Description: A lanky, wiry young Vietnamese man dressed in black Maoist clothing. His swarthy, deeply tanned skin, his clothing and his ink-black hair all give the impression of a walking silhouette; this impression is only emphasized by his slightly erratic gait, giving him the impression of being a shadow moving along uneven ground. |

History: Trinh Phuc-bao was born in the slums of Saigon about ten years after the last American left; his mother always kept a photo of his father, who left shortly after she became pregnant. He still carries that photo. When his mother died (when he was just 12), he swore he’d find his father. This quest led him to the seedier side of the city, and its night-life; following clues a decade old, he managed to get on the trail. As he did so, he began to encounter the world of the shen; with a sudden determination, he began to study the bits and pieces of lore that he managed to get his hands on, first to find a way to track his father, then later just to survive. He recently found his father’s trail after a long hiatus in Tokyo; he sold his possessions, save for the two really useful books in his library, and used the funds to come to the U.S. (thus, his Resources are of the “liquid” variety, in a bank account). He’s certain that the man is in Little Asia, and he means to find him. |
