(for those of you wondering, the title is a real word, albeit ancient Germanic, and is pronounced roughly: get-uh-day-mer-ung)

It begins with the annihilation of Meteor, the explosion that results sends huge shockwaves throughout the mantle of the Planet, demolishing towns and ruining lives. But that is the least of the people’s worries.

The tremor from the explosion of Meteor frees a terrible WEAPON-esque creature from the depths of the planet, which proceeds to go on a murderous rampage. It all seems like another routine adventure for AVALANCHE until something begins to go wrong with Yuffie’s prized materia, Leviathan. The Leviathan frees itself from it’s crystal enclosure and proceeds to engage the ‘Behemoth’ in a fight to the death, which results in it getting very badly wounded. With Yuffie out of the picture tending to her summon, and the team seriously outmatched by the new threat, the team turns to Yuffie to find out what she knows about the creature and why Leviathan acted the way it did.

The results are less than joyous, and with their newfound knowledge of Wutai mythology, the team finds itself in a race against time against the creature in an attempt to stop the key event that will lead to the Wutai myth of the end of the world, Gottedammerung!
