Finally closing in on the stolen orb of Aldur, the group ventures into enemy lands, with Garion becoming more and more of a leader. Under magical disguise, they penetrate into the very heart of the Murgo lands, to the Temple of Torak itself. There the final confrontation will occur between the disciple of Torak and Belgarath, the disciple of Aldur. Such battles do not come without a price, and as Belgarath is left weakened, Garion is left with the responsibility of getting the group out of the center of an enemy city, with the remaining enemy mages close behind.
Now, with the orb in their possession they must journey to the Isle of the Winds, where the orb will reveal the last of the mysteries surrounding Garion's past.
