Raven

Prologue

The Bowery.

An area known, and feared for being representative of all man's darkness. Corruption, sex, drugs, prostitution and the dark unknown. Why do people fear these streets and back alleys? Some may justify that they don't want to be raped, robbed, or murdered.

Perhaps there is something more then those fears.

Perhaps they fear it for what it is. For being all the evil that is within them that they fear to face.

Within these scum encrusted alleys and abandoned, decrepid buildings lies one of many individuals here seeking redemption. Although, the redemption he seeks is not just his own but, those of his followers as well.

While the title of leader is never used to refer to him, there is no doubt that he is. He gives the orders and the others obey. Perhaps it is the man's charisma that swayed them under his wing. Perhaps they truly are kindred spirits and are working to redeem themselves and the others that society forgets or tries to trample under it's heel.

It is a little of everything.

They refer to themselves as the Flock. Like dark birds they will swoop down and strike swiftly and silently, leaving no trace save for their actions and confusion.

Raven, the leader, is a man of many torments. Extreamely intelligent and an incredibly articulate speaker. He holds a certain charisma in his words but, will not try to talk hiw way through all things. His tortured past is alluded to often and rarely embelished. All that is known is that the scars run deep and the wounds were issued by both the world and his family.

Saturn, Raven's right hand man. While little more is known of their relationship, it has been revealed that they were friends in school. Both were ridiculed by their peers and each others only friend. After graduating, Saturn moved on and joined the military. Raven disappeared. After excelling and earning many accalades in the miliatery, Saturn was discharged. Though he was one of the best soldiers, and a fighter without a peer, he was discharged dishonorably. Saturn has a short temper and his fellow soldiers, at times, were all too much like the children in school becuase of his skills, Saturn's peers tolerated this. Until a it went to far and blood was spilled. A life ended.

No one, themselves included, know when Raven and Kanyon first met. It is thought that their families were friends, business partners, or the like. Kanyon and Raven had similar childhood experiences. Both were shunned by their peers, and neglected by their parents. Both have suffered many scars. Although many years in the martial arts should of taught Kanyon discipline, all they really did was increase a growing hobby of the his. Hurting other people. A skill oftimes called apon by Raven.

While little is known about Raven, even less is known about Sick Boy. All that has been told is that when Sick Boy and Raven first crossed path's it was in was in these alleys. Sick Boy is a tortured soul seeking both revenge and redemption. Raven took him under the proverbial wing. Sick Boy rarely speaks and when he does, it's in a cryptic manner. Even worse then Raven's veiled missives and even fewer questions are answered.

"We were all wronged in our youth. Whether by the parents that supposedly loved us, the schools we were sentenced to, just by society in general, or all. We refused to conform and do as all the other sheep did.

Our parents would mistreat us.

The children would laugh.

We would be abandonded.

We would be beat.

Now, in our adulthoods? We seek to set right the crimes society inflicted apon us. Not only for ourselves but others like us.

Quote the Raven.

Nevermore."
