HEROES of GOTHAM |
|
Tim Drake/BATMAN -- John Cusack. Cusack is tall. And he can do funny, gravelly, and dark. All I had to do was watch Grosse Pointe Blank again to confirm this. He's got all the stuff to play the Batman of the future. | ![]() |
MICHAEL CARTER -- Bruce Campbell. This guy came within a HAIR of being the Batman, y'know? But I needed someone really cool (not to mention funny) to play ol' Booster Gold, and who's as cool as Ash? | ![]() |
The PENGUIN -- Nathan Lane. The Penguin looks as harmless as can be, which is his greatest weapon in his little war. While not technically a hero, neither is he a villain, so... well, I guess this is where he belongs. (; | ![]() |
VIGILANTE -- Dan Cortese. This man is built, people. He can do funny and angry. Vigilante helps those who need it, but he does it for a price. | ![]() |
SUPPORTING CAST | |
MARK GRAYSON -- Tom Skerritt. He's got the face and the voice that just says 'don't even think about it.' | ![]() |
JON ISAAC -- Bruce Willis. This man plays emotionally complex parts like none other. Imagine thusly: A detective who's in constant pain from a bomb wound, and now feels that he must compete with the Batman to retain his 'hero' status. | ![]() |
PAUL CHANDLER -- Ethan Hawke. Young and impetuous. Need I say more? Incidentally, Leonardo DiCaprio could've gotten this part had he been a little bit less spindly. (; | ![]() |
PATTY HOLLANDER -- Julianne Moore. This woman can act. She is who I see as Patty Hollander. 'Nuff said. | ![]() |
DONNA OLSEN -- Jennifer Aniston. Tim's eventual love interest (who's been under his nose the whole while) could be played by no one else. | ![]() |
ENNIS HOBBS -- Morgan Freeman. This guy rocks. No one else could even come close to the part of the 'Big Dog' of Drake Industries. | ![]() |
ALFRED -- John Cleese. I can't help writing a Brit accent into Alfred anymore than I can help making him such a wiseacre. And Cleese, well... 'nuff said. | ![]() |
DR. PAULA BONHAM -- Linda Fiorentino. After Men in Black, Ms. Fiorentino has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt to me how cool she'd be in this part. | ![]() |
VILLAINS |
|
The JOKER -- Beck Hansen. The Joker is a spindly little psycho. He doesn't even like to be called 'Joker' that much. Alternative musician Beck'd do a masterful job, y'know? He just likes to make folks happy... | ![]() |
ANGEL TUSCOTTI -- Al Pacino. Read Angel's lines in issue #5 with a Pacino gusto. See what I mean? Godfather parts II and III illustrate Pacino's perfection in this role to a tee. | ![]() |
ALUCARD HOLMES -- Alec Baldwin. The man could do it justice, people. I look at Holmes as a Lamont Cranston type; charming but dangerous. The Shadow knows... how to play this part to the hilt. | ![]() |
MR. OCTOBER -- Will Smith. On more than one occasion, Mr. October has been called back to his hometown of Gotham City on behalf of the Justice League. He's smooth as the shadows he can become, and kinda sullen. Will Smith has the ability to play this guy - even if 90% of his roles so far have been happy-go-lucky. | ![]() |
TINO MERANI/CLAYFACE -- Jon Voight. Tino's a fruit loop. Check out Mission: Impossible, Anaconda, or Most Wanted to see how nasty Voight can get as a villain. | |
MAXIE SWANN (aka the MAGISTRATE of the KANGAROO COURT) -- Robert Patrick. Sure, he didn't last long, right? But this is the comics. Folks can come back... | ![]() |
PRIESTESS of IVY -- Dana Delaney. Poison Ivy spawned a cult. Dana here is a good match for the... persuasive head of said cult. | ![]() |
CATWOMAN -- Bridget Fonda. Ever see Point of No Return? Same type of deal here; relatively quiet girl becomes killing machine. The circumstances are QUITE different in this case, but still! | ![]() |
DARK -- Russell Crowe. Dark is a living nightmare that shall attack Tim from within... Russell Crowe (who played a similar role in Virtuosity) has all the intensity needed to pull this off. | ![]() |
REVANCHE -- Denis Leary. The angriest guy in the universe PLAYING the angriest guy in the universe! Yes he'll talk a lot... and guess who he's angry at? | ![]() |
INSANITY'S WIFE -- Janeane Garofalo. She can warp reality and is very neurotic. Ms. Garofalo can portray neurotic in her sleep. | ![]() |
