Subject: Gaigin, Turn 50

> Gaigin grit his teeth beneath his mask, fighting down a mixed feeling of
> giddiness and nausea as the blood rushed from his head. His arm bled
> freely, sending waves of pain up through his shoulder, but the seasoned
> warrior maintained a tight grip on his spear regardless. Keeping an eye
> on the shark, Gaigin stepped back until he stood near Koreth and
> Ptellac.
>
> "These'll be scars to show the grandchildren, if we manage to live
> through this." Gaigin laughs, his voice hoarse with pain. Gesturing
> with his gore-dripping spear, Gaigin points to the nearest shark, and
> raises his voice. "I'll try to pin that one down, Ptellac, you try to
> finish it off. Koreth, join Rayne, Tak's in trouble, and Elric's not
> much better, if not worse. Aryus, do what you can, but stay out of the
> Shark's way, you can't take much more."
>
> Round One:
>
> Gaigin moves forward slowly, eyeing the shark and gripping his spear
> tightly. Suddenly the beast veered towards him, moving with incredible
> speed, teeth gnashing violently as it sensed the blood that oozed freely
> down Gaigin's arm, soaking the sand a deep red. Hoping his instincts
> weren't dulled by his wounds, Gaigin waited until the beast was almost
> on him. Suddenly, just as the scent of the shark's noxious breath
> reached his nostrils, Gaigin leapt to the side. Bringing his spear up
> over his head in a two-handed grip, the big warrior thrust at the beasts
> tough hide, hoping his strength would be enough to pin the creature
> down.
>
> If hit: The creature thrashed mightily as the wicked chitin spear-head
> plunged through it's hide and deep into it's back. Struggling
> desperately to keep the beast pinned, Gaigin shouts coursely, "Ptellac!
> Now!"
>
> If miss: The thrust goes awry as the spear-tip scrapes uselessly across
> the sandshark's leathery hide. Off balance, Gaigin leaps away
> desperately, trying to avoid the creature until he could find another
> chance to strike.
>
> Round Two:
>
> All semblance of tactical fighting fled as Gaigin's wounds combined to
> sap his wits. Breathing heavily beneath his mask, Gaigin's mind is
> clouded with bloodlust enough to match the sharks and pass them.
> Hefting his spear, Gaigin lets out a haggard battle-cry as he rushes the
> nearest shark, hurling all his strength into a single thrust, hoping to
> bring down the beast through sheer force.
>
> If Hit: Through luck and strength, Gaigin's spear pierces deep into the
> sandshark. The big fighter continues to shout his war-cry as he puts
> all his weight into the spear, burrying the tip deeper still. Finally,
> wrenching his spear from the creature's hide, Gaigin prepares for
> whatever comes next.
>
> If Miss: The sandshark sensed the warriors charge and turned violently,
> thrashing its vicious maw around at the last moment. The spear-point
> deflects harmlessly from the creature's hide as Gaigin runs full-tilt
> into the massive bulk of the beast. Staggering back, Gaigin shakes his
> head and throws himself backwards, hoping to avoid imminent death
> between the sharks deadly jaws.

Subject: Elric: Turn 50

> Elric tosses his bow towards his cloak and the young tagster. As he draws
> his blades the soft whisper of bone is followed by a metallic hum as Tempest
> clears its sheath. The long desert trek had given Elric time to contemplate
> the mysteries of Tempest. At last he had come to understand the symbolism of

> the Dragon!" Elric dives to the right, spinning to bring Tempest in a
> horizontal slash toward the beast.
>
> - hit - While the storm magic still remains in the core of Tempest the
> mirror blade still held a razors edge. Slicing easily through the sand shark
> 's tough hide Tempest rips across the shark's side.
>
> - Miss - The desperate dive keeps Elric from bringing his blades to bear
> against the massive sand shark.
>
> Recovering from his dive Elric jumps to his feet and dashes after the sand
> shark (Note: using Running Prof.)
>
> - If he catches the shark. Note: He will not separate from the group as not
> to become isolated
>
> Leaping forward Elric strikes down into the sand with a double thrust. The
> two swords sink quickly into the soft sand, slowing little as they enter
> into the hard hide of the sand shark. The shark surfaces in a rush throwing
> Elric into a sand dune to the left. Teeth glimmering in the harsh sunlight
> the sand shark charges toward Elric.
>
> - If the shark is to fast -
>
> His legs pumping through the sand Elric watches as the sand shark leaves him
> behind. The shark begins to circle to the left coming around for another

Subject: Koreth: Turn 50

> <One of those bloody beasts down,> Koreth grinned, his white teeth

Subject: Rayne: Turn 50

>
> The mul cringes as her exertions make the bleeding wounds on her arm ache. Aware of the halfling who has asked for her protection, Rayne feels determined to kill the beast. Grimacing, a grunt escapes her lips as she uses all her force to work her blade in deeper into the beast. The added injury begins to slow the shark's thrashing, and Rayne changes her movements from pushing the blade in to slicing with the blade. Using the side of the beast as some leverage, she slowly pulls the blade toward her through the creature -tearing apart it's insides. The shark stops moving and Rayne works her blade free. Making sure the shark is dead, she pulls her tortoise blade free of the shark's now still jaws. The favored weapon was damaged somewhat, but still useable. Strapping it back on where it belongs, Rayne turns her attention away from the dead shark and back to the live ones, Rayne is glad to see that Koreth is coming to her aid. Feeling weak from the blood loss and exertion, Rayne focuses on the danger to keep herself alert.
>
> (FABIAN: Rayne will spend both turns killing the shark if necessary, if not . . .)
>
> IF THE SHARK'S DEATH ONLY TAKES ONE TURN:
>
> Another shark Leaps forth from the ground, barring Rayne's view of Koreth's approach. Rayne realizes the shark seems somewhat distracted and seems to be headed on a specific course - toward the halfling. Sidestepping the creature's deadly maw, the mul reverses her direction, and drives herself full force into the side of the shark knocking it away from the halfling. She manages to slice a long gash through the shark's hide as she pulls away from the creature.
>
> IF SHE MISSES:
>
> The force it took to knock the shark off course was greater than Rayne had expected, she deflected the shark enough to avoid Tak, however she stumbles as the shark "slides" back into the sand. Rayne curses as she realizes that she failed to do more than add to the shark's hungry mood.
