Notes:
The Durendal is built on the same 200 Standard ton, streamlined disk
hull that the Roland uses. It retains the same basic plan on the port
side, adding a single small stateroom for the Steward (required for
High Passengers). There are two decks on the starboard side. The
lower half is used for cargo and quarters, and the upper is used for
fuel storage. The two 95Mj Laser turrets are retained, due to the
need for good self defense in fringe systems.
The Forward section of the ship is dominated by the 64 Std cargo bay, which opens to the front and is flanked on either side by the two main airlocks. The cargo bay ceiling is 5 meters tall, high enough to stack two standard freight modules (2x2x3.5 meters) on top of each other.
On the port side of the ship is the command center and the crew quarters. Each stateroom includes a small shower unit, a standard bunk (which has space for 1kl of rations and personal gear), and a desk with deck chair. The owner's cabin has space for a personal shower and sanfac and a small captain's log computer. A small crew rest area is located to stern, near the engineering section. A narrow corridor connects the two sides of the ship.
The passenger section occupies the entire starboard side. The section has two decks, with the upper deck accessible using two pulldown ladders. The four large staterooms are each two decks tall, with sleeping and sanitary units on the upper deck. The lower section includes a desk, entertainment center, and ration dispenser, and sports a fine view of the stars. Each of the twelve small staterooms is about 2x3x2.5 meters and contains a bunk with 1kl of food and personal storage, and a small shower unit.
The vehicle hangar is located to forward of the passenger section, next to the main starboard airlock.
