Little is currently known about Jefferson Davis
and Mary Jane. Some confusion as the Carroll County
death records list her mother as Mary J. Bond. Perhaps
her mother had remarried. She died 5 days
after Oscar's birth.
J.D. or Jeff as he was
known started a store in the Coulson Community which was
in continuous operation for almost 100 years. The store
was continued by J.D.'s son, Oscar and Oscar's daughter
Helen.
J.D. and Mary's children are:
1. Luda Ellen (19-Dec-1886 to
19-Sep-1965) who married Joseph Withheld, and
2. Oscar B. (20-Dec-1890 to 7-Nov-1967).
J.D. and Margaret's children are:
1. Ethel B.
(28-Oct-1892 to 30-Nov-1960) who married Elmer
Withheld, and
2. Lottie Bell (13-Nov-1893 to
23-Mar-1987) who married William A. Withheld.
Johnson and both of his wives are buried in Robert Farmer Cemetery on Route 743 in Carroll County, VA.
