Myrd Arboris
Nature's unknown is said to have the greatest of all powers...
Myrd Arboris' life has been one of mystery. The earliest memory he can recall is one of him, at age twelve running naked through the woods from an unseen predator. Myrd does not know what the predator was, and what had happened to him before that moonlit chase. Luckily, some druids from Elventree heard his cries while worshipping in the Elven Court forest. They came to his aid and fended off the beast. The druids never told Myrd what they had saved him from. They would act rather grim every time he would ask them about that night.
Over the years, Myrd proved to be quite skilled at fighting, and had an appreciation for nature. The druids picked up on this quickly, and trained him as a ranger, a protector of the wilderness. Myrd and the druids lived in a small grove near a circle of standing stones in the Elven Court, just outside of Elventree. Over the years, Myrd became quite proficient in his craft.
One spring night, while Myrd was patrolling the woods, he heard a sqeal, and then a scream of panic not far off. Myrd decided to investigate, not wanting any life lost to a misunderstanding between nature and civilization. What Myrd came upon as he reached the source of the screams, was a small gnome, glowing frantically, and trying to scare off a pack of unperturbed and hungry wolves. Myrd used his his natural affinity with animals to intimidate and send away the wolves. This was successful, and the gnome, Stumpwubble Dragonwort, was inifintely thankful of Myrd.
After saving Stumpwubble from a pack of wolves, Myrd moved into Elventree, and became good friends with the diminuitive janitor of the House of Mysteries. Because of their friendship, Myrd and Stumpwubble feel compelled to aid each other in their quests. Myrd also hopes that Stumpwubble, or any other person well versed in the arcane arts, will be able to help him recall who he was before that moonlit night of feral terror...
