Wicca is a nature religion that recognizes and respects natural forces and that is constantly growing.  Nature religions in one form or another date back to the beginning of human life.  Since we're not the only forms of life on earth, we believe we must respect nature as well as our fellow man.  We also recognize that everything has it's own power/energy.   Therefore rocks, trees, herbs, etc. all have a "certain type" of   "power/energy".  You can learn to use this power/energy.

The path of nature religions is about connection with all the living worlds in the nature framework (animal, bird, etc.)  It is also about the connection with the unseen world, (spirits, ghosts, elementals, etc.)  At the heart of Nature Spirituality is the knowledge that all beings (seen and unseen,, past, preset and future) are connected in kinship and that we can communicate with nature in all its forms to learn and understand. Wicca and other nature religions see a balance of power in the universe, masculine and feminine, and value neither above the other.  Wicca is first and foremost a religion.  It's a simple religion without a lot of hang-ups and negative attributes.  It's a religion of joy and sharing centered on harmony, growth, nature, and spiritual development with emphasis on spirit, mind, and body as one.

The power/energy in nature by itself is neutral, good and bad is a society concept.  The forces are commonly known as white or black, but those labels have nothing to do with if the forces are good or evil.  The Element forces are generally white, and the force of death is black.  There are witches that can use both white and black energies/forces and they are called gray.  You don’t need to be a witch or Wiccan to be able to use these energies/forces; there are many beings who can use these outside of a religious context.  Wiccans and other Pagans do not believe in the existence of a “devil”, that is a concept used by the Christian church. Most do recognize the existence of an evil force in nature, but do not worship or utilize it.
