It is the day or reckoning for Cloud and his band of rebels turned unsung heros, AVALANCHE as they prepare to confront Sephiroth at the center of the planet. But something is wrong. As they enter the crater, they find that someone has beaten them there and as they follow the trail of blood, they arrive just in time to see a mysterious person fell Sephiroth with a sigle blow and mysteriously vanish before their eyes. Soon, they discover that there is more to him then meets the eye, and that the challenge and threat he poses may not be enough for AVALANCHE to stand up against alone, making for most unlikely partnerships. But will even they be enough to withstand the awesome power of a ghost from the days before Sephiroth, an entity so powerful that it's power even humbles that of the Great Sephiroth himself? The fight not for the fate of the planet but for the very universe begins now!
