The Reshtarc Family commands a mighty fleet of ships. These are manufactured by ReCAL (Reshtarc Combined Arms Limited)at the massive Mempa Shipyards in orbit of the planet Behacor Prime. Vor'cha S, K'vort and B'rel Class Vessels can be produced in mass for use by the Reshtarc Line and the Empire. |
Reshtarc Fleet capabilities: The Reshtarc provide the Empire with a powerful force of ships of various designs. The current strength of this fleet is 190 ships of the line. The Reshtarc deploy forty of its vessels for service in the Imperial Klingon Navy while the other 150 are used for line purposes. The Reshtarc rotate their vessels every six months although this policy is changing. Reshtarc doctrine has allowed for constant refits to most of its existing fleet these vessels are generally kept in service for at least ten years before being sold, scrapped or mothballed with the Reserve fleet. The current median age of most Reshtarc vessels is 6 years old with most having the most up to date technology available. The most numerous of the Reshtarc fleet is the B'rel scouts numbering some 53. The oldest are the K'Tinga class Cruisers which are being replaced by the Vor'cha "s" class. Once the K'tinga has been phased out the K't'eremy class destroyers will be next. The Reshtarc are currently employing a new class of vessel, the "Kinsyaha" Class . This class is a fast attack cruiser with long range mission and quick strike applications. The average Captains age is 36 in the Imperial Navy while it is 29 in the Reshtarc fleet. The current theory is that the coup of 2970 purged many of the captains who were resistant to change. The younger leadership while lacking in battle experience was forced into a accelerated training program. The program involved a intensive schedule of gunnery and maneuver drills as well as independent leadership courses (Piracy). The program was two fold first, it gave the officers of the fleet training in combat operations. Second, it provided the Reshtarc with a younger more active officer pool. The Reshtarc are known as merciless enemies in battle if Cardassian and Romulan sources can be trusted. They show very little remorse in killing and are known to destroy non- combatants and unarmed merchant ships. During the Klingon fleets stay at DS 9 several Reshtarc vessels were involved in the destruction of the Bajoran freighter. The freighter was carrying spare parts and technical personnel for a Federation Outpost along the Cardassian border. Further examples of Reshtarc atrocities can be sighted, such as the Reva 4 massacre. Admiral K'Paal zantai Reshtarc(19th Lord, 7th Dynasty) ordered his fleet to bombard the planet as well as execute Cardassian and Eldrun freedom fighters. While, the Reshtarc are not alone in the blame for the massacre the Line Lord was the man behind it. Currently the Reshtarc provide a large manpower pool which serves throughout the fleet in various capacities. Since no family can posses enough ships for the whole of the line many of the lines personnel serve on ships other than those owned by the Reshtarc. The current doctrine within the Empire is one of growth and Expansion of its Navy. The Reshtarc are also expanding their personal force as well, not that they are alone in this policy. Nearly 60% of House forces are kept for protection while only 40% serve in the Imperial Navy. |
