The sabbat:
The Sabbat are a brutal sect existing within Kindred society. They believe that the mortal world exists for nothing more grand than to provide them with sustenance and sport. They also believe that the existence of Camarilla, and perhaps even Anarch Kindred represents a threat to their existence, and therefore wish them erradicated. The Sabbat came to be at the same time the original Camrillas were formed. Those Kindred who wished to remain care-free in their feeding and breeding and killing were the founding fathers of the modern Sabbat. Any Kindred, no matter what clan affiliation, could be a potential Sabbat, but there are two Clans which are notrious for being nearly exclusively Sabbat. These clans are the Lasombra, and the Tzimisce. They are universally loathed and feared by Camarilla Kindred, having earned a reputation for their horrifyingly sadistic treatment of the Kine. The Sabbat numbers also consist of a great deal of Kindred whose clans split during the formation of the aerly Camarillas. Within the Sabbat these Kindred are called Antitribu, and over time they have developed distinctive differences from their Camarilla cousins.
The Sabbat recruitment technique for mortals is quite disturbing. If you, as a mortal, are chosen to become a member, you get a special treat. Once you have been whacked over the head with the shovel, you are on your way to a glorious, if not notorious, existence within the ranks of the Sabbat. That is, of course, if you can manage to dig your way out of the grave they buried you in after they embraced you during your unconsciousness. 'Cause after all, if you are tough enough to get out of that predicament, you future looks bright. Then you are gathered with the rest of your potential packmates to partake in the Vaulderie. The Vaulderie is a ritual which requires each potential packmate to spill a bit of his blood into a chalice. Once all have done so, the chalice is then passed around, for all to partake. The result is a communal blood bond, called the Vinculum. This will make sure you stay loyal to the pack, and not to one particular Kindred. Sound intriguing?
