Chit-Zik (Zik for short)
HISTORY
Chit-Zik was hatched in the great Alluvial Sand Wastes. His first hunting experience was in the rocky badlands, which he enjoyed to no end. He is not sadistic, he just thrills in the experience, not in the murder of another creature. For that reason, he refuses to hunt a sentient creature. He came to worship the land he trusted, and became a druid of earth. Over the years, he has traveled to many areas of the tablelands to hunt.
He learned little other then how to survive and how to fight, and he preferred to hunt with his smaller clutch, rather then with the entire pack. He liked smaller, more personal groups of no more then 5 or 6. He was known to be patient and quiet when hunting, while boastful and full of stories when he wasn't.
He has killed, or been a part of hunting, most of the common and many of the uncommon creatures in the wastes. He may boast of facing a creature he actually hasn't.
Two years ago, when closing in on some dune reapers, Chit-Zik and his clutch were faced with an ambush by the fearsome creatures. Of the five Thri-Kreen, only Chit-Zik and another got out alive. The other died of his wounds shortly after. This was the beginning of the troubles for the pack. The pack's leader was killed in the attack, and a vicious power struggle was put into place. Chit-Zik supported a Thri-Kreen who didn't achieve a high place of power. Chit-Zik was made to heal most of his time, and not hunt as much as he wanted. Over the next two years he hunted less and less, and when he did, he was with the entire pack.
Finally, hunting became very scarce. His pack traveled to the Tyr region, just before the war against Urik broke out. Most prey was chased off and much of the rest killed for the army as it passed through. With little to no food, the leader of the pack decided they would have to hunt and kill sentient creatures. It was at this point that Chit-Zik decided to leave. It was no longer the pack he knew, and he rarely was able to take part in the hunt he loved so greatly.
Through seemingly total lack of choice, Chit-Zik fled to Tyr. He now hopes to form a new pack, caring not for race or class, and serve the pack as hunter and healer. With his past experiences, he is likely to be very devoted to the clan, and attempt to have a great deal of influence in it.
APPEARANCE
Chit-Zik is a somewhat wiry for a thri-kreen, showing his lack of brute strength. He is often very dirty, although cares nothing about this and assumes others don't either. He wears a simple backpack and two Gythka's over it. There are 4 locations to hold Chatkcha's, which are always filled. He is 7'10" and 465 lbs.
PERSONALITY
Chit-Zik is, quite simple, obsessed with the hunt. He brags about his hunting prowess often and sometimes lies. He views even everyday conversation as a hunter/prey relationship. When he has or is about to hunt and kill, he will not deal rationally with others.
He is also a good healer, and protector of his land. He does looks upon the destruction of defiling of his lands to be the loss of good hunting ground, and will not tolerate this to happen needlessly. Although he will not harm sentient life, he views many negative traits as either belonging to animals or simply unintelligent enough to constitute a sentient race, and anyone who displays those traits is fair game. This includes slavery, needless destruction, and greed.
He is indifferent to race, class, religion, or heritage. He is likely to first attempt to gain acceptance in a new pack, become useful to it through his healing and combat abilities, and then finally take an important position among it.
