Star Wars

Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith

Vader was born Anakin Skywalker. Anakin's mother's name is Shmi and he has no father; he was concieved by mitocloirenes (excuss my spelling). He was proficized to bring balance to the force and because of this he was rescued from slavehood by the Jedi Master Qui-Jon Ginn. After visiting the Jedi Council with Qui-Jon and Obi-wan Kenobi, the Council decided to train the boy although as Master Yoda advised against it.

Anakin gained renown during the Clone Wars for his abilities as a pilot. With Obi-wan as his mentor and friend, Anakin was learning the ways of the Jedi. But Anakin became impatient with the slow teachings of Obi-wan and eventually took to the ways of the dark side. Prodded by the new Emperor, Anakin turned completely to the Dark Side. Kenobi confronted his former pupil, trying to turn him back to the Light, but Anakin would not yield. The two began a furious lightsaber duel. Obi-Wan forced Skywalker into a pit of molten lava, taking Skywalker's dropped lightsaber and leaving him for dead. But the Emperor was by no means willing to part with young Skywalker, who, he had sensed, had the potential to be very strong with the Dark Side, and thus an asset to the Empire. Retrieving Skywalker's body, the Emperor had damaged limbs and nervous systems replaced with machines and automated systems. Leaving behind his past, Anakin Skywalker took the name Darth Vader, and, as the Dark Lord of the Sith, became the Emperor's right-hand man. The visage of Darth Vader became one of Palpatine's most effective ways to spread his "rule by fear" doctrine. Palpatine's first task for Darth Vader was to hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights, guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Vader was a powerful warrior, and soon this task was all-but accomplished.--not in any movies, taken from other sources.

Vader was then sent to speed up the final stages of construction on the Death Star, an armored battle station that, when completed, would have enough firepower to destroy an entire planet. It was while on the Death Star that Vader once again confronted his old mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi, who had come to the station to rescue the imprisoned Leia Organa. The two dueled, and Vader eventually destroyed Kenobi. Later, after the Death Star had been destroyed by the Rebel Alliance at Yavin-4, Vader became aware of the fact that the young Rebel pilot who had destroyed the station was none other than his own son. Vader received command of a new ask force of Star Destroyers, with a new order from his master, the Emperor: find Luke Skywalker. Skywalker would either turn to the Dark Side, or be destroyed. With the Executor, the first in a line of Super-class Star Destroyers as his flagship, Vader hunted the Rebels to the ice planet Hoth.

After totally obliterating the Hoth base, Vader pursued the Millenium Falcon to Cloud City on Bespin. Using Han Solo and Leia Organa as bait, Vader set a trap for his son, and eventually young Luke made his way to Bespin. Father and son lightsaber dueled all over Cloud City. On the gantry, Vader cut off Luke's hand. He then told the boy that they were father and son. Vader hoped Luke would join him, so that they could destroy the Emperor and rule the galaxy themselves. But Luke, reeling from shock, jumped from the balcony and narrowly escaped Vader's capture.

Though Vader wanted nothing more than to search for his son, he soon became embroiled in a political battle of wits with Xizor, the head of the galactic crime syndicate Black Sun. Vader soon discovered that Xizor was behind numerous attempts on Skywalker's life; that Xizor had hoped to discredit Vader in the eyes of the Emperor by killing Luke Skywalker before Darth Vader could find him. Vader eventually led the Executor on an assault against Xizor's skyhook, destroying it and killing the Prince of Black Sun.--not from movies, taken from other sources.

Vader was then ordered to Endor, where he once again "motivated" construction on the second Death Star battlestation back on schedule.
The Emperor himself then came to Endor, and it wasn't long before Luke Skywalker surrendered himself to Vader, as the Emperor had forseen. Vader brought his son before his master, who tried to goad the boy into embracing the anger, fear, and aggression of the Dark Side of the Force. Vader and Luke had another duel but this time Luke cut Vader's hand off. But when Luke repeatedly refused to turn, the Emperor used Dark Force lightning on the boy, planning to kill him. Darth Vader looked on as his son writhed in pain, begging and pleading for his father to help him. It was in this moment that Anakin Skywalker retreated from the Dark Side of the Force. Embracing the light side for one final moment, Darth Vader picked up his master, the Emperor, and hurled him down the Death Star's main reactor shaft. This drained the last bit of strength of Vader, and he died minutes later in the hangar bay of the Death Star. Darth Vader died at the age of 59 in the second Death Star orbiting Endor.
