#5 RESIDENT EVIL 2 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I rented RE1 and was not impressed. The graphics wer ok, but the voice acting was terrible. I think I could have done a better job than those people! So, I lloked at RE2 with mixed feelings. I had heard that it was a much better game, but I rembered my dislike of the original. However, thankfully, I gave it a rent. It was great! The voice acting was still a little weak, but a HUGE improvement over the first one! I bought it soon after. At the time, it was the scariest game I had played (that title has since gone to Silent Hill). The horror factor in RE2 is not so much in visuals, but in how Capcom used sound. The music, or more often, the lack of can really make RE2 spooky. And when you least expect it, monsters will crash through windows and walls! Especially in the second scenario! Oh, I better explain that... RE2 does something that gives it a large replay factor. After you beat the game, a whole new game opens up! It's almost totally different from the original! These are the second scenarios. For example, if you at first play as Leon Kennedy, a rookie Raccoon City police officer, after beating it, you will play as Claire Redfield, the brother of Chris Redfield from RE1, in the second scenario. And vise versa. These different orders of play give you different endings and truly enhance the world RE2 takes place in. As if that weren't enough, if you beat the game within a certain time limit, you get access to new weapons, such as a rocket launcer [see cheat #1]! ALSO (wow, Capcom put a lot of effort into this one!) 2 minigames can be opened. One minigame has you take control of a character named Hunk as he tries to escape the police station with only a certain amount of bullets and health recoveries. The other minigame sees you take control of Tofu who has to do the same except you only have a knife! VERY difficult (but I have done it... once!)! As you can see, RE2 has a lot to offer. I've written all this and haven't even described the game! Ok, a quick summery: Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy both stumble onto Raccoon City overrun by zombies! They both make it to the police station and they must solve puzzles and survive long enought to figure out what's happened to the city and what the nearby chemical company Umbrella has to do with it. RE2 is a great game with tons of replay! |
