Well, first all I suppose I should begin at the beginning. Well, I was raised in a very small community, a town called Martin in the southwestern part of South Dakota. This was a rural community, a majority of which was farmland. I began working on a ranch owned by John Long, my Uncle. My parents, William and Sidney, had hoped that I would eventually take over. However, this did not settle well with me, I had a free mind, and thought only of the stars. As luck would have it, I met a cadet, I can't remember his name anymore, and spoke with him. He told me all about StarFleet and offered to take me with him. I didn't even ask my parents, I just went with him and took my entrance exam. I did fail it the first time, but passed with flying colors the second time.
I was 15 when I got to enter the Academy. My parents had finally found me and wanted me to return home. As you can guess, I didn't. At age 17, I was given the opportunity to serve on my first starship. Admiral Sarek of Epsilon fleet had decided to allow me to be his Chief Science Officer onboard the USS Canada. The stardate was 4432.5, and I had finally been accepted as an officer. With little staff onboard, I was forced to take command several times, and earned the rank of Commander by stardate 4434.3. It was at this time that I was approached by Admiral Web of Alpha fleet. He offered to make me Captain and leader of Division 2 (or 3, I can't remember these days). I was given a ship to command, the USS Maurauder. The Maurauder was a Sovereign class starship, with a couple of modifications. I even recruited my best crew ever on that ship. I even gained the rank of Vice-Admiral on stardate 4444.6, but I left shortly thereafter. Several corruptions had occured in Starfleet Command, and I resigned. I then joined the Untouchables League briefly, then went freelance. I finally decided to reinstate myself into Starfleet, and was allowed to join Sierra Fleet around stardate 4447.2.
Currently, I am still in Sierra Fleet, and am now the Chief of Operations. And, about a week ago, SHE stepped into my life. I had been married once before, but it did not work out. Bridget Madison was in the Nexus, and I felt...something, I can't explain what. We hit it off right away, and were married a few days later. Several people will think of it as fast, but we both felt the time was right. Even though Bridget is in Alpha fleet, we manage to spend as much time together as we can. Even though the future cannot be predicted, I feel that mine is now complete. And, should you want to visit her, I have posted her current coordinates. I thank whoever reads this, and is not bored to death by it.
Captain Jared Long, Chief of Operations, Sierra Fleet
