A warlord plans to attack a small village. Xena helps the villagers and tries to defeat the warlord.

My comment: This episode is not as good as "Sins of the Past" but it has a lot of good moments. Gabrielle talks herself out of a situation by proposing to a warrior. In the meantime, Xena helps some villagers against Cycnus, a warlord. During that effort, she gets wounded. Darius, a widowed father helps her recover, they both start a short but very emotional relationship.

In this episode, we see the difference between Xena and Gabrielle once more. While Xena relies on her fighting abilities and don't believes in solving problems by talking, Gabrielle mostly uses her barding skills (f.e. in the tavern).
