Learning Corel WebMaster Suite – Web Publishing
Advanced Level Disk
http://store.learn2.com/basket/default.asp
Overview:
This video, from the Learn2.com Tutorials by ViaGrafix series, demonstrates use of the
Corel Web.SiteManager to create high-tech, advanced web pages. I recommend
this tape for users who will create complex web pages, business sites,
site with ordering, FTP, and advanced web page maintenance.
Chapter One: Web Site Creation
Part One -- The Site Builder Wizard
We open the program and click “Create a New Site,” and name it. Then the
lesson shows how to access the Styles from the program disk. The benefit
of using Styles is explained, and the user can include catalogues and on-line
ordering on the site, right from the beginning. An email link is set up,
and when OK is clicked, the banners, borders, bullets and all will be saved.
Part Two -- The Site Manager
Before you get a look at your new page, you are shown how to check links,
to and from the page. This graphical interface, with its depictions of
hyperlinks, was entirely new to me, and I immediately wondered how I’d
managed without it.
Chapter Two
This chapter tells how to create recipes, view publishing options, sort
data in a field, assign attributes to fields, save and process the recipe
and publish the page to a web page. There is so much information in this
chapter, and it is so useful – you’ll want to work through it slowly, doing
the steps with the tape.
Chapter Three
This is the trouble-shooting chapter. How to check for broken links, how
to repair them, and How to create sub-folders in your web page are covered
fully. Not hard, but definitely essential. Last, scanning for viruses is
discussed in this chapter.
Chapter Four
This chapter explains FTP, and shows you how to upload and download, as
well as how to set up your web page to let your clients make use of FTP.
This Learning Video is not for babies. I recommend mastering the first
two tapes before going into this one, but ABSOLUTELY DO go into it. The
skills taught here will serve you well, when you put your web page on the
internet.
