take care of it." "But Aeris," Cloud said, "Nothing on this planet can take out that thing!" "Your wrong," she replied, "there IS one thing that can destroy it." "What?" asked Barret. "Shinra's doomsday missile might be big enough to blow it to pieces if it explodes in the inside of it," Aeris said. "Of course!" Cloud replied, "But we don't know where it's located." "Reeve knows so ask him," Aeris said smiling, "Oh and I have another surprise for you. Look in your sword." Cloud pulled out his powerful Ultima Weapon and took a piece of materia out. "It's glowing!" Cloud shouted, "which means our materis wotks again!" "You'll need it to fight Sephiroth," Aeris explained. "Thanks Aeris," Cloud said, "thanks to you we might be able to save this planet after all!" Aeris just blushed as she held Cloud's hand. The pilot turned around and asked Cloud a question. "Who's this Aeris your talking about?" he asked. Cloud turned around to introduce Aeris to the pilot but she already vanished. Cloud turned around and answered the pilot, "She was a dear friend of ours that was killed by Sephiroth seven years ago...I mean in the far future." The pilot felt sympathy for Cloud. "Yeah my wife was killed too." "What happened?" Barret asked. "About three years ago we took a trip to Washington. On our way to the Capitol Building, we ran out of gas. Luckly, I saw a gas station about a mile and a half back so I told her to stay in the car and wait for me. When I got back with the tank of gas, I saw the back window shattered and the driver's door wide open. There were police cars all around. I asked what had happened and they said she was raped and murdered by a gang that was nearby at the time." The pilot started to cry. "If only I had taken her along with me she wouldn't have been killed. It's my fault she was killed!" "Don't blame yourself," Cloud said, "Blaming yourself just makes it worse. You have to tell yourself that there was nothing you can do about it instead of living with the pain for the rest of your life." The pilot nodded in agreement, "I guess your right," he said. Cloud looked out of the window and saw Weapon chasing Cid. "There they are!" Cloud shouted. The plane landed near their location. Cloud and Barret ran toward Cid.

"You can't catch me!" Cid shouted. The angry Weapon continued him chasing and was gaining quickly. Cloud and Barret ran with all their might to try to catch up to Cid. While Cid ran he spotted Cloud and Barret in the distance. "Hey Cloud! You feelin' better?" he asked. "Yeah just better!" Cloud shouted back. "Cid! Our materia is working again! Use your materia!" Barret shouted. Cid looked at Barret. "Your joking right?" "No he's telling the truth!" Cloud shouted. Cid turned around to see his materia glowing in his Venus Gospel. "Damn! They WERE telling the truth!" he exclaimed. Cid ran back toward Weapon. "He's f**kin' crazy!" Barret shouted. "We need to distract him!" Cloud shouted. The two heroes ran toward the Weapon, throwing rocks, boulders and shooting bullets at him. The Weapon turned around and let out an angry roar toward Cloud and Barret. "I think we got his attention!" Barret shouted. Right as Weapon began chasing Cloud and Barret, Cid jumped on his huge foot and pulled his precious Venus Gospel from his muscular leg. Cid took out one of his red summon materia. He thought of a great idea. "Cloud! Barret! Get outta here! I have an idea!" Cid shouted. "We're not leaving without you, Cid!" Cloud shouted back. "Just trust me! I know what I'm doing now GO!" Cid snapped. Cloud looked at Barret. "Think we should let him carry out his plan?" Cloud asked Barret. "We may have no choice," Barret said. Cloud turned back to Cid. "Okay Cid but were coming back for you!" Cid gave them a thumbs up while Barret and Cloud climb back aboard the rescue plane. They looked out at Cid who was getting ready to summon something. "I just hope he knows what he's doing," Cloud said to himself. The plane took off and headed back toward the base. Cid ran up to Weapon and stabbed him again. The Weapon angrily turned around and blew a blue fire ball from his mouth. Cid jumped out of the way just in time. "Okay Cid," he said to himself," Focus on the materia." Suddenly Cid charged up the summon with all his might. "Okay, here goes nothin'! Tera Flare!" While Cid disappeared, the powerful mighty dragon known as Bahamut emerged from the dark side of the planet. He aimed for Weapon as he spread his six long and powerful wings, three on each side of his body. He began to chagre up energy and focused it all on his beak. With a mighty force of his head, he shot the blue powerful beam. The beam penetrated the white, fluffy clouds over France and with a force of a nuclear explosion, came crashing down right on Diamond Weapon. The nuclear blast blew Diamond Weapon apart. The explosion made a blinding light flash through Paris, making the survivors falling to the ground and covering their eyes. Within minutes, the explosion died down and Cid reappeared, now standing on scorthed earth. The rescue plane swung around and landed where Cid was. "Are you okay, Cid?" Cloud asked. "I've never been better," he answered as he climbed aboard the plane. When Cid walked aboard he fainted on the floor. "Cid!" Barret shouted. Cloud put his hand on his chest. "He's still alive," Cloud said. "Pilot!," Barret shouted, "We have a man down. Get our @$$s back to the base now!" "Yes sir!" the pilot said as the plane took off and headed back for Paris.

Sephiroth walked through the city laughing. He looked at his watch. "6 hours until the end of the earth! I can hardly wait! No more Cloud or his pesky friends! I shall rule over this planet anyway I want to and nobody would dare rebel against me! Hahahahahahahahahaha!" Sephiroth's dark presence sent people in the streets fleeing for their lives. Sephiroth saw all of the chaos going on. "You shouldn't be worried about me you pathetic fools!" Sephiroth said, "I would be more concerned of the threat that will wipe all of you off this planet in a matter of hours. Mwahhahaahahahahahahahhahahah!"
