.....STAR WARS: EPISODE 1 GAMES

With the movie just a month away, word about the new batch of Episode 1 based video games are starting to leak out! There are rumored to be FIVE Episode 1 games in development, but I have only received word on two confirmations. First there is Star Wars: Episode 1- The Phantom Menace, a third-person action game based on the entire movie. Then there is Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer, a racing game based on the pod race seen in the trailers. SW:E1- The Phantom Menace This game looks exciting! You play mostly as the young Obi-Wan Kinobe and the wise Qui-Gon Jinn in an adventure based on the plot of the movie. Of course, with the movie secrecy there is game secrecy, so not much is known. Force powers will be used minimally in the game, mostly having your character using the Force to push back enemies and leaping great distances. Besides, only a Dark Jedi uses mind control and lightning, right? Your main weapon will be, of course, a lightsaber, but there will be blasters involved as well. One cool feature I have heard about is the Auto-block. It's based on the principle that the Force guides your character's reaction to enemy fire, making you block them without having to actually press the button! I can't wait! SW:E1- Racer This game takes the pod race shown in the trailer and makes it an entire game! You race Anakin or your choice of available alien creatures in the pod races held all over the galaxy! On the N64 version there will be at least 12 racers on the screen at once with lots of action to be found! With the racing aspect is the ability to manage your pod, buying parts and repair droids and such. So far, it looks like a great time to be a Star Wars fan!
