Lord Dark by Richard D. Asplund Jr.
In the night realms I rule all the darkness
I am the father of the Luna the gifted few
The night my mother and theirs our protector
For all eternity I guard the power of the dark
A Power that if in the wrong hands could damn us all
I am but a shade of the night a weaver of storms
I am Lord Dark the guardian of the Night Children
The Luna know me only as the Darksoul a lonely specter
I hunt for those that use the guise of Night to do evil
I am the Night for all her power is mine, all her love
I look into the eyes of a woman and wish I could dwell there
But mine is not that destiny, I am a hunter a demon of night
My power is great yet in the presence of a mere mortal I weaken
My heart is aflame and I yearn to speak to her
To tell her how I feel but mine is not that fate
I am Darkness not evil but that is the veil I take
The power of her presence all but destroys mine own
Ah but if it could be different but that is not to be mine
For I am a lowly night shade, the Lord Dark, the storm weaver
I am Darksoul that is my duty
I am Darkness that is my birthright
I am Alone that is my reward
I have another name from long ago in a realm where I was king
I am Forlorn that is my name now and forever
I am Forlorn that is my destiny
I am Forsaken that is my fate
