After some years after the first Star Trek movie, Admiral James T. Kirk is now a Starfleet Academy
instructor and the recently promoted Captain Spock trains cadets there.
Meanwhile, scientists aboard the Regula I Space Station
are conducting the Project Genesis experiment, and the U.S.S. Reliant, a Miranda class starship
is assigned to the Genesis project to look for inhabited planets for the experiment. Kirk's ex-wife and son are in charge of the station. While surveying a lifeless planet in the
Ceti Alpha star system, Comdr. Chekov and Capt. Clark Terrell beam down to the
sixth planet and found some cargo containers which held
refugees from the Eugenics Wars of 1990s Earth, with Khan Noonian Singh in
charge. Khan later told the crew that Ceti Alpha VI exploded, and shifted the orbit
of the fifth planet and all the life in the planet was destroyed. Khan manages to hijack the Reliant,
and manages to steal the Genesis Device which was in the Regula I Space Station. Admiral Kirk takes the U.S.S.
Enterprise on a training mission, and is attacked by the captured Reliant, in which
Khan vows to avenge his exile. He appears thirsty of vengeance and with the power
of creation in his hand and Admiral Kirk must face him and save the crew and his family
