Ah....the much awaited trip. Above is a map showing the trail. If its hard to see, you can open it in a new window and scale it up.

Well, this is it. The ride. Going through the dense redwood forest. Redwood are very huge trees but as far as I was told, they do not log them anymore.

As you can see, the tree is very big. The train stopped somewhere near the summit. So time to snaps some photos.

Here we are. The Cathedral Grove. The redwoods around here somehow grew in a circle. The reason was unknown. The man on top of the stump is the train conductor/tour guide. He was telling us some storie on how the grove came about.

This is the bottom up view on the Grove. The reason it was called the Cathedral Grove was the way light will pierce through the canopy in the morning. The lights beams resembles the tainted glass in a Cathedral. Cool effects.

Me with the tree. Girl with a branch.

This is an Ex-bridge. Somewhere in the 1920s some arsonist burnt down the bridge. It was too costly to replace.( The local authority will not fund the US2 million needed while the insurance company will only pay if the new bridge have a 24-hour security survailance.)

This is how close we can come to a tree. At certain points, if you put your hand or head out like the guy in blue, you will get smacked by a tree trunk. Trust me, you will lose.

Cute kid sitting in front of me. Must be chewing on one of the branches that occasionally fall down on the carriage.

On the supposedly US tallest wooden bridge. Not really high but hey, in the old days, its high if you build just from timber with no metal or concrete.

The conductor again with all his fancy pins and badges on his vest. Didn't really pay attention to his badges.
