Through the Looking Glass
Eidolon
She stood near the edge of Nowhere. Somewhere was to her right and Anywhere, to her left. Below her, a spiral galaxy looked inviting, but her attention was on the depths of the black in front of her.
How far?
too far for me to go now... i can't do it alone...
I can't?
i'm not strong enough to do it...
No, I guess, I'm not...
Nothing marred the darkness in her sight. No star, no planet, no comet, no black holes, singularities, novas, nothing. Empty. But too vast. At least, for now...
It had taken her 8 million years-- or seconds-- to find this place, this border. If legend can be believed, this is where her quest would begin. But she couldn't go it alone... She needed Her, knowing that She understood much more than she, herself, could.
You can't go in...
i know...
I want to, though...
but i'm right-- so dont' go in.
I won't.
i remember...
... When it all started...
She wandereb back through time, noting with a brilliant, blue star the location of Nowhere. Her mind searched, creating singularities, making stars go nova and changing the paths of comets.
How much will you destroy to find the past?
it's a paradox...
I forgot.
no i didn't, i just hate to see anything destroyed...
You'll get over it.
the past? or the destruction?
Both...
Memories drifted past her, colors shifted and she found herself wandering farther into the past...
