Lost by Richard D. Asplund Jr.
Looking back on yesterdays lost never knowing what might have been
A frightened child hiding, living my life on someone else's whim
Dropping everything I held dear to perform some meaningless task
"What I want matters not," I whisper donning another mask
Looking out onto a world I know not
Feeling nothing all sensation now gone from emptiness's rot
A lost child in a new world learning how to live life
A man whose soul is left to bleed by destiny's cruel knife.
