----------------------------------------------
Ruby's Diner
The inside of the diner is very retro, adoring in pop culture knick-knacks from the dawn of the millennium. Pictures of famous movie stars at the time, newspaper clippings about the infamous Y2K bug and the sort adorn the walls.
Twila Peterson steps into the diner, looking slightly pale after her experience elsewhere in the city. She radioed in Repliforce Headquarters ahead of time and was told she was currently held on reserve...but could be called back to the island on short notice. She takes in a deep breath, removing her hands from the pockets of her jackets, and sits at a small side-table, not readily recognizing anyone else for right now. Save a Repliforcer sitting nearby. But...he looks as if he's resting. She's soon looking over a menu...trying to find something to settle her stomach.
Something a greasy hamburger and fries wouldn't do.
Twila Peterson glances up from her menu for a few moments, glancing back towards a Repliforcer who's apparently sleeping. Erm...isn't that a good way to get a stiff neck the way he's sleeping? When the door chimes again several moments later she blinks. Well, look who it is. And seems her knows what he wants for dinner. She only wished she did.
Job pauses for a moment upon entering and lightly browsing his procured Menu. "Oh hey Twila. How you doing? Mind if I join ya for a bit?"
Twila Peterson gestures the seat across from her. "Feel free," she states. She offers the Repliforcer another glances, making sure he's all right. (Yes, mother_hennish skills again coming to the fore.) "Thanks any better?"
Job sits down. "Heh. I can't even eat to be honest I just pay for a meal and take it when I diced to leave here and give it to who ever wants it.
Twila Peterson smiles a little towards that. "Guess it would get kind of boring where you're currently residing she notes. "Everything else alright?"
Phoebus blinks...once....twice, now awake, stretches again...and sighs.
The Repliforcer is offered a small wave of recognition to the young woman while she converses with the interesting reploid with the odd exterior.
Job says, "So how goes it in Repliforce.. think about it you are the first human there."
The criminals return to the scene of the crime from time to time. So it's been known as well how the predator sometimes tends to return to a place where the prey has resided.
In the alley behind the diner itself, an armored figure lands with a hard *CLANK* of metal boots on the pavement. A split second later, there's a swirl of orange, and from behind a convenient dumpster, a figure emerges. Long black hair swaying gently behind him, he affixes his visored shades over his eyes, obscuring his upper facial features, then smirking slightly, before he turns and pushes open the door leading to the kitchen, stepping inside.
Twila Peterson hmmms as she glances back towards her present companions. "Well, it's...differnt," she responds. "A little more quiet than the Labs I will say. Although, kinda miss it to be honest." And she has a feeling she would be needed more there than on this Mission. But she did agree to it and won't fall back unless asked. She then questions the Repliforcer, "Want to join us?"
Phoebus nods silently and walks towards the two of them... "I don't need a recharge.."...he says without looking at Job.
Bass makes his way through the kitchen area...pausing only briefly when he receives an angry retort from one of the staff for going where customers aren't supposed to. He pointedly ignores the man however, and reaches out to push the door to the main area open, stepping out into the dining area, and panning his glare about. At first he's looking for a shock of long blonde hair...and when he doesn't see it, he scowls just a bit deeper in annoyance.
It's then that his glare pans around the room, finally settling on a shock of red hair...and the woman it belongs to. His scowl deepens even further...
Job halts reading the menu. "Ya...and I'm not built out of battle salvage." Job turns his attention back to Twila. The Sniper Joe like reploid does not see El Fin boy minus the fins. "So which labs do you work at Twila?"
.oO(Hmmm...well...he looks it.)Oo. Twila thinks regarding the Repliforcer, but certainly doesn't say. She's too polite. Since her attention is on the Repliforcer as well as the mech nearby she doesn't readily notice Bass when he exits from the back really.
Would it help if she had eyes installed at the back of her head?
Light Labs actually. Maverick Hunter. Medic," she explains. Her glances goes back to Phoebus and she slightly narrows her eyes. Not needing a recharges. Feh...right. Not!
Bass continues to glare for a few seconds, as if considering. Then his eyes travel towards Job, and he blinks once behind his visor. A Sniper Joe? Wait...not quite looking the part in full. After a few seconds, he comes to the conclusion that it must be either a reprogrammed drone, or scavenged for spare parts. It -does- seem to be talking...so the likelihood of a mindless drone is nil.
After a few seconds, he makes a decision of his own, and takes several steps forward, now rapidly approaching the table that Twila and Job sit at, coming to a halt a mere foot away.
Oh sure, he may be wearing those shades..but Twila can probably just -feel- those crimson eyes boring into her back right now.
Phoebus takes this moment to yawn again...stretching as he does it...He certainly looks tired... He turns around and sits down in a nearby chair but not necessarily one at the table Job and Twila are at. He looks towards Bass, sighing to himself.
Job sets down the menu and looks over at the guy in the glasses and shrugs not realizing it is the Hell spawn known as Bass aka behind his back as Fish boy and El Fin Boy. "Evening sir" Job then goes back to talking to Twila. "You work for Dr. Light, eh? Well that is a surprise ... So what is the Doctor really like?"
Indeed she does. Much like she did in that storage room she had been allowed out of a short while ago she begins to have a queasiness within her stomach. Bleah...maybe it's better if she doesn't have anything to eat after all. But what could be---? Here is the part where Twila turns around in her seat, having the dreaded thought of .oO(Someone's coming from behind you stupid!!)Oo. The reploid's she's with are somewhat forgotten as she turns around to glance towards the individual Job just now addressed. Oh boy...well, it could be someone that just LOOKS like a certain someone...maybe...right? "Uh...can I help you?"
Either that or paranoia is working overtime.
Bass continues to stare down at Twila for the longest time, the edge of his mouth curling back ever so slightly into a half sneer. "Yes...I think you can..." he breathes, reaching up with his hands to pinch his shades between a thumb and forefinger, and remove them, revealing his red pupilled eyes...and the unmistakable tattoo patterns on each cheek as well.
Twila lets out a breath and turns about in her seat. .oO(Why me?)Oo. her thoughts scream as her skin changes a shade of pale. Hoping that the Sleeping-But-Don't-Need-Recharging Repliforcer as well as the civilian don't plan on attempting to be overly heroic or whatnot. "Oh...hi, Bass," she says in deflated greeting.
Phoebus no longer looks tired actually as he stands up...and barely stops himself from glaring at Bass. He looks towards Twila...looks towards Bass...and then looks at Job...staring long and hard at him...and then looks back to Twila.
Job if he had facial features right now he would have a dawning looks of utter horror. But with his Sniper Joe not emotion is visible. Job looks Bass over with his optic scanner panning back and forth silently. oO(OH #$$^##!#)@!#*)@)#@ #!@#@#!!!!)Then fear gets the better of his logic systems. "Ummm... Oh shi@ it is BASS!" The olive green reploid manages to keep from falling out of his chair though as his right hand twitches. The reason for this twitch is Job is righting the urge to bring his Arc cannon on line. (You know bind terror sort of thing...)
Which...could be more of a problem for the diner unless Bass were to start making a nuisance of himself anytime soon. And if weapons were brought out...he would certainly react. Twila let's out a sigh, berating herself for blabbing her mouth regarding the Master's identity and merely asks quietly, "So, what's your business here?"
"Curious..." Bass growls then, moving his glare from Twila, to Job for a few seconds. His eyes narrow as he studies the creation for a few moments. "...a drone gone astray perhaps? Or merely salvaged from the nearest junkyard for much needed spare parts? I'd consider dragging it back for reprogramming and instigation into the proper ranks once more...if I considered the effort barely even worth my time." With that, he snarls and brings his attention back to Twila once more. He is unaware of Phoebus' glare, actually having his back to the Repliforcer at the moment. Indeed, he's concentrating on her for the moment. "I think you know very well what my business here is..." Bass grunts, right hand twitching slightly. "...now are you going to come along? Or do I have to drag you out....again?"
Job oO(THANK YOU GOD! I'm below El Fin boy's notice.. Oh Thank you thank you thank you.) The reploid seems to be .. actually relived at Bass' tough lashing about how below his notice he is. "Like she said, what's your business here?"
Just as Job asks his question, and even more volatile threat slams the door open with a hand, and bellows an animalistic howl into the diner that literally shakes the windows, but, unlike most rage filled blasts of sound, this one comes out as "COFFEE! SUGAR, CREAM, AND CINNAMON!" Oddly enough, charging head long into Ruby's is a rather dubious customer draped in a trench Coat, which obviously hides nothing but his shoulders. His chest is far too wide to be concealed
Snarling under his breath, he stands up straight, only to be whacked in the head by a ceiling fan, to which he responds with a large bite taken out of it's side, and kneeling down below the next blade, careful not to make such a mistake again. Spitting out the piece of table, he continues on at a slower pace, though each one of his foot steps seems to make some of the tiles on the floor slide out of place by a few inches; in an odd, and somewhat considerate gesture, he slides them back with the toe of his foot and keeps walking, oblivious to everyone else in the Diner.
Does Twila have much of a choice? She well remembers the words that this...*thing* had told her of what would happen if she didn't comply. "No, you don't have to," she states...as she moves to stand up, certainly not wanting any trouble or a fight to break out. Would help though if someone with an internal radio blurted something over the airwaves if they could. "Just leaves these people be, alright?"
Phoebus -does- however look at the...newcomer...and grumbles under his breath irritably...He isn't quite sure if it would be the best thing to radio in...a massacre might happen...Oh well, let command deal with how to deal with...the situation. He already knows what's going to happen. He's going to get to answer a bunch of obvious questions like: Is Bass causing mass destruction and Is Bass eating cookies and cream ice cream?
(Ch. B [Rep/Hunter]) Phoebus transmits: 'Bass is at Ruby's Diner.'.
(Ch. B [SecDef]) Anthem transmits: 'Recomend the tuna melt.'.
(Ch. B [Rep/Hunter]) Phoebus transmits: 'Alright.'.
Bass is already starting to reach out towards Twila's arm, apparently ready to make off with her like a scolded child again. He offers a glare towards Job, narrowing his eyes slightly as he bites out, "Silence drone...before I change my mind and decide to re-introduce part of your structure to Wily's ranks." At this point of course, is when the other newcomer arrives, and he blinks, his hand stopping halfway towards it's goal of Twila's arm. His head snaps over towards the arrival, glare darkening considerably at this...interruption. Who dares?
Phoebus looks towards Bass and quite seriously... totally seriously... absolutely seriously... says, "...If you will be eating here, Anthem suggests the Tuna Melt. I second the notion since Anthem generally knows what she is
(Ch. B [Rep/Hunter]) Phoebus transmits: 'Okay. ... I suggested the tuna melt...'.
Spark Mandrill , sliding to a stop and causing only more damage to the floor as tiles curl up around the sharp, metallic points of his feet, he croons out in a deep Siberian accent, "Coffee...", repeating himself as a scared service girl shakily hands him a styorophome cup with the condiments he requested already added in and frothing over the top of the glass. With a grin, he chugs the cup of coffee in a single gesture and chuckles under his breath before shifting his primate head towards Twila, not at all recognizing the girl- after all, he never participated in any missions dealing with kidnap, or raiding the Mav. Hunters. .. as a matter of fact, he's had as little to do with the Mav. hunters as possible, aside from one or two small scuffles. All in all, he shrugs her off... his attention grabbed by the Joe, he smirks and pokes at him from down the bar-top and chuckles, "They give one of you a brain, eh? Hehe... this Wily is too much, no?".
Once again his head moves, slowly this time, towards Phoebus... completely oblivious to this one as well, "Hrm... nice haircut..." even though he didn't even look to the top of his head, he pays the off-kosher compliment out of lack of anything else to say, and finally, about two shots of coffee later, he stares, cold-eyed, into the face of Bass. "... Oh... Hello, little Hero's Devil." A rather fitting title, even though somewhat childish.
Job looks over at the newcomer who is like their provable bull in the china shop. Then he quickly snaps his attention backs to Bass. oO(Fine call me a drone. Wily's lackey. What I would give to be able to knock that smug look off your face....) Job watches Bass reach for Twila and comes to a decision. oO(I he tries to hurt her.. I will do my best to .. help...)Oo.
Well...as long as Bass has his distraction it at least gives Twila enough time to subtly tap on her watch...but it's not only a watch. It's an emergency beacon someone from base made for her in case of dire emergencies. After activating, she lowers her arms again as if nothing had happened.
(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: '***Twila's personal emergency beacon - Location: Ruby's Diner***'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'I'm on it.'.
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Be careful.'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'Compliant. I'm getting a workout tonight, for Certain.'.
Bass's eyes narrow, to dangerous slits, as he glares straight at Spark Mandrill now. Suffice it to say, he's less than amused. Unknowingly, the Maverick has just saved Twila from the Dark Knight's attentions. By delivering that last 'name'...he's ensured that he has Wily's chosen's full attention.
With that, a step forward is taken, as Bass advances, an orange swirl beginning at the bottoms of his feet, and whirling its way upwards in a twirling vortex. His civilian clothes are eaten away in the process, leaving his heavily armored form in its wake.
"Say that name again...please..." he breaths, raising a white gloved hand, clenched into a fist. "I'd LOVE to see you muttering it on your lips as I wipe the smirk forcibly from your f..."
A split second later, realization sets in. Distraction...distracted. He let himself be distracted, and sure enough, his glare shoots towards Twila, accusingly. Innocent act or no, he glares straight at her, his mouth curling open enough to show his clenched teeth in a near animalistic snarl.
Spark Mandrill says, "What did I say? 'Hero's Devil'? This is not a good thing?", questioning himself, and unwittingly uttering the name again, he scratches his stiff-goattee'd chin, and smirks, "I think it works, though. Really, with a leettle word fumbling... eet...could be..." obviously his accent is stronger at times, and less exacting others... "It could be... What is...word.. Ah, 'Fitting'.. that is.""
Phoebus facepalms slowly.
Twila swallows hard, trying to keep her calm...especially upon seeing Bass enraged by his own folly. But honestly...what did he expect her to do? Just stand there? She steps out of the booth and into the isle, even as his deadly gaze again slices into her...
Moira has responded to three other incidents today, and this.. is her fourth. Having parked the Phantom off a little ways and blinked across from the Diner, she's unshouldered her .80 AWC and is in the process of unfolding the tripod. She works hurriedly, not knowing how much time she has, or what is going on... until her eye hits the scope. A breath is taken in. The zoom is panned out, taking in that massive picture window in front - the one Meredith looked out and saw Bass that day when she shot his eye out. There's Bass... Her cross-hairs move up, across, to settle upon ol' Finhead.
Back somwhere in the kitchen loud cursing can be heard as Bass reveals himself...as well as a few cabinet doors slaming...
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: '...Bass. I see Twila. A few others.'.
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Great. Do not engage Moira, unless Twila's life is in immediate danger. Bass is too much.'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'Someone else is responding?'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'And what is my favorite brother up to now?'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'Zero!'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: '*sounds of knuckles cracking* And more importantly, will it give me more good reason to beat the everlasting crap out of him?'.
(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Solar Draco transmits: 'Bass? Great..'.
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'ZERO! Man, am I glad to hear you... I was about to ask Repliforce to help... do you wanna talk to him. I think he's in your restaurant.'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'He has Twila and a few others hostage in Rubies.'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: '...There's some other nut in there too, by the way he's pacing.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'On route, and I'm dragging Fugue along whether she likes it or not.'.
Spark Mandrill actually starts Pacing, a few steps at a time, and, being the ever present bother he is, he stands right in the way of Moira's cross-hairs and glances up at the roof, "But it is good name. I actually thought about eet..... at Brunch with Mosquito person."
Phoebus almost gives Spark a pleading look to go away...but then sanity prevails and he simply sets his hand on one of his compartments.
There's a brief flash of light outside the diner, clearly visible through those wide windows, as the line of a teleportation comes and goes. In its wake stands Colonel, Mk II, known to his friends and fans alike as Signas. He doesn't really waste much time reorienting himself, because he's facing the right way, and can see as clearly as he can be seen. There's Twila, as expected, and...well, the big threat is obviously the ebony armored robot Master, Bass. Opting to be cool about the whole thing, he walks right up to the door and opens it.
*ding ding!*
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Right. Be careful guys.'.
(Ch. C [None]) Signas transmits: 'I am on location. Bass is in his nasty form. At least one sniper joe, no, civilian present, and I'm walking into the diner now."'.
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Please try to avoid a confrontation if at all possible. I don't need Bass shooting up New York... or anyone else in medbay.'.
"Hrrm... thirteen foot tall Mandrill monkey with teeth the size of a human's skull is no threat... BASS IS HERE! Even though Bass is ten times as lenient when not angry." *COUGH* "Bass, you show stopping ham! =P""
Fugue steps in right after Zero, one hand clenched into a fist. For some reason.
Bass snarls again, this time moving his hand forward, and pointing a finger straight at Twila like a stabbing knife. "You..." he grunts finally. "...sometimes I wonder if you really ARE more trouble than you're worth." He's unaware of the brief time he spent in Moira's sights...to suddenly be blocked by Spark Mandrill's form. For the moment he's barely hearing the Maverick's ranting for that matter. "...maybe it would end up being more help if I just reduced you to a pile of burnt organic ash and be done with it! Maybe THEN I'd find out where Megaman has gotten himself hiding?" At that, his eyes suddenly flash over with another thought. "Ah...perhaps that's how to pull him out from whatever hole he's dug himself into..."
This thought of course is abruptly cut off...as he continues to be assailed by Mandrill's words...and everything else happening at once. This is where he starts to really get that frustration thing going.
"ARGH! SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!"
Moira sighs quietly. She hadn't had time to really prepare her rifle for firing, trying to get a handle on the situation. Now she takes that time.
A hand lifts, to carefully slide the bolt back, and load a .80 BMG pure Tungstan shell into the chamber. 1800 grain of .80 love just entered the barrel. Her finger now slides over the trigger guard, to release the safety. Her sights sweep the front window, searching out Bass..
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'Advisory. I have him in my sights.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter]) Fugue transmits: 'Whoah, wait. There's people in here.'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: '...I'm a sniper.'.
(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'I'd...really not fire. One shot might not take 'im out, even if ya hit dead on.'.
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'One shot won't. I tried that before.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter]) Fugue transmits: 'And Bass' armor is probably strong enough to ricochet a shot all over the place.'.
Zero steps into the diner, lookin rather peeved, "Alright finhe.... hey now, lookeee here, li'l bro is getting flustered, aww, so cute." Zero steps further into the diner and folds his arms across his chest, staring daggers at his brother, "The hell are you doing in my diner, Bass. You gonna freak off quietly, or am I gonna have to rough you up a little first." he cracks his knuckles and smiles maliciously. "Oh, I so hope you chose the second option."
Spark Mandrill blinks, silencing himself for a moment as he stares blankly at Bass... "Well, if you really don't like name...", sipping his larger cup of coffee, "I suppose I can think of another... maybeeeee..... Meester Dark Fin? Oh... urm... Big Ear-Fin-Stuff? No.. those are no good... how abooouuut...", he continues spouting off utterly STUPID names, more to himself than anyone lese as he sips his coffee, completely oblivious to Zero's words, or the cross-hairs, or Signas outside.
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'And being on ground zero for a Neo Buster Megablast, even when it doesn't hit you, is NOT GOOD.'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'I sincerely doubt the ricochet. ...Twila's moving.'.
Well, at least Twila now knows what Bass wanted to try and get out of her this time. She winces softly. And as more individuals enter into the diner she wonders if it would have been better just having remained confined in her quarters all day. When Bass is even more distracted she continues edging towards that door...the one that seems to meet with alot of traffic...
(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Remember what I told you about Bass stating he would use me as an unwilling informant?'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'Twila, get out NOW. Take whoever else with you while he's distracted. Go!'.
Bass gives Zero all the answer he needs right about now. The sight of a shock of blonde hair...red armor, added to this whole mess. It's the breaking point.
What were those options again?
"I'll take (B) with much enthusiasm!" Bass snarls in the next breath, snapping about at the hip and pushing his now formed buster towards Zero's still smirking form. This scene just got a helluva lot more chaotic in the next heartbeat...
*BWOOOOOM!*
Ballade chooses this moment to come strolling down the street. Gee - timing. What fun!
Phoebus looks towards Spark Mandrill and is about to tell him the shut up as well...but wait!....He's making Bass mad...that's good. He doesn't like Bass and so lets Bass deal with it...Then however, Zero enters and he actually relaxes... Good. A nice strong guy. .... A nice strong guy who likes to antagonize homicidal insane people. yay. He draws his bow and arrow but doesn't fight yet...probably because he'll get his aft kick...instead he'll settle on civilian duty... He says to Twila, "You might want to get out.", with an insane amount of calm.
Signas looks over as Zero, perhaps predictably, walks in and immediately starts talking. This does not bode well for the whole diplomacy track...and there goes the Buster. Nope. Diplomacy just went out the window. He's really going to have to talk to Dr. Light about this, as he dives to the side, attempting to off at least some cover to his human friend, Twila.
Fugue leaps quickly away from the door, still keeping that fist clenched. She glances from Bass to Zero, and quickly snaps off a radio.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Fugue, Signas, Moira, CLEAR the area of civilians, NOW'.
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Do what Zero says, get OUT!'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'You heard the man. Clear! Clear! Go! Go!'.
Spark Mandrill suddenly leaning -DRASTICALLY- back, nearly toppling over, he just manages to avoid the blast with just a singed goatee... "ALRIGHT, alright! I'll stop thinking of names! ... I thought they were... how do keeds say.. 'cold'? No...this is not right either...", standing up again, he continues his round-about-pacing until noticing Zero and Fugue, then Phoebus' reaction... and finally he gets the point, "Oh... right." and shuffles out of the way of the chaotic environment, but not before shooting a frown at Phoebus, "Did you like the name I chose?", his thick Siberian accent crooning even deeper, almost a growl as if -FORCING- the poor guy to like it.
Job has been edgeding towards the door not to far behind Twila. Hey you can't fault the guy, his frame was cannon fodder once.
Of course...after that nice little radio when Bass opens fired she stumbles back and nearly falls down. "There, through the kitchen!" Twila blurts...particularly to he mismatched built reploid. Well...it's better then the front door at the moment!
All hail the masters mother ;)
Tttttttttttttbts
Zero stares down the buster blast as it streaks towards him and literally holds his arms open as it impacts, trying to absorb as much of the blast as possible as to not let it damage anything, or anyone else. It blows him back through the doors of the diner, shattering the glass, and bending the metal lining quite well, causing Zero to skid outside onto the street, kicking up sparks everywhere and causing traffic to come to a halt, he huffs for a bit and shouts from outside the diner, "Nice shot, li'l bro, but I've had worse, come on out here and give me another, I might feel it this time!"
Phoebus nods to Twila and then looks towards Spark Mandrill. He blinks. He then says, "I don't know. I wasn't paying attention to you really," he replies somewhat honestly.
Spark Mandrill blinks back and forth from face to face before swallowing another chug of coffee with a quick smack and an 'Ahhh...'.
Moira turns her sights to the front door after Zero gets blown through them, expecting Bass, the battlehappy Master he is, to come out one way or another, just to mix it up with Zero.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'Get those patrons and staff cleared the hell out of there.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter]) Fugue transmits: 'I'm working on it. Give me half a second..'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'I'm trying to draw all of his fire, I'm not going to fight back as to keep the damage low, just get those civilians out of here.'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: '...What the hell is with the monkey in the window?'.
Ballade watches Zero skid out into the street with him. At the words 'little bro' and the sheer force of the blast - he can make a guess about who's about to come barreling out into the street again. Ballade quickly checks for Buses, before rezzing his armor into place. When Bass and Zero get started, collateral damage can get high...
Signas nods, and stands, ushering Twila and whoever else wasn't bright enough to leave when Bass showed up towards the back. "Go, go. He's going after Zero," the idiot, "so everyone should be able to get out." He isn't really concerned about himself at this point, that's why Light Labs gave him a force field.
"Careful what you ask for you overgrown Barbie doll!" Bass returns, apparently in a mood for retorts right about now. With a hard *WHOOOOSH* his dash jets ignite, sending him hurtling out the hole that Zero just made and after the Hunter at top speed. The scarlet berzerker's body has barely even come to a halt before Bass shoots out the front like a speeding bullet, actually leaning forward just enough to -lift- off the ground and be propelled like a rocket. "...you might just get it in levels you weren't quite EXPECTING!" With that, his right hand lashes forward, clenched into a fist that heads straight for Zero's chin like an oversized jackhammer.
What other people? Zero certainly did his job allright. He got Bass' attention pure and simple.
Spark Mandrill says, "This ees good joe, no?", swatting Phoebus hard on the shoulder as if to stir an approval out of hte poor, intimidated guy, he chuckles and downs another bit of coffee-- one might think he'd have something more to do with such an occurrence, but no... Mandrill isn't exactly one to just jump headlong into a fight, especially one that's none of his business. "Um.. miss... Before you run out of back door," his Siberian accent once again destroying his diction, "Could you.. um... .. what is word? .. Drop more.. coffee into cup?", holding his styrophome cup out, the poor, frightened lady pours a bit more of the scortch-black joe in and runs for dear life out the back door through the kitchen, the coffee pot breaking against hte ground. "Thank you!!""
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'Copy that, Zero. I've still got Finhead in my sights.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Don't bother, yer not gonna be able to take him out, just help the others.'.
Fugue puts a finger of her free hand in her mouth and raises it slightly. Air circulation, check. She takes a step back and judges distances. She should have enough power for it. Narrowing her eyes slightly, she pulls back her clenched fist and thrusts it forward, opening the hand and sending glitter flying toward the doorway Bass just flew out from, "Fugue Fantasy!" And she only hopes that it manages to get Bass, because otherwise she's in for a world of hurt.
The door to the kitchen has flung open. Gratefully, some staff have managed to help with evacuating the customers by now at the first sign of possible trouble. After all...not the first time some trouble of some kind has shown up right?
Some pots and pans might be heard falling to the floor...unless some of the chaos overrides it...
It's through the the back, ironically where Bass had first entered, that Twila among others, find some meaures of escape...
Spark Mandrill jostling towards the doors to get a better look at the fight, and much like any stupid spectator, he runs into part of Fugue's timestopper in mid-coffee-swallow and freezes... "Uh-oh..."
Phoebus says, "Don't touch me." to Spark Mandrill, again with insane simplicity. He watches for civilians who are having trouble escaping... Zero's a tough guy, after all.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: '...That Monkey and one other patron isn't leaving.'.
Zero takes the punch in stride and cackles, "C'mon!" he screams, his cackling just getting louder and louder, "IS THAT ALL?! IS THAT IT LITTLE BROTHER?!" he cackles even madder now as he stares at Bass through his crimson eyes, "Hell, Protoman put up a better fight than you are, where's the hate, where's the power, where's the almighty dark knight of the robot masters? Hrm?" He continues to laugh as he shoves Bass off of him and starts to get up himself, before he too is frozen by Fugue's timestopper.
Ah... Sibling love. Protoman... Zero... Bass... and Ballade. The fourth one being the quiet introspective one who doesn't get in brawls. The rest all have issues. As far as Ballade's concerned, Wily needs to tone down the agressiveness code. Still, for sheer havok, it's all good.
The violet Elite watches as Bass and Zero freeze - trapped in a timestopper. Angling out a bit, he tries to locate the source of the timestop...
Job gets out of the diner before the time stopper hits. Strangely he is carrying something.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: '...Clear. And.. now Zero and Bass are halted. Apparently so is the other pat..ron.. Heads up. Ballade.'.
Standing in the door way with a cup of coffee to his lips, Spark Mandrill, unmoving, is now, basically a statue... a statue who's coffee unfreezes LONG before he does... A statue with coffee on it's face... a statue with coffee dripping down it's neck... a statue creating a puddle of coffee on the floor.... a statue getting pissed... That was damn good coffee.
There's not a whole lot else that Signas can do at this point. All but one civilian, some ape reploid, and Phoebus have gotten out. He assumes Phoebus is going to aid that one, and goes out the back himself, before running through the alley, appearing a short way donw the street, behind Fugue.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'That all the civs? Authorities notified and taking measures.'.
Moira sweeps her sights along the street, picking up Ballade... sigh. Bad to worse, to the pits to the dredges... and now whale dung. That's how low her day has become. Her sights return toward the door, waiting.
Bass is flipped over backwards as he's shoved off, end over end until he comes to a halt face-down on the pavement. With a motion, he reaches down and puts his hands palm-down forcibly on the pavement below, pushing himself up to land agilely on his feet once more. His own anger starts to build, tugging at that quiet calm heartbeat that makes up his world when he enters combat. Still, he holds tight to the stability, not about to let it go just yet. This is when out of the corner of his eye, he sees a familiar motion...and a familiar glitter for that matter. As he realizes what's happening, his eyes widen signifigantly, the wave rushing in straight towards him. "NO!"
Even as the wave is about to make contact, his colors shift suddenly...a blaze of neon orange and green, and the wave suddenly seems to -slam- into a wall a scant half a foot from Bass' position. It takes a few seconds for one to realize just what happened...
Fugue's own powers are being used...in a reverse effect. Arms thrust out to the sides, his colors having changed, Bass growls loudly, as if PUSHING outwards against the force of the temporal disturbance, with a disturbance of his own. The very area around him begins to bend, and warp, as if reality itself were being torn asunder with the sudden conflict of temporal power against temporal power, wreaking havoc on the field all around.
And in the middle of it all, is Bass...unable to move from his spot as he fights the waves, but unwilling to let them claim him all the same. NOW his eyes blaze with that insane glint, his mouth curled back into that not-quite-with it snarl, all sense of sanity starting to bleed away, his shoulders heaving with the very efforts he's exerting.
"I'll...kill...YOU...AAAAALL!"
Fugue narrows her eyes slightly, "I DON'T think so..." She slowly steps out from the diner, one hand spread out, while the other throws another handful of glitter. "Why don't you just close your eyes and relax, hmmm? You'll be in a much better place when you wake up.. promise."
Phoebus isn't going to help Spark. Spark looks as if he can take care of himself...well maybe not...However he just..sort of..stands there...Not every day you get to see Hell right in front of you with no civilians being killed or anything.
Moira has decided to be a pain and a half. A compartment upon her armor ejects a cylinder. She rises quietly, and pulls the pin upon the flash-stun grenade... and tosses it down, to hit Zero. It's an area effect. But, to those upon her side, a transmission is heard.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'Cover your eyes.'.
His coffee still drips away... using his angled goat-tee as a ramp, it dribbles down and puddles on the floor, the Mandrill, once in charge of the sweet mana-like liquid, now sighs mentally as it does so. Thinking only one thing.... oO( I wanted that... )Oo
Outside the diner, in the distance some sirens can be heard by civilians who have exited the cafe as well as bystanders just outside. It won't be long before the local police arrive in full to evacuate the area fully...
Ballade is... glad he's well away from that. A) Bass is now clearly freaked. And B) Conflicting temporal distortion fields... bad. His eyes constantly moving, watching the waves in 'time and space' spread out a bit. Not good.
Sirens. Tsk. New York police. That... might be a difficulty he can deal with. He turns, just as the grenade goes off. Knowing better than to look back, he instead scans for the source of the grenade.
Zero falls out of the timestopper's hold, A. due to Bass totally mucking with it, and B. getting beaned in the head with a flash grenade. As he comes out he falls back towards the grund having lost his upward momentum, but braces himself with one hand quickly and pushes himself back up, the sound of his sabre igniting behind Bass can be heard, "May as well give it up and go home, little brother, you've lost this night. As much as I hate taking away Rock's fun, I just may have to if you insist on sticking around and being a major pain in the ass like yer doing now."
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Status on the civilians?'.
Phoebus might be affected by the timestopper. its rather hard to tell...it looks like he's just standing there but since his eyes are closed...somehow looking impatient without moving...
The Poor guy can't really help in cases involving timestopping and Bass. Poor Phoebus.
Moira astutely takes up her gun and leaves. Bass will want a piece of her if he catches her, and not in a feel good way. Well, not for her, anyway.
You fools you have unbalanced time space and killed us all.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'The Monkey in the Cafe.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Oh you mean the Maverick in the cafe.'You people really need to learn to be able to spot your Mavericks.'.
Bass continues to push out, like an enclosing wall that's coming in on all sides, unwilling to let it entrap him. For a moment, his form flashes brightly, as a fiery aura suddenly ignites around his form. He feels the wave doubling it's efforts, and as a result, he pushes back that much harder, eyes suddenly closing, showing gritted teeth as he continues to fight back.
Electric arcs start to dance from his fingertips, as temporal wave continues to push against temporal wave, the very ground starting to bend, and melt around. Even the -air- seems to bend left and right chaotically, reality continuing to be distorted the more power that's fed into the combatting fields.
"When I'm out of here..." Bass growls, eyes still shut tight with concentration as his shoulders shake slightly with the effort. "...I'll...tear your head from your shoulders...and HANG it for ALL to see! ARRRRGH!" With that, he lunges out even more, the electric arcs from his fingers feeding the chaotic display. By now, the warped bubble of temporal time is starting to expand, all but starting to destroy everything in it's path the more and more that it's fueled.
Standing near Bass would be hazardous to one's health at this moment in time.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'If he's a maverick, sah...'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'But I do sorta have an unfair advantage in that department.'.
As Ballade turns around, Signas re-arrives on the scene. "I'll take it you aren't here to sing for the sake of art this time," he comments, with that neutrally polite tone of his. "I will be honest with you, Ballade, I think you should leave." He doesn't stop walking as he talks, in fact, he doesn't really look at the violet Master, instead focussing on the Diner and the rather chaotic loss of temporal stability in front of it.
Zero hops backwards as Bass starts shouting his regalia and gets on the radio.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Fugue, drop the timestopper, NOW. It's doing more harm than good now, we've got the civilians out, cut it off and get the heck out of here, I'll try and do something to get rid of Bass. And Twi, this is the last time we let you go out for coffee alone.'.
(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'It wasn't coffee. It was 7UP. Had a queasy stomach from being detained by a Mav earlier...'.
Meanwhile, local officers are now arriving on the scene...with their sirens still blearing. Bull horns can be possibly heard as local authorities begin to evacutate the bystanders and corner off the entire area due to the potential threat. Among them are Twila and Job...however, it may be hard to tell now when they're mixed with the crowds.
Fugue closes her eyes a moment as the flash goes off. But she doesn't stop the pressure. Continuing to move toward Bass, she holds both arms out, pushing against an unseen temporal force. She's not about to let Bass get the best of this one. "You know, Bass.. You really should learn to relax. Lighten up..." She grins, in a slightly sinister manner. "Take some time off." Ack, bad pun! Crouching slightly, she suddenly leaps out of the way, releasing her timestopper field. She's never seen what happens when a field like that is compressed and released.. but she's hoping it won't be good for Bass.
Indeed the distorted effects of time soon melt their way over the all but ignored primate and he is freed of his chrono-prison. Suddenly straightening out, Mandrill shakes the wasted coffee off of his face and snarls slightly, glancing around to see who could have had the gall to do such a thing... not that he's going to bother and retaliate or anything, he's just curious...
Grabbing some poor tourist by the back of his neck, he rips the guys shirt off and throws him back into the mass of fleeing people, wiping his face off with the stripped clothing, and ignoring his curse words with a shrill "Phft..." tossing the destroyed silk shirt back to him. Lining his massive shoulders up just-so with the door, he manages to squeeze completely through and out into the open street to watch, passively, arms folded over his chest with sparking electrical strands like that of a Jacob's Ladder between his shoulders.
Zero raises his tone after barking some orders into his radio, shifting his arm into his Zero Buster and staring down Bass, he hops back again however as Fugue releases the time field and just watches for now, reaching for his radio again.
Pity. Ballade was planning on shooting Fugue to break this up. He glances back at Signas, and the police. "Mmm. I think I will stay. He /might/ listen to me." Not really much hope of that.
Zero trains his buster arm on Bass' back and holds it there steadily as he waits for his reply, his armor trashed and torn, but he's not faltering in his stance, or his determination. He's not going to let his diner get trashed, not by Bass, not by anyone. And he certainly isn't going to let a repeat of Shanghai happen either.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Someone get on the horn with Repliforce and request some back up.'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'Copy that.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'We need nothing short of a disaster recovery team out here to secure the perimeter and evacuate the surrounding area. If Bass doesn't back away from this, he's not going to back away from anything.'.
Spark Mandrill shifts his slump-eyed gaze to Zero and his all-too-familiar Maverick-stompin' buster.. "Oi.. Somehow, Coffee eez no good, anymore."
(Ch. D [None]) Moira transmits: 'All Available REpliforce units report.'.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Back up needed at the infamous Ruby's Diner...'.
(Ch. D [None]) Megalith Gigas transmits: 'Megalith Gigas is still in Sydney. Speaking with a human. What is it that you require?'.
(Ch. D [Corpore-Politica]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Zero's cornered Bass in Ruby's Diner. He needs backup, and we're tapped out.'.
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Moira, don't sound so orderish about it. Remember, they're allies, not subordinates.'.
Megalith Gigas sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Miss Peterson...are you thus in trouble?"
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Megalith Gigas: "Yes...I am. Right now I'm with the civilians as local authorities help evacuate. Zero presently is trying to deal with Bass in the Diner. But some help is needed if any can be given...especially with how Bass is."
Phoebus taps one of the compartments over his heart...there is a resounding ding sound...but nothing else.
Signas takes a moment to send a message in reply to Phoebus, and says to Ballade, "You realize that by being here, in plain view, unless you do manage to talk him down, your work in China is going to be that much harder to believe." He turns to look at the Elite now, still neutral, "So if you are going to talk to him, now would be the time. Otherwise..."
Indeed such a phenomenon has never occurred before. Two temporal fields battling against one another, causing a severe disturbance in time itself. Only to have one side of the battle suddenly released...and disappear altogether.
Rather than the outgoing shockwave that one might expect, the last of the bubble is suddenly sucked inwards, actually absorbing -into- the Dark Knight's armored form, causing him to glow brightly, gaining in luminescence then at a steady rate.
For a moment, Bass stumbles, the pressure having been released altogether...almost falling to his knees in the process as well. Still, he remains upright, and raises his hands to glance at them, his form still growing brighter with each passing second. With that, he turns to face Zero, eyes wide, as if unknowing just what's happening to him right now.
"What...have you done...TO MEEEEEEE!?" He roars, throwing his head back at that moment.
In some ways, it's beautiful. A kaleidoscope of colors and lights all lancing their way outwards, starting with his body at the epicenter. The built up temporal energy found a solid base to work from, and now it needs to disperse itself, to return the local time frame to the way it's supposed to be once again. That...is a violent route however.
A few seconds later, and one's had all the warning they're going to get, as the blast RIPS outwards, turning Bass into a raging supernova in the middle of the street. Winds pick up to hurricane-force levels for a split second, enough to overturn cars and send them sliding on their roofs like blown toys...the deafening *KRAKA-BWOOOOOOOOOM!* of release shattering windows within a three block radius. If one was looking at the center of the explosion...they would want to look away right about now.
(Ch. B [SecDef]) Anthem transmits: 'Any available RF units, move to Ruby's Diner ASAP. Full weapons.'.
(Ch. B [Main-Freq]) Megalith Gigas transmits: 'Megalith is deploying.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Signas transmits: 'Already on the scene. I am attempting to convince Ballade to depart peacefully.'.
(Ch. B [Rep/Hunter]) Phoebus transmits: '.....I hate timestoppers.'.
(Ch. C [Broadband]) Silence Tsetse transmits: 'Priv...er, Silence Tsetse here, sirs? I'm sorry, did I hear something about backup needed?'.
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Yes. We've got a situation at Ruby's Diner. Backup is needed.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter]) Fugue transmits: 'Stay BACK from him.. I don't know what that kind of temporal field at close proximity can do.'.
(Ch. C [Broadband]) Silence Tsetse transmits: 'Yes, sir.'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: 'Compliant, sah.'.
Ballade is about to reply to Signas, and perhaps act... when Bass goes, for lack of a better word... critical. As the light builds, Ballade does the first thing he thinks of - dives behind solid cover. No cars - wall. And even then the force of the blast blows him off his feet.
His reaction to this? "Impressive."
Fugue winces a bit as the explosion is triggered, but stands her ground. She lifts an arm to cover her face and leans toward Bass to keep from being blasted off her feet. For a moment, she debates doing something really crazy...
Phoebus is blown back, slamming through one of the walls of Ruby's diner onto the street each itself..the mortar pops out into his hand, charged and ready to fire...but... Will he really have to?...He's not too sure
Spark Mandrill says, "Wha? ... What eez hell doing here!?", one of his thick eyebrows fire up in question, seconds before a car jams into his chest and sends him through Ruby's, carried on wings of MOTHER-F**KING -PAIN! "HEY! I DID NO CALL TAXIIII!!!!". A repetitive, and all too familiar succession of booming noises hails Spark Mandrill's untimely escape... through building, after building, after building, until landing somewhere near the harbor with a decimated taxi atop his armored, and pretty-much protected form, due to the fact that the taxi was pretty much carrying him.
Seconds pass... minutes... and finally the burnt piece of taxi flies off of a lump in the ground and the muddy, dirty, and disgruntled Spark Mandrill scoops himself out of the mound and goes about the process of charging, -VERY- angrilly back to the destroyed Diner. "Son of benches... I'll show them who's chair I curse!!" .... whatever that meant. Apparently, in all of his Siberian wonderment, he knows nothing of 'cliche' cursing 101."
The display is more than enough to help the stragglers to just keep moving. Although this time...some debris must be attempted to be avoids as well. A good Samaritan reaches out to shove Twila to the ground to avoid some of the harsh winds flying glass from one of the cars at where she is about 2.5 blocks away from the epi-center of the chaos. "Of all the...." she can't help but grumble.
(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: '*grunt barely heard of the wind* What in the heck is that??'.
(Ch. C [None]) Moira transmits: '...Fireworks.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter]) Fugue transmits: '...Something I intend to fix.'.
It would appear that Ballade isn't the only one with the 'Get down' idea. As the Elite dodges one way, Signas goes the other, ending up beside the Antique shop. "Had to freak off Bass," he mutters, "had to be the hot shot." No, he doesn't think that this debacle could have been mitigated or avoided, he knows it. Still, that's spilled milk, and he's just doing his best to not get smashed around overly much by the unleashed cataclysm.
Zero disengaged his Buster as the winds pick up and digs his feet into the ground, throwing his arms in front of his face defiantly as he too tries to hold his ground, but to no avail. He's shoved backwards hard against one of the towering skyscrapers in this particular area of the megalopolis. As he makes impact with the building, he slumps over and slides down the wall into a sitting position, his armor now almost completely ruined and his body sparking. He grits his teeth and clenches his fists as his eyes start to glow a bright red, he picks himself up and takes a step forward, peering at his brother through his fiery red eyes, reaching for his sabre. He doesn't say a word, he merely grunts, his body starting to glow with a bright red aura. There goes all of Zero's hard work... there goes all of Zero's discipline. Because of all the people in the world, no other, aside from his own little brother, can push him to the edge like this.
Zero's mad... and now the scene just got that much more interesting.
Spark Mandrill rips a piece of Taxi-door out of his forearm, finally ceasing his fruitless running, and rounding the corner from the obvious route of less resistance from the Harbor, cradling his chin (lacking it's stiff goatee.. that's somewhere in the mud...) in a hand and cradling curse words on his lips.. if he gets them right.
Ballade rises as the shockwave rumbles past, bracing against the wall, and glancing around the corner. Frankly, he simply expects to see a crater. A large one. If Bass survived that, Ballade will eat Wily's shorts.
No, not really.
The enraged Zero is noted, and momentarily dismissed. Of import at the moment, is dealing with Signas. "It would seem it's a bit late for peacemaking..." And then Ballade returns his attention to Zero. Watching Zero when he's like this... is very very important.
And when it all clears, the shockwaves, the roaring, the winds...in the center of a blasted crater easily 20 feet in diameter. Floating in mid-air, is Bass' form. Still whole in the midst of it all...but blasted completely black in the process, even his gold trim looks like it's completely gone. However, his damage isn't external, it's internal right now. Mech-fluid moves from the corner of his mouth in a steady trickling stream, and smoke boils upwards from the openings in his armor, suggesting that he's just been subjected to an incredible level of superheating.
With a loud *CLANK* he lands once more, falling to his knees, and pushing his hands out to steady himself, giving a loud gasp as a result. "Pain...so much..." he mutters finally through gritted, fluid-stained teeth, voice barely a whisper. That is...until his shoulders start to shake slightly, building in intensity, until one hears the source of it.
"Hahahahahahaha...."
"...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Rampage Jr.
Well. It seems Ballade was mistaken. How nice.
Around the young Hunter medic there are those who weren't as "lucky" as her with the group she's with...and there's no sign readily of Job right off hand either. But as the disturbance takes on the tone of a momentary calm some begin to stand, some with aid, some without. Some who are uninjured aid those who do. Since Twila is of the former she does so with the latter...using only what she has on hand.
Of course...arriving on the scene Repliforce units are beginning to lend their aid as well, doing what they can for the those unfortunate enough to be here.
The calm you see...was the calm of the eye the storm.
Zero's body heaves as his sabre ignites, almost seeming to ignite slower this time, with more emphasis. Inwardly he fights against his temperament, trying to keep control of himself as he takes another involuntary step forward, "I told you... I told you to leave..." he snarls, taking another step forward, "But you didn't listen... you never listen... all you ever do is destroy..." he takes another step forward, before stopping himself, "I... augh... I will not let you do this anymore... I won't let you destroy any more. I... won't let you kill anymore..." His hand starts to tremble a bit, as his other tightens it's grip around his sabre. "It ends tonight, little brother. Whether by my hand, or another's..." he doesn't take any further movements however, as he grits his teeth, fluids leaking all over his own body as well. He continues to fight against his rage, trying desperately not to give in.
Phoebus would shoot at Bass right now but unfortunately the little voices in his head are telling him to sleep...and it seems like a good idea...yes...head wounds are for wimps though...and even though his head really hurts maybe he should just go ahead and shoot Bass...He points at Bass with the mortar...the sound of it charging is heard...and...Phoebus pulls back on the trigger to fire.
And nothing happens. It didn't charge up long enough apparently or Phoebus didn't pull hard enough...and those voices in his head sound really convincing right now... So he just closes his eyes and goes to sleep.
Bzzzzzz...the sound of the approach giant fly is unmistakable, or would be, if the area was a tad bit quieter. Silence zooms towards the source of the big noises and flashing lights, opting for speed over stealth. This looks messy, and she's still quite a ways away.
Fugue's feet slowly lift off the ground, her flight kicking in full blast to weather the remnants of the wind. When it finally lets up, she drops to her feet again and begins walking toward Bass, slowly and with determination. The wind begins to pick up again... but this time it's more like gentle breezes, as the air pressure around her person changes slightly in preparation to put up her forcefield just in case. Eyes narrowing slightly at Bass, she fails to see the humor at the moment.
It isn't as though Signas can disagree. "So it would seem." Now comes the problem of dealing with two crazed superpowers, running amok and trying to kill each other in a small corner of New York City.$r$rLovely.
Signas stands, and steps out from behind his cover, walking towards the center of this ever so charming play. With a sigh, he starts talking into his radio.
Spark Mandrill swatting people out of his way whom have chosen to take to the streets an run, as he strolls towards the broken door of Ruby's Diner, glaring around a few moments before hunching into a crouching position, and staring angrily at Bass and Zero- not because they're fighting, but because they've caused him some small degree of pain. And of course, like any Maverick would, he needs something to take it out on...
Slowly, his eyes move... and then his head, following their guidance, towards Phoebus and his drawn bow and arrow. "Leettle man.... leettle man and weapon...", his hands clench into fists and he stands to his full thirteen foot-four inch height... staring down at Phoebus as he nears the Repliforcer in a stride which could only be called the 'death stride'... when you -know- someone wants to either kill, maim, or harm you in -some- way. The two pipes arching from his shoulders and down to his back suddenly spark and his eyes squint.
Ballade locks his gaze on the ultimate source of that blast. Fugue. It seems she hasn't learned to leave well enough alone. He sighs. "You might want to call that one back, Signas." He notes the Maverick as well. "Hmm... Complicated situation..."
Suddenly as Spark Mandrill stares down at Phoebus...A strange occurance happens... The mortar, as if realizing it was supposed to fire, finally does. A rather big electrical explosions surges out of the mortar towards Spark's body...charring Phoebus's left side but, well, for the most part it missed Phoebus. Darn weapons don't work when they're supposed to.
(Ch. D [None]) Signas transmits: 'Hunter and Repliforce Units. Concentrate on evacuating civilians. We are going to need a engineering team down here as well, eventually, to assess building damage and shore up anything that looks like it is going to fall. Zero and Bass are about to face off again, so I am calling for double the normal evac radius. Leave them alone. The last thing we want to see happen is someone else get involved, and get shot at by both.'.
(Ch. D [SpecOps]) Silence Tsetse transmits: 'Yes sir.'.
"Yuuuu can't fight it..." Bass leers, glaring at Zero with all the intent of a predator watching a sick gazelle stumble about in it's last moments of trying to fight off the fatigue so it can get to safety.
"You'll never escape it..." By now, one of Bass' eyes have practically winked out, no light coming from it. His mouth trails lazily to one side, as if he's lost feeling in that side of his head, a steady stream of his internal workings still dripping out. By now, the smoke billowing from his armor has changed to faint tendrils, and he actually takes a step forward, though it's almost drunken in the process. "It's what yooooou are...." he slurrs. "...that's why you're su...such a failure, never know when to use it..." At that, his right hand clenches tightly, only to open a second later, as if a reflex. "You'll always be second best..." his tone picks up at that point, speech clearing just a bit, as if a spark somewhere within were still driving him on. Hate again rises it's ugly head, working it's avatar with a guiding hand, not about to give up on its favorite so easily. "That's why...it's so much more fitting....the day MEGAMAN destroys you...instead of me! And then...then I'll destroy HIM!"
Of course even as Spark's shadow spreads over Phoebus another shadow begins to spread over Spark. The ground rocking and vibrating from dull *THOOMS* that echoe and rock the entire area violently and splinter glass in some windows. Gradually the towering form of Megalith Gigas arrives on scene. The obvious source of this violent seismic disturbance. His arrival as if on queue to Spark's statements and threatening gestures to Phoebus as the gigantic reploid approaches the scene. Moving into view behind Phoebus and towering over both Repliforce /and/ Maverick. His full eighteen foot tall and practically that wide and muscled form dwarfing the other two reploids. Though in truth his ire focuses itself down towards the Mandrill naturally. "Leetle /reploid/ you are to be meaning.." he rumbles. Apparently Phoebus' designated backup here as his muscled body overshadows his comrade and looms above Spark's approaching form. "Mebee ye are to be picking on someone you aer to be picking on someone your own size.. or trying to pick on someone 'bigger' then you before you go calling someone eleetle.." rumbles his impossibly deep voice towards Spark.
From afar, Job Staggers to his feet holding his head. "Unnnn check please... this is the last time I take a Job on Star Trek,.... messing with time space.. it a bad bad bad ,.... thing... unnnnnnnnnn." Poor Job just keels over in tangled heap his system was not fully up to the strain of the time space fallout.
Zero suddenly finds himself locked in his stance, fighting with himself. The darker part of him begging to be let loose to just tear away at Bass, while the rest of him struggles to keep it at bay. The azure gem on his forehead starts to spark as he continues to fight within himself, until finally it literally bursts, shattering the gem and scattering glass around his feet. He falls to his knees and drops his saber, his hands rapidly moving to clutch at his head as he lets out a horrifying scream of pain as he fights his own inner demons. Tears start to roll down his cheeks from his eyes from the pain, both physical and mental. He lurches over a bit, letting out a few more pained grunts as he calls out to no one in particular, or perhaps to no one at all, "Help me... for the love of God help me stop this... AUGH!" His body sparks some more as he continues to keel over in pain before his hands start to fall from the sides of his head, one reaching for his sabre, the other bracing against a nearby wall. He starts to pick himself back up, his eyes closed, his body looking like it's been through a trash compactor, and his face a bloody (well at least in terms of reploid fluids) and watery mess. As he reaches a standing position again, he opens his eyes, no longer glowing, as he struggles to assume a defensive position, igniting his sabre once more, "I can beat this..." he says as he settles his gaze on his younger sibling, "And I can sure as hell beat YOU! NYAGH!" he charges at Bass, sabre in hand, a lazy trail of energy chasing after it as he leaps at the dark knight his body only being held by sheer determination now. As he dashes past his brother he swipes with all of his might at the midsection of his brother's frame and holds his pose for a moment, much like a classic samurai charge, and then falls down to a knee, "Fugue..." he says softly, now closer to her, "... finish it."
Silence Tsetse fades from sight as she reaches ground zero - wouldn't want to scare any of the lovely folks she's supposed to be saving, now would she? The bug pauses on the side of a building for a moment, scanning the area for anyone either too stupid or simply unable to get away.
Zero lets out a rasping cough, causing more fluid to erupt from his mouth, as he places his hand down on the ground to brace himself as his body starts to falter. He continues to hold it up, however, knowing that this fight could still be far from over. He slowly but surely gets back up to his feet, turning around to face his brother and leaning against the wall of a building, bracing himself against it, hoping to god that Fugue follows through.
Spark Mandrill staring somewhat nonchalantly at the blast sent at him by Phoebus, his body suddenly exerts a wave of blaring electricity of his own, burning from deep within the colored sphere embedded in his armor. The generator within himself beginning to whir to life as he brings his left hand up, swatting the explosive round away from himself on a pillow of electrical disturbance, causing it to erupt just shy of his right side, grunting under it's force as he's tipped onto his left foot.
Finally setting down on both feet again, he slowly, ever so slowly, turns around to face Gigas, not so short his damned self, at a brisk thirteen foot four inches. Turning his eyes, and head upward to stare the hulking Repliforcer in the face, he smirks in his own primate-like way and snarls... "If you feel ... what is word? ... Toady? Theen by all meanz.... jump...". Raising his hands from their lowered positions and snapping them both into impossibly tight fists, he takes a hopping step back over phoebus, putting distance between he and the jolly-darn-big-Giant... "Do your worst..."
Signas stops, shaking his head. He looks at this tableau, and snaps off a radio transmission.
Ballade chooses this auspicious moment to step out into the open once more. If they don't kill Bass, he'll be hauling Bass back to... base. He ignores the growing intimitation fight between the Gigas and the Mandrill - Sparky he'll deal with later.
He starts slowly towards the crater, moving carefully...
Fugue smiles slightly at Zero's words. For the moment, she knows she can do more good with Zero and Bass than with evacuating civilians. Reaching back, she withdraws her tuning fork and, after taking a moment to smack it against the ground, she advances toward Bass, prepared to finish him off... if she can.
Indeed, Spark isn't so short himself but then again Megalith's got not just the height but the bulk. A true hulk and juggernaut amongst reploids quite literally. The titan's hugely muscled chest literally rolls thunderously in movement while his armor creaks and with a loud *THOOM* resounding with another one he steps over Phoebus and begins to slowly and brutishly lumber towards Spark. His shoulders swaying from side to side in a brutish lurch and his back arced up in the air also. He's silent at first and then his russian accented voice rolls brutishly towards Spark, "Toady, Megalith does not feel. Megalith does feel like crushing stupid monkey into tiny ball if he does not depart area swiftly..."
Bringing new meaning to.. "Stick a fork in him, he's done!" HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR er... ahem. :D
Ballade brings up his arms. "Let me have him. This is done, and over with. Leave it... to family." The cannons stay leveled at Fugue as he advances, the mouthes of the blasters glowing violet with the contained plasma.
An explosion of sparks erupts from Bass' torso, as he twists with the blow itself, sent pinwheeling to the side like he was just hit by a truck. His front torso armor carries the deep gash, a stream of fluid following the path as he hits the ground with a hard clatter, face-down, one hand still bracing him slightly upwards. A cough, and his form shudders, before he glares ahead, staring at where Zero is still pulling himself to his feet.
"Weak..." he breathes, right hand shifting to it's buster form. With that, he draws a bead on the berzerker's form, power starting to shunt into his cannon-arm, glowing brighter and brighter.
"Weak...." he breathes. "...that's what makes you....a failure. ALWAYS giving in....to your weak side...." At that, his weapon goes off at full power.
Only Bass hadn't expected the damage levels that he'd suffered earlier from the temporal charge. Like a ripe banana peel, the edges of his buster are literally peeled back from the eruption, his howl of agony lost in the roar of plasmafire that tears loose. Somehow, the stability of his megablast is lost, and the explosion not only rips at Zero, but the area around him as well.
Now the poor street surface has had all it can take. Even as chaos is unleashed upon it once more, the pavement gives away, collapsing in on itself and falling towards the sewers below. In the middle of all this, is Bass, caught up as little more than another object being sucked into the self-made avalanche. Within seconds, he's gone out of sight, the last glimpse of him is that of flailing about wildly as he falls with several hundred tons of debris and rock...
...who knows how deep that hole is.
Ballade pauses, lowering his weapons. "Or not." He peers at the hole. "How... like Bass."
He lowers his arms, letting the weapon systems cycle down. His spine straight, his bearing perfect even in the middle of chaos. "He will survive, of course." He glances at Zero. "Wily builds well. You should know that." Saluting, hand to heart, he turns slightly. "I shall be departing..."
Fugue ignores Ballade's cannons. At this point, she's not worried about him as much as Bass. As Bass' shot goes off, however, she holds up the fork in some attempt to block.. which doesn't turn out quite so well, all things considered. The proximity of the blast, coupled with her already overtaxed systems, are enough to lift Fugue off her feet and slam her back against a wall. Still, she manages to smile. turning slightly toward Ballade, she comments, "Go ahead. You can have him.. if you can find him."
Zero had expected something of this to happen, and has already had his own buster charged. As Bass' blast nears him, he sets himself against hte wall, and fires off a full power blast himself, trying to negate as much power from the blast as possible as to not do any more damage to the scenery. As he fires his own blast, it slams him through half of the concrete in the wall of the skyscraper. However, when the remainder of Bass' blast hits him, it sends him through the rest. However, the rest of the area is more or less spared from Bass' going away present. The crimson bersker's body sparks and fizzles from the damage as he lays now in the lobby of some corporate office building, a donut eating rent-a-cop security guard choking on his coffee in the process.

Bass fall down da hole.
Zero spits out some more fluid and lays there motionless, his body going numb all over from the mass amounts of pain, "So much for taking... *cough* a vacation..." he comments to himself dryly.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: '*cough* Fugue, you alright?'.
By now most of the immediate area has been undergoing steady evacuation as well as efforts administered to those in the fighting by some Repliforce units as well as local law enforcement. Among them, a few blocks away now, Twila is among them stell helping to tend injuries with some others.
A crackle... at first, and then a bolt... and a second, then a third, followed by a sudden off color burst of purple light that snaps aloose from Spark's form as his body is suddenly consumed in snake-like tendrils of electricity, blaring over his body and traveling the length of his arms until he rockets into the air, cutting through the atmosphere, leaving behind him the smell of electrically scortched air, and vorpal like disturbances that appear as almost glass-distortions before clearing out, as if the portions of air he'd just passed were suddenly smoothed out by some unseen hand.
Turning around once in the air, then a second time, apparently only building up kinetic energy that, in and of itself, turns into another form of raw energy... pure lightning, that adds itself to the coalescing beads of power around the now airborn Mandrill. His hands, looking as if they were dining off of the power about himself, soon explode into insane amounts of electricity. They forced into his knuckles just moments before his form rockets towards Gigas' face with an outturned fist, bursting through the air and looking to claim his face with the consuming monster dubbed 'power' that envelopes his appendage.
Snake Man watches the scene from afar, lying on a nearby rooftop and calmly taking in the damage. He doesn't look the least bit perturbed, and just keeps watching as he has been all along.
Signas sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Are you still alive and well, Twila?"
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signas: "*sigh* Yeah...I'm alright. A few cuts from flying glass. Alright otherwise. What's going on down there?"
(Ch. C [Hunter]) Fugue transmits: 'I've been better.. I've been worse, too..'.
Job gets haulled off by a slavage team thinking that he is Joe that caught in the blast and in his current state... he can't talk to tell em other whise.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Heh... just as long as I know yer still alive an kickin... *pause* And by the way... are you utterly NUTS?!'.
(Ch. C [None]) Signas transmits: 'I was just about to ask you that question, Zero.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Taking on Bass like that is pure insanity, rookie. *cough* Crazy is my job, Signas.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter]) Fugue transmits: 'Possibly. I've done it before, and I wasn't about to let him at -you- in that state, Zero.'.
(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'I quote: Sometimes crazy works.'.
The fly on the wall simply stares. This is firepower on a level she's never seen before. As the dust from the huge blast of plasma and following collapse clears she shakes her head slightly, about to go check on the injured - when she realizes the fighting isn't over yet. Silence flits to another building, trying to get a closer look at Megalith and Spark and the crumpled form between them.
Far below the surface, in a much more subterranean level of the sewers, there's a loud *splash* as something lands in the stinking green-colored water.
A darkened shape floats face-down with the current, drifting lifelessly towards the harbor...and the open ocean beyond.
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'At least let your acting commander know what happened?'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Bass take hostage. Zero show up. Big boom. Bass go bye bye. Thank you, drive through.'.
(Ch. C [None]) Signas transmits: 'I see. Yesterday, I might have commended you for taking your differences with Protoman out of the city. Today, you simply barged into a volatile situation, and made it worse. MUCH worse.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Okay, next time I'll just let him have his way with Miss Peterson, Signas.'.
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Please don't argue about it on the broadband.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'I'm sure she'd really appreciate that. Words don't work on Bass, Signas. You learn that with experience. What did you plan on doing, talking him out of it? Please. I did what had to be done, and instead of getting thanks, I get lip from someone who's barely even over a month off the assembly line?'.
(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'That was my fault. I wasn't unable to use the radio at the time to let you know what was going on. Just the beacon.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: Alas. It was such a lovely day. The boys were playing with their toys, and many a jolly explosion rocked the area. Fun. But, of course, a certain Repliforcer just has to show up and make the day a lot worse.
The Repliforce Medical Advisor swoops down from the sky, landing gently on a closest untouched building, and lets her golden eyes run over the entire scene. Her brow furrows slightly, and she looks over the scene once more, not sure if she can trust her own optics. Well... damn. Drawing a breath, Nightingale calls out to the people below.
"Did I miss anything?"
Fugue slowly peels herself from the wall, leaning on her tuning fork. Ow. That hurt. "Mmmph." Verbose, isn't she? Slowly, she makes her way toward the building Zero crashed into.
The brutish jaw that belongs to Megalith contorts into a twisted look of annoyance followed by concern as the electricity flashes everywhere. His eyes squint however but his overall massive frame and ready demeanor hide the worry that now comes into his thoughts. For he sees now that Mandrill seems to use the type of energy that can easily overload his systems...and he uses ALOT of it."Hrrrn...!" he starts to rumble only to have the enormous fist explode into his face with a loud *BOOM* and a resulting thunder crack that splits the area. It seems that even as one fight has ended another fight has begun and though this one isn't quite as 'dramatic' as the struggle between Bass and Zero ..this one has it's own powerful atmosphere to it. Simply the power of true brutes. The fist jerks Megaliths head to the side but the damage come snot simply from that but from the electricity that burns into his internal systems. Causing his synth muscles to convulse and his armor to short out in various areas. He staggers backwards but then quickly retaliates. For power is Megalith's companion also and strength enough to make Guts Man wince in his fists.
His hand hurtles upward in a clenched fist right up for Spark's midsection as a result. The shockwave from his sheer movements and strength a visible thing from the air distorting noticeably about the punch as force enough to topple a building counter-attacks. It may lack the bright flashes of Spark's punch .. but then again it probably doesn't' really need it.
Ballade looks at the hole for a long moment, his systems pulling up what he knows about Bass. "Mmm." He turns, and starts towards the police barricade, and mostly evactuated crowd. He has some guess as to where Bass will end up. Letting people reprogram Bass - again - would be a very bad thing. Eventually he'll find the force commander, clean him up, and toss him in a repair chamber.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Zero: "*sigh* Here's a thanks anyway..."
Zero sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Heh, thanks Twi... you holdingup alright?"
(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Guys, STOP IT! Zero, thank you for saving Twila. Signas AND Zero, I don't want to hear either of you arguing over the broadband. That's an order.'.
(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Gotcha... shutting up.'.
The Gumbies stop in shock at the talking joe. Job "Ya set me down I think I'll be fine now.... unn thanks..." Job begins to saunter away from the gubies who are stilll rathered stunned.
Zero just continues to lay on the nice marble floor leaking his fluids all over it, as the rent-a-cop continues to just stare in bewilderment, not quite sure who to call, or what to do. He never got this in the training.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Zero: "Yeah. Just a few cuts from the glass. I'll live. I don't know the reason what Bass was originally there. But he still has on his mind to use me as an informant. He kinda let it this time it was to try and get me to tell him where Rock was."
Zero sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Hrm... weird... this ain't good at all. When you get back from the Repliforce exchange, I want to sit down with you and have a chitchat about it if you don't mind."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Zero: "Alright. I'll be about. Speaking of which...how're you holding up?"
Fugue finally reaches the building Zero is resting in. "Zero?" The guard just continues to stare, at the sight of an armored figure using a six-foot tuning fork as a staff. "Zero, you in here? Don't you dare go to sleep on me, Zero..."
Loud, and variably thundering claps of electricity burn through the air as Spark charges on with the punch, burying his fist in Megalith's face with a sickening grin on his primate lips, barring down on the taller giant and forcing his power into him, until Megalith's own attack is launched. His eyes widen only slightly as he catches sight of the initial counter-attack, but in no position to dodge he. He simply flexes his internal units in his abdomen and prepares for the worst, letting the attack slam into him, only to be folded over the first with a loud, and desperate grunt.
Stumbling back from megalith, the lightning stops shortly after, however, as the true pain from the attack soon takes, notable, if not remarkably surprising effect. Brute against brute indeed, though one of them physically outclassed. Continuing back a few feet with one hand cradling his midsection, he stops to contemplate this sudden turn of events, but not long before he's seen rushing back in on sliding feet across the ground towards Megalith, shoving his elbow towards the larger reploids own midsection, and bringing with it, in complete succession, his face, with human-skull sized teeth seeking only his solarplexus. Literally looking to cannibalize the bastard with a massive bite just over the lower portion of his lungs.
Silence Tsetse flits down to the ground, landing at a cautious distance from Spark and Megalith. She's watching them, but only enough to keep out of their way - her attention, for the most part, is on the form of Phoebus, caught between them. Repliforcer in trouble! She begins to inch forward, hoping her stealth systems will keep the giants from noticing her - and hoping she doesn't get accidentally squashed in the process.
Zero mock snores loudly as Fugue makes that comment, before snickering a bit, "I'm alright... well I guess relatively speaking... I've been better tho. Not sure if I can move or not, but I'll try here in a bit, just let me study this really nice ceiling pattern they've got in here for a little longer."
Nightingale reaches up, scratching her head lightly before taking another look at the destruction wrought by the silly robots. "Nah, I don't want to know," she tells herself, leaping off the building, letting her white wings catch the air once more, and flying away. So there.
Fugue smiles a bit, leaning heavily on her fork. "C'mon, Zero. You gotta get up."
Zero grunts and props himself up on his elbows, pulling his legs up and bending his knees as he starts the process of getting up, "Yeah yeah, gimme some time. Jeez, what is with you women, always telling men to hurry up, but when you spend four fricken hours in the bathroom doing your make up, you won't hear one word about hurrying up. Sheesh."
Fugue mmphs, shifting her weight a bit. "Well, you see.." She declines comment on the bathroom accusation. "You're gonna need to be up really, really soon."
Zero raises an eyebrow as he finally gets to his feet, taking a few steps towards Fugue and smirks, "Yeah? Why's that?" he inquires, "And don't tell me, 'cuz i told you so' either." he says with a grin.
Zero sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Eh, aside from what happened yesturday I'm doing alright I guess. Job aside I'm doing great thanks to a little help from Gale. As for my current situation, well... i'm standing at least."
Signas walks away, back towards the Repliforce crews that have moved in to do evac and cleanup.
Fugue shakes her head slowly, "Nope... Though that should be a good enough reason." She smirks faintly, "Main reason, y'see, is that I'd really rather not fall onto a hard, rubble-strewn tile floor." As if on cue, her tuning fork slips a little, and Fugue collapses forward, totally drained of energy from overexerting her timestopper.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Zero: "Well...us guess standing up is good. Need any on-the-spot repairs? Although sure there's someone closer...I think..."
Zero sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Nah, I can handle it.... just a scratch, that's all."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Zero: "I know about your type of scratches. Welp, you know where the Band-Aids are. *more seriously* Thanks."
Zero sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "No worries, Twi, just glad to know yer alright. Ya know... Rock would have my hide if he found out I let Bass do something bad to ya."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Zero: "Gee...you care. How sweet."
Zero sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Oh you know I'm just teasin."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Zero: "*snicker* Couldn't help but wonder what clued me in. Anyway, take care getting back."
Signas sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Actually, since I'm taking Fugue back to the Hunter HQ, and you know the principles better than I do, would you mind taking care of the official Repliforce report?"
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signas: "No, don't mind. Take care getting back."
Signas sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I am heading back to RHQ. I'll want your statement for my report.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signas: "Will do. When do you need it by?"
Zero shakes his head and waits for Signas to get his holier than thou self over to help him out with Fugue and chuckles, "Oh hush and take five. We'll get you home and on a repair table soon." he looks down and notices that Fugue's already decided to take five on his shoulder. He smiles faintly. .oO(Poor girl... crazy girl... but still poor nevertheless.)Oo. He looks over at Signas and nods, "Yeah, I can make it on my own." He lifts Fugue up carefully and hands her over to Signas trying not to disturb her rest, "But before I head back, I've got something to do..." He walks over to the Diner, it's window shattered, glass all over the floor, the waitresses all doing their best ot get it cleaned up. He pokes his head in what used to be the door and finds Trish amongst the crowd and exclaims, "Hey, can I get a cup of joe?" Within moments, a large frying pan is flying through the air and SLAMS right into Zero's face with a nice loud CLANG. "... guess not... medic..."

Incident at Ruby's Thu Mar 08 Twila Peterson
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**TEXT ONLY**
Earlier this evening at Ruby's Diner here in New York while with the Officer Phoebus as well as a civilian, Bass decided to enter and approach. Uncertain of his original motive for being there, but demanded I accompany him. Unable to use the radio otherwise, and noticing no statement was made regarding Bass's activities, I used an emergency beacon to call for aid while Bass was distracted with a Maverick who also happened to be in the diner. Aid came in the form of Hunters Zero, Fugue, and Moira as well as Sergeant Signas from what I gleaned at the time.
Due to their efforts the diner was cleared of civilians and local authorities as well as Repliforce units arrived on the scene to aid in the evacuation. I'm not in the know what happened after during the conflict with Bass...except to safe to say the effects were felt within a distance of a three-block radius.
