300 years after the fall of Sephiroth and the annihilation of Meteor, the planet is once again on the verge of destruction. The actions of the legendary AVALANCHE are but a mere memory, but as always, history has been distorted to favor those in power, and the so-called leader of AVALANCHE, Sephiroth, is held with the highest honor. But in such a desolate pit of a world, surely there must be some heroes to save it. But there are none. Heroes have gone the way of the Chocobos and are extinct. The NEO- Junon corporation, Rachwell, rules the planet with an iron fist, containing the towns in seemingly impregnable blister domes. But in the dark recesses of the ancient ruins of the Great Midgar, a secret lurks that could possibly prove to be the answer the people are looking for: the resurrection of the great hero, Sephiroth. But with such power at their disposal, the people are about to learn that history is not always on their side, and that heroes are not always who they appear to be. And in the end, it may take ghosts of days long past to vanquish an ancient evil in a very new form. The question at hand is this… will they even bother to protect people that they fought for once before, when in the end their reward was be forgotten and have everything that they fought for turn to dust?
