Medical Bay <Hunter HQ>
Protoman peers at his brother... staring in disbelief. "I suggest you shut your mouth brother, before you find my buster in it." Protoman move back to leaning against the wall. .oO(Moody, feh.)Oo.
Twila Peterson enters into the bay after having gotten cleaned up as well as small bite to eat. Helps to od so after sleeping a night in one's clothes.
Twila Peterson enters into the bay after having gotten cleaned up as well as small bite to eat. Helps to do so after sleeping a night in one's clothes. However, she gives pause when she overhears the two brothers going at it...again. Why is she so surprised by it? "Uh...I woalk in on something?"
Sarah Storm's radio crackles softly announcing asilent message to the youngest strider. The joyous and happy look of carefree youth turns into an angered scowl. Her eyes narrow with hate as she gazes at her radio. Her hand instinctly reaches for her storm cipher.
Rock looks to Proto, eyeing him. "Hey, just bring it, Big Brother... Less talk more Plasma..." Rock smirks to Proto. Then Rock looks to the good as Twila enters. Rock grins and waves. "Nah, Just trying to needle my brother here into actualy smiling..."
Rock blinks, recieving a radio transmission from a very familiar source... Rock gives a soft smile. "Well well..." Rock pauses... returning the transmission in kind.
Twila Peterson turns a concerned glance towards Sarah, noticing her changed demeaner. "Well, as long as no one tears up anything. You know how Light feels about roughousing." She ofefrs a small shrug and turns back to Sarah. "You...alright?"
Protoman becomes Icy cold, extending his right hand towards Rock as it forms into the barrel of a buster. "Don't tempt be, -brother-, you might not like what happens." His body doesn't move at all, and even the yellow scarf rests in place on his back with out a flutter.
Rock looks to Proto then, grinning. "Hey, Proto... Bro... It's called Teasing. Lighten up!" Rock grins. "And lets do it then... I Challenge you!" Rock rises, pointing at Proto. "Come on, Big Brother. We can go to the Training Room later, and we can dance."
Rock /blinks/... noting the concern on Twila's face then... looking to Sarah. "... Sarah? What's wrong?" Rock then pauses... recieving another transmission from a very impressive source. Rock pauses again to reply.
Sarah Storm turns to Twila and nods. The only thing she whispers is "Red Dragon"
Twila Peterson furrows her brow. She tosses a glance towards Blues, filing away what she already knows...Blues isn't the teasing type. After turning her attantion back to Sarah she asks, "What are they saying?"
Proto remains where he is, the Buster not moving an inch, his mouth locked into a snarl. "You think this is some game, Rock? You think bringing a SPY into a Military Base is a game? Let's give her Brownies? Well guess what, Rock... it's not a game... this is the real deal, and the sooner you learn that... the better." His Buster beings charging up before being fired off towards the ground at Rock's feat. "Until you learn that, I'm out of here."
Twila Peterson personally wonders just how Blues would know if Sarah's a spy. But then...probably on the impression better to be prepared for the possibility if not. "Sounds normal for villians," she murmers. She then tosses a glance back towards the android, only to step closer towards Sarah's bedside...while eyeing Protoman. When he arptly leaves she turns towards Rock, "Like I said earlier...he's...uptight."
X looks over to Proto Man... his face hardening as he rises. Beat leaps from Rock's shoulder, hovering to the side. Rush looks up to Sarah and Twila with concern in his canine features. X pauses for only a moment, and with a blue flash... his body is covered in his blue, light blue, and white armor. The armor of Mega Man. Rock walks foward towards Blues, putting himself fight in front of the Buster barrel... steping over the hole made by Blues' weapon. This is Commander X now... not Rock. "Brother. I know it isnt a game. I know how serious this is. I am fighting against what threaten..." Rock pauses... then sighs as his brother vanishes. He shakes his head, before looking to Twila and Sarah. "What's going on? And yes... he is... I will see just what is wrong with him." Rock... X... sighs... then he looks to Sarah. "A Red Dragon is contacting you?"
Twila Peterson hmmms. "Normal 'bad guy tries to get under good guy's skin?"
Sarah Storm frowns at Blues as he leaves. She places down her cipher and hangs her head. "I am sorry. I shouldn't have come here. I didn't mean to bring trouble here." She nods silently.
Twila Peterson asks, "I'm curious. How was it that Skull Man was the one who brought you here? I know you were...helping him shop a few days ago. But still..." Ok...that sounds...unique if anything.
Rock nods slowly to Twila... then Rock looks to Sarah, his
face immediatly softening as he kneels before her, reaching up to
place a hand on her arm. "Sarah... It isnt your fault. My
brother is often like this... he will return eventualy... he just
never was a team player... and needs to understand some
things." Rock sighs. "Dont worry about it. You havnt
caused any trouble here. Lay back down. Rest. I will have Rick
come in and keep you company... you still arnt well enough yet.
Besides... if a Red Dragon is trying to get under your skin...
she may be trying to provoke you into doing something rash...
dont worry. You will be safe here."
Zero steps into the medbay, seeing as how the rest of the labs
seems deserted and looks about, fixating on Sarah for a moment
before shooting a look at Rock and shaking his head. He walks
over to an empty table and hops up on it, and leans back on his
hands after pulling his helmet off and letting his hair fall down
behind him, "So what are you kids up to tonight, hrm?"
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Don't lie to the girl, Rock. You
know I'm just as upset as Protoman apparently is about that girl
being here. Although, unlike some moody angst ridden scarf
wearing morons, I don't run to cry in my secret underground lair
about it.'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: '... Girl?'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'No, you've got that nice uptown
apartment, Ponytail.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'The Blue Strider Sarah,
Sem.'.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'I know, Zero. It is still
my call. And yes, Seminole. We have a guest staying with us while
she gets better. A Blue Strider. Her name is Sarah and she is in
the Medical Bay untill she gets better.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Always gotta pass the buck off
whenever someone brings it to you.'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'Ah, I see.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'You're one to complain about
people leaving, Zero.'.
Twila Peterson swings her hands behind her back and leans against a nearby bedframe. Personally, the way Sarah's been acting had been a heck of alot more tamer that Blues or Zero...at least by her thinking.
Sarah Storm shrugs to Twila. "I have no idea why Skull Man would have cared to help me last night. All he told me that i was suppose to be living or something like that. He also told me that he wish I was a reploid so he could rip my head off."
Rock looks up, pausing as he notes Zero's arrival. "Hey Zero. And not much for now... but We have some important business to attend to." Rock then looks to Sarah, noding slowly. "... That sounds like Skull Man to me... he is... strange... Wily made him into something very disturbing."
Zero snorts, "Like that's any different than any other creations of Wily's..." he then trails off, remembering something, and facepalming, "Open mouth, insert foot."
Rock chuckles at Zero's words... "Hey... We both were partialy made by him, Z. Dont worry about it..." Rock shakes his head, looking back to Sarah.
Twila Peterson rolls her eyes, then stops before anyone can see her....hopefully. The tose particular on chan can really get...juvinile to say the least She draws in a. He's done it several times." She offers a small shrug, flashes Zero a glance but, still witholds comment, before askign Sarah, "Needing anything for the moment? You hungry?"
(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'Twila, I just got a
transmission from General. He would like me and you to attend a
meeting at Repliforce HQ about this new 'law' that was passed.
Would you like to come, It's ok if you might be to busy around
here.'.
(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Everything seems like
it should be ok here. When are we supposed to be there?'.
(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'Shortly. We have a little
bit more time, however.'.
Sarah Storm has almost forgotten her hunger with playing with Rush and Beat. "Actually I am sorta." She waves towards Zero and smiles. "Hey Zero, welcome back?"
Zero looks over at Sarah and gives her 'the nod' and smirks, "Hey, dollface." He yawns as he leans back further, striking another unintential pose. Darn it hurts to look this good.
Twila Peterson takes a glance around her, seeing everything seems to be well enough. "Answer enough. There's some homemade chicken soup here that might help," she offers while getting the dish and warming it up. While it's heating she answers her radio.
Sarah Storm's eyes widen with excitement. "MMm. That sounds good."
(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Oook...um...don't need to dress up or anything do I? Hunter Uniform or...um...jeans?'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Rock, if she's not out of here by
tonight, I'm gonna do it myself.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'And you don't want me to do that.
Their just as interested in us, as we are of them. And lord knows
what she's capable of. This little cutesy act is all a front.'.
Rock nods, grinning and rising. "With luck, your brother will be here soon." Rock looks to Zero, grining. "Think you can hold the ship for me here for a bit, Zero? I was just contacted by General... He needs me to go to the Repliforce HQ to sit in at a meeting..." Rock shakes his head... then he looks
Twila Peterson smiles in response and brings out the newly cooked dish with some oven mitts. She brings it over and sets it on the bedtray and removes the lid. Remembering a spoon and a glass of juice she guestures. "May want to wait a few moments so it won't burn your tongue."
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Atleast someone has #$@$ing
half a clue around here.'.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'Her brother will be coming
by tonight, Zero. And we will see. Who says that is a bad thing?
We could use some more allies in this war.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Rock... buddy.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Your my best friend and all..'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'I tend to agree, Kain
has said that beyond our work together against the Mew virus,
they can't trust us, and we can't trust them.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'So don't take this the wrong way...'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'But yer acting like a moron, and
letting your goody two shoes mentality cloud your better
judgement.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'If her brother is coming tonight,
then we're meeting him outside.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'I don't want any more of them in
here.'.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: '*a sigh* All right, Zero.
We will see what happens, all right? I understand how you all can
feel that way. I will make sure she is taken care of and
meet with her brother.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: '.oO(No will to stand up against
Zero... No Common Sense... how did he become a hero again?)Oo.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'As is, I'm staying here to keep an
eye on her.'.
(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'I love those little
family talks.'.
(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'Indeed... *sighs* And I am
going in my armor, Twila... Whatever you like. Perhaps it might
be best for the Hunter Uniform.'.
Seminole walks into the medbay casually, arching an eyebrow at the number of people here. It's not usually this crowded, at least not with the uninjured. Sem shrugs to himself, glancing between the various Hunters and single guest while making his way toward one of the storage closets.
Sarah Storm glances down at the food and keeps herself from just scarfing down the soup. Sure she is hungry but it wouldn't look so good if she didn't sure some manners around some cute guys. Sure they are out of her league but that doesn't stop her from looking. She gives a quick nod to Rock as he leaves. "Bye Rock!" She waves.
Twila Peterson nods towards Rock instead of using her radio. "I'll meet you upstairs then." She pauses and comments towards Sarah, "Anyway, enjoy the soup." As she begins towards the door she tosses Zero and the newly arrived Seminole a wave. "Um...later guys."
Rock looks up, noting Seminole's arrival. "Heya Sem. If some one named Derek arrives at the Labs and calls in, tell him that I will be returning shortly and meeting with him." Rock then looks to Zero... then he looks back to Sarah. "Just rest here a while more... I have some offical business to take care of." Rock then looks back to the others... noding. "Make sure she is all right and safe here, Zero. She is a guest, and a friend... so treat her like one." Rock then nods to Twila, walking for the door himself. "All right Twila."
Rock looks back to Rush and Beat. "Stay here, you two... make sure Dr. Light and Sarah are safe." The Ruby Rover and the Blue Bird of Kicking Aft nod to their master and friend, Beat flaping over to perch above Sarah's bed and Rush slowly moving to lay down by the dozing Dr. Light.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'Do that, Zero. I have to
go meet with General. As for Sarah, she isnt to be harmed,
removed, or bothered, Got me? *Rock speaks not as Rock... but as
Commander X* The situation is my call, Zero. I will handle it'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Whatever.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Gonna give her some more
brownies?'.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'And you don't devour every
last brownie that Roll makes yourself, Blues?'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Nope.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Yeah, you are getting a tad chubby
over there, lunchbox.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Unlike you, Ponytail, I don't
have to watch my girlish figure.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'And that's why you live alone with a
dog.'
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'Liars... both of you. And
if you don't like Roll giving away some Brownies... talk to
her... she will put you /both/ straight.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Better than with the nutballs
you call girlfriends.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Yeah, so Iris was a tad off, I'll
give you that, but at least Dischord can make short order of a
backwoods hackjob like you.'.
<After the change Twila waits in the Command Center...>
Twila Peterson:
Before you is a young woman appearing to be within her late
teenage years. Measured just over five feet in height. Stylish
shoulder length, curlish locks of auburn carress her delicate
features while the back is woven within a french braid. But
there's something about the eyes, her blueish-green orbs, what
some refer to as the "windows of the soul".
Being a Maverick Hunter, when the occasion deems it, she can be
found within her uniform. Presently she wears a long-sleeved
dress shirt, navy tunic (complete with a gold plate bearing the
name "Peterson" on the upper left chest pocket), and
navy slacks. The outfit is completed by a pair of blue ankle
length boots.
Twila Peterson facepalms openly on the offical Hunter broadband. If any Master or maverik hackers ever break the frequency, and it has happened before, they would be prone to think them nuts. And for them...that's bad.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: '*cough*'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'Okay kids, let's try to
keep all the insults off the Hunter broadband. I'm sure the
Mavericks will be having a hearty laugh over this when they crack
the frequency because of all this chatter.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Where has little miss demented
been, anyway?'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Wah wah wah, they probably hacked the
channel 5 months ago, Seminole. Considering how shoddy our
security is. Remind me to slap Feedback around later and have him
start doing his job instead of sleeping all day.'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'You're not helping now
either, Zero.'.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'A good idea, Seminole. You
heard the man, Zero, Blues. Cut the chatter. Now.'.
Twila Peterson blinks and eyerolls...thinking much the same thing as Seminole was. She makes suer her uniform is on well enough...especially since this her first real time wearing it other than trying it on for size.
Twila Peterson mumbles. "I babysat toddlers who acted older...sheesh."
Rock steps out of the Grav Lift, shaking his head and walking to Twila's side. Rock eyes her up and down, smiling. "Hey... They aren't your brothers..."
Twila Peterson lays a hand on the reploid's armored shoulder. "And for that, I weep," she quips sarcastically with a wry smirk. She draws back her hand and looks towards the teleport chamber. "So...ready?"
Rock looks to Twila, smiling softly down to her... "Yeah... Let's go. We will meet an escort out front." Rock motions and together they head for the Teleportation tube
<Soon...>
Teleportation Area--New York
Twila Peterson hmmms as they rematerialize. "By the way, when you have time after this...I should probably tell you of the Strider known as Derek."
Rock appears from the Teleports with Twila, smiling then he walks forward. "Let's hurry." Rock swiftly, and with a wink, scoups her up into his arms, igniting his dash jets. Rock shrugs then, speaking to her. "Don't worry, Twila."
Twila Peterson squeals as she's picked up and holds tight. "Know how to sweep someone of their feet..."
<Soon...when inside the Repliforce Headquarters and escorted to a chamber...>
War Room - RHQ
This is the room where all the strategies and plans for war are
made and finalized. This room is extremely massive, allowing room
for a great number of Repliforce officers and operatives to be in
here at the same time. On the floor is a large map pf the world,
with the cities and important locations mapped out over the
countries of the world. There are also plenty of small, hidden
cameras and microphones, capable of broadcasting the planning
done in here to the monitors stationed all over RHQ should the
need arise. In the walls and ceiling are numerous pointing and
display devices, along with an advanced holographic system,
capable of running war and battle scenarios in high detail when
it is turned on. However, when the War Room sits idle, the
holographic display shows a visual of the galaxy, slowly rotating
around the sun located in the center.
The Doors to the War Room open, and slowly from them strides a confidant figure in the forefront. He is of medium height, his blue, light blue, and white armor glinting in the light. Light sparkles off the gem inset into the forefront of his helm as he looks about the room with deep sapphire eyes. His face is firm, set, and all business... This is not Rock... but X. Commander X.
"Indeed, Sentinel, indeed ... You struck the chord that I so desired. All other opinions are respected as well, especially your own, King Dragon," replies the General with that same powerful voice. He looks away from the bill and to those gathered, continuing, "While this may seem a grand victory for Sigma and his Coalition for Reploid Freedom, there stands one simple flaw. The United Nations prohibits slaughter, as the Mavericks are so steadfast in doing. One can only wonder what they shall do now if they, in some manner, had a hand in this bill being passed. If they do not obey the laws, then nothing changes, yet.. If they do, then it may very well be that we can do nothing concerning their presence at any given moment."
Casting his gaze toward the ceiling briefly, the General releases another sigh of expressed thought. Once the pair enters, however, the action draws his attention very quickly. He smiles, despite the black guard, and gracefully shifts into a respectful salute, "Hunter X, so desired to be addressed as Rock, and Twila Peterson. Welcome to the Repliforce Headquarters of New York. It is, truly, a pleasure to have both of you with us. I pray both of you are well and, please, do make yourselves comfortable." He pauses to relax his stance and refold his arms, allowing his words to sink in before continuing, "For the sake of relevancy, our current discussion centers around the bill recently passed by the United Nations. Do you know of it?"
Colonel turns his head from where he stands, a holographic sphere of the earth between the executive officer and the true commander of the Repliforce. His own firm gaze is delivered towards the two that enter, and it is not lessened any due to /who/ they are. This is business, after all, and his player is still eating, so this pose is short.
(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'Dont worry, Twila. It will be all right. They will probably only want your opinion as well on the matter, as sometimes, robots cant think exactly like humans... and can use the human take on the subject'.
Sentinel goes silent once more as General speaks, eyes still closed, though he opens them briefly, turning to the new arrivals. Indeed, business is business, but maintaining good relations is business as well. He offers a quick wave to Rock and Twila, hoping he won't get beam-sabred /too/ hard for it, and turns back to General now.
Cryogen Bison nods to Rock and Twila. He then looks at General and nods, his mind running through various scenarios, probable causes and effects, relationships between the laws stated in the document and current ones, and of course, South Africa...He considers it all and then goes back to working the items out. There are numerous possibilities, but only one outcome...And it is that outcome which he must determine...The one which his squad must collect evidence for.
Twila Peterson only personally knows what was stated over the news networks as well as...some of the of the aftermath spoken of over the global broadband. She's never done well in speaking up in any of the Maverick Hunter meetings....and it probably won't change now. However, since Rok is the commander, she does defer to him...wondering if he's done all his "cathing up" as of yet since he had gotten back.
X approaches the forefront, giving the massive golden Colossus a smart salute, his snow white hand raising to his forehead and his body going to attention. X puzzles out the first words of General... nodding inwardly. Very disturbing prospect. X too is all Business, giving the Colonel a sight not before responding in his firm, strong voice. "Thank you, General. I am honored to be here, as is Hunter Peterson. And yes, we are well, and hope everyone here is as well." X pauses then, listening to the last question and nods. "I have heard the announcement and the words of Sigma on it, General. And I believe I am as concerned as all of you here about it."
Storm Owl swivels his head toward the newcomers. He waits to see what happens. He begins to twitch nervously again as he realizes he never gave his opinion when it was asked.
New to these type of meetings, all Twila can offer is a small nod in agreement and probably won't be answering much unless asked anything directly. Despite it all, she still has a healthy dose of shyness left. However, she knows enough to follow X, staying only a few paces behind him.
Colonel speaks, for the first time, in truth, for this entire meeting. Usually he's able to let the General do the talking, but he decides to take a task off of the shoulders of his old friend. "Please, Commander X, Miss Peterson, be seated. There's no need for you to stand at attention, so please be at your ease." He uncrosses one of his arms, waving them towards one of the several vacant seats.
General thinks to himself as Rock responds, 'At least they know ... That will aid in this cause greatly.' "Then speak, Hunter Commander. What is your opinion of this Bill? Ms. Peterson, if you could likewise do so." He looks to both of them intently, but seems very, very calm despite the situations. The bill, South Africa and all the like loom over him like a hawk ready to swoop down upon its prey. Several factions staring at one another, waiting for one of them to blink.
The General has yet to do so. Even now his gaze sweeps back across those present, especially the quiet ones, and finally upon the Bison, "As they choose their words, Cryogen, I have a task for you. As this seems to be your forte in many ways, if possible, do discover the roots and origins of this bill. I do not doubt the United Nations, but something seems quite odd about this entire resolution. Save for the Mavericks, all other Reploids are considered like unto the Humans." He shakes his head slowly, returning focus to Rock and Twila.
Sentinel continues to listen in silence. He /wants/ to speak up at General's words, but it looks like he's finally starting to calm himself, agitation and anger no longer visible on his expression. He merely shifts in his chair a little...
Cryogen Bison nods to General, "Sir, yes sir." .oO(Why didn't I think of that?)Oo. He shrugs and then glances at Sentinel...He quirks an optic ridge at his behavior and folds his arms over his chest, considering him for several moments.
Storm Owl decided the time has come to speak. He thrusts nervousness aside, swivels his head toward General, and says, "Sir, I would like to belatedly offer my opinion on the bill."
General shifts, "Then do so, Storm Owl."
Twila Peterson follows Rock's lead and seats herself within the
chair. Since Rock was asked of first, she'll wait until he
responds. However, since she was asked to give her own views
she'll do just that. General is right...the bill seems as if it
was somehow forced. Most seemed alright. But the one portion of
it reeks to the high heavens.
Patriot crosses his arms and sits quietly, keeping his yap shut like a good little soldier.
Commander X nods to the Colonel, looking to Twila and then he walks slowly over to the table, pulling out a chair for her before taking his own seat. X then looks to the Golden Titan himself, one being he has always admired and respected... X nodding as he listens to General's words... nodding slowly. He reaches up, stroking his chin and the white throatguard that extends under it with one snow-white hand. "My Opinion of this bill is that it truly wasn't necessary. I am not sure how it was passed... or even why... but judging from the words of Sigma himself over the Broadband... he had something to contribute in it's passing. It is possibly some ploy of his... probably to take our attentions off of South Africa or tie our hands so we cant stop what has been done." X sighs softly... "I also have a matter of great sadness to report... perhaps to show some more light into the situation."
Twila Peterson follows Rock's lead and seats herself within the chair. Since Rock was asked of first, she'll wait until he responds. However, since she was asked to give her own views she'll do just that. General is right...the bill seems as if it was somehow forced. Most seemed alright. But the one portion of it reeks to the high heavens. She remains silent, then adds, "There's...also the issue of why the Mavericks were automatically pardoned of whatever crimes they had committed."
General pages: You just shocked the big guy. :D
Storm Owl says, "I apologize for waiting so long to voice my opinion, but I had to properly think through matters. After all, preparation is a must in all things. Speaking of which, I feel that this bill was passed too hastily, without adequate preparation. As my fellow soldiers have pointed out, It is too full of loop-holes and potential to be taken advantage of. The UN should have spent more time on it. After all, rushing into anything leads to disaster."
General nods toward Storm Owl and begins to respond to both his and X's comments, but Twila's words reach him just as quickly as his thoughts process. He pauses, immense gaze cutting through the air as it swings to face the human girl. He seems quite shocked, eyes even widening some before reducing to their normal size. He speaks slowly, voice still remarkably calm, but very concerned, "Ms. Peterson ... Do repeat your words one more time."
Sentinel now, does have something to say. Only...not aloud. He silently sends a message to Colonel and General via direct radio. It may be a bit of a breach of meeting protocol, but perhaps he has a reason...
Cryogen Bison turns to Twila, steelping his fingers. His optics narrow for a split second, then he nods slowly...Several pieces slipping into place. He considers things and quickly does a check of his squad...o0(Who's currently on duty?)Oo.
Colonel turns slightly as the transmission comes through to gaze up at the General for a moment.
Twila sits herself up straighter. "Well...if it's to be believed from what Sigma and some other Mavericks stated over the global broadband last night, they stated they were pardoned of their crimes."
X looks to Twila... blinking... then X nods. He didn't read the whole document completely... X's eyes narrowing as his mind races at the implications. X clenches one snow-white hand into a fist... there is one crime he /wont/ pardon. The Mavericks have done a great deal of evil... but this is the worst of all. X looks to Twila... nodding encouragingly
General frowns slowly - very slowly indeed, his expression reflecting the movement. He looks over at Colonel and, with eyes filling greatly with worry, he states, "You are all dismissed. Rock, Twila Peterson, Cryogen and Sentinel ... Remain with Colonel and I. I wish to know all that can possibly be. To the rest of you, you shall be informed if necessary." The room beginning to quake, General shifts from his position to move toward the Command Chamber. He pauses only to look at those he asked to remain, an indication to follow, and resumes his fairly calm trek.
If nothing else, at least the General isn't breaking into a panic by a long, long shot.
X looks up as General speaks... then nods, rising slowly, offering a hand to Twila as he does so. He doesn't comment for now... looking to Cryogen Bison and Sentinel with a nod for each. X then looks to the General worried himself. This /has/ to be a trick. There is no way the Sec Gen would pass such a law. X looks to Twila, reassuringly, before slowly moving to follow the massive Golden Titan.
Dragon bows his head politely to everyone as he stands back up on all four of his large heavy talons. "Good night to you all. May you find luck with what you endeavor tonight." He says, bowing deeply before turning and padding quietly out of the War Room, tail swaying idly behind him as it drags along on the ground.
Storm Owl stands up. His head swivels toward the door without the rest of his body moving. Then his body moves to face the same way. He slowly walks out of the room.
Patriot stands and salutes, respectfully leaving the immediate vicinity as the General had requested. The smaller reploid follows closely behind King Dragon.
Sentinel nods lightly, as dismissals are given, he waves to the various persons leaving. Ok, so Sentinel's not all that formal. But what the hey, until he gets whapped for trying to maintain morale, he won't learn.
Anthem raises an eyebrow curiously at General's change of plans. But... well, heck. She has better things to do than listen to what she knows already. So she simply shrugs and stands. "Right, sir. C'mon, boys, let's leave them like nice little minions." And, with a smirk, she leaves to go find a TV to watch some hockey.
Cryogen Bison nods and remains seated. His optics focus on the news feeds only he can see within the helmet. Finally, he double taps his RF insignia. There's a quick flash of light and then he stands, standard armor equipped. He then stalks to the Command Chambers.
Twila Peterson takes Rock's hand and accompanies him out...
<Shortly after...>
Command Chamber - RHQ
If the Command Floor is the heart of Repliforce, then this room
is definitely the brain. The second half of the enormous
Repliforce mainframe computer is housed in this well-lit room,
even more Repliforce soldiers and officers moving around. There
are personal communication and monitoring stations, as well as
numerous collapsible tables where officers can meet and
collaborate. The din in here is usually not too bad, though you
can find people in here any time of night or day doing their
jobs. In the middle of the room is a massive platform and
retractable desk where the General can sit and work, as well as
make decisions.
Cryogen Bison moves along slowly, armor switched to standardized, non-com armor. His optics blaze a bit as he thinks.
Sentinel similarly follows behind the gathering, looking unusually down, given he's often rather optimistic. He is quiet still, looking up, up, up and away towards General...
The various Repliforce officials housed within the Command Chamber look up as the towering General enters. He makes a beeline for his desk, currently retracted, and the personnel scatter. One look at the solemn visage of their Commander is enough to send them away from the room and onto the Command Floor. They know well that something is about to happen ... The General wishes to be alone save for those he has brought. A heavy hand raises to the controls that bring out his desk, activating it with systematic ease. It lowers and locks into place with several resounding clanks, clicks and snaps. Thus done, chair also raising, the Commander and Chief of the Repliforce settles down with a deep sigh. He adjusts his had calmly, laces his hands upon the desk and looks to those below. He studies each one of them, rumbling voice sparking to life, "Do speak, Sentinel, that we may find light to guide us through the chaotic darkness that has befallen us."
Commander X enters from the War Room, hand in hand with Twila as they enter the Command Floor. X looks about with deep interest, then the Commander looks up and over to General, his face returning to the intense gaze of the Commander, offering Twila's hand a final squeeze before releasing. X regards the General of the Repliforce, looking over to Sentinel, knowing full well what he might be speaking off.
Sentinel similarly follows behind the gathering, looking unusually down, given he's often rather optimistic. He is quiet still, looking up, up, up and away towards General...until he is prompted to speak. "Yes sir. I'm not sure how much of a light this will be, though. I...", he stops, unsure of how to continue, "...Spoke at length with the secretary-general on this matter. It would seem that this mass-pardon applies only to Mavericks, sir. All other Reploids with criminal records are still held accountable. The only other thing she would tell me was that Sigma presented the bill to the U.N. Assembly. Beyond that, she refused to elaborate for various reasons." He seems rather hesitant in tone, as if he hadn't wanted to speak to everyone about this.
Twila Peterson squeezes Rock's hand in return just before the releasing return as they're lead into the other room, her gaze quietly pans the chambers...then redirects her focus on the others, watching as they leave. Maintaining silence for now she two suspects that the ruling was abit forced...if what she heard was true. What else could it be?
X... didn't know all of the things Sentinal was going to talk about. He thought he would speak about his meeting with Storm Eagle when X saw him stirring out the hive in Robotropolis only a short time ago. X looks to Sentinel... absorbing his words with a growing look of shock on his face... then it hardens to stone. Sigma. He did this. He probably forced the Sec Gen's hand...
Cryogen Bison looks at Sentinel and nods slowly. He folds his arms as he stops, gazing around the room for a moment, before returning his attention to the matters at hand. He sub-vocalizes orders for a few moments, then falls respectfully silent. He has several suspicions and is ready to attempt confirmation of one.
General leans back in his massive chair slowly, his arms folded across his chest as he stares up at the ceiling. He's silent - very silent. Perhaps too much so, for no sound in the least emits from his person. His optics close in thought, but still he says absolutely nothing, "....."
Commander X looks up to the General, nodding as he to absorbs the infortmation. X sighs, raising his arms up and crossing them over his chest... then X looks up to the General. His voice rises up as he strides foward. "General, Permission to Speak? There are some other factors you should know off."
Sentinel blinks, a bit worried and surprised as General says nothing. He asks, "Did I say too much, sir?" He might continue with these concerns, but Rock speaking is, in this case, the situation equivalent of 'SHUT UP'.
In a level tone, sounding very tired all of a sudden, the General replies simply, "Permission granted." He'll reply to Sentinel at a later time, if the tone did not answer for itself. He's only worried - very worried.
Cryogen Bison watches and listens, mind running through the scenarios and not liking any of them...Far worse implications than even a Mew leak...
Twila Peterson shifts her weight slightly, simply maintaining observance for right now and lowers her arms to her side. Her gaze looks to Rock, but only briefly....then goes to her own pondering.
Sentinel , even as Cryogen is running through things in his head, is doing the same. He wide-eyes, arriving at a rather startling conclusion, if not one more suited to conspiracy tabloids and paranoid rantings. Regardless, he doesn't voice whatever it is that he's thought of, not called to speak, so far.
Commander X uncrosses his arms, placing them behind his back as he stands at attention, speaking to the General in a concerned tone. His own emotions are carrying through just as much... worry... doubt... and something more. "I have been away from the Hunter-HQ for a good week or so, due to the need of my presence when called by the Torontreal Officials on a matter of a severe Maverick Attack that I dealt with. A few of the senior Reploids who oversaw the maintenance and construction of the Megalopolis' Freeway System revealed themselves to be Mavericks, taking control of the maintenance droids they had under their command and used them to attack the city. I dealt with the matter... but wasnt able to return to the Hunter-HQ for some time. I was only recently informed that one of my Hunters... who disobeyed orders and went down into South Africa during my absence was..." Here the Commander's voice breaks... then he shakes his head. "... was found dead by the Hunter, Proto Man. Sigma himself personally told me he killed Hunter Noise... and this is proof that Sigma is taking a very large roll in the troubles in South Africa. I am sure that Sigma has engineer this somehow... to tie our hands while he consolidates control of South Africa..." X's voice in the end is also strained... X lost a friend to that monster... the first of any of the Hunters to actually die... He lost a friend... to Sigma...
And at this, for the first time in a great while, the General's expression ... shifts to one of repressed anger. His brows furrow, immense hand raising to clench with a shattering rumbling of sound. He had heard of Noise's death, but not at the hands of Sigma. This, combined with Sentinel's words, has greatly disturbed the General. He remains silent for the longest time, still refusing to speak on the matters. He only broods, lost in his own thoughts. "...."
Cryogen Bison glances up as he hears the words 'South Africa'...He pays very close attention and suddenly he balls up a fist and slams it into his other hand. "Of course, that's the missing link." He shakes his head and sub-vocalizes again...Then returns to attention. He considers this, a second thought hitting him, this one just as evil as the last...And this one with potentially greater implications...He snorts out a little cloud of icy mist, then inhales it again. His mind races over the implications of the South Africa riot, the tear gas, the Mew, and this Hunter's death...All are connected somehow.
Sentinel turns to X/Rock now, all pretense of military formality gone. He shakes his head lightly, offering in a very quiet tone, "I'm sorry. I'm truly sorry to hear about Noise..." He'd never met Noise, or even heard of him, but it's obvious everyone else misses the Hunter. He looks to Cryogen, and nods. "I think he's right, sir. If I could voice my thoughts...Sigma is setting up ways to win politically, by taking control of South Africa, and militarily, with this bill allowing them free movement worldwide until they strike..."
Twila herself caught was said over the broadband as well..and can't find herself being all too surprised it really. It does start to make sense. But then she's forced to somehow wonder if Zero knew any of the Maverick happenings. he was the one that ordered Hunters remain well enough away from South Africa. But she doesn't bring it up. Not right now. The Beserker has enough going against him in the eyes of Repliforce without adding unfounded, or founded, suspicions. Instead she brushes a hand against Rock's arm as he hangs his head. Not exactly knowing what to say at the moment.
"Cryogen Bison," states the General suddenly, "Find out all that you possibly can concerning these accusations and thoughts that I know you an all the others have. I doubt not that we all desire the same conclusion." More silence. Eyes cast upward. Expression solemn. His frame slowly relaxes as he rests, voice pouring forth once more in a tone that reflects the weary sole of the Commander and Chief, "Beyond this, thank you, Hunters, for your attendance...Be on standby should we need the aid. The situation...May grow most dire." His eyes close once more at this point, "...Leave me."
Commander X looks up to the 20 foot tall Golden Titan for long moments... then his sapphire eyes move first to Cryogen, nodding. Then X pauses... turning his gaze to Sentinel... his face firm... yet he sighs softly. He speaks in return to Sentinel... sadness and grief buried for another day in his voice. "Thank you, Sentinel... That means a lot." Rock then nods slowly to Sentinel's words, letting out another sigh. "You are most likely right, Sentinel. If there is anything I know and actually respect about Sigma... he is a brilliant tactician... this seems like something that he would do." Rock looks up and to the General... "I am going to be investigating this. Personally. Sigma and I have several old scores to settle... and this one is even deeper then them all. Sigma is going to answer for his crimes... no matter what that bill he mostly forced into passing talks about... I am going to make him answer for them." Then Rocks nods at the General's words, saluting smartly to the General... "We will be, General. We will be." X then looks back to Twila... nodding slowly...
Sentinel salutes briefly as General asks for everyone to leave. Best dang advice this knight-wannabe has ever heard, or wanted to hear. He heads out quickly, clearly with something on his mind...
"Sir, I think it possible that there are several connections between several events in past months. Foremost of which being my investigation into a type of tear gas used in the riot in South Africa, the one that got us to withdraw from it." He shakes his head, "It is entirely possible that Sigma is attempting to create global strife and unrest amongst Reploids, in a power play to take position as the secretary-general through some sort of subtle coercion." He sighs and continues on, "If so, then I would like to have Special Operations begin a full operational setup in the UN offices to the effect of providing security against covert Maverick operations." o0(Covert my skidplate...) He speaks all this as Sentinel does...He stops and salutes as General gives him his orders, "Sir, yes sir." He then looks to X and Sentinel...Observing.
Twila Peterson dips her chin respectfully towards the other officers as well as to the Commdander of the Repliforce. "Godspeed," is all she offers.
"We shall see," responds the General to Cryogen simply, his eyes remaining closed. No others enter the Chamber and he says nothing more, growing very silent and still.
Rock nods at Twila's words, repeating them himself. "Godspeed... and good Hunting." X then turns to Twila, walking to her and motions with a head to the doors, reaching out to clasp her hand in his. X also looks back to Cryogen and Sentinel as her makes his way for the exit
<Back at base...>
Teleportation Chamber--Hunter HQ
Rock appears in his tube, opening it slowly and steping out... puzzling over Twila's reluctance... but then... he can understand that. Rock sighs happily... summoning the blue glow around him and sheading his armor in favor of his casual outfit
Twila Peterson steps out of the chamber upon arriving, offering. "First time I got to wear the uniform anyway." Joining him, she asks, "Think Zero may know anything regarding South Africa?"
Rock hmms then... looking to Twila. "He might... I will
ask him and see what he knows." Rock then walks forward,
taking Twila into his arms as she walks, slipping up behind her
and resting his chin on her shoulder, his eyes closing
Twila Peterson places her hands on his and sneaks a kiss to his
cheek. "I'm sure too. You doing ok?"
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'Twila and I just
returned from the meeting with General. How go things around
here?'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Bass visited and kidnapped
Fliptop.'.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: '... Ohfun...'.
"Even with Blues' poor sense of humor?" she adds.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: '... Waitaminute...
Blues! ... You actualy made a joke...'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Sarcasam is a lost art on you,
isn't it?'.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: '*chuckles* Anyway... how is
Sarah, Blues?'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Recovering.'.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'Good. Find out anything of
interest?'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Nope. .oO(Not that I'd tell
you.)Oo.'.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'Ok, Blues. By the way...
Sorry for earlier. You and Zero do have points, but I have a
feeling here... at least we may earn a few new friends for
helping Sarah.'.
Rock nods and smiles to Twila. "I am all right, Twila... mostly... just trying to get through this. Sigma is going to be trouble..." Rock sighs, sneaking a kiss of his own to her cheek... "It's good to be home..." Rock then reluctantly parts from her... smiling softly.
As he parts Twila makes it a point to slip the bottle back to him. "Here...I don't need this...yet." She then smiles again and tilts her head. "Before er go back down...mind if I inform you of something you may overhear from Sarah?"
Rock nods, taking the bottle and returning it to his pocket... slipping it into Sub-Space. Rock shrugs then smiles. "Hmm... if you like, Twila... What is it?" Rock smiles softly, crossing his arms over his tanktop covered chest
Twil glances towards the terminals for a moment before turning her attention back again. "I met her brother Derek and Sarah several days ago in the San An mall. Um, Derek was hittingonme at thetime. Anyway, two of the Masters there Crash and Magic threatened him with bodly harm if he didn't take me out, if I told him no, or if he 'broke my heart' as they put it. Sarah, knows ofhisflirting. But she doesn't know of the other. In case...you were wandering why Sarah was stating what she was earlier."
Rock blinkblinkblinks... then shakes his head, listening to Twila's words and runninmg them through playback in his head again... slowed down. Rock nods slowly, then offers a soft smile. He then walks forward, gathering her into his arms once more and leaning close, whispering... he may have very little experience... but he has read, learned, and come to understand a lot. "Don't worry. Hmm... if Crash and Magic threatened that... I will make sure they won't be able to carry out their threats. As uhh... for flirting..." Rock shrugs and smiles to Twila. "I don't think a little flirting is a bad thing... really..." Rock's cheeks then turn red... shaking his head and then pauses... before continuing... "So... It's ok... I'm not mad or... anything... or whatever... It makes kind of sense as I overheard the conversation between Derek and Sarah when she was talking to him by Radio and beat was listening in and he mentioned you several times with concern and other stuff and it makes sense now to me as i think about it." Rock gasps in a breath... his words having come out fast and sounding embarrassed
The reploid is embraced in returned as well as given a small squeeze. "Thought you should know. I mean Derek seems nice and all but---." At this point Twila kisses his cheek. "I wanted you to know what was going on so...you wouldn't be in the dark. I...agreed with him to go out...although didn't tell him it was until the situation was settled." She shifts her weight nervously, knowing she's leading the other man on somehow...but not knowing exactly...what to do about it.
Dang, Masters!
"And all this since Magic stated he wanted to know more of his 'stepdad'."
Rock nods to Twila, hugging her close and then nods slowly. "Don't worry... I will see what I can do to teach the RMs a lesson... they really need to leave you alone." Rock grumbles softly... then shakes his head. "It must be Wily's doing... I don't know why... but it must be..." Rock then shrugs... changing the subject slightly and speaking softly to Twila. "Thanks, Twila... Thank you..." Rock hugs her... returning the soft kiss in return... his being upon her lips... silently showing her his true feelings...
Twila Peterson blinks a little in surprise, although in truth she shouldn't have been more than likely, and shuts them as their lips tough. She offers him a tight squeeze and pulls back slightly while remaining within the embrace. "Wha...what brought this on?" she asks just above a whisper.
The Blue Bomber holds Twila close... his arms about her... gazing into her eyes with his deep, sapphire blues. "Just... an apology, Twila... I was wrong... I thought perhaps... it would be better to just be friends because if we were... then you wouldn't be in as much danger. Just..." Rock sighs... his cheeks heating bright red... "I'm sorry..." Rock looks to her once more... looking into her eyes. "I can do this without you..."
In this intense moment between human and reploid... neither seemingly notice the screens... and the meeting between to people before the labs
The young woman falls into silence, then brings up her arm and lays her hand gently against Rock's cheek. "Why the apology?" is her only question.
Rock sighs, then looks into her eyes... holding her close. "... I just felt I should." Rock shakes his head then, his cheeks a rosy red as he blushes. He looks to Twila then, leaning forward and drawing her close, pressing his cheek softly to hers, whispering softly... "I love you, Twila..." Rock holds her for a long moment... before slowly releasing her...
Twila Peterson withdraws her hand, bringing it back to her side, she does so with her other, but squeezes Rock's hand before fully letting go. "I love you too, Rock. I always have. And I always will," she assures him. "You still blush really cute too."
Hopefully, that won't *really* get him blushing.
Oh... it does... Rock lowers his head and chuckles... giggles really... before looking up to Twila, nodding. "I think I have some Recharging to catch up on..." Rock walks forward, hugging her close to him once more. "Tomorrow will be a long day... are you going stay here tonight again?"
Twila Peterson hasta think on that for awhile....about .05 seconds...while returning the hug. "Well, Cain stated earlier he would check on the patients during the night so I can get myself some sleep. I'll be heading back to the barracks." After all...can't sleep to well if you waking up ever few hours to check up on the patients.
Rock nods to Twila, his hands lowering to grip hers...
squeezing softly after he reluctantly breaks the hug. "All
right... I'm going to go and get some recharge time... I could
use it after today." Rock smiles softly to her...
"Sleep well, Twila..."
