Leadership
The end of this millennium is distinctly known for a shortage if not absence of characteristic leadership. The world today is suffering from a serious spiritual and leadership crisis. And this leadership problem has invaded almost every part of human life ranging from the smallest human institution-family to the highest form of national and multinational organizations.
Family breakdown and all forms of family related social problem; prostitution, delinquency and explosion of street children particularly in the developing countries etc are all manifestations and breeds of such leadership problem at a family level.
Women movement is being replaced by men, which in either case, negatively affected family formation. In Europe and in many parts of the world, living together with out marriage has become a common tradition, thus adversely affecting the generation replacement process and has led into a serious problem of maintaining the normal pattern of population growth in these countries.
A moral decay and the growing irresponsibility of leaders in the International Organizations has led the world into unprecedented era of global crisis and failure of trust in the International treaties on the part of the International community.
International organizations are no longer considered fora where by justice prevail but rather as stages where political actors and expert liars show a play of an act of dishonesty and suspicion, denial of justice, rejection of truth and false accusation between nations in the name of diplomacy and protection of self interest. These organizations have indeed become fora where well carved lies gloss over truth.
For bad or good, whatever the intention might be, these days international financial institutions are increasingly exercising their influence over the developing nations as is evidenced by their active role in the planning, design and prescription of the economic and political policies and strategies of these countries. The prevailing theory of globalization, export of capital, investment and promotion of business beyond boundary etc has eroded the feelings of nationalism, identity, cultural values and morality of leaders, people and nations.
Corruption has become a malignant disease of the world system. Economic instability and unprecedented global crisis in many parts of the world accompanied by unhealthy growth of monopoly has intensified the downturn and economic collapse of the agrarian economy in the Least Developed Countries leading to high indebtedness. Natural and man made calamities has resulted into the extinction of millions of people in these countries. Unbalanced economic growth, unfair distribution of global resources and unjust exploitation of opportunities among nations has symmetrically divided the glob in to two extreme parts. And this has created a situation where people in one corner live the most luxurious life while as the rest of the world population suffer from pandemic diseases like AIDs, and Poverty, etc which are consuming the lives of millions.
The situation is so strange that the world is in chaos, disorder and with out form demanding miraculous and urgent intervention. The world seems to require a rescue team of leaders that can salvage it from systemic crisis manifested in the arena of education, entertainment, sport, politics and economic. But the question is can the philosophy of "NEW WORLD ORDER" or the "IDEOLOGY OF GLOBALIZATION" save the glob? Can the World Bank prescriptions of structural adjustment, Privatization and well-designed economic, social and political policies deliver the ailing world from its downhill collapse and abyss? Or can the development strategies and programs of NGO's by themselves redeem its crises? In short can the world provide a solution for the problems and challenges it has encountered?
The same episode is being observed in the spiritual world. Some of the manifestations of spiritual and leadership crisis in the body of Christ include:
a) Spiritual Bankruptcies in the churches:-
Christianity is becoming more of religion and ritual exercise than a living faith.
Abuse of Spiritual gifts
Lack of the fruits of the Spirit
absence of a consecrated life
Lack of true freedom
Lack of genuine heart and humble spirit
Lack of Purpose and Vision
b) Leadership Crisis in the Churches :-
Lack of truly serving leaders in the church
Leaders compromise to almost everything
Absence of called leaders
Self glorifying leaders
Leaders lacking sound Biblical knowledge
C) Corruption Beyond control...
Moral & spiritual corruption
No Christian ethics
Material corruption
Groupism and cliquish orientation
Tribalism, nepotism and all forms of segregation between poor and rich.
Hypocrisy with no courage to confront sin with love and truth.
d) Lack of theological sound Bible teachers..
Proliferation of false teachings
Absence of balanced teaching
Existence of Teachers and Students who join the seminary to make a living and are not called of God.
Lack of truth and the reign of lie.
No Christian Growth, and True Discipleship...
Lack of Discipline, norms, absolute Ethics and Values among Christians.
Lack of Faithful Stewardships, in the churches for the Lord's resources...
A growing tendency for worldliness and materialistic strivings
No proper teaching on work ethics and how to behave as a true worker.
Wrong perception of a Christian role outside the church i.e. serving God for many people is only in the church as elder, evangelist or deacon etc. disregarding the need to infiltrate in every arena of life
As we come closer to the details of facts of life in the church and the world, it is obvious that the situation seems beyond control. And this predicament calls for capable leaders who can save the generation not by the philosophy of their own ideas and ideologies but by the power of God.
The deepest cry in the hearts of the people of the world and the people in the body of Christ today is therefore a cry for a quality leadership who will take the responsibility to positively impact the prevailing spiritual and leadership distress in the church and in every walks of human life. In essence, it is a weeping not for merely productive, efficient and effective leaders who can manage thing right but a spirit filled leaders who can lead people to restoration.
Restoration unto their God. Kings and priests wrapped up in one. Leaders, who can hear the voice of God, believe in the full revelation of the working of the Holy Spirit and understand the principles of the Bible, and apply them to the diversified disciplines of life. Leaders with vision and purpose and who have discovered the truth and the cause for their creation. Leaders with courage, gut and determination to impact the world positively.
It is this cause that gave birth to the coming in to existence of the Kingdom Ministry with the objective of building kingdom minded generation through the development of quality leaders in the church and in every walks of life. Kingdom Ministry strongly believes that one of the most appropriate solutions to the prevailing crisis in the world and in the church is to develop quality leaders based on the true ethics of Christianity. It believes that organizations and institutions in the world to day need and should be led by leaders who fear their God and have love for the people of the world and who can bring justice in every walks of life out of courage, high standard of integrity, responsibility and character. Leaders who are concerned about the social, political and economic situation of their people and who understand their accountability for the consequences of their leadership. For true responsibility comes out of love, compassion and caring of people.
It is the deep conviction of the Ministry that the first priority agenda of the church and those engaged in the service of the body of Christ must be one of producing spirit filled leaders. The present civilization of man testifies that technological and scientific development is faster than that of the development in the social sciences. As a result, we have such a proliferation of international malfunctioning treaties on the use of various types of weapons, ecology and human right related conventions and laws etc, which all indicate the serious need to cope up with the situation by the new developments in the area of leadership. More importantly the time requires leaders who have a real vision from God and a concrete objective of a purpose from God to rally their people around.
The Kingdom Ministry is therefore highly committed to build a Leadership Collage and work towards the production of Spirit filled leaders who can reach the deep things of God reserved for His people. Leaders who can induce dynamism in the realm of leadership and rescue the people of the world from destruction and death.
