Command Center <Hunter HQ>
Monitors and computer consoles line the walls of this cavernous room. In the center of the room is a round computer with holographic display, its lights flashing busily as it processes information about mavericks, and their last known sitings. Computers along the walls are also occupied with an information processing task. Technicians and other Maverick Hunters run about hastily, monitoring the computers, and making sure the information is as accurate as it can be. The whole air of this room exudes purpose and drive, and the hustle and bustle seems neverending. On the south wall are two large bulletproof windows which gives you a view of the rooftop runway and Hangar Area. A large blast door in in the middle of the two windows, giving easy access to the landing strip.
Twila Peterson enters in from the runway, reaching up in order to unbind her hair. There's a lack of grease stains on her clothing, so more than likely she wore protective gear while helping out in some of the repairs. Unlike her brother. Rick seems to enjoy swimming in it. "Hey," she greets generically.
Dischord is just starting to put her feet up on a console as the other female enters, which causes her to just pause part way and look over. Sure the position would be akward, if not impossible for a human to hold, but for a person with built in anti-gravs like Disch, it's a piece of cake. "Heya Doc."
Twila Peterson offers a small mock, salute to both before approaching Dischord. "How goes?"
"It goes..." The Demoness says with a sigh and a shrug as she puts her feet back down on the floor. "Acording to Giga man, Rhaps claimed I was desperate and tried to set me up on a date with him. She evn went as far as to give him my number so he can radio me personally..."
Twila offers a frown. "Not the first time a Hunter slammed into a fellow Hunter over the public airwaves...." she comments. She's overheard the motormouth as well it seems. "Is the training going well enough?"
Dischord says, "I had one major exercise cancelled because no one showed up. I had Magma storm off on me threatening that he was going to talk to Zero because he didn't see why he needed to be trained, and of course he kept bringing up the fact he out ranked me. Hopefully Seismic is still working on his leason... And I managed to get feedback help me teach Signas the finner points of lounging around doing nothing."
Twila brings both eyebrows skyward, an almost audible "oh". "Sorry to hear they're not working out as well..." she mumbles, meaning it. She would have gone herself, had not work gotten in the way. There's also the fact that aside from some self-defense she's in no way combat oriented. She then changes the subject with a small sigh. "Rick's not around and there aren't too many I feel I can talk to about this. You free for right now?"
As Dischord begins to just float out of her chair, she nods once more, quirking an eyebrow. "For you Doc? I always have a moment."
Twila nods greatfully in response. Not knowing how else to comment, she takes the blunt and to the point approach, "If things don't start turning around here...I'm serious considering giving my resignation."
If Dischord is supprised by that comment, she doesn't show it as she disapears, and reappears next to the coffee maker. "I'm not sure what exactly to say Doc. I mean... *Sigh*"
Twila Peterson presses her lips together and remains silent for a few moments before admitting, "I don't exactly know what to think of it," she says quietly. "The organization hasn't ever really recovered from the...Seige against Repliforce. And it seems to have just slowly gone downhill. I've been here long enough to know that the infighting, the publically demeaning of teammates, and so on and so forth aren't the run-of-mill, normal banter. And with a few of the Hunters advocating violence regardless if there are any civilans caught up in the conflict...to me it doesn't sit well."
"Who does it sit with well Doc?" The femme hybrid says as she closes her eyes. "You know as well as I do, that I dislike how things are going more or less. Ah've disliked pretty much since before the Eurasia incident. Heck, I'm hoping my training will help deal with some of these things, if I can actually get these guys around to be trained. I'm not sure it'll work, but ah've still gota try something. As is you know some of the other options I've considered."
Twila Peterson nods slowly to herself. "What is it about this place? Whenever Rock's absent it seems to start falling apart and the Squad COs don't take their responsibility."
Dischord says, "Dunno." before she pours herself a cup of coffee, and takes a sip. "Maybe it's the fact he's the thing that everyone imediately thinks of, when they hear the words 'Maverick Hunters'. Maybe it's because of all the high profile stuff that he's done involving the Mavericks, Masters, and Stardroids. Maybe it's because he's more or less become Lights unoficial heir, and since we trust Light, we trust Rock...... I dunno... All I can do is guess."
"Maybe," Twila echos. "But one would think the homefires could be kept well lit whenever he goes away..." And pulls one of his dissappering acts. But that, she doesn't say aloud. Although she does muse over the fact she may not have known him as well as she thought she had...once. "Or keep him held accountable just as the otehr Hunters should be doing with eachother. Either that or maybe I'm getting old and set in my ways," she half-heartily jests.
Dischord nods at that, quirking an eyebrow at that last part, before shrugging. "All of those are possible, Doc. And I agree. He should be held acountable. Or at least acountable enough to have something set up just in case. But I guess that's not either here, not their right now."
The young woman leans back in her seat, idly wondering where her brother has been in all this. Of course, knowing him he may have either been too busy or simply not wanted to deal with the faction's present state. "In the past for the most part I've been able to deal with it. But not when things are allowed and going unchecked as they are. I don't want to feel like I'm running when the chips are down. There are those here that I care a great deal about. But neither do I want to be a part of something I feel that will someday for me to make a comprimise. Or continue to be see as some sort of security risk."
(Ch. B []) Adler Blau transmits: 'Uh, not that I usually object to frisky girls, but who's the one running around the medical bay?'.
(Ch. B []) Fugue transmits: '*cough* That's Jane. She's, err... mine.'.
(Ch. B []) Fugue transmits: 'You're also not her type.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Fugue.. keep yer daughter on a leash.'.
(Ch. B []) Adler Blau transmits: 'Hrmph, how do you know I'm not her type?'.
(Ch. B []) Fugue transmits: 'Unless someone deactivated the field, she should
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Can't she be moved to a cell? The med center is for patients, not captives.'.
(Ch. B []) Fugue transmits: 'She's NOT a captive.'.
(Ch. B []) Adler Blau transmits: 'She seems to be playing with some sort of metool...'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'According to Light she is a patient, Twila. Hell, she keeps it up, she may get higher access than you.'.
(Ch. B []) Fugue transmits: 'She'll be out within a few days. And that's her pet.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'And what's that supposed to mean, Zero?'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'At least with Fugue's daughter, we -know- she tells the Masters things about us. No telling how much you've leaked with all your stays.'.
(Ch. B []) Fugue transmits: 'Hey now, that's not quite fair, Zero.'.
(Ch. B []) Adler Blau transmits: 'Speaking ill of the dear Miss Peterson is unnessesarilly cruel! She is a tender beautiful flower of womanhood and must be spared such vile and base insults.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'That was totally uncalled for, Zero and you know it. I can't help my sitiation with the Masters and you have absolutely no right to ridicule or slander me because of something not under my conttol. Futhermore...if I had been asked or 'leaked' anything I would have reported on it...just as I made honest reports on anything else.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'She's also a professional hostage, and what info she has on that little medical device of hers could rather easily be used against us.'.
(Ch. B []) Adler Blau transmits: 'The fact she gets kidnapped so much is not a deliberate choice of hers! I have examined the financial files, Zero, you've caused quite a bit of damage to our own base when you throw one of your fits. You are not in a place to talk.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'No offense, Mom, but it's getting rather repetitive.,'.
Dischord says, "You aren't a security risk Doc. So don't go there. Just between you and me, I'm probably a bigger one than you'll ever be." The Merc replies as she slowly drifts over to a chair before sitting in it. "And, once more I'll agree. This is worse than anything we've faced in the past internally. And I'm not sure what to do either. But as I said, I'm trying to do something to change things. Maybe you should find something you can do to possibly change things for the better as well?"
Twila Peterson sets her jaw and knocks some discks from the consoles board in an unchararacteristic fit of anger, not finding anything to say to Dischord for the next few minutes.
(Ch. B []) Dischord transmits: 'And this is coming from a guy who was kidnapped, and reprogramed by Wily, only to be captured by Sigma and dropped off outside of Light Labs in a Tutu? Geesh....'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Blau, shut up before I make you -eat- last year's financial statement.'.
(Ch. B []) Dischord transmits: 'A pink tutu at that...'.
(Ch. B []) Fugue transmits: 'Hey, do you have a picture of that?'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Maybe I can ask Rick to pull out ever single one of your medical files for you, Zero. And you have something against repetitive, go talk to your father and your brothers. I thought you were a friend...but all your becoming is a sword-touting bully.'.
(Ch. B []) Dischord transmits: 'No. But I do have a recording of Zero telling me that story.'.
(Ch. B []) Adler Blau transmits: 'I dislike causing internal strife, Zero, but when you insult a woman who has done you no ill. I must stand up and defend her. If you wish to come down here and attempt to slam my body all across the medical bay, and -prove- you are nothing but what Twila just said you are, go ahead.'.
Twila Peterson finlly gets out, "Maybe Zero being given a full cranial exam would do the trick..."
Dischord just sighs at that, before nodding. "Good idea Doc. Good idea..."
(Ch. B []) Fugue transmits: 'Thanks, Dischord, but it's not quite the same... And guys? Drop it, or I'll have to come over there.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Blau.. I SAID SHUT UP! *growled* And Twila, next time you decide to go out by yourself, take some DAMN protection with you! Hell.. Blau, you're so intent on defending her.. you're her permament escort. Congratulations.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Then you best talk to Zero, Fugue...he was the one who spouted the unfounded allegations and slander,'.
Twila Peterson raises her fingers to rub against her temples. "He's known of these issues a long time by now...and knows I really have no control over it. Why now of all times? He's one of the reasons why I considering resignation."
Dischord nods at that, before slamming down her coffee, her eyes just starting to glow. "Then don't! Giving that <Series of censored explatives> what he wants will only make things worse. Trust me on this, Doc."
Twila Peterson grunts in frustration. "Then what? Apparently none if the other the other COs are willing to do anything about his attitude."
Dischord does take a deep breath at that, before shrugging. "What other COs do we have right now? I mean when was the last time you saw Swing? I can't recall myse;f. And you know your brother better than i do. And I haven't seen jazz ever since Signas came back from his vacation... And Mike.... Well he's just starting to remind me of Blues lately..."
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'And I meant it, Blau. Twila gets out of your sight when she ain't in the base, and it's your ass. Got it?'.
(Ch. B []) Adler Blau transmits: 'Uh, whats with Jane? I think I'm making her brain melt? Is she ok?'.
(Ch. B []) Fugue transmits: 'What's going on?'.
(Ch. B []) Adler Blau transmits: 'Well she's stuttering and acting confused. I usually have that affect on girls, but not like this'.
"My point exactly. It's their responsibility to keep things like this under control," the girl states firmly.
Dischord takes a deep breath. "All right then. lets try a diferent aproach. If you had the ability to change the Hunters any way you wanted. just what would you do, and how?"
In response Twila folds her arm over her chest and seems to let out the breath Dischord had taken in. "My way? For one thing have it somewhat more organized, have those in charge more active, have a checks-and-balance system set up to hold one another accountable. And discipline those who think they have a right to publiclly quetsion or belittle their teammates. It's very bad for morale."
Dischord nods once more, "And how'd you get those people more active? Punish them? Replace them? How? With who? And what kinds of checks and balances?"
Great...she's making her think now. Twila let's out another low breath before responding. "For one thing, use diciplinary action and put it in place. Have the Squad Co's report in on a scheduled baises. If it's failed to be kept up they get a strike against them. Proveribal three strikes and the CO is out and replaced with someone who would be able to do the said job. As for the checks and balances, everyone holding everyone else accountable, put in writing the purpose of the Maverick Hunters, what's expected of the Maverick Hunters, and what's not expected and won't be tolerated. I'm not stating anything like thr rules and regulations that government agencies and organizations have...but something for everyone to go by. A boundry. That way everyone knows where is is they stand...and what fences they can cross and what not."
"I see..." Gee is that all Disch can say as she ponders things over? Geesh... "And I take it this is only the begining of what you'd do?"
"It's a start..." Twila muses in a thought. "Although none of that basic stuff would work if those who would be partaking in it ignored it either. Guess I'm the type who kinda expects others to know the responsibility and take it on accordinly if they're going to accept a position or job. Would also expect them to help out the CO in managing the faction too. The Co shouldn't have it all on his shoulders. That's what the Squad leaders are for...to help out with the smaller stuff."
Dischord can't help but nod at that before taking another sip of her cafinated drink. "Agreed. Now here's another question for you... A sorta big one... Who have you sugested these changes too?"
Twila pulls her mouth into a frown. "I thought we already established that no Squad Commander has been around to really speak to. And Dr. Light and the rest of the Doctors have been notably answered as well. I left a message that I needed to speak with Rick about some serious matters, this being one of them, as soon as possible. Other than you, tho...no one. I'm not certain who *too* talk to that would really listen."
"Perhaps.... Perhaps..." Uh-oh... Looks like Disch is trying to be evil again. "You might want to list all of them in a short message that can be sent to /all/ of the commanders. Preferably in the form of interpersonel mail, but have it known you sent them to all the commanders... And maybe even their XOs. I'd even sugest going as far as filing a general report that everyone can see... Thing is you might get some major backlash from certain Hunters over it if you do that...."
Twila Peterson nods slowly. "Yeah...I was thinking about the 'general report' for awhile. But the backlash was something that I knew I would had to expect as well....especially from those who are a good-sized chunk of this problem as well. And if they can't see there's a problem...it'll be a bit worse. But heck, someone's gotta start doing something."
Dischord says, "Yeah. But you'll also have to deal with some who just feel that the world revolves around them, or those that just have their afts up the afts of any commanders who are blind to the facts."
The young woman dips her chin. "I realize that...which is one of the reasons why the courage needs to be built up in order to do it."
Dischord takes a deep breath, before smiling faintly, "If you want my opinion, you should do it. It's needed, and it'll help a /lot/."
Twila sits up a bit straighter. Her eyes drift towards the surrounding computer equipment. Her reflection falls against the screen of one of the monitors, betraying her look of concern. "I have no doubts that it should be done. And I'd be willing." In fact, she may either do so tonight or first thing tomorrow. "But I'm wondering if there's anyone who would really be listening. I'm a medic. Other than that, my opinions don't seem to account for very much."
Dischord takes a deep breath as she starts to get up, and yawns. "You may be a medic Doc, but you've been around the labs a /lot/ longer than I have. And in my book, experience, and seniority in whatever its forms count for something. Especially when you know your right, and you know people will agree with you."
"Guess...I have some mailings to write then..." Twila states, already trying to mentally phrase what it is she'll write. "Thanks for talking to me about this, Disch. It helped."
Dischord says, "No prob Doc. It's what I'm here for. Well that's if you don't count my being ignored by other Hunters, and my being treated like a second class Hunter..." then blinks out of the room.

SUBJECT: Current Status of the Hunters
To Whom It May Concern,
Over the past few months I have noticed a certain decay within the organization since the seige on Repliforce Island. In my personal opinion the Squad Commanders generally have bene lax in their duties. In turn, the atmosphere within said organization has deteriated. As of late there's been alot of internal distress regarding fellow Hunters demeaning, ridiculing, and disrespectful between one another whether within Light Labs or in public. There's also been questioning of integrety withuout given foundation. There's also been advocacy, by some, to be unconcerned of civillians who happen to be within combat zones, something which troubles me greatly since this would mean placing in danger the very ones we Maverick Hunters agreed to help protect.
And the above have been undertaken by both the regular Hunter as well as Squad Commanders.
I only ask these concerns be reviewed and taken under consideration. Thank you.

**TEXT ONLY**
Over the past few months I have noticed a certain decay within this organization since the seige on Repliforce Island. In my personal opinion this includes:
1. Squad Commanders generally have been lax in their duties and not remaining active with/out the Hunter CO's absence.
2. The atmosphere within said organization has deteriated drastically.
A. There's been alot of internal distress regarding fellow Hunters demeaning, ridiculing, and disrespectful between one another whether within Light Labs or in public.
B. There's also been questioning of integrity without given foundation.
C. There's also been advocacy, by some, to be unconcerned of civillians who happen to be within combat zones, something which troubles me greatly since this would mean placing in danger the very ones we Maverick Hunters agreed to help protect.
D. There's been no disciplinary action for those who are advocating the demeaning, ridicule, or possible harm to either fellow Hunters or civilians. In some strong ways, silence equals acceptance.
I only ask that these concerns be thought over seriously...as well as a review on the reason why the Maverick Hunters exist as well as why and how the Maverick Hunters take up arms.

Alright Twila, you've had your moment. Now it's my turn to respond as I see fit. So buckle up kids, it ain't gonna be a fun ride.
1. Squad Commanders generally have been lax in their duties and not remaining active with/out the Hunter CO's absence.
Actually, I don't see how you can possibly say this. See, Dischord has been running a training mission, as she asked me to do. Most of the squads, as lax as they may be, have been more than capable of covering for each other. But let's get to the heart of the problem. Rock's gone. Deal. When he comes back, then everyone will welcome him back, and swamp him with leadership requests. That's dandy. Proto was in charge. He's gone too. So.. you get me. I ain't exactly the best of leaders, but you know what? I get the job done. If you don't like it, there's the door, leave your clearance card on the desk on the way out.

A. There's been alot of internal distress regarding fellow Hunters demeaning, ridiculing, and disrespectful between one another whether within Light Labs or in public.
Now, we're in the heart of the problem. I'm sorry your precious feelings got hurt by what I said, but you know what? As of late, YOU HAVE BEEN A LIABILITY, TWILA. The Robot Masters know they can target you openly and freely, and will get whatever information you feel like giving them. Some orginizations would have stripped your access to classified records a long time ago after the -first- such incident, not after the fifth or sixth or however many bi-weekly jaunts you've been on with the Masters as of late.
B. There's also been questioning of integrety without given foundation.
Again, this is a personal problem. I get called a Maverick all the time, I deal with it. Stop taking it up to the chain of command. If you walk like a duck, talk like a duck, and act like a duck, then you must be doing something wrong. I'd love nothing more than for you to prove me wrong. Stop treating the Masters like your kids. Kick them, slap them, spray mace in their eyes, but for PETE'S SAKE, stop letting them take you away when you feel like getting away from the Labs for a bit!

Last I checked, Twila, everyone makes the best effort neccessary to assure that the combat zone is cleared. What happens during the fight, we can't do anything about. If you're referring to Plum.. well.. it sucked to be her, and she shouldn't have been there with a camera while I was handing Action his aft. If you're referring to that scum Action.. maybe you should ask him why he let Sigma take him willingly, and why he -challenged- me in the first place. In conclusion.. you're out of the loop, Twila, and you took something said to you personally and tried to turn it into a factionwide referrendum. You want to complain, that's fine, but don't try to drag the whole of the Hunters in to support you.
- Zero out.

Concerns that have been expressed were speaking of the Maverick Hunters as a whole...not personal problems despite the fact that I have been a target of some of the disrespect and slander. However, the point is the Maverick Hunter organization has some deep internal affairs that need to be seen too. I only ask that these concerns be looked into and reviewed, not ignored.
If my opinions are disagreeed with, they are disagreed with...but there is no cause for taking these concerns as a personal afront when no afront was given. As per my knowledge this is a forum concerning Maverick Hunter affairs, as which I have stated...not one for public opinon.

SUBJECT: Zero & Other Concerns
I haven't been able to peg you down lately, but I need to speak to you about several serious matters. One of which being the laxity of the Squad Commanders during Rock's absense. There are other concerns too, I'll hold off until I speak to you.
However, one I did need to mention. Zero's been a bit more abraisive, abusive, and bloodthirty lately. To me and well as others. In my case tonight was about the third or forth time when he pubilicaly question my integrety and labled me as a "security risk" due to all the past times when I would be carted off by Masters so they can have fun with "Mommy". I've been accused of betraying Hunter secrets, something of which I was *never* asked about, and would never betray even if I was. I've given thorough reports whenever I was taken and unless he has just cause assert his claims, he should do it in a forum within the base with the fellow Squad Commanders and the CO...not broadcast it over the airwaves like he has been. He's also been advocating that Hunters not be concerned of the possibility of harming civilians in combat situations.
Please get back in touch with me A.S.A.P.
