page 6, panel 5: In the background, Junkin Buckley can be scene pilfering Kerwyn's talking stick.

page 9, panel 7: Wat has realized that Junkin Buckley has somehow warped the animal visages on Kerwyn's talking stick into more bestial and horrifying images; this can best be seen in page 11, panels 3 and 6.

page 11, panels 1-3: This is a depiction of ARCANA: THE BOOKS OF MAGIC ANNUAL #1, page 56, panels 5-8, although the dialogue is altered to a fair degree.

page 22, panel 1: This is a depiction of ARCANA: THE BOOKS OF MAGIC ANNUAL #1, page 56, panel 7, although Rowland and Paine were not seen in that issue.

page 24, panel 1: It is unclear how Suzy knows Tim is a (potential) "master magician". It seems unlikely that Tim would have described himself as such, and Suzy didn't seem to recognize Tim in any way when they first met.

page 28, panel 7: Wat's description of Maxine being a god compared to Tim being a mere wizard seems a little odd, given that it is upon Tim that they seem to be relying to give Free Country the power she needs.

page ?, panel 3: Tim is referring to "Alice's Adventures Through The Looking Glass" by Lewis Carroll, in which Alice claims she always tries to believe five impossible things before breakfast.
