The Founding

In the deep mountains of Teutonia there is a huge valley. It's people proud, independent and fierce, yet few in numbers. For many centuries the people of this valley lived quiet, peaceful lives farming the hills and meadows of the "Vaults", which is the name that they gave to the valley.

Their lives however were shattered when the abominable Frederick Kreuger seized control of Teutonia. He saw that the Vaults were rich in lumber and minerals. One of his first acts was to build a labour camp in the Vaults, and to enslave the local population to work the vast mines and mills that he ordered construction of within the Vaults. The people of the Vaults suffered many hardships whilst under the occupation.

When the Vipers landed in Northern Teutonia descent increased amongst the people of the Vaults. One night they rose up slaughtering the Cobra guards while they slept. The leader of the people took them across the ice-plains of Wyr to the ancient fort built in an elder age.

Kreuger was furious; his mighty warmachine had suffered a drastic blow. Kreuger foolishly decided to turn the vaults into a massive charnel house with the corpses of the people of the Vaults.

They had a hard time as the people of the Vaults had organised a defence force with a name meant to strike fear into the hearts of the Cobras. Unfortunately, all that they could come up with was the Nasties. The Nasties fought fierce partisan assaults against the Cobras. They were lead by Gordon Whitescales, and his Nephew Neo Nasty Nutcracker (the people of the Vaults try to come up with the strangest names, the winner receiving a prize each year). However, by the time that the Vaults were liberated, Gordon Whitescales had fallen and his nephew led the Vaults.

Since this time, the Nasties have fought in many major engagements, including the border war with the Wolves, and the Gatherings.

Gladstone is regularly attacked by creatures and demons originating from an old ritual circle at the centre of Wyr, which for some unknown reason refuses to close (despite several attempts). The 'Gribbley Gate' as it is known, caused the surrounding are, Wyr, to become an inhospitable land, as such, few creatures survive, however those that make it through are usually a threat. Stilgar, a gremlin, is the only known creature from the Wyr that has proven not to be hostile.
