Dexterity Skills

Love-Making
Type: Normal
This is your talent for pleasing a sexual partner in many agile and imaginative ways. It is an extremely common artform among the male and female courtesans and prostitutes of Ikarus, Janus, and House Radost of Hydra.

Net/Cloak
Type: Normal
Slots: Cloak, Net
This is your skill for using cloaks and small nets in combat situations, sing them as makeshift parrying implements or to confuse, entangle, or disarm your opponent. It is only really practiced by a few Ikarean duellists and the Tritons of Hydra.

Pilot, Sky Disk
Type: Normal
This skill enables the character to pilot the skimmerdisks and sky-disks found throughout Ikarus and, to a lesser extent, Janus.

Pilot, Suspensor Type: Normal
Slots Per aircraft This skill is used to pilot dedicated performance aircrafe such as the Raptors, Skuas and Kondors of Ikarus. Non-proficient charactrs cannot use this skill.

Pilot, Wing-Glider Type: Normal
This is the character's aptitued for flying the unpowered wing-gliders.

Intelligence Skills

Cryptography
Type: Hard
This is the character's aptitude for creating and deciphering complex codes, such as those used to encrypt secret messages and communications.

Gamecraft
Type: Hard
Slots: Per game
This demonstrates your skill at playing games that involve detailed thinking, planning and strategy, such as 3D chess and Numeran Qua (from Hydra). Skill at such intellectual games is often considered the mark of a superior intellect. Lineage
Type: Normal
Slots: Per family, bloodline, clan or house
This skill grants your character in-depth knowledge of their ancestry dating back centuries. It is especially prized among the nobles of Ikarus and the Shogunate. Non-proficient characters cannot use this skill.

Lip reading
Type: Hard
This skill grants you the ability to read the lips of anyone who you can clearly see talking, and figure out exactly what they are saying. Depending on how well you roll, there may be a slight misinterpertation of what they are saying. It is a useful skill for the hearing impaired, and for those involved in Intelligence-gathering professions.

Oratory
Type: Normal
This ability allows you to make rousing speeches, stirring emotions and swaying or attracting listeners.

Sign Language
Type: Hard
You can use this skill to convey complex or brief messages in complete silence and over deafening background noises. It does require the use of both hands and can only be done with a clear line of sight at a reasonably close distance (unless the "reader" is using image-enhancing devices such as digital magnoculars). This skill is used by certain crack combat squads and the hearing impaired. Non-proficient characters cannot use this skill.

Writing
Type: Normal
Your talent for putting imaginitive thought into written form, including poetry and fiction, ensuring that it is both entertaining and evocative.
