Plus/4

The Commodore Plus/4 was released in 1984. The reason that the Plus/4 did so badly in sales is twofold:

  • It had less power than its predecessor.
  • It could not run any Commodore 64 software, which was, incidentally, not only Commodore's most popular computer, but also the highest selling home computer at the time! Imagine, if you will, having to buy all new software when you already had invested hundreds of dollars.
