(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: '*Groan* I won't ask this other question then. Anyone know of a good bar in.... *Grumble* I think this is Sydney...'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Uh...sounds like...you've already been to a bar.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'Yeah, well Doc, after a few things, it's all I've wanted to do.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Where exactly are you at the moment. Maybe we can meet up.'.
(Ch. B [Alliance]) Techno transmits: 'He did say... Sydney, no?'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'She. And asked since...Sydney is a big place. Ask any wayward cabbit. *grumble*'.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'Acording to some stupid jerk I just asked, this is Sydney. *Short pause* WHO are you calling a he?!?!?!'.
<Soon...>
Sydney - Business District
This area had suffered the worst impact from the first Maverick
assault and was once nearly reduced to rubble, but today the
streets are free from ruin and the rebuilt Skyscrapers stand tall
once again. The buildings that didn't survive the attack were
demolished to allow room for others in their place. No matter
where you look you'll see several sites in the stages of being
half-built, or nearly complete. The newer office buildings reach
heights that make the restored structures look quite small as
these glass and steel giants around them cast their shadows over
the streets during the late afternoon.
Twila Peterson steps out of the teleportation area, peering about for a certain slightly-out-of-it reploid. It's her second time in three days she's come here. And again she searches for someone.
Only this time it's not a small gray ball of furr with floppy ears and a cotton-ball tail.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: '*snore snore snore*'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: '*wince* Alright...who's making 6 on the Richter?'.
(Ch. B [Alliance]) Techno transmits: 'MAN!'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: '*snort* Wah? Hrm... left my radio on... *yawn* we'll just take care of that... *click*'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Nevermind...'.
Discord:
Standing on the ground before you, at about five feet, eleven
inches in height, is a person, a /very/ feminine looking reploid,
that could easily pass for a seventeen year old attractive human
female.
Probably the thing that sticks out about her the most, is her
face and head. Her face has a simple elegance to it, almost as if
it was ment to duplicate the faces of the most beautiful human
females. The first thing people tend to notice about her face
itself is her eyes which appear to a soft green, and yet, somehow
they also appear to reflect a barely contained anger. Mean while
right below her eyes, just like on a human, there is a small
petite nose, and full red lips just below that. Also, on her left
ear, there is a single strange, red sphere, an earring of some
sort. Finally there is her long, bluish grey hair, that at its
longest part, ends just slightly above her waist, almost as if
this reploid likes having long hair, and for some strange reason
actually likes the way that almost appears as an organized chaos.
The rest of her lithe body, which shape wise in itself is well
within humanoid norms, and would even be considered *extremely*
attractive by most humans, giving her the what some would say
'all the attractive qualities of a complete woman'. Right now,
she is wearing not a lot actually, just tight tee-shirt, tied at
the bottom in the front, into a knot, a pair of high cut
blue-jean shorts, and a pair of sandals.
Finally her body language somehow indicates that this female is
always on guard, and unwilling to lose, almost as if she can't
afford to lose, and yet at the same time there also appears to be
a hint of loneliness, mixed with a barely controlled anger, as if
she doesn't want to, or need to do anything but lash out.
This is Dischord, ready to relax, forget her worries, and even
possibly pass as a human for a little while.
Dischord is slowly walking, yes you saw that right, walking, not flying or floating, towards the teleportation area along an strangely empty stretch of sidewalk. Appearance wise, she looks a little better than yesterday. Her clothing is relatively clean, and her hair just looks like her usual mess instead of the wreck it was yesterday. And yet her expression, and appearance, somehow seams wrong, almost as if she doesn't care what happens anymore.
(Ch. B [Alliance]) Techno transmits: '*snickers* ... Oh, hey.. Dischord? How far are you from making it back to base?'.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'Someone, do me a favor and go give Number Two a swift kick in his aft.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'Why would you care how far I am from base?'.
After a few moments it's not all that difficult to spot Dischord after she comes into view. And indeed she appears a bit more "kept". However, by the look within her eyes, it seems as if Twila shouldn't do away with any of her concern. She starts to approach her friend and looks her over with a quiet gaze before asking, "Dischord, what's wrong?"
With a slight, forced grin, the mercenary calmly says as she walks towards the other femme, "Oh I'm fine..." But then she pauses, and just looks around, before sighing. After she has made sure that no one else is apparently listening in, she does contradict herself. "I don't know Doc. I don't know."
Twila Peterson hasn't seen much of the reploid lately so...wouldn't really know much of what may have brought this on...other than her mentioning someone she had been hoping to meet last night. "Were you able to find your friend last night?"
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: '*click* *yawn* Alright... need some coffee... but this chair is so comfortable... *stretch-yawn* Well I might as we.... GAK *CRASH*... medic.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Ow. I'm sure one of the drones could give you a nice Band-Aid...'.
Dischord sighs, and shakes her head, "Didn't go there after all. Didn't want to drag up the past again." With a slight sigh, the merc just looks away, and adds, "Like someone else did recently."
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Ugh...alright. I'm up... *grumble* stupid chair...'.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'Whatever you did, you deserved that number two. You always deserve what ever /YOU/ get.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: '...'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Apparently someone isn't little miss sunshine this morning'.
Twila Peterson tilts her head to the side. "What...do you mean---?" Then after listening to the chan chatter she forces a small "Oh, boy..." She takes a guess. "Zero?"
Meanwhile, on another part of town...far out of sight from two ladies. Doppler awaits to rendezvous with two of his greatest creations.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'Yeah, well it's always talking to someone that will eternally be second best.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'You want me to come down there right now and show you just who's second best, Woman?'.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'Like you'd even have a chance! Ha! You never had a clue, did you!'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: '*cough-ahem-cough* Behave you too, please?'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Yeah we...sorry Twi...'.
Byte chuckles as he receives the radio transmission and concentrates for a moment. A second later, the wall to the teleport area blows outward and Byte floats through the opening.
Twila Peterson idly wonders if her questions simply...doesn't need an answer, going by the broadband. Sheesh...she's baby-sat 3 year olds who acted older.
Dischord just nods, any emotion, and feeling, anything that may of given the slightest clue as to what was said, and how Disch's reacted to it, vanishes. "Yeah it was him," is said, and nothing else, in response to the human.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'Sorry Doc.'.
Even as the girls exchange chatter, one of the said creations cometh. His blurred form rockets across rooftops, much like a hopping comet, and finally comes to rest upon the one which Doppler stands near. His cold, white eyes stare silently at the scene about him. After all, a rooftop makes a right dandy vantage point. Unlike his louder brother, the golden clad Reploid choses to remain as quiet as possible. Thus, rearing to full height from his landed kneel, he drops like a rock toward Doppler. His arms fold as he surges down, landing with a soft clank and a bend of the knees. Aegis cuts down through the air to hover beside him.
"Father," states Bit while bowing his head toward the Doctor. "I came as quickly as possible and, by what I have observed, Byte has arrived as well. Whatever you will shall be done." He remains where he stands per speaking, stance stiff and tall. It almost seems like he's standing on the toes of his boots in this stance.
Twila thought as much. She didn't really need an answer...not after the small debate that just happened over the channel. She gazes back towards Dischord with a sigh. "What...happened exactly? Mind...saying?"
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Zero: "Dischord is upset over something as is. Don't eed to get her unsettled any more."
Zero sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Yeah well, I'm upset too, ya know. It's not my fault things between us went the way they did, I told her I'd do everything I could to make it up to her, but all she does is give me attitude."
You paged Zero with 'Yer ALWAYS upset tho :-)'.
Zero pages: Yeah, well that's irrelevant! :D
Dr. Doppler raises a brow and looks over to Byte making a rather conspicuous entrance. Ah well, Byte wasn't programmed too intricately in the art of subtlety. His gaze shifts over to another form, one with more grace, whose entrance calls less attention. "Ah Bit, yes...indeed, your brother is here." He frowns and looks away towards the direction of Twila and Dischord. "My reconnaissance drones report sighting Ms. Peterson and the reploid known as Dischord not too far from our position." He smirks and nods. "Your simple duty...is to watch my back, no doubt Dischord is one with a temper, and her boytoy Zero might show as well. Should anything...occur..." An evil smile cuts across his wicked expression. "I won't shed tears for any of them." He eyes Bit, wondering if he got the message between the lines.
Dischord sighs again before she shakes her head. "I'm sorry, Doc... It's..." She pauses, closing her eyes even as small tendrils of red energy leave the edges of her eyelids, the energy waving around almost like streamers, or water caught ion the wind. "He wanted me to...he....he apologized to me."
Byte makes his way over the rubble to stop at a low hover in front of Doppler. He regards the cyborg for a moment before taking his place at the rear left side.
Twila Peterson ventures a slow step closer, softening her gaze somewhat. "I don't understand."
Bit nods once with narrowing eyes, "Of course, Father.
There shall be no tears shed for the ignorant, for by their
choice, they live in that blasphemy. Thus, eradication must
ensue." He clicks back into a bow and rears his gaze toward
Twila and Dischord in a sudden silence. Studying them, as it
were, for everything that he could possibly observe. Mulling over
Doppler's words, he also adds in a very, very calm tone,
"...And Father, should the Hunter, Zero, arrive, then I will
dispatch him personally if necessary." The calm manner of
speaking may in fact hint at an overwhelming sense of confidence,
but who knows. As Byte arrives, he lifts his gaze in a nod toward
his counterpart. No words for now are deemed necessary.
"I don't either..." Dischord starts, before catching herself, feeling that isn't the right way to say it, almost as if it doesn't begin to cover what she wants to say. "Doc, do you remember before, when I told you that stuff I don't want others to know. In fact I specifically said that I didn't want a specific person to find it out?"
Dr. Doppler smiles and looks over the two brothers. He nods to Byte upon arrival and pats the giant with a small hand upon the behemoth's larger one. "Glad to see you two are still as punctual as ever. I don't trust my life to anyone else so completely as I do with the two of you." He chuckles and watches the desolate streets. "The mere sight of both your presence in the same immediate vicinity strikes fear into the humans, amusing is it not?" The cyborg begins to glow an eerie crimson red, casting dancing shadows across the features of the area. His body glowing bright, surging with energy, trying to look as intimidating as possible. "Fear is a good thing, perhaps the greatest of things. Now it is time, we insert fear into the lives of two particular females." And with that, the not-so-good Doctor moves off towards the direction where his drones had reported Twila and Dischord sighted at.
Byte winces as he is touched AGAIN by the human. He shudders slightly and follows the Doctor.
Twila Peterson nods somewhat slowly and with care. "I...remember..."
Bit closing his eyes slowly, allowing them to be consumed in shadow, the Field Commander begins to rise. He does this briskly and, as Doppler moves, he follows after him in such a way so as to keep himself just behind him. It is true, with little doubt, that the sight of Dr. Doppler, Bit and Byte would strike unmatched terror in any heart. Today, as it were, would not be the best time to have a sale of any sort.
Dischord says, "Yeah, well Zero is that one. There are some things he doesn't know, that even I don't know, that I don't want him to know that I don't." Shaking her head slightly, Disch pauses yet again before continuing, not yet noticing the three Mavs, "But when he talked, even though he didn't mention that stuff, he just made it sound like everything had always been his fault."
Suddenly, without warning...all hell breaks loose on the two women. Glass shatters, windows exploding, their shards scattering about on the cement. An inferno consumes everything around them, fire shrieking out of every possible structure. A wall of flames surrounding every possible path. The blue sky consumed by thick black smoke, a deafening roar of the blaze consumes every single other sound....except one.....laughter.
Out of one region, an outline of a tall man emerges. His body and face rather opaque in the contrast on the bright fires. The enigmatic figure continues cackling until his visage comes into clear view, Doppler. "I would imagine this to get your attention ladies."
Byte's massive form parts the smoke just behind Doppler and to the left. He mutters under his breath, "Perhaps, but they are rather stupid. One never knows."
Twila Peterson jumps back a bit at the at the sudden wall of flames, eye wide before she even has a chance to respond to the reploid. "What in the---?" she begins to exclaim before eyeing the approaching form of the cyborg. Instinctively she pulls Dischord back with her...although somehow knowing the femme isn't going to be easily persuaded to simply stay that way. "Was wondering why it had suddenly gotten less crowded out here..."
A massive shield suddenly tears through the flame and smoke, forging a pathway through the inferno. A golden form hovers through the parting, arms still folded and feet pointed toward the ground. The shield hovers back around, taking an idle position near its owner as he emerges. Thus, Bit appears toward Doppler's right. His cold eyes peer down at the girls below, gaze shifting aside as if he were expecting another to arrive. Almost eager, it seems, for that very thing to occur. He turns somewhat toward whom he calls Father, studying his expression momentarily before training it back upon the Hunter and the human girl. "Unto my experience, my brother, humans have served as nothing more than simple labor. Though the knowledge of a few can be a powerful asset at times. Nonetheless, our cause in this has been made clear."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Zero: "Doppler sends his regards here in Sydney..."
Zero sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I'll be there on the double."
From afar, Eclipse peers. Allright. What kinda trouble are you gettin into? :)
You paged Eclipse with 'Um....er....me? o:)'.
From afar, Eclipse ahems. Yes you. :)
Dischord is shaken for a moment by the pure chaos around her, allowing her to blink only once as the human pulls her backwards. But with little warning, the android lets out a snarl upon finally seeing the Mavericks, her eyes glowing a bright red, while the rest of her form is covered in a shadow for a second as she shifts over into her armor. "Doc, tell me that guy in the middle isn't who I think it is."
Dischord transforms into Demon.
Dr. Doppler moves his eyes to the corner to glance at Bit's form. "Yes, a waste of carbon if you ask me. Bags of liquid." He spits out the words with bitter contempt. "But...they have their use, from time to time." His glance shifts over to Twila. "That one, for example, does." His cold calculating expression grins and his head tilts to the side ever so slightly. "Ahhh, Ms. Peterson, so nice to see you again. I doubt you could say the same for me. You will come with me, now...or be taken by force." A hand gestures behind him to the towering Byte. "Your choice..." He considers Dischord for a moment and gives her a quick snort, giving a short sarcastic remark over to the female reploid. "Oh I -do- hope you don't disapprove."
Zero steps out of the teleporters, donned in his black armor. Now, Zero in black armor means one of two things.
A. He's under Wily's control...
or...
B. He's in a -really- baaaaaaad mood.
Now then, seeing as how Wily does not have control over Zero anymore, I think one can deduct that Zero is not in a pleasant mood. He looks about the area, a sneer already plastered on his face, he's mad, oh is he mad.
Byte just folds his arms and waits patiently.
Twila Peterson swallows, peering first towards the flaming walls and then towards the ominous trio. "Ok...I won't," she manages to get out while her lungs start to protest towards the smoke rising around them. She intakes a breath of the soiled air...probably not the best of things to do right now, and slightly chokes on her words. "What? Why would I be even expect to go with you?"
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'What's going on, all I see is fire.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Doppler's... *sputter* is apparently asking me for a date...'.
Bit tilts his visage toward the sky, peering silently into its depths as this vocal exchange occurs. Surely, the Hunter will arrive and, thus, he shall do as he said. Dispatch him. His stance stiffens just a little as he hovers there, Aegis floating idly next to him. The flames crackle nearby and the Field Commander merely casts his gaze toward them. The contorting shadows wash over his frame as he studies the inferno. All consuming, yet elegant, fire is. A smirk well hidden by his mouth cover appears as he thinks to himself. Soon, however, his mind shall be occupied with other things. Realizing this, he jerks his attention back to the task at hand.
Zero comes to a stop in his advancement and looks about, not seeing anything but a whole lot of fire. He reaches for his sabre as he speaks a few words over his radio, and then returns his attention to the scene. As he gets his reply his expression twists into an even more annoyed sneer, "Is that so..." he mutters to himself as he circles around the fire, to find Twila and begins to walk towards her, "We'll see about that."
Dr. Doppler laughs at Twila and looks over to Dischord. "Ha! Yeah, like I want a second rate, traitorous reploid like /her/, no...not especially." He looks squarely at the human. "I mean you, and you alone." Crossing his arms, the cyborg waits. "Patience isn't exactly one of my greatest virtues, what will it be?"
There are very few ways to actually get Dischord to completely lose her temper. But one of the quickest, and surest ways is to threaten someone that she feels she has to protect. In this case that would be Twila. Only the thing is, she hasn't lost all control yet, which is shown by her by simply saying, "Doc get behind me." As she says that she also starts to move forward, and makes a fist, her sword appearing. Only this time it looks different, cause it, like the energy filling her eyes, is now black.
Byte cracks his knuckles, each one sounding like a rifleshot over the flames. He stares down at Twila, begging her in his mind to give the wrong answer.
Zero ahems and calls out, "What it's gonna be, psycho, is you taking your little cyborg aft, and going back home with your little pets," the obsidian clad hunter calls out as he ignites his sabre. "Or, conversely, you can stay...feel free...I've always wanted to get you back for deciding it'd be a good idea to try and screw with my mind."
Zero chuckles after a short pause, "So... I'll just return the favor, and screw with yours...the hard way."
Bit continues to stare wordlessly as the scene unfolds. Yet, as Dischord's sword appears, the Reploid tilts his gaze upward 'just' slightly. The stark white optics suddenly narrow, however, as the darkness threatens to consume him. Well, well, well, Zero decided to come after all. Jerking his gaze to Doppler, Bit states as calmly as possible, "If you wish, Father, I will deal with the freak myself." Freak? Such harsh words, but nothing could be further from the truth. Created by Wily to hate humans and destroy, only to serve them and protect. Besides, that *hair*...In accordance, Aegis whirls toward Bit's front and a single arm snaps forward in a reflexive motion. Now holding the shield by physical force, the other arm drops as he awaits command.
Dr. Doppler rolls his eyes at Zero. "Ahh...I was wondering when -he- would show up...to for the price of one. Here comes the hero, oh so brave heartthrob, Zero to the rescue. Need not fear little ladies, for I Zero am here! Quickly, to the Zero mobile." He smirks. "Feel free to play the saddled hero, feel free to take the consequences as well." Doppler nods to Bit then motions his head over to the Hunters. "You both know what to do."
Byte narrows his optics as Zero appears. He glances over at Bit, just to catch his brothers eye, then regards the scene silently again. The look on his face is very similar to a dog waiting to be taken off of his leash.
Twila Peterson castes a worried glance towards the reploid femme and does as told. She's worried however. It wouldn't take much for Doppler's to guards to merge, deal with Disch, and take her anyway. A new voice registers soon after however, and she hopes that evens the odds a bit more. Otherwise, she fears it would go badly for her friend...giving her cause to think of merely surrounding.
But what would persuade the Mavericks to simply leave the others be anyway?
She takes a step back further. But...in truth, where can Twila really go with the flames blocking her way? .oO(Terrific...I really *am* a jinx..!)Oo. "JUst what in heck do you want with me?"
Zero snorts and says in an annoyed tone, "Hero? No, if you want a hero, go call up X." He flicks his hair back and smirks arrogantly as he strikes a slight pose. "The only thing I am, is the last person you want to see on the other side of the fence. I'm gonna show you why if you don't pack up your crap and get out of here." he takes a step forward and shoots a look over at Bit. He chuckles and says, "The only freak here is your beloved 'father'. Unless Bass somehow found a way to sneak in without me knowing." Yes, even when he's not here, Zero will find a way to belittle the fish helmed robot master. He swipes his sabre through the air at the Mavericks and grins, "Now then, we can do this the easy way, or the hard way, chose whatever you like, right about now, I think I'd prefer the hard way."
(Ch. B [Civilian-Freq]) Iris transmits: '**snicker**'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Now is not the time to find humor in a situation, Iris.'.
.oO(Gota protect the Doc. Gota protect the Doc...)Oo.
As that thought starts to repeat over in her mind, the black coming from her eyes, and in her sword turns ever so slightly into a extremely dark red.
"Go get a life, you miserable excuse for someone who wants to be human!" she yells at Doppler, just trying to feel like she's doing something, anything to help, as internally she just fights with herself on what she can do.
(Ch. B [Civilian-Freq]) Iris transmits: 'Oh please, don't be so grouchy, Zero.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Now isn't the *cough* time, Iris...trust me on that.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Iris, shut your hole, and get off our radio channel, we've got a situation here, one that your beloved Repliforce has supposed decided not important enough for them to bother with.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'Both of you, just shut up. Number two, maybe if you draw the two clowns off, I could fly the doc out...'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'I can do that, just make sure you get her out as fast as possible, these two morons should be easy enough to distract.'.
(Ch. B [Civilian-Freq]) Iris transmits: 'I'll explain later, Twila. In the meantime, you realize had I /known/ something -serious- was up I'm sure I could have gotten some Repliforce to show up. So stop being a jerk, Zero.'.
Dr. Doppler strokes his chin. "Well, you dead and all of your kind for starters, but for now...I need you alive for a few...experiments. I've just made this amazing brain extracting machine that actually extracts information from your mind and transforms it into digi...well, you'll see." He looks over to Dischord tauntingly. "Human, that's the last thing I /want/ to be...as for you Zero...the hard way? So be it!" Suddenly, he springs up high, a move no man of his age could do without an enhanced body. In mid-air, fire spews out from his hands, ala Akuma style, over towards Zero. His body twisting and his direction moving to fall behind his two guards. "Get them!"
Zero throws up his arm to absorb the blasts and takes a few steps back, "Why don't you go play with the pups, Doppler. I wanna run with the big dogs!" he calls out as he tightens his grip on his sabre, he looks over at Bit and Byte and smiles widely. "Alright Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, why don't you two come play with a real man, and leave the ladies alone. Or are you both too danty and fragile to handle me?"
Iris sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "*sigh* Twila, do you need anyone else there or does El Groucho got it handled for you?"
.oO(Lovely.)Oo. Twila casts a glance back towards the fiery walls surrounding the small group and emits a wince. The smoke doesn't seem to be bothering her that much...at least...not yet...for now. But the smoke from the flames seem to be the least of her problems. "Go back to playing with your junior chemistry set!" she retorts suddenly. "I'm not some kind of lab rat!"
Dr. Doppler snickers at Zero. "What makes you think they will fight as two separate entities, when they are so much more powerful...as a single...whole?"
With a snap of his hand, Aegis is sent flying through the air. Head dropping into a bow, Bit drops like a rock to the ground. His form blurs, contacting only briefly before being launched again. He vaults along, finally springing upward to catch Aegis and land not far from Zero. Through all of these motions, Bit's head has remained bowed. Darkness still holds a vale over his eyes even now, though the light slowly shines through as his visage rears up. Stark white eyes glare at the dark Hunter before him. "Danty...Fragile..." His voice is calm, sickeningly so.
A snap rings out as Bit rears his arm back, unsheathing the long pole of a hilt and then holding it aside. "I could dispatch you myself, Hunter, but you would hold the chance of living through such an endeavor. This, we cannot allow, for if a mere carcass must be returned to Lord Sigma..." The Reploid chuckles now, swiping the deactivated saber before him and then resheathing, "...Thus shall come." His legs lock together now and he flips back toward Byte, "Let us show this freak what power we wield, Brother!"
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Iris: "Well...seeing as how Byte and Bit seem to be on the verge of merging...*you* figure it out!"
Iris sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I can bring Vanguard if you want. But I'm not coming if you don't approve it, cause Zero already hates me."
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Just as I expected, this is good, makes it easier to keep them busy, take Ms. Peterson and run for it, Dischord, I'll handle Bross.'.
Byte shakes his head at Bit, so melodramatic his ototo. He just nods once before letting out an ear-splitting roar and falling forward. His arms readjust and bend in the other direction as his hand and feet grow wickedly long sets of claws. His head slides into his chest and the ring on his back detaches, wating for someone...
Zero throws his head back and cackles madly as his eyes flare a bright red as he sinks into his defensive stance, "Bring it on boys, I don't care how much uglier you get, you're still going down!" A wry smirk snakes across his features as he raises up his free hand, beckoning them forward with a finger, "Just... bring it."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Iris: "Nice to know of your priorities."
Iris sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "*sigh* FIne. You can hate me too. Where are you?"
Dischord gahs, her blade faltering for a second, before it completely vanishes. But as she does hear something over the radio she grins slightly, and mutters, "You're not going to have all the fun Number Two." but then she casts a glance at Twila, extending her hand. "Come on! You heard him!"
Bit hurtles through the air, flipping a time or two as he lands upon Byte's transforming back, "And we shall, Hunter. This day shall be your last!"
Silencing himself, his body conforms to the proper sequence, thus completing the merge.
Bit initiates a gestalt merge.
Bross has arrived.
Bit has left.
Byte has left.
Dr. Doppler leaps into the air as the merging process is complete, somersaulting and landing perfectly on the back of the behemoth. Fire all around, standing on a giant robot with the perfect view to see your enemies get slaughtered, life is good. Cackling madly, the doctor thrusts a finger forward, pointing at their targets, white jacket billowing, fire casting shadows on the cyborg making him look truly horrific.
Twila Peterson doesn't need to be told *twice* she heads on over towards Dischord without further thought...ignoring her radio for the moment...and extends her hand in kind. "Has my vote..."
Dischord grins slightly, as her forms starts to be surrounded by darkness, which also slowly starts to expand around Twila as well. In fact as it covers the two of them, their forms get blurred, even as a loud bone chilling scream fills the air, and they both are gone.
Iris sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "You know what, never mind. I don't want to help you anymore, even if I could. And Zero either. I'm tired of people being mean to me and expecting me not to feel anything from it. Bye."
Zero watches the monstrosity merge and takes a step back in caution, but he continues to wear his arrogant smirk, "Like I said, you can get as ugly as you want, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm gonna send you both back to Sigma's dead carcass in a ditty bag!" He bends down at the knees and thrusts himself into the air, his sabre trailing along like a large sheet of energy as he flies at Bross, landing on his back and grabbing a hold of the part that Bit forms, and chuckles, "An itty... bitty... ditty bag!" He spins his sabre in his hand and then chuckles, "Now then, let's dance." As he speaks those words, he shoves his sabre into the large back of Bross, the part that Byte forms and attempts to twist it in as deep as he can thrust it, a slightly crazed look on his face. Oh he's losing it, a little earlier than usual today...
Bross roars out in absolute fury as the merge completes, the voices of Byte and Bit merged to form a rather disturbing chorus, "We shall see, Hunter." Nothing more nor less is said as the massive abomination of technology stomps forward once, its frame shifting. True to be that Doppler is on him as well, but he can fly, can he not? Yes. Zero? No. Sense he's so intent on trying to rip into them, Bross purposely twists its body in a jerking motion. If nothing else, it throws off the first attempt to attack and shall, hopefully, dislodge the Hippy as well.
Dr. Doppler cackles madly, the shadows of the fire dancing on his facial features. "Not to worry, I shall get my target another time, for now...we will enjoy the moment by ripping your cocky blonde traitorous self into a sparking unrecognizable scrap heap! MWAHAHA-whoah...ehh..." Doppler nearly falls off but immediately transfers electricity down to magnetize his boots. "Better."
Zero gets knocked off balance but grabs onto Bross' ring and swings around, pushing off and flipping in the air, landing in front of the large creature and chuckles, "Close... but this isn't horseshoes or handgrenades, fatboy." He flips his sabre over in his hand and grabs it, emitter side down and starts running towards Bross at full speed, "Now... let's have some fun! Dragon Fire Blade!" he dark hunter screams as his entire arm bursts into flames. As he nears Bross he kneels down mid-stride and leaps up, attempting to slash and burn the combiner.
<And in a blink of an eye...Dischoird teleport's Twila...>
Teleportation Area--Sydney
As the two re-appear, the scream continues, as Dischord falls forward, overcome in pain, twitching almost as if her muscles are in spasms.
Twila Peterson stumbles a little, not really knowing what she should have expected. At any rate, as the two rematerlize it takes her a full momemt to realize they're back in the teleport chamber. She recoils somewhat at the scream...and then falls to her knees, trying to do what she can for the reploid. "Dischord, what is it? What's wrong?" she asks in urgency...
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Give me a status report.'.
(Ch. B []) Swing transmits: 'All quiet at base.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'We got to the teleporters. But something's wrong with Dischord!'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: '...What?'.
Dischord continues to spasm, even as she tries to talk, and to somehow regain control over her body at the same time. "Never did that before..." she gasps. "Should of expected something to happen. Have to go save him. Can't fail him again..."
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Dischord, you alright?'.
Iris sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Grr. Where /are/ you? teleporters -where-?"
Twila Peterson shakes her head forcefully as she attempts to help, "You can't go out there like this, Disch."
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Someone from base...I need help getting Disch to medbay...and then someone here to Sydney...'.
Fzzzzzzzammm! Swing appears from one of the tubes. Talk about
response time.
"Gota save Zero..." Dischord repeates, trying to stand
up, only to be caught by her own antgravs, allowing her to float
there. "Can't let him take on that thing, those two formed.
Have to help him..."
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'What's going on?! What's wrong with her?!'.
(Ch. B []) Swing transmits: 'I'm on it, Zero.'.
Swing dashes up to the pair, already in battle gear. "You need help to get her back, Twila?" he asks with concern.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Well hurry it up!'.
Twila gets back to her feet as soon as Dischord rises. "You're in no condition," she manages, worried for her and Zero both actually. She then turns towards Swings quick arrival. Knowing she can't really force Disch to go back with ehr if she steadfastly refuses all has can say is. "Only if she let's it. Otherwise, Zero needs help out there."
Swing looks down at Dischord, then back out towards the sounds of battle. "Well, what is it, Dischord? Think you can make it back to base okay?"
(Ch. B []) Swing transmits: 'Roger.'.
Dischord shakes her head at Swing, her face still contorted in pain, as she fights to control her own body. But she does say, as she just looks at the exit, "I can make it back. Later. Gotta help Zero. Doppler and two Mavericks, can't remember names. They joined together. Zero's alone..."
Swing's eyes go wide, but he nods like a pro, dashing off before another moment is wasted. "Just one of those days..." he grimaces as he dashes off, head tails flying all over the place.
Twila Peterson watches helplessly as Swing hurriedly takes his leave and let's out a sigh before changing her gaze back towards the headstrong female reploid. "I'll get medbay ready. Injured or not...I want you there when this is over..." she states reluctantly...and then moves close to a chamber.
Dischord grunts slightly from the pain, and starts towards the exit. "Sorry, Doc. Gota help him. Save him. I will be there." But she does pause to look at the human, her friend. "I'm sorry," she says softly, before vanishing through the door.
<Back at the battle...>
Bross grunts slightly as Zero scores his armor a bit. He chuckles, deep and long, "Your petty insults mean nothing to us, confused one. At the very least, our allegiance is solid, unlike your.. sordid past. Perhaps you should pull yourself together?" He rears up on his hind legs and begins swiping at Zero in an imitation of E. Honda's hundred hand slap. The big difference is, Bross has claws.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Darnit, someone give me an update on Dis...Gah'.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: '*Disch sound like she's in pain* On my way.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'She's heading back to the fight, Zero...under her own judgment.'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: '*snarl* She can do what she wants... just as long as she doesn't get in my way...'.
Swing's eyes go wide as he sees Zero slapped silly. He does'nt need to be debriefed on what is going on, he knows this is a moment of action, not words. With little more than a grunt, he charges into the fray to stand alongside his fellow Hunter.
Zero gets slashed by the large maws and is knocked back several yards and lands on his aft, grinding across the ground as sparks rise from his black armor. He picks himself up slowly as he reignites his sabre. He starts to heave his breaths heavily as he gets bad news on his radio. He takes one step forward as his eyes flare a bright red as he snarls. "Playtime is over Bross... and talking about my past isn't a good idea right now..." Suddenly he engages his dash boots as he charges at Bross once more, letting loose a wild scream of rage as he launches himself into the air, his sabre high above his head. "NOW IT'S TIME TO DIE! NYAAAAAAAAAAARGH!" As he descends on the monolithic creature he swipes once diagonally down, and then spins around as he hits the ground, immediately springing back up and back swiping diagonally across again in an X pattern. As he floats backwards he places his sabre back on his back and shifts his arm into his Zero Buster, his body already beginning to charge as a bright red aura begins to form around him. There's no humor left in Zero's body anymore, the rage has already started to set in. He digs his foot into the ground and sneers as his face contorts into an expression of pure, and unadulterated rage... nothing more, nothing less... just the pure desire to destroy.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Iris: "*cough* Now that I'm back at base and out of a ring of fire I can answer more easily. And why you think everyone hates you is beyond me."
Iris sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Gee, I wonder. Zero always being incredibly rude, none of you have a sense of humor and everyone treats me like DIRT and thinks that just because I'm Iris it wont matter!"
Swing follows up his leaders attack, and charges. Learning to strike in tandem with the raging berserker and still avoid being damaged himself has been an arduous task, but the nimble Hunter seems adept at the motion. With a spin of his club, he comes in on the opposite side of Bross, and strikes at one of his thick limbs with the quickly rotating weapon.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'No one stops me... until Bross lies in pieces at my feet...Or I die trying...'.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Iris: "I'm only going by what I saw on the radio channel, Iris. You're comments weren't exactly appropriate at the time...unless it's alright to gripe when someone else is almost abducted to be part of some of Doppler's experiments."
Iris sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Oh, and its okay to be rude and ignorant to someone?"
Dischord growls as she comes charging back out of the teleportation chamber, her face already contorted in pain. "ZEEERRROOOOOO!!!!" she screams as she jumps up, starting to fly. As she moves she has two goals, her sword re-appearing in her hands. The first goal is simple. Stop this maverick creation. The other, is to actually get Zero back to base in one piece.
Dr. Doppler laughs. "My my Zero, what energy we have hrmmm? Too bad it's directed towards the wrong goal. I made an error tampering with your programming, but during the next opportunity...there will be no such mistakes, you will-eh?" His face swivels around to his flank and over to Bross' newest adversary. "Who the hell invited you? You dare interfere!?"
Zero snarls as he looks up at Doppler, "You even think of touching me again, Doppler, and I'll make sure I have your head on a silver platter, right next to my dear 'fathers'." He continues charging his blast as he awaits Bross' next move, his eyes glowing a bright red as his body seems to almost twitch at times.
Swing narrows his eyes. "The name is Swing, Maverick. And I think /you're/ the one without an invitation."
Bross absorbs the slashes as they tear into the outer armor, another chuckle rumbling out. It's almost mocking, the sound, and very eerily with the combination of voices. "Temper, little one, or you shall bring swifter destruction upon yourself." A massive foot crashes forward to avoid Swing's own assault, the chuckle growing in volume. "And yet another lamb comes for the slaughter ... Fool!" Then, with a roar of shattering volume, the creature rears both of its impressive arms up and slams them into the ground. The tremors that follow are enough to create an Earthquake. If the Hunters do not suffer for it, then the surrounding area shall.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Iris: "Iris, I'm a bit shaken up right now. If all you want to do is think about yourself instead right now then a respectfully ask you to respect my silence. *click*"
Swing staggers under the pure seismic rage of Bross, losing himself in a sea of concrete.
Dr. Doppler rides on the back of the bucking giant, as it slams down hard, causing an earth shattering tremor, one and only one sound pierces the deafening rumble. "Bahaha! Wahoo! I say what a rush!"
Zero grahs as he's thrown off balance by the Earthquake and tumbles to the ground, he lays there for a moment, trying to stabilize himself as a few smaller buildings in the background begin to crumble and fall as well. He snarls at the pain as he ignores it, picking himself back up and continuing to charge his blast, "It's not over yet..."
If Dischord hears Doppler, she doesn't respond for herself, or for Swing. No, instead, she just continues forward, screaming, and growling, her sword and eyes growing darker with each second. As she gets closer, she does take a swing with her sword, her focus on her goals allowing her to ignore the pain she's in already for the moment. "Don't harm him!!!"
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Reinforcements needed against Bross?'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'I... need... no... help...'.
Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'Shut up Number Two and /FIGHT/!'.
Bross ignores all other attacks on his person, especially the pitiful scar made by Dischord and glowers over Zero, "No, we are not finished with you yet. Not by a long shot. First you will cower before the might of our Lord!" The ebon orb beneath him rotates away to reveal a shimmering jewel. It quickly charges and lances out a beam of energy at Zero while Bross bellows, "Virgo Gem - BLAST!"
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'I'm on my way.'.
Dr. Doppler looks up to Dischord. "Oh shuddup..."
His body charges into a brilliant bright red and a sudden surge
of power transfers through his arm. Acting as a conduit, the arm
outstretches and launches the power out into empty air. With the
swipe of his arm horizontally, a boomerang shaped electrical arc
explodes to life and shrieks towards the airborne hunter,
writhing like a snake.
You paged Bit with 'Yeah. He said Twi didn't hafta come (If he
goes and I'm not on I'm just not available. Told him I didn't
want my absence to hold up anything) but Twi volunteered to go
anyway. That way Iris will fully blame her instead if hating
Rock. Rock has enough on his mind :-)'.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!" the dark hunter screams as the blast slices through him, sending him back to the ground, his red aura still glowing brightly as he struggles to get back up. As he rises to one knee, he places his free hand on his arm cannon, "I said this wasn't over..." He slowly drags himself up into standing position, wobbling slightly. He snarls as he fights through the pain and sets himself into the ground and snaps his aim at the large monstrosity, "I will never cower before anything...especially your pitiful excuse for a lord!!!" he screams as his charging finally concludes, as the small gem studs that circle around his Zero Buster light up, "ZEEEEERROOO BUSTER MEGABLAST!!!"
*Krrrrraaaaacka-THOOOOOOOOOM!* An -immense- ball of charged plasma flies at the combined might of the Maverick field commanders. Zero just continues to stand there, set in his position, as sparks start to dance all over his frame from the strain, his armor already cracked and beginning to break. Yet on his face, is locked the expression of his rage, painless, concentrated hated...
Swing finally pulls his way out of the rubble, growling as he punches his way to the surface. "Now we're playing dirty....." he hisses, snapping his hand into an arm cannon and leveling a trio of plasma blasts at Bross.
"I SAID...." Dischord continues to scream, by this point her sword is completely black, and somehow more menacing looking when you add in the fact it's also now jagged, and longer than usual. "LEAVE HIM..." As she moves, any sign of pain, any sign of other emotions, anything besides the pure anger and hatred at this Maverick abomination for even touching Zero leaves her. Even as Dopplers blast hits her, she still doesn't change. All that exists for her right now is one thing, destroying Bross. "ALONE!!!"
In fact, as she comes by for another pass, the mercenary takes
yet another swing, this time emotionally incapable of holding
anything back.
harmony blade Bross
Bross shudders slightly as the Megablast hits home, a heavy step being taken aside. The twin heads of Bross shift to glare at Zero in perfect unison, silence reigning for a brief moment as the shattering Hunter is observed and studied. Broken though he is, he continues to fight. Such rage - Such rage indeed that would consume one's entire manner of thinking. It is then that Dischord's bellow shatters the abomination's train of thought. With a roar of surprise, the massive frame of Bross hauls itself around just enough for Dischord's pass to fail. "FOOL!" bellow the Monster in that eerie chorus, gaze once again jerking to Zero. He must be eliminated first. A clawed appendage rears up, concrete and dust pouring from it as it is send cutting through the air toward the blond haired Hunter.
Several buildings over, upon the roof...a figure stands, something held within it's arms. There is something strange to it's balance and pose...both the strict perfection for keeping itself and it's burden balanced...an endless swirl of color twirling around both.
Zero expects the maneuver and leaps forward, tumbling and tucking into a roll, ending up underneath the monolithic maverick. His body continues to crackle with electricity... but it's different this time... more concentrated. He grabs a hold of one of Bross' rear legs and lands on top of Bross, a ferocious snarl coming from him as he stares at Doppler, "Never.... -EVER-... touch her again..." suddenly the electricity begins to concentrate only on his arm as he grabs his sabre and ignites it. He charges at the doctor, his entire body flashing a bright yellow as he lunges straight at the doctor, the electricity becoming an enormous lance of power streaking out from his body. "LIGHTNING GOD'S FURY!"
Swing wrinkles his nose slightly as Bross reaches up to tear into Zero. The brave little Hunter almost stares in awe at the power of the giant, and does his best to keep the situation in check. Dashing up, the Hunter cartwheels forward to bring one of his giant boots over his head, and snaps it into the side of Bross.
Dischord just screams as she misses, letting out a pure blast of fustration filling the air. But then she snarls, and falls, going lower. As she falls though, she quickly lashes out with a kick once again, before she lands on the ground. "I said, LEAVE HIM!"
Dr. Doppler is knocked back hard but the boots keep him erect.
The charge fries some of his circuitry and the doctor just
blinks. "Grah...that smarts." He grits his teeth and
prepares to launch his ultimate fire attack when something else
comes to mind. "Wait...ahh yes.." He feels around his
various coat pockets in search for something and smiles as he
hears glass. "Aha." He immediately pulls out the tube
full of corrosive acid and throws it upon Zero's pretty face.
Iris goes over to start getting one of the other three medbeds
ready for arrivals. She's not a medic, but she does end up doing
this a lot..."...You -are- okay, aren't you? I could talk to
Doppler...after they're finished pummeling him maybe...and
convince him to leave you alone." a small smirk, "Well,
try anyway. But you know I woudln't -really- want you to be
hurt...right? You do know that?" she peers over.
Bross says, " gaze swivels to regard Zero's form. His dual voice seethes with hate as he swings around to face the Hunter, stopping Dischord with a wave that makes her bounce harmlessly off of a magnetic wall and ignoring Swing as he intones, "So it ends, Zero." The ring on his back glows and the center fills with a swirled black and white energy. It briefly coaesceses into a an ancient symbol before slamming through the air at it target along with Bross' cry of, "YIN YANG BLAST!!!""
Dr. Doppler unlocks the magnet boots so he can at least -try- and dodge Zero's attack this time.
And upon that building, a choice seems to be reached.
Abruptly, the figure drops, trailing streamers of rainbows behind
it in it's fall, and lands smoothly on the street. Still carrying
it's burden in hand, it begins to dodge towards the combat,
always moving with the exact mechanic precision needed to
maintain it's optimum balance . . . . and as it grows closer, the
truth of both figure and burden become clear.
The burden is actually another reploid, feline in rough shape,
hidden within the curls and coils of what appears to be rainbow
fabric.
The figure itself is another female reploid...but hideously
incomplete, the gaze blank and mindless. A set of wires jut from
the neck, just below the black hair, connecting the two together.
What strangeness /is/ this?
A wall. A magnetic wall stops Dischord. That figures. That just figures. "That's it!!!" she screams, her hand coming back, and something appears in her hand. "FOR THAT, YOU DIE!!!" she snrals, before trying to throw hte object of ultimate destruction at the gestalt.
Swing cranks his foot into Bross with all his might, and almost doubletakes when the behemoth does'nt even seem to blink at the motion. "Well...." he says, palming his baton into his other hand. "Guess we need to get some attention here....." he comments as he spits into his palm. Grapsing the cabonide pipe in both hands, Swing begins to hammer at Bross' thick plating over and over, attempting to damage /something/ under all that thick shielding.
Dr. Doppler rides on the back of Bross fighting Zero while the behemoth takes on Dischord and Swing, fire all around the area thanks to yours truely.
Zero blinks as the doctor throws the vial at him and leaps -at- him, planting his hand on the Doctor's head and spring forward, thankfully avoiding the blast from Byte as well. He falls to the ground near Byte's body and chuckles darkly, "It is unfortunate that you're too slow to hit me in your combined form... perhaps you should've stayed seperate...then perhaps your lives would have been spared!" He brings his sabre before him and cackles madly as he leaps back and over to land in front of Bross and looks up at him for a moment, the true madness and rage in his face can be seen quite clearly. His own life fluids leaking all over his broken and cracked armor. This is Zero in his most basic form...the ruthless...bloodthirsty...
Destroyer.
"Z-SLASH TECHNIQUE!" the Hunter screams as he leaps into the air as he brings his sabre back, "HOO!" he slashes across the top head of the behemoth. "HAA!" he begins to descend, slashing across the creatures body. "HYAAAH!" he swipes across the second head, as he lands with a loud *THUNK* on the ground, falling to one knee from the strain. His body shakes violently as the sparks continue to dance across his wounds, his hair is ruffled and awry... and his eyes still burn with the rage he was created with...the same rage that lead to the destruction of General...the same rage that lead to the destruction of Bass...and the rage that will one day, lead to the destruction of his best friend...
Seminole darts out of the teleporter, finally arriving in the city. It doesn't take long for him to find a nearly two story Maverick is batting, emitting a quiet sigh at the destruction. The Hunter quickly takes to the rooftops, darting along one after the other as he makes his way toward the center of the battle.
Bross is beginning to show signs of wear and tear now, Zero's multiple strikes doing more than enough to severly tear into them. Armor is creaking and cracking, sparks surging around the behemoth's frame. Enough ... Is Enough. Head rearing back in a hiss, Bross trembles under strain and then steadies itself. The same head bows, steam beginning to flow from it. "One time....I'd considered sparing you wretched Hunters ... But now -- You shall witness -- Their dismemberment!" The voice suddenly fueled by Orson Wells, Bross unleashes a flurry of both fire and acid in a particularly nasty combinatino toward the surrounding forces.
Dr. Doppler watches the path of the chemical tube go stray from it's target as Zero rolls away back down below. Doppler remains towering on top of the gestalt, gritting his teeth and looking down at the berserker. "Okay, that's it...your getting a bit routy, normally I would encourage such behavior...but in your case, it's directed at the wrong goal so...you die." Bross fires his Scorpio Burning Poison and Zero falls under the assault. Doppler snorts a bit amused. "See what I mean?"
Zero looks up at Bross defiantly as the blast heads his way, he makes no move to block in, and in a way, look as if he's embracing it. He stares up into the eyes of both of Bross' heads and just... laughs. He laughs hard, like a madman thrown from the cliff of sanity. As the blast strikes him, he falls back down to one knee and loosens his grip on his sabre, his crazed look of rage frozen on his face, as he falls to the ground, his sabre rolling to the side, as his body sparks no more. A few moments later, a pool of Zero's fluids begins to grow, as his body lies limply before the giant Maverick.
Swing leaps into the air, performing a stunning display of agility. The tiny Hunter vault head over heels, strikes of flaming acid searing his hair and armor. "ZERO!" he calls as he watches his friend and commander take a full shot from the assault. "Oh, that's it..." he snarls, electricity playing in his eyes. Raising his free hand up above his body and striking a pose, static electricity bursts from every point in his body, curling its way to focus on the club in his hand, which he points at Bross. "STATIC........" the Hunter intones as the capacitors blink to full charge and a ball of electric plasma forms at the end of the weapon. "BATON!!!!" he cries, releasing the force ball of energy at the heinous gestalt.
Just barely enough out of the range of Bross' attack, the reploids come to a stop briefly, before turning and heading around him . . . slowly angling to arrive by Doppler. From the bundle of fabric, the feline's voice shifts out the fabric. "Are you well, Sir?"
As she watches the gestalt lash out at Zero, the female Hunter is already in motion, her form swallowed up by a shadow before the mixture the moster fired reaches her. But as she reappears, she watches Zero get hit, and and fall, she snaps, again. Her sword returning to black. "GAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
<Within Hunter Meadbay...>
Twila Peterson is busy prepping medbay at the moment for any incoming patients. Although working at a steady pace her features appear strained as well as marked with worry and guilt. After making certain the sensors are prepared by the medbeds she heads over towards the cabinets to retrieve the proper medical instruments that aren't already out...
Iris stalks in, pausing at the entrance until she sees Twila. Then, hands on her hips, she stalks over and stands slightly behind and to the side of the human. "Grr. /Twila/?"
Twila Peterson jumps slightly but regains her composure soon enough. The tray is closed non-too gently as she responds without looking towards her, "Iris, now isn't the time. I have some prepping to finish up before the others get back." Whenever they get back...
Iris narrows her eyes. "I know. I came over to apologize," she sighs slightly, "You're right, I was very rude and selfish. I'm sorry Twila...Can I help you get stuff ready?"
Twila Peterson lets out a slow breath before nodding. "Yes," she answers, her tone losing it's edge. "Make sure the three beds over in the first row," she says pointing, "have their monitors on and their wires hooked in. I'm just about done here. That...would be the last of it." She pauses as if to reach for another tray before adding more quietly, "And...apology accepted."
Twila Peterson forces a bare grin as she obtains what she needs and brings over to the mobile tray she had set up previously. "I...know, Iris. It's...a nice thought. But Doppler won't listen." Whatever grin she had is soon lost. "I already know that for a fact. Even if he wasn't interested on using me for any experiments...he like all Mavericks want humans dead. They've killed to many humans as it is..."
Iris wrinkles her face and sets up monitors, "Sigma will change someday, you'll see...Its trying to get there thats the tough part." she plugs in some wires, "He and Zero have that much in common at least, they're both stubborn and narrow minded. Except one's evil and the others just arrogant."
Twila's already aware of Zero's arrogence, and she wouldn't deny it existed. There's no use dodging the truth. As for Sigma, "Until he does...you have to accept Sigma is dangerous. I know you care for him...but you have to think of others too...and hold Sigma accountable for his actions, not trying to excuse them. Under his command his minions have killed many of my own people...including my parents, as well as androids and reploids who have opposed him. And I can't forget that."
Iris slides over to another table and goes about setting it up. "I know. I sometimes wish people could understand that I -do- care for him, and I have hope for him. I know he will change someday, and as long as there is that small bit of hope thats all I need to keep me going. When I thought he was dead, I almost...Well, it was very hard for me. But now he's alive, and..." she grumps, "Of course, Zero hates me, and has been nothing but rude to me since Sigma came back."
Twila's brow creases as he she ponders. "Iris...I doubt he hates you. I'm...not sure what went on between you two since we last saw each other but I highly doubt that he does. Love doesn't go away like that. If he knows about you and Sigma...my personal thinking is he may more be deeply hurt than anything else...and is dealing with that the only way he knows."
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'Doc.. Zero... he's down....'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: '... Dis.... *click*'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: '*soft sigh* Medbay is ready for any incoming.'.
Iris sighs, "But Zero -knows- I love him more than anything, and differently than--.." a pause as she intercepts the radio message, and she stares wide-eyed at Twila.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: '*Automated Destress Signal* Unit W000 has been disabled due to sustaining heavy damage. Immediate retrival is highly recommended.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Quire transmits: 'Did someone call for a genius?'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'I'm grabbing Zero and we're pulling back, NOW!'.
(Ch. B [None]) Quire transmits: 'Did my little girl's boytoy get a booboo?'.
(Ch. B []) Swing transmits: 'Roger that, Seminole, I'll provide a distraction for us to bug out. Gimme a sec to set it up.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'This guy is going to DIE!!!!!'.
Iris is presently staring at Twila, but snaps out of it to finish hooking up another, the final, medtable. For now, she'll just bite her tongue. Zero doens't like when she gets upset.
Twila Peterson glances back towards Iris, holding her gaze...as if the she already suspected this would have happened. "He'll be fine once they get hom back here and work can be started I'm sure," she tries to reassure her. "And Iris, maybe you better let Zero know what you just told me." She then pauses at the chan chatter and refrains from a groan. Quire...great...everyone's favorite egotistical mad scientist. No, wait...that's Wily. Everyone's second favorite...
Iris plugs in some wires to the monitors, "He doesn't want to hear it. He got angry with me a few days ago for talking about 'mushy stuff'. Zero's a big boy, he knows what I think and how I feel." she sighs, "Oh come on, guys, get him back here already!"
Twila Peterson ponders that the two reploids may be having some sort of communication problem. She's about to respond but then notices another figure in the room. Ah, Quire...how nice to see you. Twila doesn't prevent herself from rolling her eyes at the sight but doesn't offer anything much too her. Although highly skilled, Quire's social and behavior skills need a bit of work. "I'm sure they're working on it, Iris..."
Iris gives Quire a glance too. She slumps a bit, and distracts herself by re-checking the medtable setups. "Well yes I know they are. That makes it okay, but it doesn't make it easier."
Quire laughs, "You can leave the blond berserker alone,
Iris. Dischord will see that he is... well taken care of. I'm
sure that's what she wants."
Twila Peterson glances back towards Iris. "They'll get here.
See...if taking deep breaths help." Of course, Iris is a
reploid and may not need to. Twila offers it anyway just in case.
Iris sits down in a chair. "...Well it doesn't, cause I don't breathe, really. But thanks, Twila, you're right. I can calm down, really. Maybe Zero'll even be happy if I'm not really really upset..." a pause. "Of course, he wont know, cause he's off-line."
Quire smiles, "No, dear, I've seen his type. They love it when you cry and makes a big deal out of them."
Twila Peterson offers after a brief pause, "I'm sure he'll be happy to know you were here and were concerned..."
Iris eyes Quire, "Then you don't know Zero very well, cause there are no 'types' like him, and he certainly -doesn't- like anyone making a big deal out of him being beaten and mangled by Mavericks..."
Twila Peterson crosses her arms in front of her chest and nods towards Iris. She's certainly seen Zero enough times in here to know what she speaks is true. After a moment she comments, "Just start learning not to hit anyone over the head with that idiotic stick of yours. It's not appreciated..."
Quire eyes Twila, "And you should know, your the expert on the subject of non-appreciation."
<Back at the field...>
Seminole lands nimbly on the final rooftop, arriving just in time to see Zero consumed by Bross' attack. The Hunter growls, jumping down from his perch and onto the street below. But rather than directly attack Bross, Seminole is heading straight for Zero at his top speed.
Dr. Doppler blinks a little skeptical of the latest addition to the party. He makes a quick scan up and down at the enigmatic reploids, their concern quite nebulous, especially with the undeserved reputation the Mavericks have with the general public. "Uhh...yes, a little smashed up from Zero but nothing especially fatal." Arching a thin silver brow, he reaches the imminent question. "Who are you?"
Bross abosorbs blow blows and staggers back. He slowly closes his eyes and immediately, a forcefield shimmers into place around him. He glances back to Doppler, "Doctor, your orders? The freak is subdued."
(Ch. B [None]) Quire transmits: 'He is not. Let me have a go at him and he'll be kissibly soft once again.'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'You're going to die if we don't pull out.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'GAHHHHHHHHH!!!'.
The human-like reploid doesn't respond to Doppler's words...expression completely blank and lifeless, for all that her eyes are focused upon him. The words, instead, come from the feline . . . who is still mostly hidden in fabric. "I am Oracle Ocelot, Sir...Doctor Doppler."
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Dischord, listen to Sem. Get back at the Maverick some other day. Just get out.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Quire transmits: 'I was going to watch a soap opera, but this is so much better. Bring him to the medbay and I'll put and end to the melodramatics.'.
Seminole slows on the approach of Zero, put keeps his momentum going as he reaches down to scoop up the fallen XO. Being a bit bigger than Zero has its advantages, as Seminole is able to pick up the fallen Hunter and flip him over his shoulder. Sem looks back at Bross for a moment, then darts back toward safer ground.
Swing moves up in front of Zero to face off against Bross. "Better scoop him up, Seminole," he calls over his shoulder. "I don't know how long I can hold this ox off."
This guy...This thing, hurt Zero. That's all Dischord is thinking of. All she wants to do is put him in pain. To hurt him like he hurt Zero. To her it doesn't matter if it's a gestalt, or that it's surrounded by a forcefield as she tosses her sword at it, the blade splintering into shards. No, all that matters is the emotional pain.
A bolt of energy lances from the shadows, cutting deep into the pavement directly in front of Seminole. The bold cuts a car in half and creates a laceration across the road. The ground glows super-hot around the newly formed ditch. From the origin of the bolt steps a powerful, broad figure, cape trailing gracefully behind him. "That's far enough," it states, not as a threat or command, but as a simple statement of fact. Sapphire eyes train on the fallen hunter on Seminole's shoulder. "Leave him, Hunter, save your life and go. This is my final warning." The figure extends his right hand, and energy pools about its palm, coalescing into a bubble of power. The energy lights the features of the reploid. Sigma has arrived.
Seminole stops several meters away from Bross, looking back at the Hunters as they attack the Maverick gestalt. The laser bolt takes him by surprise, as Seminole turns to face the Maverick leader. Sigma has arrived indeed, and this Maverick Hunter doesn't seem content to hand over Zero to him. "You can have him over my dead body, Sigma," he growls in reply, as Sem's arm cannon retracts from his free arm and begins charging.
Dr. Doppler sighs as Zero is taken off while the doctor watches as the other hunters continue their onslaught. "You have made me proud today Bross...proving yet again, that good triumphs over evil. You have surpassed what I expected of you, soon, we shall get the berserker once again... but for now, we are in no condition to continue. Besides..." He pauses and glances over to Ocelot. "Today has not been a -total- loss after all." A blinding flash catches his attention and he peers over to the power of his greatest creation, Sigma. "Ahhh...punctual is he not?" He smiles and nods to the ocelot. "There is my son now, fighting selflessly to save our hides. Perhaps, you can talk with him about...enlisting? I can already see that you sympathize with our cause newcomer. Oh what a brave new world it will be with such people in it."
Swing is about to dash after Seminole as he sees Bross hold is ground and comes up should to shoulder with Seminole. "Whoa." he stammers, seeing Sigma appear. "Uh, Seminole?" he asks, watching his fellow XO dash into the Maverick Leader. "Leaving now?"
(Ch. B [Civilian-Freq]) Iris transmits: 'Chi is on Standby, do you want him sent to help cover your retreat?'.
Oracle Ocelot nods, still secure within the grip of her companion...if that is what the other reploid can be termed. "That is what I would wish most dearly, Sir . . . and I hope my abilities, however limited they are, will be of use to the cause."
Seminole keeps his gaze locked on Sigma, even as Swing comes up to his side. His arm tilts toward the Tracker, gesturing for him to take Zero. "Run." Not a statement, but rather, an order. He holds his ground in front of Sigma,
Bross continues to rest there, the forcefield consumes any more damage delt for the time being and his voice echoes forth, "Of course, Father. The Hunter has fallen. We yet live. The day is won." He stirs, however, at the arrival of Sigma and his attention thus shifts. Around him, this portion of the city lies broken from both the battle and Doppler's earlier movement with the fire.
Swing waivers once - he's seen Seminole is parts far too often, but sees no other choice. Scooping Zero up easily in one hand, he slings the Berserker over his shoulder, and activates his dash jets, prepping for a speedy egress.
Dischord growls as she watches her attack do nothing, and she manages to catch Swing starting to get away with Zero. .oO(He's not dead...Oo.
In fact as she turns to look at Zero directly she notices Zero, and snarls. Sem was right, it is time to go.
(Ch. B [None]) Dischord transmits: 'I'm ready to go when you are.....'.
Sigma sighs, "My recent rebirth caused me to realize a few things, Seminole. I have been far too merciful. You and your allies will no longer stand between the Mavericks and their ascension. I will no longer allow it. I will no longer be weak." The bubble of energy explodes outward in a vastly destructive beam, slamming directly towards Seminole. The pavement beneath it liquifies into lava. The air burns around it, and its path is fixed upon the two Hunters. Sigma snaps his palm closed, smoke pouring from beneath his fingers. His eyes sparkle an unusual shade of emerald. "You've wasted your life."
Swing hoists Zero up on to his shoulder as he begins to attempt an escape past Sigma. "Hang in there, Zero. We're gonna get you back an online in no time." he offers, though he doubts Zero can hear him.
Bross watches his Lord direct His power upon those that defy him. He murmurs just loud enough to be heard, but you may only catch the tial end of the statement "... And you will know that Sigma is the Lord, when he lays he vengeance upon thee." The pride and honor on his face is nearly blinding.
Seminole can't move fast enough out of the way as the energy beam slams into him, sending the Hunter into the air. He slams through mailboxes, lampposts, trees, and the only thing that stops him is a parked car on the corner of the street. The vehicle itself nearly collapses in on itself after the impact, as smoke rises from the crater. With most of his chest armor melted, internals hanging out, and not looking too healthy, Seminole manages to rise out of the charred remains of the car. He wipes away a stain of mech fluid from his chin, and glares back at Sigma. "Why should I even care what you think?" he hacks out, then coughs as breathing becomes difficult.
Dr. Doppler watches the beam explode from Sigma and the cyborg smiles proudly, now that things are in hand... he can focus on other matters. His gaze shifts back to Ocelot. "So my dear, I am...honestly bewildered, what exactly caused a transition in your perspective on the world. Why would you leave your normal life and go...quote unquote, stray to the supposedly -evil- Mavericks. What made you see the truth?"
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'E.T.A.??'.
A slightly oversized hand emerges from the fabric, and Oracle pulls the fabric away from her head . . . . . revealing eyes that have never seen the light of day. "Believe me, Sir, when I have my reasons." Briefly, a hand reaches up and behind her, stroking along the female reploid's cheek. "My sister's death being only the key to my unavoidable choice."
Sigma looks levelly at Seminole, "Because, Hunter, I hold your fate in my hands. I gave you a chance to save your life, one which you refused. So now you are mine." The Maverick rushes forward, blinking in mind air. He reappears directly in front of Sem, hand out-stretched. The palm descends to grasp the Hunter's face and slam his skull into the car if it is successful. Sigma's eyes glow a brighter green now, like a pair of plague ridden gems. "I wish it had not come to this, but I see now that there is no other way."
Dischord just goes. Her concern is for Zero right now. Besides she did promise Twila that she'd head for the med bay.
Screen> Dr. Doppler makes agrim expression at the mention of her sibling's death. "The humans have much to answer, now that we have the power...they -shall- be crushed. I'm glad to hear you have chosen wisely, and found your priorities, unlike these...." He gestures to the direction of the hunters. "...misguided fools."
Oracle's expression unchanging. "Indeed...much is to be answered for." The female reploid's head turns, blank gaze staring at the finishing of the fight...and a faint smile graces Oracle's face. "Oh . . . he /is/ splendid..."
Seminole manages not to have his skull collapsed this time, catching Sigma's arm in mid air, attaching a tight grip on the Maverick leader's wrist. "Only one problem... I don't believe in fate," he snarls back, grabbing a hold of Sigma's waist with an equally tight grip. Being almost as big as Sigma has its good points, as Seminole tries to flip the Maverick leader over and onto the remains of the car.
Bross drops the energy shield with a waving gesture. With Lord Sigma in their presence, the shield is hardly necessary. And almost cowardly. Bross's scarred and blackened armor is proof that he fought valiantly for the Mavericks, but for the Bit part of Bross that seems hardly worthy. Bross paws the ground, deep ruts forming between his claws.
Dr. Doppler nods admiring Sigma. "Isn't he though? The
epitmoy of perfection... I worked long and hard to create
him." He shakes his head. "I...just don't know where I
went wrong with Colonel and General, why did they turn on us and
become devoured by the lies of the humans?" He places a fist
where his human heart once was. "I tell you...it pains me
gravely to see them stray from their destiny...with us."
Sighing, the cyborg watches Seminole retaliate defiantly. "I
pity him, but not to the extent where I would let him live... the
earth must be cleansed of all humans, and traitors, for betrayal
is truely the greatest sin of all."
<In the med center...>
Zero looks like he's seen better days, his black armor is chared and broken. Stained with his own fluids. Locked on his face is an expression of pure rage and hatred. THis apparently wasn't one of his better days.
Twila Peterson narrows her eyes...whishing dearly Quire would take some sort of attitude adjustment. But it would more than likely be too much to ask. She bites her tongue...holding in a measure of self-restraint and unfolds her arms as the injured starts to arrive. She starts heading over towards Zero's form as Swing arrives and set him down...already scanning his frame...although expecting Quire to sound of some of her ego any time now before she can begin working. "Swing...where's Sem and Disch...?" she asks in concern...
Iris looks up as the injured arrive, but she's visibly fighting her usual reaction. She gives in and scans Zero as well, and then Swing to see if he has an owwey or two as well.
Quire floats. still seated on her pillow, towards patient, "Ah, and this must be Mr. Pretty himself, the one my daughter's so gaga about. He doesn't look so pretty now, let's see if we can fix him up," Quire rummages in a small sack on her size and produces a large chemical bonding device which, oddly enough, is nearly three times larger than the sack she pulled it out of. Behold the wonders of video game physics. "Let's begin by patching up the locations where his fuel lines are torn... and then I'll work on his face and maybe trim a few pounds off of his thighs."
Swing straightens as he looks down at Zero. "Dischord is on her way. Seminole was still holding off Sigma while I made my escape." he offers. "Which is what I'm going to check on now."
(Ch. B []) Swing transmits: 'Seminole! All Hunters are accounted for here.'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'I'll join you shortly.'.
Twila Peterson nods quickly towards Swing and then sets down the scanner, already moving to hook up Zero's form to the monitoring devices regardless whether or not Quire is beginning to get ready to work on him. She'll have to be asked or moved out of the way before she's moved aside. "He just needs repaired...not a full make-over..."
Iris hrms at Swing's wounds, "Yours are quite minor, I have no doubt you need a touchup, but if there are any more severely damaged, you don't mind if we tend to them first?" she smiles lightly, "Anyone who needs repairs, Twila and I are here..."
Swing nods without even a thought. "Don't even worry about me. Zero there really took a beating to save the rest of us."
Dischord just floats on in, smiling. Sure the red on her armor has a slight black spot on it, and her hair looks slightly charred, but otherwise she looks alright, but concerned. "Zero?" the mercenary whispers as she looks around.
Quire nods, "But I can do both! Watch as Zero is reborn, newer, shinier, prettier, and just as obtuse as ever!" the tiny scientist snaps her fingers and a dozen techno-tendrils spring from her pouch, rearranging, replacing, and mending parts on the blond Hunter. Lightning crackles between the many working appendages as they set to the surgery. Quire, meanwhile, directs them with her keyboard, "The hip-joints connected to the axial rotator, the axial rotator's connected to motion drive, the motion drive's connected to the power generator, and now the funny bone."
Twila Peterson narrows her gaze slightly, dipping her chin in agreement with Iris before stating, "Well, Dischord's supposed to be looked at too," she states absently before making the final connection between Zero and the monitors. She then begins the process of removing some of the amror off of the more damaged areas in order to start working on the major leaks to prevent more fuel loss. She then jumps back with a startled yelp as the appendages begin their own work. Making her...obsolete. "Sheesh...warning next time..." she grumps...as she bumps into Dischord, not knowing she was there.
Quire snickers as she continues her merry work, "But it's so fun when it's a surprise. Now watch as I complete the re-" Quire looks down at her beeping monitor, "Uh-oh."
Iris rolls her eyes at Quire and after a quick glance, shrugs at Swing, "It looks like my Prince Charming was the one to come out of this the worst. Maybe I should just take care of cleaning you up, while Zero is handled by other...hands." .oO(I will not get upset, Zero is fine. Darn it, Zero, leave it to you to be off-line while I--'ut oh'?!)Oo. No, I will not worry, GRR I hate not worrying!"
<Sydney...>
Oracle Ocelot nods, even as the other reploid's eyes continue to track the fight, completely without expression. "Yes . . . betrayal . . . " A soft hiss touches Oracle's voice at the word, but otherwise, no change of emotion, body posture, or expression is visible. "But redemption /might/ be possible for some."
Dr. Doppler snorts skeptically at Ocelot. He frowns and watches the rest of the Hunters retreat. "Look at them...run like vermin at the truth inherent in Sigma. They scurry back to their lairs like insects, afraid of the light. Look how they leave their companion so helplessly, they -have- no loyalty...they -have- no honor, all they have is their tainted souls. Indeed, to side with the humans, is to be damned."
No matter how much mass and strength Seminole may have it does not substitute one precious fact, the Maverick Commander can fly. He soars into the air, out of the Hunter's grip, and rises about twenty feet above the soldier. "It is not fate I speak of, it is superiority and the right of the greater race to rise above the weaker." Sigma draws his hands pack in an odd chi gather formation in front of his face. His fore-arms launch half a dozen energy boomerangs into the air. The messiah's face crumples in concentration as he directs the blades mentally. The zoom down, cutting into the street and disappearing. Moments later they cut through the ground around Seminole, swarming in a cloud about the Hunter. They cut through the car, a street lamp, and anything else in their path. At random intervals they stab forward to cut at Seminole, "I speak of what is inevitable."
Oracle Ocelot says, "But some may come to see the truth...if memory is removed." A faint smile again. "...self-sacrifice, always an interesting concept. But none may withstand the truth, in the end."
Dr. Doppler strokes his chin. "Perhaps... but deleting ones memory is to delete their life, delete everything about them. A persona is defined by that beings experiences through their lifetime, without it...the persona is destroyed. Technically they would be among the living, but in reality... they would be as good as dead. All that's left is a shell of what they once were."
Seminole stands in the mist of the cloud, as the blades zip out and slice at his armor and wounds without mercy. A gash on his leg, a slash to his arm, a chip off his helmet, another piece carved from his chest armor. Realizing he has to move quickly, Seminole covers his face with his hands and leaps out of the cloud, rolling along the pavement a few times before coming to a stop below Sigma. The Hunter looks up, knowing he's fighting a losing and pointless battle. The other Hunters are safe, and he's only signing a death warrant by fighting Sigma alone. With little time to discuss anything else with the Maverick Commander, Seminole darts away, heading back toward the teleport chamber with as much speed as his injured body can handle.
Oracle Ocelot smiles softly. "Then, perhaps, my skills /will/ be of use. All data can be manipulated into the...most advantageous form."
Bross looks toward the Superiors in the area, "We depart ... While we are still capable of movement, Father ... Lord Sigma." Thus said, the beast turns and likely demerges for travel.
Sigma makes now move to stop Seminole, "A wize
choice." He grunts as he wills the boomerangs out of
existence, lowering to the ground.
Dischord blinks and doesn't really move as she's bumped into,
"Ummm... I something wrong Doc?
Dr. Doppler simply nods to Bross. "I shall see you shortly, repairs are in order."
<Elsewhere...>
Seminole staggers into the medbay, looking pretty beat up. Most his chest armor has melted, the components either damaged themselves or hanging in by a thread. The rest of his armor is cracked and slashed, with deep gashes on both legs and one of his arms. Sem stands in the entranceway for a moment, looking about the medbay, then proceeds to fall down face first. *CLUNK* Mech fluid pools around the Hunter, though he's still alive judging from the painful groan he emits.
Twila Peterson glances away from Zero's bed for the moment to look at where the *CLUNK* orginated. "Someone...get Seminole into the next bed." Since Quire is the one wanting to work with the bsereker she turns her attentions towards the other downed officer and heads over towards that table.
Dischord blinks, grumbles, having no clue what's going on anymore and helps with Sem .
Quire calls off her repair arms, "All done, all shiny, all new, all improved. Behold!" Quire floats away from the newly repaired berserker, "IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIVE!!!"
Twila Peterson shakes her head and activates one of the drones...or was about to until Sem is deposited on the bed so he can at least be tended and straight away begins hooking him up to the monitors...much as she had done for Zero moments before. "Thanks, Disch. Looks like you'll have to wait a little before I can check on you..." After a quick scan she then begins working on him...dampening his pain sensors and then starting on the most damaged first. "Just relax, Sem...you'll be ok."
Dischord smiles faintly at Twila and nods, "Sure thing...." But then as she hears Quire, she stops, and spins, glaring at the shorter Android. Upon seeing Zero under her care though, she freaks. "Just /what/ are you doing!?!?!"
Twila Peterson chances a glance over her shoulder soon after Quire does her Dr. Frankenstien impression...not voicing how close to the scientist the human feels she is...
Seminole reaches up with his remaining good arm to remove his helmet, and places it on a nearby table. He nods to Twila, trying to peek over at what Quire is doing to Zero.
Just as the repairs complete themselves, Zero's eyes jolt to life as he suddenly scrambles wildly, flailing his arms about. "YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIE FOR THIS!" he screams as he reaches frantically for his sabre, rolling off the table and landing on the ground with a loud *THUD* as he does so. If he was a dog, his mouth would be frothing right now. He looks around madly, blind to what is really there, and ignites his sabre with a resounding *bzzt* "Grrrrr....where did he go...where is Dischord...I WASN'T FINISHED WITH MY JOB!!!"
Iris looks up sharply from her work as she hears Zero. She whines lightly and turns back to whatever she was doing, -away- from Zero. Trying, quite obviously, to not get upset. She -can- keep that promise, even if it doesn't mean anything to him, it would to her.
Twila Peterson turns fully around from her work on the reploid officer and just...blinks. "Zero...front and center..." she states with a sigh.
Zero turns around and just -stares- at Twila for a moment, snarling. His body heaving heavily as he swings his sabre around madly. He stands there for a moment in his crazed rage, staring. His fingers twitch as if he was about to leap at her and tear her limb from limb. However, after a few moments, he blinks his eyes, and starts to calm down a bit. As a gumby tries to approach him and places a hand on his shoulder, he grabs him by the collar and tosses him across the room. "Just...leave...me... alone..." he looks around the room once more, and then turns towards the exit, and starts to walk out.
Dischord just blinks, and stands there watching Zero as he awakens. Finally though she does whisper something. A single word. "Zero...."
Seminole's eyes widen, as he does his best to stand should he have to contain Zero. That doesn't quite work out, as he gets only as far as sitting up before his injuries stop the Hunter. He sighs quietly at the Hunter XO, relaxing a bit as most of the excitement passes.
Iris workworkworks. "...He'll be fine, Twila." she smiles over at the human, "If he needs repairs, he'll come back when he calms down."
Twila Peterson presses her lips together and turns away...getting ready to get back to work on Sem, letting the beserker be. Before she does, all she says to Zero is, "Thanks, for helping to see I'd be ok."
Zero stops at the door and pauses for a moment and says, "Yeah... whatever, just doing my job." he says softly and then continues to walk out. "I'm going to find my brother," is all he says afterwards, and disappears down the hall.
Quire looks at Dischord, "And you love this crazy smuck why?" She rolls her eyes, "Big baby."
Roll pauses as Zero passes by her again. This is getting monotonous, quickly. "Hey, bro!" She yells, trying to catch up.
Twila Peterson hisses out quietly, "Shuddup, Quire..." but doesn't add anything more.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Zero: "Thanks regardless."
Zero sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Like I said, don't worry about it."
Dischord just blinks, and growls at Quire... "SHUT Up. Mother!" And with that, she to turns, and starts towards the exit, her promise to Twila slipping from her mind for the moment.
Quire lies back on her pillow, pink hair spilling over the edge, "No one's ever grateful to be repaired around here...or created."
Seminole lies back down, ignoring most of the other chatter about the room. "His brother," he murmers, pondering that for a moment before shaking his head at his own answer. "Bass.."
Twila ignores the scientist as she simply concentrates on
Seminole, not offering anything more than what she already has...
