Shades of Grey by Richard D. Asplund Jr.
As a youth I was taught of wrong and right
Darkness was bad and good was the light
As I grew older how odd it seemed
That the light blinded and the darkness set free
In all m y life short as it's been there's hardly been a day
When I haven't lived in shades of grey
Power of evil and power of good clash in the light
Too in the darkness these forces fight
But never do they step into the shades of grey
Granted the road I travel is not the easiest of ways
But traveling through life you cannot see
All light as good and darkness as bad you need to look to your heart for the key
Because in your heart lies the shades of grey
