Live Action Vampire is derived from White Wolf Games' Mind's Eye Theatre, which was inspired by Vampire: The Masquerade. If you are not familiar with the Vampire: The Masquerade table-top RPG, I recommend you go to your nearest RPG dealer and buy the book. The setting varies, but the theme is the society, attitudes, morality(if any) and quests for power by Vampires. It is called the World of Darkness, in which exists many different types of Vampires(referred to as Clans), different societies of Vampires(such as Camarilla, Anarch, and Sabbat, to name a few), as well as Garou(werewolves), Wraiths, Mummies, Mages(though mages are not included in Mind's Eye Theatre), and a few other assorted supernatual types. Mind's Eye Theatre takes the concepts of the table-top game and converts them into a very player-friendly system in which you, as the player(as well as other players which can number up in the dozens), dress up(recommended) as your character and act out goals, power struggles, and such. The Storytellers(game masters, of which I am one) create the setting and theme for the particular game they are running, and immerse you into it, at which point you are free to interact with, combat, or manipulate the other charcters and NPCs(non-player characters) in the game.
