Angelic Guiding Light

Delithita

"Del, we lost contact with that Basilisk."

Frowning at this, the young woman stared at the computer. The pilot needed help. But with the IB on the move, she dared not send a rescue party. Frowning again, she stood and moved for the door. Altas was in her way.

"I do not think that would be wise Del."

"What?" Forcing a whisper her face darkened as she spoke. She hated the fact that her voice had not recovered.

"You will not go out to rescue one pilot. You are too valuable." Her face darkened even more. She gestured for him to move. He merely looked over at Xenogears who shook her head. As he started to look back down to Del and speak to her she exploded.

With a movement too fast to watch, she bodily lifted Altas from the ground and threw him into the passage. Striking the wall he was quick to duck. Del's gauntleted fist was right where his head had been. A hole in the passage was now apparent. Pulling her fist free she spun with a back fist, the speed at which she moved was incredible. Atlas barely ducked that attack as well. He executed a quick backwards roll, and came up on his feet in a basic combat stance. Del was gone.

Out the airlock, Del ran. She had put on some slightly weighted boots to allow her to run in Mercury's low gravity. She sprinted off in the direction of the downed Basilisk.

"Ops to Delithita. It is over three kilometers away! You will never make it without a herc!"

In response Del stopped. She turned and faced the colony. "That is why I have this."

A bright flash, a plume of smoke that quickly dissapated and Del was speeding rapidly away.

"She took one of the rocket packs that we used for the low-orbit satellite launch." came Xenogears's flat comment.

"How'd she adapt it?" Altas's voice contained nothing short of amazed amusement.

"She has done a lot of things we can not figure out. We will find out soon I am sure."

Almost there.

With Mercury speeding by beneath her she glanced at the HUD she had installed in her suit. She was about a kilometer from her destination. Shutting down the rocket she slowly started to descend back to Mercury's surface. As she got closer to the ground she angled her arms in a fashion that put her feet beneath her, and the rocket's output nozzle the same direction. Firing the system for a quick second she slowed to a standstill, slow descent. Hitting the ground she was running. The bassy was in sight now. On it's side. Its right leg missing. The scattered remains of a seeker lay in front of it. As she got closer she saw the Basilisk's pilot laying in front. Running up to him she looked down. No way to check vitals. Frowning a bit, she picked the man up, and relit the rocket pack.
