Command Center <Hunter HQ>

Monitors and computer consoles line the walls of this cavernous room. In the center of the room is a round computer with holographic display, its lights flashing busily as it processes information about mavericks, and their last known sitings. Computers along the walls are also occupied with an information processing task. Technicians and other Maverick Hunters run about hastily, monitoring the computers, and making sure the information is as accurate as it can be. The whole air of this room exudes purpose and drive, and the hustle and bustle seems neverending. On the south wall are two large bulletproof windows which gives you a view of the rooftop runway and Hangar Area. A large blast door in in the middle of the two windows, giving easy access to the landing strip.

<Global News Network> Ladies and Gentlemen, we interupt your regularly scheduled program for this special announcement. Now, the Head of the UN Security Council, Carlos Montalvo. "Good evening. Tonight, we have decided to break the impass that the United Nations has reached with the rogue units of Repliforce. At this hour, with the full consent of the Security Council, and by Secretary-General McLaren's agreement, we have begun a military operation to bring an end of the reign of tyrany that the Repliforce has caused in the past week by use of force. At this moment, ground forces are assembling onboard troop transports, and with air support will be striking the island momentarily. We advise those citizens of New York in the Manhattan area to evacuate in an orderly fashion, and for all others to take cover."'.

(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'I think I'm going to be ill.'.

(Ch. B [MH/RF]) Air Wraith transmits: ' You're not the only one'.

(Ch. B [Replihunters]) Guardian Sasquatch transmits: '*Disapproving grunt* Ho hoo.'.

(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'I can't believe they're doing this. It's some kind of nightmare.'.

(Ch. B [Wideband]) Dawn transmits: 'Believe it.'.

(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Ok, fine. But I certainly don't have to like it.'.

(Ch. B [RepComm]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'Anyone online here yet?'.

(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Roger.'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Careful.'.

(Ch. C [Replihunters]) Guardian Sasquatch transmits: 'Eh?'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'Seems relatively quiet here in NYC for now.'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Testing like that isn't good.'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'Just making sure its online'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'How can we? It'd take too long to get there.'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Their teleporter grid is /down/. Not deactivated, but totally /trashed/.'.

(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Well that I know..'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'We can still use some ground transports.'.

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Don't know, Twila. It's too quiet here... might want to see if we can. I don't like how this feels."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "I never did. How tho? Anyone who can operate the Vorpal?"

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "We can only fit a few people inside."

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Do we have a liason with them?"

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "Meant for transportarion actually. As Dawn stated the teleporters are trashed. And a liason for the UN? Not that I'm aware of..."

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Ah. Yeah, the Vorpal would be best. Come in stealthed."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "I can't drive it. We need a pilot."

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Don't look at me.. I only fly myself. Unfortunately."

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Masters are nervous. Think the Mavericks are going to come for them."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "I know. Snake Man asked me to meet with me and told me as much yesterday. Stated that the Masters aren't behind this."

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'Can someone go the UN HQ in Seoul and talk to them?'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'I...could try.'.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "I'm sure all this is some Maverick plot and everyone's being duped."

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I agree.. but what can we do?"

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "I...I don't know."

Dawn has done the same thing. But...she seems poised to leap back into the

(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Want...me to go with you, Dawn?'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'It might be a good idea.'.

(Ch. C [Broadband]) Air Wraith transmits: ' Hey were are you going?'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'Wait... something's happening here.'.

(Ch. C [Repliforce]) Sonata transmits: 'I'm free if you need me Dawn.'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Seoul. To see if we can stop this...I have an idea.'.

Twila Peterson stands up from her seat and turns towards the arriving group. "Dawn...ready?"

Dawn in fact /does/ leap into a teleporter, only after nodding once. "Yeah. Going..." *Sha-ZAM!*

(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'What?'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'A massive UN strike force is coming through'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: '........ they've opened fire.'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Hurrying.'.

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "The UN is attacking Repliforce!"

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "I think I'm gonna throw up..."

<Shortly...>

Seoul - United Nations Plaza

It is here that most of the world's decisions are made. The kind of power here reflects in the architecture, with the HUGE UN building that holds the General Assembly. Blue and dome shaped in design, it is the only one in the world of its kind, and workplace to the thousands that work here. The perimeter of the General Assembly building is surrounded the flags of every country that has a seat, which is nearly everyone. Outside are a number of other large office buildings, ranging from delegate bureau's, to the Headquarters of the UN Police, to a Repliforce office. Constantly patrolled and guarded by UN Police, safety is among an utmost concern after the infamous April Fools Day Massacre. Despite that, the place is a very safe environment.

A motley assortment of characters in tiedye, stretch pants, long hair, some barefoot, and smell strongly of pot. They're preaching 'Make Love Not War' and 'Peace for all - Reploid and Human Alike' ... And of course, "Legalize Pot." The flower children are attempting to calm the disgruntleds down apparently by the third hand smoke coming from their massive usage of mary jane.

A rather large crowd of people protesting also in front of the United Nations. They're all humans, of various ages, colors, and genders. Their signs range from 'COLONEL = RAMPAGE,' 'HOW MANY MORE MUST DIE?' and 'WHO WILL PROTECT US FROM THE REPLIFORCE?' Clearly, these people are not happy with the current state of affairs..

(Ch. C [None]) Shield transmits: 'Dawn....'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'God that my optics had never seen this day...'.

Twila Peterson continues on...guiding her hoverbike...indeed looking quite pale. Upon reaching the plaza she slows down a bit upon seeing some of the crowds... "This is insane!"

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'I'm trying to put a stop to this.'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'Too late....too late...'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Maybe not.'.

(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'We at least have to try. We can't just sit back and watch can we?'.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "Looks like a mad house here at the UN."

Dawn is waiting right at the U.N. building, trying to argue her way in. Seems to be shouting for McLaren a lot...

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "They're massacring each other..."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "Feel so helpless."

Twila Peterson stops her bike, deactivates, and attempts to catch up with Dawn as she does...

Sonata is also trying to catch up with Dawn as well as trying to keep an eye on the two mobs.

Though the crowds roar, and the UN Police act as riot guards... a solitary figure approaches the doorway. His steps are like thunder, a scente plume of smoke comming out from around his head like steam engine. And at his appearance, the crowds quickly pull back from trying to crush into the doorway. Why might this be??

Because they've had experience with this no nonsense, iron hard Veteran known only as...

Mr. Fury. And a Storm's coming..

"WHAT IN THE NAME O' THE GOOD LOARD IS THAT RACKET?!?!?!?!?!?" His shout can be heard across the land, his face red, a temple pulsing on his forehead.

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I'm trying to get the local authorities to evac people here. Just keep trying to convince the UN to stop."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "We'll do our best. Know you will as well."

Dawn is wise enough to fly over the mobs...though she is respecting U.N. police boundaries. As Bruce Fury shows his ugly mug, she calls out to him. "Hey! Mr. Fury! Over here!"

Twila Peterson pauses as the crowd pulls back and looks into the direction of the sudden silence. She recalls meeting this one...although only sparsely to be honest. She finally makes it to Dawn's side. "Please, Sir...is there anyone we can talk to here?"

<Global News Network> *Emergency Broadcast System* This is NOT a test! All civilians are to evacuate the city of New York /immediately/ by order of the mayor and City Council. This is not a drill. Take only what you can carry to designated ground transport sites. Police escorts ont he roads will guide you to these areas. This is not a test.... (repeats)

Bruce Fury turns obviously blood shot eyes down onto Dawn, first, a blurry recognition. Then looks to Twila, that same eternal fire of anger and frustration burning in him, brighter than ever. Add that to the fact that he's raging drunk to boot. He leans heavily on his cane, blowing out another plume of smoke before he growls: "What the hell you two want? Someone ta talk too?" Steel pebble eyes narrow: ".. Then I'm that man."

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Well, got the locals to declare evacuation. Didn't take much convincing."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "Guess not."

Dawn seems reasonably patient, but more worried than anything. "Alright. I'll make this to the point...what authority do you have over military operations, Mr. Fury?"

Twila Peterson opens her mouth to respond...but then notices someone is injured. Not readily seeing anyone near to help with the individual she apologetically leaves Dawn's side to offer her aid.

Bruce Fury growls out around his cigar, putting a horned, callused hand up to his head: "Wha? Hell, girl, I outrank every damned person in de frackin' UN, save McLaren herself, when it comes ta war. What you want? Legalize pot? Join the frackin' crowd." He gestures at the Hippies, who.. having experience the Wraith of the Old Man earlier.. collectively shiver.

Sonata is almost through the crowd when she notices Twila going to a civilian's aid. She switches directions slightly to offer Twila her assistance. If nothing else maybe she can keep the medic from being overwhelmed by the crowd.

Dawn remains largely calm even as Fury begins to rant. "No. That's not what I want. If McLaren is busy, then I want to talk to you. This attack on Repliforce...it'll provoke things. They've been hiding in their shell, and a fight now will only anger them out of it."

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "You guys have to do something. There's so much carnage..."

Bruce Fury growls around his cigar, scowling: "Woman, I've been a frackin' military man before that frackin' quack Light ever got his little wet dream about the frackin' walkin' toasters. You think I don't know that? Tell me somethin' new. Otherwise, I got liqour ta drink. Maybe I ken forget this entire damned mess for a few hours."

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'I think I'm gonna be sick..'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'I'm talking with the head of U.N. military...and he's...'.

The Angry Old Man RUMBLES in a growl. Bloodshot eyes narrow slowly at the flying trashcan, the cigar grinded between ivory teeth till it looks like it should be screaming in pain. He raises a single, thick finger, and jabs it towards the floating Dawn: "Get cher tinaft down here, woman, and I'll /show/ you military grade aft whoopin'. What the hell you know anyways? Sheeeet. You ain't in here, watching McLaren get her damn head called fur protecting Reploids er protecting Humans. You talk ta THEM" He points a finger at the crowds "If'n ye want policy change. We're just frackin' servants o' the populace." He snorts: "God damned beaurcrats. I had my way, I'd walk my happy little aft down there, drag that fool Thackery back behind the barn, and give 'em a good WHACK'in."

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'Why is the UN doing this?'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: '*yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn* Nani?'.

(Ch. C [None]) Shield transmits: 'Because they have no sense of history.'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'The UN is attacking Repliforce Island. It's a total massacre.'.

(Ch. C [None]) Shield transmits: 'Massacre, perhaps. But so far at least Repliforce has not been beaten.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: '... Oh, great.'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'But the UN forces are mostly humans...'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'I'm trying to talk them out of it...But Fury's just not listening. Looks drunk.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: '... Sigma's radioing me.'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Wha?'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: '... Oh my.'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'Boss?'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'He wants to speak about 'The present state of affairs... and the necessity of an alliance.''.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'An alliance?'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'You've GOT to be kidding'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'No...I see where this is going. I even know what points he'll present.'.

(Ch. C [None]) Shield transmits: 'Sir. /Please/ do not make us fight Repliforce. I am begging you.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: '*soft sigh* I'm at least going to talk to him.'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'He's not even listening...'.

Bruce Fury snorts a thick plume of smoke, rubbing his temples. Politics give him a headache. It was so much easier when he KNEW who the enemy was, and could just put a bullet through their head. "Yea, sure, we could. And ye know what'd happen? Thackery'd turn the world on us, we'd get put out o' power, and he'd still have his little holy war. Damn, girl, you don't know a thing, do ya? Frackin' toasters..." He grunts: "The Mob's with him now. And all we ken do is ride the tide till we can get reins back on tha damn thing.

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Rock, please. Don't make an alliance with the Mavericks! I never asked anything regarding your command before. I'm asking now.'.

(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: '...'.

Dawn sighs, and begins to fly away again. "I thought you were held only to the ideals of your profession. Not politics. Seems I was wrong. I'm going."

Twila Peterson hurries back after offering the medical aid to some of the protestoirs, not having heard most of the conversation and regretting it....especially after seeing Dawn start to leave. She then turns to Fury. What did you say to her?

Bruce Fury throws his cane at Dawn as she flies away, shouting: "GOD DAMMIT!! GET YER AFT BACK HERE AND BAD MOUTH ME FACE TA FACE, TINCAN!!!"

<Global News Network> *Emergency Broadcast System* The evacuation of New York City continues as a desperate battle rages at Repliforce Island. The mayor and local police have been using everything from buses to milk hovertrucks to evacuate the populace from the area. All New York citizens are ordered to report to their nearest evacuation checkpoint and to leave their personal vehicles behind.

Sonata's eyes narrow as she sees Dawn get whacked with the cane, though like Twila she has no idea what has transpired.

Dawn is struck in the face by the cane, and winces a little, but catches it. "You'll get it back when you learn how to behave." Good job Fury, you lost another cane.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Signal Shrike: "Signal...you still there?"

Signal Shrike sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "....Yeah."

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Rock?'.

(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: '... Yes?'.

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: '*deep breath* Please, think this through. If the Repliforce had turned don't you think the Mavericks would be welcoming them with oipening arms instead of what's happening?'.

Fury is, to be blunt, FURIOUS. He shakes a fist at the flying Hunter, takes a deep breath... and begins. He has been through many wars, with many people, in many places. Throughout his many years, he has learned more curses, cusses, and blood blugeoning words than most people alive today. Thus, he begins to hurl 'naughty' word after word, enough to make Anthem fall in love and a sailor blush.

It goes on for six minutes.

He doesn't repeat himself once.

(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'Twila... if Repliforce has turned, I don't know. They seem not to care... they were fighting AGAINST MAvericks in San Angeles... I have no real choice...'.

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Rock, something must have been wrong with those Repliforces. I learned *all* of them were the new cadets...the same ones that attendeded boot camp. Sentinal was in contact with them. They were they *only* ones to receive that vid tape command of 'Colonel' to attack.'.

(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'Twila, I know... but we can't take chances. Not in this line of work.'.

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'You realize if this *is* a Maverick ploy once Repliforce and the Masters are out of the way everyone else will be next.'.

Dawn makes plans to throw the cane back at Fury, later on. And she throws WAY harder than he does. Regardless, the tiniest non-Fliptop, non-Pet Hunter flies out of the area in silence.

Twila can't help but try again after he finishes his string of curses. "Sir," she says, offering at least respect to his title. "Sir, please...what did you tell her?"

Sonata says, "Twila...think uhm..I should go after her?"

Twila Peterson nods towards Sonata. "Make sure she's alright at least?"

ATTN: Standing Orders Tue Feb 13 Rock

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rock's face appears on the screen, in full X armor.

"Attention all Hunters. These orders are NOT to be ignored; if they are, you'll be brigged and probably ousted from the organization." He looks a bit stressed, as is to be expected. The Mavericks, currently, are to be considered unofficial allies: you are not to attack them, and I have Sigma's word... and in light of the current crisis, I trust it, that the Mavericks will not attack us."

Shaking his head, he sighs. "And now, we wait..."

Hunter Spinny.

==============================================================================

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'WHAT?!'.

(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'The... the hell?'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Not over the air.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: '*soft sigh* I have no other choice... so we have to wait and see how what's happening in Repliforce HQ plays out. I know you all don't like it, but...'.

(Ch. C [Hunter]) Fugue transmits: 'It's OK. Whatever happens.. I'm with you, Mega Man.'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'But... they're Mavericks...'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Enough. Remember, others /can/ hear these transmissions.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'I know that! Don't you think, if we had another choice, I would've done THAT?!'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Think what you will about this, but questioning him like this to the public?'.

(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: '... so we're going to sign a deal with the devil to win this war?'.

(Ch. C [None]) Shield transmits: 'This isn't a public frequency, unless Repliforce posted the encryption code on a billboard'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'Keep the chatter to yourselves or direct radio... *sigh* If I'd had another choice, I wouldn't have to take this one.'.

(Ch. B [RepComm]) Signal Shrike transmits: 'I... I just can't.... after what the Mavericks have done, I just can't..'.

Bruce Fury finally winds down, turns, and puts an ICE/FIRE glare on Twila. Glower. -_= However, as /she's/ human, she's offered at least a little less anger than he'd give to any walkin' tincan with a smart aft mouth. "I told 'er there weren't a damn thing I could do. Thackery's little holy war can't be stopped, even if I order the UN forces into retreat."

It dosen't seem a bit surprising to her regarding Thackery's involvemnt really. "Just what hold does Thackery have here?" Twila insists on asking.

Bruce Fury snorts, grunts as he leans on a cane that isn't there. After recovering from a small stumble, he growls in Dawn's general flight direction again: "... damn vigilantes..." He then ashes his cigar, and grunts: "He's got the world's ear, thas what. Hell, I outrank him in battle, an' I could simple as fact order him out of that tank an' back ta Seoul. But then he'd have the mob mentality pull me, McLaren, and everyone else thas' against him out o' office. Then there'd be no one ta counter him."

Twila Peterson seems to go ashen. Thackery has that much hold? "Who's there to counter him now if anyone keeps silent?"

Bruce Fury growls quietly: "Woman, you think I been silent? Hell, I been tellin' that fool off from day one, banging on McLaren's door night and day, and tellin' off every damn chicken sheet senator I ken get my hands on. It don't help. I'm just the Liaison in charge of the armed forces. Civilian. Hell, I ain't got no pull cause that damn tin army decided to go haywire."

(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'I've considered that, Twila. Just... please, trust me. You've trusted me before, love. Do I not hold your faith anymore?'.

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'I hold faith in you. But not your decision. Rock, your not listening to reason. Sigma and the Mavericks are the driving force behind this and placed it into motion. Don't you think it's strange that the Mavericks are insisting along with the UN that Repliforce be decimated? Who do you have the past history of trusting more? Repliforce or the Mavericks?'.

(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: '*soft sigh* I've considered all this, Twila... as I said. There's no other choice...'.

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Yes there is. Rock...there's got to be a way to find out the truth and expose it for what it really is. An Alliance with the Mavericks isn't the way to do it.'.

(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'Until then... if Repliforce attacks, we don't have the manpower to fight back, Twila. This is a precautionary action... and we're still working at finding the truth.'.

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Tell that to Rick's parents.'.

(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: '*soft sigh, and silence*'.

Iris sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Thank you...for your voice of reason...please don't let them do this..."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Iris: "I'm trying. But I don't know if anyone's listening. My thoughts and prayers go with you and the others, Iris...and for us all."

Twila draws a breath to try and keep herself calm. "Sir, is there anyone else here that feels the same as you do?"

Bruce Fury snorts another thick plume of smoke: "Course there is. McLaren, fer one. Didn't you hear her damn speech? She knows them Mavs is up to no good. But if she tries to send the UN after 'em now... the world's gonna go into a riot."

Twila Peterson dips her chin in response. "Anyone else? Anyone at all?"

Bruce Fury rubs his rough, unshaven chin with a horned palm as he thinks it over. "Hrmph. Can't rightly tell. Everyone's ta busy quackin' in their damned boots ta pick a side an' stick ta it." He quite suddenly spits to the side: "/politics/"

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: '*long pause* Rock, promise that you'll keep your eyes open.'.

(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'I will, Twila. I always do. I love you.'.

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Love you too. Just...don't expect me back at base right away.'.

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'God go with you, Rock.'.

(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'You too, love.'.

Twila Peterson releases a small sigh. "It's important to find out if there is. Politics won't matter much if the Mavericks happen to get want they want. And so far they seem to be doing just that."

Bruce Fury chuckles slowly: "Woman, the day a politican takes a risk is de day I put on a tu-tu and dance in de russian ballet. They ain't gonna go against mob rule, at least till everything simmers down enough where McLaren ken talk sense into folks."

Twila Peterson looks off towards the crowds surrounding them before refocusing. What is wrong with everyone these days. "The least that can be done is try, Sir. It only takes one spark to light a fire. If there's one person who sees what's happening as it really is there must be others."

Bruce Fury grumbles a few times, and puffs on his cigar angrily: "Ye ain't never seen nothin' like this, have ye? I seen it plenty o' times, durin' the Robot Wars, when we'd get routed. Mob rules. Ye can't swim against the stream. Even if there were enough people out there that see whas goin' on, ye'd still have to pull the hyperactive frackin' crowd back down to the minority."

Twila Peterson shakes her head that no, she hasn't seen it. "I'm not a politition and have never claimed to be one. I don't often become immersed in politics. All I know is if something isn't done soon...there may not be time enough to have it done at all."

Bruce Fury snorts, crossing his arms over his chest: "Yer tellin' /me/ this? World's gone ta hell in a handbasket. I'll tell ye a secret, Ma'am, but is gonna be between you an' me, Got it?"

Twila Peterson offers a small nod. "You...have my word."

Bruce Fury leans in, breath still heavy with the scent of alchohol, his own eyes bloodshot horribly. This war's not been taken lightly by The Old Man. ".. McLaren ain't holdin' up ta well. I may not seem like the brightest, Ma'am, but I's know when someone's been crying their damned hearts out. Its hit her hard, and Thackery ain't helpin' a damned bit. Shes doin' what she ken to calm the world down, but de senate's against her. She's hanging by a thread. And with her, the entire damned world." He snorts again, and leans back, looking off to the horizon: "Well, Thackery's troops shoulda been smashed by now. I told him ta let me lead the damned charge, maybe save a few lives." He snorts again: "... gotta get me a new cane too."

Back at Repliforce Headquarters...

As the officers requested enter the Command Chamber, the General's chair is actually facing away from them. His eyes seem to be completely focused upon several viewing screens before him, form still and silent. On them play various clips of the Maverick Hunters, Mavericks and even members of the United Nations in battle. The Commander and Chief appears to be studying these with the fullest of interest. As he finally takes heed of their entry, though, the General stirs and lifts his gaze up slightly, his voice rising to greet them as he turns toward them, "Well done...All of you. We have held the initial assault meant to try our spirits and test our defenses. The United Nations undoutedly realizes that they cannot defeat us with arrogance and pride."

A pause is given as he looks over everybody gathered, his mind clearer than it has been in quite sometime. He almost seems his normal self, but the sadness still lingers within his voice, "We can expect them to reform and hit us again not long from now. This time, they will have help. I predict it to be in the form of Maverick Hunters and members of the Coalition for Reploid Freedom." Odd that he chooses to use the faction's original name at a time such as this. Shifting a bit, the General raises a hand to point at the various viewscreens displaying the information he was studying initially, "Before you are clips of the best all three factions have. We will see them all there and in great force." The hand lowers, joining its brother upon the desk in resting.

"I do not have to tell any of you of the importance concerning the battle that comes. If we lose this fight, we will likely lose the war. All of you know that we cannot allow this to happen. If it does, Sigma will triumph. Humanity will celebrity a hollow victory, ignorant in the treachery that shall befall their race." His head bows, slowly, and shakes, "...Genocide... Colonel. Anthem. Jet Stingray. Skyblade Eagle. King Dragon. Iris... We stand not for ourselves this night.." He lifts the gaze enough for his eyes to be revealed through the shadows of his cap's visor, "...We stand for them... We stand so that their blood may not fill the streets... That the Earth might not cry out for a vengeance it shall not recieve. We are all that can stand against them, now."

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'ALL HUNTERS! Report to the Command Center immediately.'.

(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: '...I can't say I didn't see this coming...'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Jazz transmits: 'Wow..Already here!^_^'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'And arm yourselves... Twila, you're excused from battle. Prepare for assault on RFHQ... *resists a sigh*'.

(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'WHAT??'.

(Ch. C [Silverstar]) Jazz transmits: 'On...uh..RFHQ?...wow...'.

Twila Peterson knew something was wrong regarding McLauren as she recalls the telecast. When several transmissions come over her radio she covers her mouth with a gloved hand. "Hunter assualt on Repliforce Headquarters. Alliance with the Mavericks..."

Bruce Fury quirks a single eyebrow at Twila's comment "Vigilantes finally makin' a move, eh? Damn fools. And with the rabid toasters as well..." He shakes his head: "I swear ta god, them damn frackin' gun totin' vigilantes shoulda been shut down and locked up long ago. Well, mebee after they take down the tin army.." He grumbles a bit, looking back to the horizon.

(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Rock...please don't. This is insane! Don't you see what your doing?'.

(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'Twila... please. *cuts off this band*'.

Long distance to Rock: Twila Peterson snickers and say that one coming... :-)

<Back at Repliforce Island...>

General raises his hand in an acknowledging return, "And I as well, Colonel. Sir, God go with you ... All of you. Now..." He slowly raises from his desk to full height, a massive arm rearing up for the hand to point, "...Repliforce, move out! Fortify our positions as best as possible for the coming wave. We must stand -- we must not fall... To the last man, the last soul - we must remain. Take that in your hearts, forget not this night, and know that all of the valiant men that have died in the past go with you here tonight. I am them ... They are me, and we stand together." The other officers within the room, mostly for communication purposes, salute the General as he makes that proclaimation.

"I will join all of you outside shortly ... For the glory of this world and its survival, ready your squadrons. Here, we shall hold. Hold to the end."

---

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'Everyone, get your armaments and load up into the Vorpal. If you can pilot a Ride Armor, grab the Kodiak.'.

(Ch. C [Election]) Defender Dingo transmits: 'Understood mate. On me way.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'When we get to New York, we'll be outside sensor range. We'll attack once Vile gives me a signal.'.

(Ch. C [Repliforce-Main]) Magma Dragoon transmits: 'X... You can't be serious?'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'I am, Magma... *shakes his head* Don't question my orders.'.

(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'He is...'.

(Ch. C [Repliforce-Main]) Magma Dragoon transmits: 'X, do you realize what your saying?'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'He does. Enough.'.

(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'He'd better.'.

Twila Peterson stares heatedly at her radio, not able to decipher whether or not to return to Light Labs not or...not...especially with all that's going on. Her eyes mist over however...whatever the outcome of this may be...it will only make matters even more worse. "Now what...?"

Bruce Fury grins, speaking with his drunken voice: ".. The world's reloadin', Girl. You ready fer a bang?"

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "Rock won't listen."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: " Damn..."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "And there's now an alliance with the Mavericks. It's official."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I know.. which is why I am fighting to decide which side to be on."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "I'm presently speaking with a UN Rep..."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Alright... see what you can do.. I am going to assist the Repliforce."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "Copy that. God be with you, Magma. May he be with all of us."

Twila Peterson casts her gaze towards the ground, feeling rather powerless. But then...unknown to her, General did refer to her once as a helpless observer. And more than likely that's true. Even so. "And there's nothing we can do to stop it?"

Bruce Fury shakes his head a few times, growling: "Nope. No politician's gonna play Maryr, save Thackery.. and thats cause the fools from the same place I am. Good ol' UNAF. He's a warhause like me, only he knows how ta play this frackin' game."

Twila grunts in frustration. "Sir...is it possible Thackery made some kind of deal with the Mavericks?"

Bruce Fury blinks a few times, glancing down at Twila in surprise: "Him? Hell, womman, he hates them damn tincans more than I do. And thats sayin' something."

(Ch. C [Repliforce-Main]) Magma Dragoon transmits: 'X.. I apologize for this, but... I cannot allow the Mavericks to do this.. Dragoon out.'.

(Ch. C []) Swing transmits: 'Boss!'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: '... DAMMIT.'.

(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Ya know guys. *munchmunchmunch*.'If you haven't left by now, you've given Rock the impression you were in it for the long haul.'

(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Stop being sissies and do your job. War isn't fun. And war has no winners and losers. If you wanted fun and games, you should've applied at Wally World. Now shaddup and listen to X, he's the best damn commander you'll ever have.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'KILL THE CHATTER and get into position.'.

Michael Eildath sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I know that you don't agree with what's happening... neither do I. But I'll try to make sure that the Mavericks don't stab us in the back. It's all I /can/ do..."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Michael Eildath: "Just do what you can do. God be with you. Michael."

Michael Eildath sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "God be with us all..."

(Ch. C [Broadband]) Air Wraith transmits: ' So Zero, why are you not following his orders? Can't take your own advise?'.

(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Secure that mouth, Wraith. We don't have time for attitude now.'.

(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Because, nitwit, I quit a few days ago. Wake up and smell the coffee. I'm cutting transmission, you guys have fun. I'd like to see y'all when this is all said and done.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'HUNTERS. When you see my Megablast fire into the air, that's the signal to attack.'.

(Ch. C [Election]) Defender Dingo transmits: 'Gotcha.'.

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Twila... I believe you are the only one right now that I can trust... Tell the Hunters and Swing, that I will not harm them.. Only the Mavericks."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "*shakily* Acknowledged. But that doesn't mean they won't."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I understand..."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "God be with you on the field, Magma."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: " Your Prayers are welcomed."

(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Magma Dragoon wanted me to relay that he won't be harming any Hunters...or Swing...only Mavericks.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'DAMMIT. DO NOT ATTACK THE MAVERICKS. That is a DIRECT order.'.

(Ch. C [Repliforce-Main]) Magma Dragoon transmits: 'It's one I am ignoring... that is all. *click*'.

Twila Peterson let's out a breath. "Sometimes throughout history enemies have made alliances or deals to get what they want...and try to do away with the allies once thye get what they want. Thackery may be doing just that. Isn't it possible that he made a deal in order to be able to get rid of the reploids...all reploids? Including the Mavericks when he's done with the other factions?" Twila adds.

<Sometime in the near future...>

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'KEep going! WE -HAVE- to get across the bridge.'.

Bruce Fury grumbles a bit, growling: "Thackery's a lot o' things, Ma'am... but I don't think even he'd make a deal with the Mavericks." He leaves a 'lot of things' up to the imagination, but knowing how well the Angry Old Man can cuss..

Twila then questions... "But, isn't at least *possible*? As soon as the Repliforcers and Hunters and Masters are done away with he would be then be free to turn on the Mavericks when he wanted...and have everyone beyond him and place blame soley on the Mavericks. Thackery would then have his robot-free society."

Bruce Fury grumbles a bit, then rubs his chin. This is the same man who would accuse a Reploid of being Maverick just cause it looked at him wrong: ".. Still sounds a bit fishie. It's a slippery enough tactic fer the bastard, but it's still sidin' with robots."

"Yes...it is. But what if may have thought it was worth it for a time to ultimately get what he wanted," she persists. "Thackery was there right when Double was first being pouned on by 'Colonel'. He watched. He was right there as soon as it started...

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'Hunters... good luck!'.

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "*sounds of gunfire and explosions reign in the background, along with a loud Clang* Aggggh! Twila! How's it coming on your end!?"

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "I'm trying!"

Twila Peterson offers a helpless gesture. "I admit that I'm clutching at straws...but straws are all I have left. As for assumptions, isn't he the one that's been pushing against Repliforce...even since this all started? Some of his previous attempts at legislation and then position as Secretary General have all failed. If it's a stray thought...then it's a stray thought. I wouldn't want to accuse anything on an innocent man. But isn't this what's being done to Repliforce?"

(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: '... welp, time for me to have my last dance.'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'What?'.

(Ch. C [Broadband]) Air Wraith transmits: ' I thought you chose to hide Zero?'.

(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'Not hide, kid. I've got a date with destiny.'.

(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: 'And an old score I've got to settle.'.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Seminole: "Seminole, you recieving?"

Seminole sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Roger, Twila."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Seminole: "I'm here in Seoul talking with a UN officer. Sem, what do you know of Marvin Thackery other than he's the head of the 'Children of Eve'?"

Seminole sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Senator to the UN, Alabama State of North America. Elected in 2206, again in 2210 and is in his fourth year of his third term. Lifelong prejudices against Reploids and most robotics. High on the Maverick hit list."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Seminole: "How high are his prejudices?"

Seminole sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "He'd like us all destroyed."

Kelly McLaren has connected.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Seminole: "Possibly so badly he'd make a deal with the devil to do it?"

Seminole sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I don't know the man well enough to make that judgment, but I wouldn't put it past him."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Seminole: "A thought is not an outright judgment. But he's the one who has the power here at the UN for the moment, he's the one that's been demanding that Repliforce be deactivated. He's the one that first declared that Colonel should be placed on trial. He's the one that was there seeing Double as he was getting beaten bu 'Colonel'. It may be a coincidence, Sem. I just don't know."

Seminole sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "That makes two of us, Twila. However, keep in mind, only the Secretary General can order the Repliforce to stand down. Ms. McLaren is not stupid, or naive."

Twila Peterson walks away a little from the crowds and seats herself on a bench, wrapping herself protectively and sighs.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Seminole: "I...know that too. If this is all possible...could she somehow be forced to do it? You saw her original speech regarding Repliforce and how it was given."

Bruce Fury is standing there, peering out at the horizon while his radio comm chatters away... voices of panic, pain, blood lust. War. Something he has long since grown used too.

For all her time in the Hunters Twila still isn't used to it...and probably never will be. And knowing once allies are are now battling is tearing her apart inside.

Witjin her own office...Kelly McLaren places her hands behind her back, staring out into the distance. She isn't used to war either, but accepts what is happening. She had done her best to prevent it - but her best efforts proved fruitless. Her countenance is set in stone.

Seminole sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "It's possible... but we don't have any proof."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Seminole: "I know. And right now these are just assumptions."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Meredith: "*shakily* Mary...you reading?"

Meredith sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "*light sigh* Praying, Twila. Praying. You.. aren't sounding very good."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Meredith: "There a reason for me to be? I suppose you may have heard by now. The Hunters and Mavericks are in alliance and are now attacking Repliforce Island."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Michael Eildath: "Mike...what's going on at the battle?"

Michael Eildath sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "You... you... you don't wanna know..."

Meredith sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I've heard, Twila. I've heard. I've been on my knees for hours, crying, pleading, pouring out my soul for it to stop, Praying for a miracle. ...Would you care to come to my facility,

Twila, so we may keep each other company? ...It's... pretty lonely here, with most of the plant shut down."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Meredith: "The New York Teleporters were trashed. There's little way for me to get there except by air. Mary...aren't you in a shelter?"

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'I've...almost broken through, I think.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: '... I'll be up against General momentarily.'.

(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Oh no...'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: '... what?'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Wha?'.

(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'Robot Masters.'.

(Ch. C [Hunter-CoC]) Zero transmits: '*pant* what, like you didn't think they'd show up sooner or later?'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'Then fight them as well. But don't harm Mavericks...'.

Meredith sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "No, I am not. ARC is so far out in the New England countryside, it's not been touched at all. I've sent my employees home, with pay, so they may care to personal matters of family and home."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Meredith: "You sure?"

Meredith sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I am. I.. live below the facility as well. A bit strange, I suppose..."

Twila Peterson casts her glance around. She swallows hard as her arms lower to her sides. She smoothly stands up, glancing once within the direction where Fury once was...and sends him a radio message...and takes her leave.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Bruce Fury: "It...alright if I contact you later?"

Bruce Fury sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "....if there's a later, Ma'am, I'll by ye a frackin' drink and dinner."

Bruce Fury ponders that radio message, then sends back his own sardonic reply, a slight chuckle coming from his gruff self.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Bruce Fury: "*harried sigh* Understood."

<After some travel...>

New England at the Able Robotics Company <ARC>

Once past the rather thorough security staff, one would immediately be given a guest tag and directed to the business office. Employees have special access cards that lead to the indoor parking garage. The business office on the exterior is a white stone two story structure of a space-age design. Large solar panels set upon the roof next to a helipad.

The upper floor protrudes several meters over the first floor, southward - over the main entrance. One must use the guest tag to slide through the card reader to gain access. Once in here, a smiling, young blonde secretary would greet you and ask your business.

Meredith receives a radio transmission from Twila Peterson.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Meredith: "Just about there. Mary...received word that the Masters are now attacking."

Meredith sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "...I heard. On the radio."

Well. The Facility, once entered, is... like a ghosttown. There's one guard, the rest of the lights are off all across the plant. There's only one warm glow that's visable, and that's in the business office, the protrusion.

Twila Peterson makes it a point to park her bike and deactivate it. She then begins tentatively approaching the lone guard, asking for admittance.

Chain, the only guard who decided to stick around even after given paid leave, grants it. The Reploid was warned ahead of time she was coming. He idly gestures toward a... large... silhouette, that stands wayyy behind the fence, next to the business office door, The ARC Defender, and explains the door's unlocked. "Just take the elevator to the second floor, turn right, end of the hall."

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: '*WHAM* One down...orders?'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'Keep fighting... I'm about to engage the general.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'Will do...'.

King Dragon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Chosen Twila."

Twila Peterson pauses as am unexpected transmission comes through.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to King Dragon: "King?"

The large double doors open quietly on their own. "Come in," Meredith softly calls from within.

King Dragon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I once did ask thee to speak of Him to me, for my understanding. I fear I shall not keep my word to thee, for now."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to King Dragon: "Wha---King? What---?"

Twila Peterson finds herself frozen at the door...unable to move. Her skin pales further as the communiqués begin to sink through...

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to King Dragon: "King...please don't!"

King Dragon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Hear me Twila Peterson, Lady Chosen, Twila. My time came long ago, for the Last. I am not now, nor have I ever been, a Dragon; such was that which Men did make of me when my time had come."

"Twila?" Mary's lithe figure moves from the darkened area, toward the door, dim light from the fireplace inside catching her fragile features. She finally stands before the woman, a concerned frown worn upon her lips.

King Dragon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "For now, my words shall bear little comfort; of humans, this much I understand. Yet, there is also much that thou may learn, and know; you are a healer, a child Chosen by things that even the Last did not know, and that the Dragon could never understand. And the question lies within the Green Heart."

King Dragon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Twila Peterson, I do charge thee. With these my final words, in true faith and honor in the same, I charge thee and thee alone to guard and guide the Green Heart as I did, long ago."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to King Dragon: "*holding back a sob* I...I promise, King. I'll...be the guard..."

Tears begin tricking down Twila's cheeks as she holds back a sob...just staring hopelessly towards Mary as if not even seeing her. Then...without warning, throws herself against the other young woman and holds her tight as if seeking some form of shelter from the madness that has griped them all...

King Dragon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "You will....need a key, Twila Peterson. *hisssss* You will need a talisman of the was one who was Before. With it, the Green will know you, and you will know it; with one to find the other, and unlock the door, so that only you may pass... *hss...* In my Heart that I built to remind me of what I could no longer see, you will find a piece of Me, the Last. The Dragon may not enter, but only the Chosen."

King Dragon pages: The Green Heart was KD's old place; when he was "killed", he *for lack of a better word* magically sealed it against all things of technology. Thus, it was safe from Sigma, but KD couldn't enter it himself.

Meredith blinks, light frame nearly being knocked over - yes, she's that sickly. After catching her balance, she holds Twila tightly, doing her absolute best to console the woman. "Shhh... shhh..." It's all she can think to say - she's not the best comforter in the world. She does, however, gently rock side to side.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: '... And here we go...'.

(Ch. C [RM-MAV-MH-RF-Joint]) Blues transmits: 'To our coffins...'.

(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'And hopefully not straight to hell for what we've done...'.

(Ch. C [RF-MH]) Seminole transmits: '...'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: '... We won't.'.

(Ch. C [RM-MAV-MH-RF-Joint]) Blues transmits: 'More will fall, Brother.'.

(Ch. C [None]) Chain transmits: '<snort> Yer guys 'kin throw inna the $#^-&*#@ towel if yer want, but as for me, I'm gonna fight until I run out of things to beat!'.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to King Dragon: "Where...will...I find this key...?"

King Dragon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "You will know it. For where in the world, but in the Heart, will you find a Dragon's scale? *soft chuckle* Fear not for me, for I await you in the Heart. Find it, and know that I will greet you there; when I travel the stars, I will never forget my Friends. My name is Reynas, Chosen Twila...."

The young woman clings to Mary tighter...at first...at lost for words, at least for her at first. But she does whisper something into her radio that Mary would be able to overhear...defiantly. "Stop the insanity...please..."

(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: '*quietly, as if in tears* Stop the insanity...'.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to King Dragon: "Then there I will meet you Reynas..."

Meredith sighs, merely holding onto Twila as tightly as she can. She swallows hard, feeling tears trail down her own cheeks.

King Dragon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "May the Stars shine brightly for you, Twila................"

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to King Dragon: "*attempts to control emotion* You as well. Until...we meet again."

King Dragon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Until......then. Be at peace.....my little....Chosen....One."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to King Dragon: "God go...with you...Reynas..."

Twila Peterson finally, manages to chokes out, "It's King Dragon...Repliforcer and my friend...he's...dying..."

"...Enough," Meredith whispers, quietly releasing Twila. She swallows hard, and begins for her desk. Something just snapped.

Twila Peterson remains there and wipes her tears. She finally sheds them after these past few days of fighting against the. She watches the young woman enter into her home and follows her, mutely...

Meredith sighs, and whispers a small prayer. Upon the arm of the desk chair, she flips up a panel, and depresses a singular RED button. Out in the distance... something rumbles.

Twila Peterson turns her head at the sound, trying to determine it's source. Silently she dries her eyes and asks quietly, "What are you doing?"

(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Can't any of you see...what your doing?'.

(Ch. C [Broadband]) Air Wraith transmits: ' Getting hurt?'.

(Ch. C [Phoenixflame]) Michael Eildath transmits: 'I've... I've got to pull... pull... pull the Kodiak away... it's too badly damaged.'.

(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'The Mavericks are merely using you!'.

(Ch. C [None]) Shield transmits: '*cough* Fools...'.

Twila Peterson blinkblinks stupidly at first...and then recalls that some of her "hardware" was present at the incident in Portland. "Mary, the only thing that will stop the fighting is if the others had there eyes opened to what was really going on."

Meredith has a seat, flicking another switch in the panel. The literal desktop flips over, and slides back, revealing a computer terminal. The green hued screen flickers on. Command line is all that is available. "...Twila, I understand. But if something isn't done, there's not going to be anyone left to listen... even... if this makes me a target." She begins typing out a syntax, eyes narrowing into the glare of the terminal screen.

Twila Peterson walks over towards the desk and and peers at the screen. "How...how?"

"By making a sacrifice..." Mary tones.

Twila Peterson swallows, asking. "Against the Mavericks?"

Meredith nods quietly. "Yes."

Twila Peterson lowers herself into a nearby seat is there happens to be one...simply staring now at the screen. I don't...know. But...it might send a message..."

"I know, Twila," Meredith sighs. "I know."

Twila Peterson brushes a hand through her auburn locks and sighs once more...not really knowing what to do. But hopes this does help in some way. She adds, "How will you know...what happens?"

Meredith sighs again. "I don't - I know how this may make the public view me. But I'm willing to take that risk."

"I can't suggest what to do. I'm....all out of answers," Twila notes, briefly shaking her head. "All I know is if something isn't done soon there won't be any public to worry about..."

Meredith glances to Twila. "All I can do is try."

(Ch. C [None]) Chain transmits: 'Looks like they're falling back to their base, X.'.

(Ch. C [None]) Shield transmits: 'And do...you intend to...pursue them?'.

Twila Peterson solemnly nods, not...having the words to say right about now. There's too many emotions running through her. "I only wish this to stop..."

Meredith nods, watching statistics race across the screen. "They've pushed in as far as the charlie sector. And are taking names."

Twila Peterson blinks. "How...so?"

Meredith taps the screen with a slender fingernail. "The munitions are... claiming multiple Mavericks... They're making headway better than I thought."

"Well, doesn't help that they have some strong aid to go with them," Twila remarks, disgusted. "If they would just listen!"

"...They're only hitting Mavericks this pass, Twila," Meredith explains, again tapping the screen.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'And General falls...'.

(Ch. C []) Twila Peterson transmits: '*shock* No!!'.

(Ch. C [None]) Chain transmits: 'Rock, the -other- big guy is still standing, Dawn and I are coming out.'.

(Ch. C [None]) Shield transmits: '...General...'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'Which big guy...?'.

<Live News><Extra Camera> ARC Defender has arrived.

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> And as the General is struck, both by the blast and the sabre, he falls down to one knee. His eyes close, but a smile seems to cross his face. Slowly at first, but it grows with time. He looks over at Sigma, eyes narrowing, "...The Repliforce...Will never die. Nothing ... you can do will....ever ensrue.....such a thing......" His body crackles with electricity, the blue bolts lancing over his form in multiple places. "What is done...Had to be... For the truth to ... be revealed. I do not...blame you, Rock... Fight on... For in time, you will realize...your error... When that time, comes...Stop....Sigma...."

Attempting to raise back to his feet, the General coughs, wounds pouring forth fluid and sparks, his voice drying and weakening, yet murmering, "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.." Another cough, hands trembling, tears rolling down the General's cheeks as he raises his eyes skyward, "..Ms. Peterson...Iris...Colonel...I...am sorry...." Then slowly, very slowly, the Repliforce Commander falls. The very earth trembles with the impact, dust rising and his form growing still. His final words uttered, a quote from ages long past in the recesses of his databanks:

"Strike the tents..."

(Ch. C [RM-MAV-MH-RF-Joint]) Blues transmits: 'General dies on your hands Rock, and so will Signas on mine.'.

(Ch. E []) Sigma transmits: 'Thank you, X. Without you this victory would have been impossible.'.

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> Flash Rabbit just leaps over an opposing Maverick as he spots General fall. "Noooooooo!" he shouts, his tears wellin up again. First Cryogen, then Gears, now General. "No more!" he cries, powering up his Laser Cannon to full. Yes Sigma struck the blow that downed General, but his orders remain. And his promise to the Hunter's CO. He launches several blasts from his Laser Cannon at the Hunter, doing everything he can to down his opponent.

(Ch. C [None]) Chain transmits: '<growl> I say we take out the rest of these bloody Mavericks while they're here.'.

(Ch. C [None]) Signas transmits: '*pant* I will not *pant* give up. We cannot give up *pant* There are those who still *pant* need me.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: ' I gave my word. Do NOT attack the Mavericks.'.

Twila Peterson brings a hand up to her mouth in shocked silence...

(Ch. E []) Sigma transmits: 'You've saved the world from a tyrant, Rock. Be proud.'.

(Ch. E [Joint-channel]) Shield transmits: 'Sigma...I /will/ kill you. Not today. Not for many years to come. But one day, when your guard is down, I will slip behind you and remove your head. And it shall hang on my wall.'.

Twila Peterson lowers her hand. "I...can't go back..." she stutters out. "General's...dead. Rock killed him.."

Meredith closes her eyes, whispering "...I'm sorry. I tried..."

Twila Peterson burries her head in her hands in dispair. "By Rock's hands. Rock was the one who...brought him down..."

(Ch. E [None]) Crash Man transmits: 'I know you didn't just risk your life to say that, Harpoon. You're the next to die.'.

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> Sigma begins to float backwards as Vile appears, "Excellent. Insure that this creature doesn't attempt to rescue its dark master... and obliterate any remains. If General survives Repliforce will rise again."

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> The blast slams into Rock, and he tumbles back again. "BACK OFF!" he fairly screams at Flash Rabbit, getting up to his feet. Armor cracked and shattered, he switches into an attack and lets it go. A superheated cyclone washing out at Flash Rabbit, to pick up and toss around the small Reploid. "FIRESTORM CYCLONE!"

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> Vile raises his fist to near eye level, the napalm casting shadows across his helm. "I have no such oaths...." And with that, his hand curls into a fist, the Vile Cannon lurching with expelled antimatter particles for the Rabbit.

(Ch. E [None]) Harpoon Nautilus transmits: 'Arrr, are ye gonna swarm me too?'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'I can make my way back, with Rush... get the rest of the Hunters and go. *all in monotone*'.

After the young Hunter overhears the offer to stay here with Mary for awhile...

Twila Peterson doesn't have the mind in which to think right now that all her things and her little pet happen to be at the Labs. But then, Kyo's probably...safer where she is at the moment. "Thank you, Mary...I can't express how much these means right now..." she says softly.

(Ch. E [None]) Harpoon Nautilus transmits: 'So let me get this straight...Wily kidnaps a woman and tries to make her marry him, an' /now/ ye call thart HONOR?!?!'.

(Ch. E [None]) Harpoon Nautilus transmits: 'BWAHAHAHAHAH!'.

(Ch. E []) Ballade transmits: 'Nautilus - I can pursue beneath the waves. Be silent, or die.'.

(Ch. E [None]) Harpoon Nautilus transmits: 'So let's review, arharhar...Wily kidnaps a woman an' makes her marry her, which is damned near rape...Then she says she hates him, hits him in the nuts, runs...An' now ye try to defend her 'honor', even though she already has X to do that?'.

(Ch. E [None]) Harpoon Nautilus transmits: 'Hell, ye only kidnapped her, terrorized her...'.

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> As per radio orders, that same squad of Med Gumbies are quickly making a descreate way towards General, staying low and almost crawling at times. They aren't soldiers, dammit, they're doctors!!

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'Until I come back to base... Mike is in command.'.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Rock: "Rock...I---I...don't expect me back home...anytime soon."

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> Sigma's eyes widen at the approaching shock wave. He is able to successfully manuever into the air and away from the blast. However the attack serves its purpose, distancing Sigma greatly from General's crumpled remains.

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> Flash Rabbit somehow manages to again dodge Rock, his speed unsurpassed by any, save Quick Man. He quickly backpedals, racing backwards to avoid the cyclone, though his fur singes and smolders from the heat. Thats when he hears a warning over the radio. Turning his head, pain suddenly lances through his back as Vile catches him offguard. "Ngh!!" is all he can cry out as he tumbles to the ground. "I don't care if there's a thousand of you! None of you will get by me!" He picks himself up and raises his hands over his head. They begin to crackle with energy and emit light just before he brings them together. A bright explosion occurs, and a blinding light radiates from his hands, blinding any who happen to be looking.

<Live News><Extra Camera> Suddenly, destructively, There's a flurry of rockets clearing away whatever Maverick and Hunter gumbies remain who were watching the fray develop. And believe me, with the armament these rear three of the six had, they're quickly reduced to slag. Foreshadowing?

"What are sisters for, Twila?" Meredith remarks. "The rear three are upon General, and clearing away the trash. I'll... try to make sure they don't hit Rock."

Twila Peterson nods silently, giving a sigh as if heart were breaking. "Thank you..."

(Ch. E [None]) Harpoon Nautilus transmits: 'Ye Masters crack me up, arharhar.'.

(Ch E []) Charge Man transmits: 'Oh, remembering our encounter at the hospital are. you?'.

(Ch. E [None]) Quire transmits: 'Changing the subject. Guess the Masters can't face the music. Twila aint their mom!'.

(Ch. E [None]) Harpoon Nautilus transmits: 'Word up, wench!'.

(Ch. E []) Guts Man transmits: 'Ma Wily is my mom!'.

(Ch. E []) Ballade transmits: 'Indeed. But she has been ordered protected by Wily. That is sufficient.'.

"If only they had listened..." Twila lamats.

(Ch. E [None]) Crash Man transmits: 'Harpoon Nautilus, you are dead. If I see you, I kill you. That's all there is to know.'.

(Ch. E [None]) Harpoon Nautilus transmits: 'But I ain't hittin' her, only askin' a perfectly normal question about her private, intimate life.'.

(Ch. E [None]) Harpoon Nautilus transmits: 'Ye, ye an' about five of yer buddies, right CabinCrash?'.

(Ch. E [None]) Quire transmits: 'The fall of a massive military power, the death of their leader, alliances with Mavericks... and all we can do is argue about whether or not Twila is the Master's mother.'.

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> Rock's eyes watch Flash Rabbit with fairly obvious impulsiveness. Like something is majorly wrong inside... he blinks once, deftly avoiding the flash attack. Some unseen radio signal, sent a while ago, brings the red form of Rush flying down from the sky. Leaping into the air, Rock merges... his duty done. Now Hyper-X, he boosts up into the sky, giving the fallen Repliforcer a last glance... and heading home.

Meredith nods quietly, sighing. "I've... got a visual of... General. He... doesn't look... good at all." A tear slides down her cheek; her fingers dance across the keyboard. "Curses, these things are slow."

Twila Peterson finally raises up her head to give the screen her attention. She sucks in her breath and pulls back. "No...Oh, please...tell me it's not true..."

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> A few Med Gumbies were looking at the flash as well, and cry out, covering their eyes. "AARGH!" "ACK!!" "I can see the light..."

The rest finally manage to get to General, and begin the laborous task of crawling on top of the massive creature. "DAMN! He's fragged!!" "What can we do?" "Toss me the scanner, lu." A scanner is tossed into a gumbie hand, and after a few moments, another curse is heard: "Spark's fading!!" "We ain't got a generator big enough to support his power matrix!!"

One gumbie looks up: "... yes we do." "What?" "... I'm big enough. Strip me." "Thats suicide!" "DAMMIT, this is for the Repliforce!! Take my weapon systems offline, remove the non-priorities, and wire me in." After a few moments... the rest of the Med Gumbies begin to comply, cannibilizing their fellow Med.

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> Vile raises his forearm to shield the sudden emergence of light, taking slow steps forward through the glow, which turns his entire form an angelic white... Not unlike Vava of old. As the glow begins to subside, Vile's pace increases, into a full out run. As he nears General, he ignores Flash Rabbit, crunching his legs and lurching into the sky, giant plume of napalm beginning to swirl from his fists. And he begins to lower them down to expel on General, "So long, REPLIFORCE!"

(Ch. E []) Ballade transmits: 'Quire - you chose to ally with the Mavericks. Consider the meaning of that word.'.

(Ch. E [None]) Quire transmits: 'No, X did. I'm just along for the ride.'.

"They're on him now, the medics. One just sacrificed himself to restore General's core," Meredith grits out.

Once more Twila swallows...hard. "Such horror. Such bravery and sacrifice," her words form as she takes a shuddering breath...

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> Flash Rabbit doesn't hesitate for a moment. Either General or him. Humanity's finest defender or a bumbling fool designed to keep an old man company. "No you don't!" he screams, putting on a final burst of speed and leaping in front of the ex-Repliforcer to absorb the blow instead. His already smoldering frame all to easily accepts the napalm onto itself, erupting into flames and roasting what remains of the robotic lapine.

(Ch. E [None]) Quire transmits: 'If you look past the dialect he makes a good argument. Twila's not your mother and Wily's interest in her borders on psychotic fixation.'.

(Ch. E [None]) Harpoon Nautilus transmits: 'Which translates to 'perverted old man', arharhar.'.

(Ch. E [Global]) Ring Man transmits: 'That's pretty good, are you a shrink or an idiot who thinks they know something?'.

(Ch. E []) Ballade transmits: 'I know Twila is not my Mother.'.

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> Megalith Gigas lands with a loud *BOOOM* even as his blast sends Sigma hurtling backwards. His huge frame now looming over the fallen form of General. "General's body is to not be defiled nor harmed any further." he declares although his words seem so empty. General's dead isn't he. Megalith's expression remains impassive..which considering his vast frame only makes him all that much more menacing with the cold calculating way he attends to this fight. Simply refusing to let any emotions cloud him right now despite what's /really/ going on inside. Sigma hurtled backwards the giant now raises his hugely muscled arm overhead. Holding it in place as it trembles massivly from the gathering of seismic force within it. He pauses however as Sigma simply pulls back and Megalith relaxs only to turn and see Vile lurching towards him and unleashing a blast of energy at General's body and also him. "Wha.." he rumbles out, slowly at first--only to then widen his optics with the first real show of emotion he's ever had. Shock, terror..and then rage. All at seeing what just happened to Flash Rabbit. "Flash..Flash..no..NOOOO!"

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> Conduit races to where the medics are. He's a generator with legs, theres got to be something of value he can do to assist the gumbies.

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> Vile is beginning his descent as the napalm shoots from his gauntlets, an arching beam of hellish destruction. But as he comes down, Flash Rabbit collides, sending a paralyzing shock through Vile. His napalm slams into the Rabbit, and such a magnitude burns straight into his fuel core, breaching it. The resulting Reploid explosion is immense, a spray of yellow light shoot out across the area as the valiant Repliforcer is consumed. And with the explosion, Vile is sent hurtling backwards, high into the sky, body charred, mangled, and limp. He carries from the shockwaves and plasma pockets for a great distance, bouncing against the hard Repliforce island's artificial surface a few times. Then, Autogun fire erupts across his, bouncing the limp Maverick off the cusp, and deep into the dark waters of the Atlantic below....

<Live News><Extra Camera> Boss Battle> The Med Gumbies glance up once at the massive explosion of light... but can't see anything around Megalith. They shrug, and begin wiring one of their comrades into General's power matrix. "You sure about this?" "... Yea. Do it."

The switch is flipped, and the full brunt of the Gumbie's power core is sent directly into the General himself. Not even sparing enough to remain conscious, the gumbie slumps. He's basically a mindless doll now, providing power... The other Gumbies sweep off their helmets, and seal him in.

(Ch. C [RM-MAV-MH-RF-Joint]) Blues transmits: 'Signas is incapacitaded... as I promised.'.

(Ch. C [MH/RF]) Dawn transmits: 'He's onboard already.'.

(Ch. C [Twila]) Rock transmits: 'Damn it, Blues!'.

(Ch. C [Repliforce-Main]) Magma Dragoon transmits: ' As are many of the Mavericks'.

Meredith glances up. "They've stabalized General, thanks to another sacrifice..." Meredith begins returning to the command screen, and hammers away at the keyboard to bring back the craft.

Twila Peterson leans back within her seat...staring up at the ceiling, not knowing what to think. "Even if all is put right after this...it will never be the same..."

"..." Meredith sits silent for the longest time, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Twila Peterson bites her lower lip to steady herself. She takes off her gloves and wipes her eyes from her own tears...then lays the gloves on the desk. "Mary...you have...a computer or whatnot that I could use. I--I have to tell Rick where I am at least. He'll need to know..."

Meredith nods softly, switching the mainframe into the popular OS of the day, and gets up out of her chair. "Tell him I love him."

Twila Peterson nods gratefully and slips into the seat...breathing in deeply and setting her jaw. "I--I will. Thank you..."

Meredith looks out the window, over the darkened skyline, only vaguely lit in the distance by the fires that still burn on Repliforce Island. She places her hands behind her back, shoulders quivering.

Twila Peterson looks up after finishing her mail and sends it off.. "It's sent. Again...thank you..." she muses, standing up as well. A hand reaches to unbind her hair, although strangely enough she keeps her headset on. "What...do we do now?"

Meredith lowers her head, shoulders lifting in a shrug. "Have your room prepared, I suppose. Do you need to get anything from the Labs..? I do have clothing you can wear." It would be a little tight in some places, considering Meredith's about as big around as a pencil.

Twila Peterson is a petite young woman. So finding her clothes to wear may not be the problem. "I..I can't return their to the labs right now. I just couldn't. Not after what happened." She begins pealing offer her medical gear after taking off her headset...letting it rest there by the gloves. The suit and her medpack are sat in a seat. FOr now, she feels a weight had lifted, if only a small one. "And...Kyo will be alright there too. I know the others will take care of her. I...I informed Rock I wasn't going back...anythime soon."

Meredith nods, and turns toward the woman. "I.. best show you where I live, then." She changes the subject, to try and get their minds off of things. "It's fairly convenient, living below where you work. Who will notice if you're late? And you can go to work in your bathrobe if you wished. Father was notorious for it - speaking of father, you may get to meet him."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Air Wraith: "Thank you for your kindness."

Air Wraith sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: " Ahh it was nothing. Don't worry about it"

Twila Peterson nods slowly as the young woman speaks, then gathers her things, "I will...?" she says, trying to keep her mind focused. She then presses her lips together in thought. "I might try again..to got to Seoul tomorrow..."

Twila Peterson reshifts her things in her arms and follows after her. "How...far is it from your room?"

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "*stuttering* Magma, I---. There anything I can do?"

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: " *sounds of sighes come in the background* Alas... Twila, the battle is over. What is done is done...I am returning to hq."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "I...wish you well. I won't be going back...for right now."

"Not but a door down," Meredith explains while passing through the double doors and into the hall. "I'll never be far away, Twila." She depresses a button upon the Elevator, which arrives within a few seconds. She steps inside, and motions to the key panel. She flips up part of the service panel, and gestures toward a keypad. "This... is how you access the lower levels, my home. Four digit code - not even Rick knows of this, by the by - 6324 - remember that - will take us about two stories below ground."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I Understand...we all have a lot of grieving to do."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "*long pause* If...you have need of me, you can radio me. It'll still be open. I'll...try to visit Seoul again tomorrow if possible."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "I'm sorry."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: " Don't apologize, there is no need for it. Though I will remain open to you as well.."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "Thank you."

Twila Peterson nods in muted response towards her, watching her closely and comitting the numbers to memory. "I'll...remember..."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Twila.."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "Yes?"

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Do you hate X for what he has done?"

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "*Deep sigh* I...no, I don't. He's a victim..."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Tis what I expected to hear from you and I am very proud to call you a friend."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "When you do find the time...Please.. Contact him."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: " Maybe in a day or two.. I don't think he will speak with me, but he could use some guidance since Dr. Light is away."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "*uncertain* Maybe...but he may not listen."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "You are the closest friend he has other than his father and Zero..He will listen."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "I...I'll try..."

Meredith punches the numbers in, and down they go. Radio communication should now get staticy. Once below, the elevator comes to a complete halt, and the door opens up... now, imagine this. Directly in front of them, about ten feet out, is a grand, oaken stairwell leading down. To the left and right is a handrailed walkway, apparently branching off into the rest of the home.

Meredith steps out, explaining, "This is it."

Twila Peterson simply stands by the door, seemingly unfazed by the sight...especially since she has her mind on other matters. Otherwise...she would be impressed by it...

She then steps behind her...walking in, saying with destruction, "It's...nice..."

Meredith grins quietly. "It's home. Bedrooms are this way." Meredith turns right, and follows the mosaic-decorated wall to the first wide hallway to the right, and proceeds. It's extremely quiet down here. "I'll have the bedroom next to mine made up. Each bedroom has its own bath. I'll have the bedroom across from yours made for me, so you can freely come in and out to get clothes, whatever you need without disturbing me. I get cranky/silly when I'm tired."

Despite herself, Twila cracks a tiny grin, but it's without it's mirth. "Sounds just about how I get when I get tired. Being a redhead does have it's drawbacks," she notes drly. "I...thank you for what your doing, Mary. I really do."

And after Mary informs her of some other items...she slips off to go to bed...

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: " *chuckling can be heard* It is strange how two people who have barely known one another can become such good friends in such a short amount of time"

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "Stranger things have happened..."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Indeed."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "Let me know...how things are at base>"

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: " Things... are grim"

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "How...so...?"

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Rock is a wreck.. Many wounded... its just a grim place here. *sigh* I am on the verge of resigning like Zero, I will fight this battle on my own terms."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "I...I don't know what really to think anymore."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "No one does.. we are all in a grave state of confusion. So you aren't alone."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "That helps. It helps alot."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "All we can do is wait Twila.. the road remains uncertain from here on out, but despite the battle that was won. Sigma will be back."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "Yes...I know. I...overheard. *softly* Magma, what's it going to take to expose this Maverick plot?"

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Faith and trust."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "Same thing General said...and King Dragon before he died. It's hard holding on..."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "I..somehow figured you would..."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Magma Dragoon: "God be with you, Magma..."

Magma Dragoon sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Those were General's last words to me.. God be with you also Twila.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Air Wraith: "Thank you for your kindness."

Air Wraith sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Ahh, it was nothing. Don't worry about it"

================================Rock's Quarters================================

Rock's Quarters is a well done mix of official and casual, the walls are plain white, in the small spots where you can actually -see- the walls. Awards, certificates, pictures, and posters adorn the walls, all in a mesh of Rock the hero and Rock the fun loving guy. In the corner lies his desk, next to it, a small wastepaper basket. His bed is quite large, and lies in the center of the room against the far wall. The headboard serves as a shelf as well, and on them, several pictures and small toys and models. A nightstand sits next to his bed; on it is a picture of Twila Peterson, his ex-fiancé, in the green dress he'd given her as an early birthday gift; tied to the corner of the picture is a blue ribbon, a gift from Twila's pet cabbit, Kyo-Ohki. An entertainment center sits opposite the bed, containing a television (or at least the equivalent of which in this day and age) as well as some game systems and a stereo. A bookshelf takes up nearly all of the free wall, showing Rock's secret love of reading, as well as his love for toys and models, which occupy some of the shelves as well. A large window lies above the bed, allowing light to shine down upon it during the day, and giving him a good look at the night sky after hours. A door leading to the bathroom is located next to the bed opposite the desk, which is also where his closet is located. All in all, a fine meshing of Rock's personality, giving off the same cheerful aura that he himself does.

===============================================================================

With a sudden opening something of the air vent right by the closet, little Kyo scrambles out and lands on the carpet...accidentally knocking back or other as she does...

Rock blinks, looking up from the computer as Kyo tumbles into his room. Rush sits in the corner, curled up, half asleep. And Rock stands, giving the little mech-animal a half-hearted smile, and reaching down to scoop her up. "At least I know YOU don't hate me..." he says to her, laying down on his bed. Rush hops up there as well, woofing happily at Kyo.

Kyo-Ohki wiggles her little tail in return, letting her ears perk as she's scooped up. "Marf! Marf!" she cries gleefully, then tries to imitate what may pass for Rush's panting.

Rock sniffles slightly, using his free hand to wipe away tears as he holds the little cabbit; half-smiling as she imitates a bark, Rush nosing at her. Rock scritches behind her ears, heaving a heavy sigh. "Now if only your master didn't hate me..."

Kyo-Ohki paws slightly towards Rush as if some type of game....then glances towards Rock, cocking her head to the left and letting one ear fall. "Mip?"

Rush licks the little cabbit, then curls up and begins to try to snooze. Rock lifts Kyo up and kisses her on top of the head, still scritching her. "And I'm not even sure if I don't hate me..."

Kyo-Ohki snugs in return...having little or no idea what Rock speaks of. But at least picks up on his distress. For the moment she forgets about trying to steal some of Rush's water from his dish (hey, he's going to sleep right) and licks the bottem of his chin, uttering one word. "Mama!"

Rock 's face drops from the semi-smile from seeing the little cabbit, to a full frown. "Sh... she's not coming back for a while, Kyo..." He hugs the cabbit to his chest, scritching her sides gently.

While it's certain that Kyo can't understand many things...some things...perhaps she can pick up more so than others. "Meimei Mama?" she sniffles. Mama would make his tears go away..wouldn't she?

Rock cuddles the little mechanimal. "But I'm... off duty. I quit, so I'll take care of you until she comes back, Kyo." A tear drops onto his shirt, inches from Kyo.

Kyo-Ohki blinks and goes to lick up the fallen tear...then places her paws on his chin to lick his cheek. "Mew?" she asks timidly.

Rock looks to Kyo with lackluster blue eyes. "I wish you could talk, sometimes," he murmurs, turning his head to kiss Kyo on the cheek. "But at least telling you my problems, like I do Rush... it's good for the soul. If I even have a soul anymore." He sighs heavily, defeatedly. "I killed Repliforce troops. I almost killed General...

Kyo-Ohki says, "Both of Kyo's ears have fallen now to rest quietly at her sides. She blinks a few times...not understanding. How could she? "Mew? Marf mip mip?" she asks.

Rock chuckles softly, and stands up, carrying the little cabbit over to a drawer. He opens it... and pulls out a container of cookies. "But I suppose I shouldn't tell you these things. It's not like you can understand." He sets Kyo down on the desk, and sits down in his chair and pops them open... offering one of the cookies, with M&Ms in them, to the cabbit.

Kyo-Ohki playfully tugs on it...as if some type if game...then giggles before nibbling on the treat. "Meeeew."

Rock smiles, and sets the cookie down so Kyo can eat it. "Mmmf. But at least, letting these things out won't make me brood over them and turn into Blues..."

Kyo-Ohki looks up between chomps...letting little peices of crumbs mix with her furr or fall the the table. She then asks, "Meimei?" and nudges his chest slightly.

Rock reaches out to scritch Kyo's head. "Stay right here." And he leaves the room... returning in a few moments with some milk. A glass for him, and a saucer for the cabbit. He sets it down next to the cookie, and takes a long drink.

Kyo-Ohki inwardly WOOHOOs! and pounces almost immediately at the small dish rather happily and starts licking it up greedily... "Meeeeeeeeeewpurrrrrrrrrrr..."

Rock smiles softly, taking a drink of his own milk. "Such a cutey." He scritches. "You're a great de-stresser."

Kyo-Ohki looks up after having a good fill...then burps rather noisily before hoping up to his shoulder...then right into his hair. She pauses and then looks down into his eyes...letting her ears droop back down in front of them. Peek-a-boo! "Mip!"

Rock laughs softly at the cabbit's antics, smiling. The cabbit has taken away his cares, at least for now; he blows out a breath, blowing her ears out of his eyes. "Peek-a-boo. I see you."

Kyo-Ohki gaks and resteadies herself on her new perch...only to move her ears in front of his eyes again. "Marf marf?" she asks...then licks at his scalp gently.

Rock smiles softly, and reaches up, lifting Kyo from his head... lowering her to his lap to stroke her back. "At least you're not quitting on me."

Kyo wouldn't do that...Rock has too much chocolate! Well, that's not the real reason. Other then the Repliforce scientists Rock was among the first people she had met. Thus, she thinks of him rather highly...more like family like Rick is. Oddly enough...that may be one of the reasons Kyo wasn't taken by Twila. Berhaps to leave a piece of herself behind? At any rate...Kyo stands herself on her hind legs and rests herself there...letting out a contented sigh...snuggling. "Mei mama..." she purrs...then pats at Rock's hands playfully.

Rock pokes at the little cabbit as she bats at his hands, shaking his head. "I... could take you to Twila, if you wanted, Kyo. You keep asking for her..."

Kyo-Ohki sits up straight at that. "Marf? Marf! Marf!" Then giggles.

Rock smiles a little, lifting Kyo up into his arms then and standing. "We'll go to her, then."

Rock sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "... Where might you be? Kyo is, um... asking about you."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Rock: "*quietly* Rock...keep her there for right now ok?" Take...care of her for me?"

Rock sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I... a... alright. *click of frequency disconnection*"

Rock frowns a little, and strokes Kyo's headfur. "I guess we're NOT going to see Twila... so I'm taking care of you for now." He lifts Kyo and makes his way to the bed, setting her down on it. He changes into his pajamas then... and slips into the bed, picking Kyo up and putting her on his chest.

Kyo-Ohki sniffles in response and doesn't protest much when she's taken. When she's laid down with him she crawls up to his neck, placing her paws there and rests his chin on his...

Rock kisses Kyo's nose. "So you'll sleep in here. I'll get your dish and your squeaky carrot." He half-smiles at her. "And you can play with Rush and Beat."

Kyo-Ohki squeals in delight...not knowing what it is he just said. However, she does offer a tiny yawn and scoots herself back under the covers. With a "coo" she rests her head on his chest...and curls up affectionatly.

Rock curls up with Kyo in his bed, and begins to slip off to sleep. "Love you, Kyo..."

Kyo-Ohki murmers a quiet "meowph" in response, drifting off as well. Just like that.

<And at Able Robotics...>

There is one guard present at the front...a reploid known as Chain... (no, not the Hunter) and remains where he is...distraught over the night's events but tries not to let it show.

Hoverbike <Scimitar> winds it's way towards the complex along a by now familiar route to it's pilot. Rick's travelled it enough times by now, that's for sure. Even as he reaches the front gate, he only slows down long enough to pull out his id and show it. Meredith saw fit to give him a permanent pass to the grounds...and he'd actually gotten to be a semi-familiar face over time too for that matter.

Chain looks at the ID of course an nods politely towards the young man. "Greetings, Mr. Morgan. You're cleared. However, I believe Ms. Ables is retired for the evening."

Hoverbike <Scimitar> gives a nod at that, as he puts the card back in his jacket pocket once more. "It's all right, I don't want to disturb her. There's someone else I can see while I'm here though..." he says, and with that, he guns the bike once more, and heads further into the complex, towards the parking lot, pulling up loosely to a space and then hopping off, glancing about himself. Sheesh...where's he going to start now?

Chain nods in response again, letting him on through. No, he doesn't know, and he doesn't ask. But...he does keep watch."

Rick Morgan appears to think for the longest moment. He knows Meredith does live in the bottom part of the complex...but not exactly the location, as he hasn't seen that part just yet. So for the moment, he gives a sigh and takes out his scanner, setting it to follow Hunter signals for the moment. Heck, other than himself there's supposed to be only one other Hunter present really...

Indeed, there are some radio signals that happen to be transpiring at this time, although there were a little more eariler...

If traced...the signals would lead near where Mary's own rooms are located.

Rick Morgan decides that an announced arrival would be in order, rather than wandering about aimlessly in search of where it is that leads downwards for that matter. He's used to arriving and going straight to Meredith's office after all.

As he unclips his radio, he turns to glance back at the Reploid, before shaking his head slowly. "Thanks but it's allright. I was about to check for myself..."

Rick Morgan sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Twila? You up and about? I'm on the ground level of the complex, and I'm reading traffic from your radio. So I'm guessing you're awake..."

Chain merely nods and returns to his post.

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Rick Morgan: "Rick? Rick, yes. I'm awake. I--I'll be right down..."

Rick Morgan sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Just look for the hoverbike. The parking lot's kind of empty right now anyway."

You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Rick Morgan: "I...I noticed that when I came in..."

Not much later Twila is seen entering the appointed area. By now she's removed her gear as well as unbound her her auburn looks, letting them flow free. But honestly? She looks terrible as well as heartbroken...as well as seeming to have aged a bit since a few hours ago. Her eyes also look red and slightly puffy. She pauses as she sees her brother...as if caught in a grip of whriling emotions. "Rick?"

Rick Morgan sighs quietly, lowering his radio once more, and easing back against the hoverbike behind him, electing to lean against it for the moment, grateful for the support for that matter. It's only now he realizes he hasn't slept much in the past day...even last night having been a disaster for sleep. And tonight it looks like he's not going to be getting any at all...what with the condition of the ride armors and all. And the fact that the very armor he built was used to rip into the Repliforcers hasn't sat well for that matter. But what's done is done...and in the past at the moment anyway.

He dosen't have long to wait, before Twila arrives, and he slowly pushes off from the hoverbike, almost painfully for that matter as well, as if the little aches and pains that make up a battle wearied body are finally speaking once more. Still, he stands straight then, away from the craft, as he gives a slow nod in return. "I couldn't do it anymore...."

One slow step after another Twila makes her way to him until she's standing right in front of him. "I'm sorry, Rick," she tells him shakily. "After I heard of the allied assualt over the radio I couldn't go back to base. I still don't know what I'm going to do now." After all...she can't stay here forever. That just...wouldn't be proper...

"In light of all that's been happening Twila..." Rick says quietly, shifting his gaze towards the ground for those few moments. "I wouldn't worry about how it will reflect on you for that matter. Rock resigned not too long afterwards, and when I left the base to come here there was a continuous list of resignations still coming for that matter."

Twila Peterson appears...shocked. "Rock....resigned?" she repeats after him...as if that would make more sense to her if she had done so aloud.

Rick Morgan gives a slow nod at that. "Yeah..." he responds quietly, remaining suprisingly neutral about the whole deal for the moment. Perhaps he dosen't disagree with the decision in some ways...or perhaps it's related to something else. He dosen't make further comment however as he continues. "As well as a fair number of others for that matter Twila. Soon there's going to be barely anyone left at the rate it's going."

Twila painfully closes her eyes, balling her hands into fists. This would be exactly what they want isn't it? They seem to be getting that alot lately. "If some things don't change...what's going to happen?" she asks, not really seeking a response. She already knows the answer. She lifts her chin back, gazing towards Rick's features. "What...will you do now?"

Rick Morgan gives a long sigh, as if afraid to answer her at first...but after a long moment, he gives a shrug. "I'll go back..." he says quietly. "I told the others I wouldn't attack Repliforce...and I wouldn't work with Mavericks. I know Sigma will turn on us...and when he does, we'll have to fight him. We have no choice...someone's going to have to."

The young woman nods towards him, acknowledging. After all, not really her place to tell him how to go about this because frankly. Twila's unsure as well. She just knows for her that...she can't.

"I...understand, radio if and/or when you ever need me or if I'm just needed? My gear is here in the room I'm staying in. My personal bike is here also."

Rick Morgan nods again at that, setting his hands in his pockets then. "I will Twila...I promise." He says quietly. After a long moment, he then glances up once more. "I...I was hoping to catch Mary too but, I know she's been having a rough time, and I don't want to wake her. When you see her...let her know I stopped by? I'll try to get in to see her, I promise. Hopefully tomorrow..." If the world dosen't end before then of course. He dosen't add that part...but the cold hard reality does hover overhead if Sigma were to make his move. In all liklihood...they -won't- be strong enough to fight back the Mavericks.

And they tend not to take prisoners...especially human ones.

He's right, it doesn't have to be added. Twila...already knows. "I'll...let her know..." she promises as well. She stands there for a few moments in complete silence...well knowing that this will all end...one way or another. However, Regardless of the outcome, things may never be the same again. But then again, are they ever? Allowing this thought to settle she reaches out and snakes her arms around her brother's middle...holding him tight. At present, she doesn't say anything more for now.

Rick Morgan raises his arms up to tightly squeeze her in return, his head tilting to the side just enough to press his cheek to the top of her crown. "I'll come back, Twila..." he says quietly. "I promise. We've survived worse...it's not gonna end just here...I know it." he whispers quietly.
