Command Center <Hunter HQ>
Zero shrugs, "Not really, I was about to go hit the training room and go through a few quick sessions and then head off for a rest cycle."
Twila Peterson quietly emerges from the grav lift and steps into the command center, pausing only to peer about to who's present and who is not. At least Kyo happens to be resting herself at the moment...so the young woman doesn't have to be worried the cabbit will find her way back in here. She needs to take it easy for a day or so. Thankfully, she's been doing just that.
Michael Eildath hrms. "Training, eh? I could use a bit of exercise, too, now that you mention it."
Zero smirks, "Hey, your welcome to join me, I might teach you a thing or two, eh?" he says with a slight chuckle. As Twila arrives he casts his glance over at her and smiles, "Hey Twi, what's up? Sorry to hear about Kyo, I plan on giving Bass a good wholloping for what he pulled."
Michael Eildath nods, rising. "Sure thing." He turns. "Oh, hi, Twila."
Twila Peterson stops by a terminal as she's addressed. "Hi Zero, Mike. And, nothing much is up at the moment actually. Just went down to check on her a few moments ago. She's presently asleep. Wouldn't put it past her to be zooming around the labs again at mach 5 come Friday tho." She offers a slight shrug. "Would have suggest reporting Bass to the International Humande Society...but doubt it do any good.'
Zero snorts, "I'm gonna do more than just report him, if I have it my way." he snarls as he remembers that he's got a little more than just that to fuel the fires for the hatred he has for his 'little brother'. He stands up from his chair and says, "If you want, you can come along with me and Mike, I'm gonna run him through some quick training sessions, I can run you through some as well if you want."
Twila Peterson blinkblinks a little in surprise towards the offer...but nods nontheless. "Sure. Could use a little help," she responds gratefully. "Playing the 'helpless' damsel in distress does happen to get somewhat tiring after awhile."
Swing steps in from the garage, wiping his brow of sweat from a hard day's patrol.
Zero chuckles, "Yeah, I'm sure it does, well, let's get a move on then." he then pauses as Swing and Dischord now enter, and he pauses and says, "Well, you two wanna tag along too? We can make a full production out of this." he says with a grin, at least pleased that the Hunters will be doing something other than counting the cracks in the ceiling.
Dischord just slowly hovers out of the tel chamber, not bothering to even say anything. Physically she just looks out of it, her hair's unkempt, her clothes are covered in mud, and her face actually is covered in grease.
Swing perks up slightly. "Tag along?" he echoes. "What's happening?" he asks in his friendly yet muted manner.
Twila Peterson starts moving away from the terminal and back to the lift. She offers one of the newcomers a shrug while staring at the apperance of the other. "Training session, Swing." She then blinks towards the female. "Uh, Disch...you...alright?" She looks as if she's been through a good dose of mudwrestling. Knowing her may not be far from the truth.
Swing ohs as he steps forward. "Training sounds good." he adds, standing a bit taller.
Zero blinks at Dischord as well and just stands there in silence for a moment, "Uh, Woman? You doing okay there?" he inquires, as he looks over at Swing and nods, "You guys can go on ahead if you want and get ready, I'm gonna put you through some hell on earth." he says with a wink and a smile, before returning his attention to Dischord.
Michael Eildath nods, and heads down.
Swing nods once with the dip of his chin and follows Mike.
Zero just looks blank, and sighs and nods, "Alright..." He stands there for a moment in silence before turning around and heading for the gravlift himself, "C'mon Twi, we got some stuff to teach you."
Twila Peterson just...offers another blink towards her. Um...yeah, right. "If...you say so," she tells the reploid femme in some confusion as moves to join the others. .oO(Oooooooooookay....)Oo.
<Soon...>
Training Room
Unlike the rest of Hunter HQ, this room is decidedly more
utilitarian than decorative. Heavily reinforced walls and ceiling
that are capable of absorbing nearly anything hurled at them
block any noise from being transmitted to the rest of the base.
There are no windows, just the walls and harsh lighting from
receded fixtures along the ceiling. Various equipment for
sparring or combat training is stored in cabinets at the far side
of the room.
Michael Eildath walks in, humming as he finds training
versions of his weapons.
Swing flips once, just to gets the kinks out of his knees.
Zero steps into the training room and punches a few buttons on a console near the door, "Alright folks, just a few ground rules. I'm gonna work you hard, but if I'm working you too hard, just say 'stop' and I will. I'm not here to kill you. I just wanna make sure you're all on your toes." he says with a bright smile. He looks over at Twila and reaches into a pocket in his armor and pulls out a small beam dagger and tosses it at her. "I'm gonna give you some special lessons, Twi. It's about time you learned a few more things about self defense, we can't be there for you all the time, and I'm sure you want some space to yourself. So it's best you know how to protect yourself at least rudimentary in the case of something bad happening."
Dischord sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I'm about as fine as someone can get after spending the last 19 hours in a bar, because.. Well never mind that. The bar itself makes your average war zone look like paradise."
Swing nods to Zero, shaking his long blue locks once as a muted grin comes to his face. He falls into a simple combat posture.
Zero chuckles, "Now then, who wants a quick warm up with me to start things off." he says with a sly grin, as he reaches for his sabre.
Twila Peterson, unfortunately, doesn't have much of a version of a weapon other than a form of taser which she had been given to use save for being out on the field. She doesn't have it with her although, she's already aware the training room would have it's own version of it should it be needed. This is what she thinks on as she also walks into the room. She's not clad in anything other than what she would normally wear either. Rock has been giving her some lessons...although with his schedule they really have been few and far between.
Ad the dagger is tossed over towards her she cathes the hilt easily enough, studying it slightly with a small nod. "Thanks," she muses...and stands by the wall as Mike and Swing get ready. After all...her training is defensive she thought...not offensive.
Swing steps up, palming his nightstick into his right hand, waving to Zero. "I'll give it a go." he offers.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dischord: "*wince* Um...ow?"
Michael Eildath takes the time to start limbering up, going through a series of brief exercises before engaging in any activities. He watches the others.
Dischord sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Yeah, well I'm just going to go get washed up, and go to Bast's place."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dischord: "Just...take care of yourself out there, alright?"
Zero grins, "Alright then, Swing." he strikes a rather impressive defensive stance as he ignites his sabre with a echoing *bzzzzzt* that rings through the large room. He holds up his free hand and gives the 'come get some' gesture and says, "Your move." After which he tightens his position as he locks his gaze on Swing's movements, if there's one thing Zero takes seriously, it's combat.
Dischord sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Fine. Whatever. Maybe I'll get lucky and run into Guts Man. Maybe his singing would help."
Swing nods once to the commander and begins to circle to his left, keeping Zero's sabre on the far end. With a twitch of the shoulder and burst of speed, Swing takes three steps in and slides, a staticky energy trail behind him as he attempts to curl his foot around Zero's and knock him off balance.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dischord: "No reason to torture yourself."
Dischord sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "It's all I can do right now."
Twila Peterson keeps an eye on the two as she distractedly gazes at the dagger she was given and activates it, pondering how some of the simularites there are to one of the instruments she uses in her work. She deactivates it again after a moment while in thought.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dischord: "I'm open for an ear if you should need one when you get back."
Dischord sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Thanks, Doc."
Zero blinks as Swing takes him by surprise and begins to fall to the ground, only to plant his hands on the ground as he falls backwards and handsprings himself into a backflip, landing on his feet and smiling. "Not bad, Swing, not bad, maybe I'm the on who should be taking lessons from you, eh?" He re-ignites his sabre and engages his dash boots, streaking towards Swing, suddenly cutting to a halt a few feet away from him and sliding underneath his feet and popping up behind him, slashing down across his exposed back.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dischord: "Just...take care. Kay?"
Dischord sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "I will. Maybe I should go visit Kyo later..."
Rock wanders into the training room, giving a little stretch. He woke up not long ago, apparently having been run ragged the day before by Mavericks. "Hey guys," he says.
Swing snaps his spine in order to get up from the ground, amazed at Zero's speed, despite his attack. Still, he manages to get his nightstick up in the way of Zero's sabre, and the two meet in a shower of sparks. Reversing his grip on the handle of the club, he cranks the weapon across Zero's chest, allowing him to gain more of an even footing with the vaunted berserker.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dischord: "She's currently in the room resting. I'm sure she's be happy to see you tho."
Twila glances up from her conversation with Dischord via radio and offers a mock salute with a hand holding the deactivated blade. "Hey."
Zero snaps out quickly with his hand to grab a hold of Swing's weapon as he swings it and looks over at Rock briefly and smiles and gives him 'the nod' "Wassup Rock!" he calls out before going back to what he was doing. He takes
Swing's arm and spins around with it, and then shoves, in an attempt to take him to the ground forcefully.
Rock erks at the saltue, shaking his head. "I don't think you'll ever stop saluting me, will you, love?" He walks forward, watching the four Hunters. "So... what's going on?"
Michael Eildath looks up from his exercises. "Oh, hiya boss."
Dischord sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Can do. Gotta go talk to an old friend first though. If I can find her."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dischord: "Tried a web search on her?"
Rock shrugs a little at Zero, leaning back against a wall. "Not much," he says, and cracks his shoulder joints.
Dischord sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Oh, I know where she lives and works. The thing is, will she be there."
Swing seems to anticipate the move an instant before it would have knocked him to the floor. Going with the flow of Zero's tug, he flips over the weapon and over Zero as well. Attempting capitalize on his position, Swing reaches out with his other hand and sends a high jolt of electricity through the baton still in Zero's grasp, hoping to catch him off guard.
Twila Peterson offers a slightly mischievous grin in reply towards Rock, having lowered her hand by now. "Um...no. Not really," she states in response...wincing a bit at those joints. "You're needing another massage, I can tell. You're sounding as bad as Rick does..."
"Bwah!" Zero exclaims in surprise as he gets a slight jolt from the weapon and hops back, falling into a backwards roll and springs up into a backwards leap as he reforms his arm into his Zero Buster and charges it briefly. "Jeez, Swing, you need to take it easy on us old timers." he says with a chuckle. As he lands he lets loose the medium power blast at his fellow hunter, hoping that he'll finally get a hit in.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dischord: "Best wishes on finding her."
Rock smirks across at Twila. "That or a nice, long soak in a hot bath. Or both," he replies to the auburn-haired girl, glancing back over at Zero. "Having problems, Bro?"
Zero looks over at Rock and snerks. "Yeah, yeah, just gettin a little rusty, why don't you work on getting Mikey some training while I work on Swing, then we can both work on Twila. I'm gonna need some help with her anyhow." he states, as he snaps his attention back over at Swing.
Swing blinks once as Zero seems to give him a compliment, but there is no chance for him to dodge the incoming assault of power. As the shot peppers his form, he coughs and lands on one knee. "Old timer, eh?" he grins, snapping his arm out into his own small arm rifle. "You look fine to me." he calls, sending out his own parade of plasma bolts.
Rock hmms a little, glancing over at Mike and reaching up to push a bit of his bangs out of his eyes. "If Mike's up for it, I guess so..."
Twila Peterson smiles innocently as well as a little shyly. Although, she does idley wonder if reploids really need massages. They don't really have muscles that can bunch up and form themselves into knots. Still, might be the gesture itself. Who knows? Her thoughts drag themselves back to the room as Zero suggests both he *and* Rock work on her? Oh, dear...what did she just agree too? Outwardly she doesn't display her thoughts except by a raised eyebrow.
Hmmm....maybe her medical skills will be some help as she learns how to use this...blade...
Zero gets assaulted by the blasts and takes a few steps back. "Augh...darn you're a lot better than I expected, Swing..." he reaches for his sabre again and swings it around a few times through the air and sets himself into the ground, "Get ready... cuz I'm not holding back!" Suddenly without any more warning he dashes forward again, only to the side of swing, only to skid to a halt near him and announces. "Z-Slash Technique!" he then slides straight across, slashing across the top of Swing's chest, spins, and swings diagonally down and across his chest, and then finally lashes out as hard as he can along his waist in a one armed baseball like swing.
Michael Eildath stands, working a crick out of his neck with a nice dramatic crackle. "Okay, I suppose I can get my hinder handed to me by the chief." He pulls out his pistol.
Rock chuckles at Mike, stepping out toward an empty area of the training arena. Still a tad groggy, his form glows as his Megaman armor flashes in and snaps into place. "Woo... I doubt I'll hand it to you, but... we'll see," he says, his left hand sliding into his forearm, clicking as the Buster is formed.
Twila Peterson hmphs as her ears overhear Mike's own little orchestra. "What is it with you guys...sound like your own band section..." she slightly mock-grumps.
A flash of light-blue light emits from Rock, who leaps back and stands with his left arm outstretched. Starting at his feet, a blue energy washes up and around his body; as it passes, it leaves his Megaman armor covering him. Finally, the energy coalesces into his hands, forming his helmet, which he slams into place, the seal of his neck armor locking closed.
Swing almost panics under the scream of Zero and Swing desperately falls backward into a tumble, not even taking a chance at blocking such a maneuver. As he flips on to his knees, he raises his arm cannon again, holding it with the other arm for support and snaps off a small projectile, which quickly expands into a giant wire mesh net, flying at Zero. He only hopes it can contain that deadly sabre as well.
Zero's sabre, thankfully manages to cut through -something- and that being the net that flies in his direction. He shoots Swing a slightly crazed look and grins, "Doin good, Swing... doin good." He then starts cutting the distance between him and swing as the arm that holds his sabre begins to crackle with electricity. Little sparks dancing across his sabre and and arm as he continues to advance, as he cuts the distance to but a few feet he suddenly lunges forward with his dash jets. "Lightning God's Fury!" is exclaimed as suddenly his entire body flashes a bright yellow and his sabre extends into a large lance of electricity aimed right at Swing's midsection.
Michael Eildath smirks. "Would you like to go first, or shall I start it?"
Swing holds his ground this time, planting his feet and attempts to dispel the electric assault by emitting a burst of oppositely charged particles from his own internal static battery. It seems to pay off, as the bolt dissipates about his body. With a slight grimace of satisfaction, Swing closes the short distance and snaps his baton across the width of his body, repeating the action several times in a display that would have been considered police brutality in his earlier years.
Rock gives a light bow to Mike. "You may go first."
Zero throws up his arms to try and block the assault but to no avail. "Sheesh, man!" He plants a foot on Swing's chest and shoves him off of him and shifts his arm back into his buster and begins to glow a bright red, "Man, this is tougher than I thought... alright then... you wanna play hardball... we'll play hardball..."
Swing's eyes go wide as the assault builds up. "Ah, geez." he mutters. Once again into the breach, Swing balls up his combat gauntlet and hammers at Zero's chest.
Michael Eildath nods, and dashes in a more-or-less random direction, trying to keep a good distance between himself and the leader. His pistol already in hand, he lines up a shot, confident enough to fire on his boss because he knows this gun's only firing simulated bullets anyways.
Zero takes the hit in stride and takes a step back, only to reset himself into the ground and aims his buster at Swing's chest as his body now glows a very bright red. His eyes flare as he suddenly let's loose a full powered blast, "Zero Buster Megablast!"
Rock steps his Buster into simulation-mode, and spins after Mike, sidestepping the shot from the pistol. Legs pumping, sending the armored hunter toward Mike, he grins a little, and lets out a small, pellet-shot from his own weapon.
Swing ducks as fast as he can, trying to get inside the giant attack. Pushing Zero's buster to the side, Swing tries to plant a foot on his chest, then rocks back, attempting to flip him over. Despite the movement, Swing's whole form glows under the intense heat.
Zero goes flying through the air, and slams into the wall upside down, in a classic anime style sprawled out position, before sliding to the ground, "Guh... medic..." *klonk* He picks himself up and recollects his composure and grits his teeth, starting to job towards Swing, which then eventually becomes a outright charging run. As he nears him, he ducks down a little as his arm and sabre burst into flames, "Rising Dragon Blade!"
Twila Peterson silently facepalms to the side with a slight grin...
Swing again holds his ground, despite the assault. As Zero nears, he snaps his right arm to the side in a chopping motion, and lifts his leg, snap kicking at
Zero recovers quickly from his failed attack and slams his hands down on Swing's foot to prevent himself from getting knocked in the jaw and then falls backwards, pulling Swing along with him and trying to send him running off balance into the wall. "Ugh, maybe this training idea wasn't such a good idea..."
Twila Peterson keeps her mouth shut...knowing her own training is coming up soon enough...
Michael Eildath pulls his jacket back, taking the blast as best he can, skidding back towards a wall. Dropping his pistol back into his holster, he pulls out a grenade, tossing it out with a flourish... whether it hits or not is the question.
A small pellet-blast fires out of the Buster, exploding the grenade in mid-air long before it reaches the Blue Bomber. Checking himself for a moment, he hmms, and dashes forward. Grabbing at Mike's collar, he rears his head back, and tries to bring his helmet into the forehead of the other Hunter.
Of to the side...the lone human spectator watches...and winces. Just who for...is uncertain.
Twila Peterson .oO(That's Rock using his head...)Oo.
[OOC] Michael Eildath baps Twila.
[OOC] Twila Peterson ows
Swing staggers as his kick is diverted and has not chance to get his defenses in place as Zero plucks him from his spot and leads him into the wall. Bouncing neatly off the surface dazes him, but his battery perks up and clicks with *bleep*, signifying the capacitor is ready. Lifting his weapon above his head, he begins to spin it, faster and faster. Soon the metal pipe begins to crackle with electric power, and the motion becomes a blur, forming an almost glowing disc of sparks. As Swing braces himself, he cranks the revolving weapon to full charge. "STATIC BATON!!!" Uttering the words, he casts the weapon at Zero, the humming electric disc creating a vacuum behind it in its wake.
Michael Eildath staggers backwards, reeling from the feel of the helmet. .oO (Good thing this is simulated.)Oo. Mike thinks vaguely, (Or I think I'd be in the ER again.) Shaking his head to little effect, he reaches around and pulls out a nightstick... at this range, there's not much else he can do, as he dashes towards his leader, trying to thwack him a good one.
Zero gets knocked back by Swing's assault and stumbles over his own feet and falls on his aft. He quickly recovers however, and leaps into the air, drawing his sabre once more. As he comes down on top of Swing he points his sabre down as both of his arms and sabre are encased in a large spike of ice as he calls out, "Faling Ice Strike!"
Rock brings up the Buster Arm, sticking it in the way of the nightstick; the sound of wood against plasteel making a dull thunk, as Rock leaps back, landing on the wall with his feet and then pushing off, flying through the air toward Mike. Suddenly, a... CANE? slides out from his Buster. "CANE WHACK!" he cries, trying to whomp Mike with Wily's stolen cane.
Swing seems to sees the attack, and seems a bit more confident as his weapon returns to his hand. Waiting, waiting, he sets his feet as Zero descends, and fires and uppercut as Zero closes in, just avoiding the slice of the deadly weapon.
Twila Peterson openly blinkblinks towards the Blue Bomber and just....peers. "Oh, brother..."
Zero gets knocked for a good one in the jaw by Swing's fist as he stumbles backwards a bit again. He frowns, but quickly regains his composure again. He takes a moment to take a breather as he hops backwards quickly, and then... strikes a pose?!
Zero strikes Swing with his Looking Good attack.
[OOC] Rock falls over.
[OOC] Twila Peterson just...facefaults
Swing runs up to counter Zero's attack but....stops. My - that /is/ a fine looking reploid. Waitaminute! What's he thinking?
Michael Eildath is swatted, falling backwards and blinking out of his combat trance. "The heck?" He blinks. "A cane?" Now snapped out of his typical state of mind, the most he can do is try and trip Rock up.
Zero finishes fixing his hair and flashes that suave smile of his and then suddenly charges at Swing again, "Never let down your guard, Swing!" he cries out, as he reaches for and ignites his sabre in one fluid motion, as he approaches Swing he slashes acros his chest twice in an X formation.
Rock gets tripped, and lands with a metallic thunk on the ground; his Buster begins to hum under him, and he rolls away. Coming up to his feet, he grins at Mike. "A little present I borrowed from Wily," he says, adept at idle chatter during battle. Grabbing his Buster elbow, he braces, and fires a spiraling green-white energy blast.
Swing chokes as he staggers back, his armor opening up to the energy weapon. Choking on the simulated alarms in his head, he tries to hold his ground. In a crude but quick clubbing motion, Swing tries to bring his weapon down on Zero's shoulder.
Zero reaches up with his hand quickly and grabs a hold of Swing's arm before he can bring the club down on him and raises his other hand and waggles a finger, "Tsk tsk.. too slow, my friend." he then brings up his foot and plants a firm straight kick at the other Hunters midsection.
Michael Eildath rolls quickly, paling as the shot slams into the floor where he just was. As he rolls, he pulls his Incinerator Rifle free, both making his rolling easier (it was on his back) and getting it ready to use. He starts to reenter his combat state, and smirks darkly as he fires a gout of simulated flame at Rock.
Swing breathes slowly now, each attempt to fill his vent systems a labored act. "May be....slow, but still........here!" he cries, ratcheting his fist across his body at Zero.
Twila Peterson crosses her arms in front of her chest while maintaining a hold on the hilt, keeping a watch on both pairs. She somewhat wonders of thought if Dr. Light didn't add this room on simply so the boys would be able to "rough house" while indoors and not brake anything...
Rock yikes! audibly at the flame washing out toward him, ducking and covering his face, crossing his arms in front of him as the flame washes over him, scouring him and obscuring him from view. For a few moments, anyway; the Hunter CO leaps from the blaze to the tune of an odd Japanese song, blaring within his own head. The sound of a blade sliding out of a sheathe comes, and the X-Blade is revealed as he streaks down toward Mike.
Zero takes the punch and stumbles back a bit, wiping some bloodlike fluid from his mouth, "Guh, nice one, Swing..." he hops back a few feet and reforms his arm into his Zero buster to cover his escape and give him some time to recover. A few low powered blasts fire off from the arm cannon, as the Hunter XO continues to withdraw, apparently Swing's done a good job in putting the smack down on him.
Michael Eildath blinks as he's severed. "Well..." he says, "It looks like simulator doesn't know how to respond to a human getting halved." He pauses. "Feels right, though. Oh." Mike drops.
Swing staggers as well, his hair tousled about his face. Still, he manages to throw up a small field of electricity to absorb the blows. Weathering his way through, he's not about to let Zero get back to recouperate - his mistake last time. With a mountain of motivation, Swing takes three quick steps and leaps into the air, snapping both of his legs across Zero's midsection in a stultifying scissors kick.
Twila Peterson montones am "Ow?" while shifting focus towards Michael as he's...um...cleaved. "Simulated Band-Aid?"
Rock hops back a bit, nodding a little at Mike. "I'm sure Bass wouldn't have any problems using this same tactic. And... I can vouch, cleaving in half is not a fun experience."
Zero throws his arms forward between Swing's legs as he flies at him and snaps them out to spread his legs out as he leaps at him, as he practically straddles Zero's chest he falls backwards and rolls with it. He then pushes Swing off with the momentum, springing him towards the wall again, and continuing to roll ending up with him in a standing position.
Noise walks in from the recreation room, a streak of opaque running underneath his eyes, a definite sign of fatigue. His casual clothes are smeared with burns, tears, and several oils. Goggles rest on top of his forehead, directly underneath his hairline while black rubber gloves conceal his hands. He peers into the room, not wanting to really get noticed, sweeping his vision around to those gathered, just idly wondering why everyone is here.
*crunch* Swing falls to the ground and this time he doesn't get up. "Ooooh." he growls as his systems indicate his lack of charge. "I'm out, Zero. Anymore damage won't be simulated." he says from his lying position. "That wall is your friend."
Zero hehs lightly as he falls down to one knee, panting from the exercise, "I'll tell you one thing Swing... *huffhuff* you're one hell of a fighter..." he coughs a bit and straightens himself up, walking over to Swing and offering him a hand up. "I've tangled with Elite Masters who didn't give me as much of a workout as you just did."
Michael Eildath blinks as the damage dissipates. "Yeah... tell me about it." Sitting up, he rubs the sore spots where the computer zapped him. "This is a wonderful argument for that armorsuit of mine."
Rock chuckles a little at Mike, Buster disarming and his hand
returning.
Rock glances sidelong at Noise, nodding. "Hey Noise."
Swing sits up as his computer finally charges his systems
back. "Really?" he asks, quite flattered. "I don't
usually enter full combat - you guys always seem to come back so
torn up, and I know I'm not in your league."
Swing takes the hand and rises.
Zero smirks. "Well consider yourself inducted into our league, bud, you don't need any training at all. You're a certified aft kicker in my book." he pants a little bit more before looking over at Twila and smiling, "We'll start up you training in just a second, I need to take a breather."
Twila Peterson shifts her weight slightly. Her quips and idle thought were more of a destraction than anything. In truth, she's slightly nervous. But she tries not to let it show otherwise. Rock's unexpected greeting given to the unexpected-but-welcomed newcomer doesn't go unnoticed by the one who hailed. "Hi..." she greets shyly, blinking at his...appearance. Last time she saw him was in the medical bay. Cain must have discharged him since then.
Noise waves. "Heya Megaman...hard at work again in the training room eh? Last time we were here, just you, me, sensai Zero, and Ms. Peterson." He blinks and looks over to Mike and Swing. "I see we have new participants."
Rock nods at Twila, stepping back and nodding to Twila. "Whenever Zero's ready."
Michael Eildath starts stretching a bit, working the soreness from his body... at least as much as he can.
Noise whispers: 'If yer planning to take on Zero for training as I did...expect pain, lots of it.'.
Twila Peterson then tosses Zero a glance and dips her chin. "No problem." It's then her attention refocuses on Rock for a moment wondering...until she's caught by a whisper.
You whisper 'Uh...thanks for the reminder. Actually...both Zero and Rock. Make sure Rick eats his veggies ok?' to Noise.
Swing finally flexes as the last of his damage melts away. "Oooh. Still gonna be feeling that tomorrow." he grins, turning slightly to catch Noise's comment.
Zero runs a hand through his hair and takes a deep breath and smiles, "Alright, Rock, Twila come on over here, we're gonna teach you how to use that thing." he says with a warm smile, as he reaches for his sabre, and adjusts a few dials on it, apparently to shorten it's length to that of the dagger.
Noise smirks. "Well, look on the bright side. At least -you- have an excuse to scream like a woman." He sighs and frowns, embarrassed of the memory.
Zero looks over. "Alright, Noise. I want you to come over here and stand across from Twila for right now." He then turns to look at Twila, waiting for her to approach him. "First of all, we need to teach you the proper way to hold it." He holds out his sabre in his hand and demonstrates. "There's two main ways to hold a dagger, for right now, we're gonna stick to the easy, less potentially dangerous to yourself way, and that's just the typical grip." He shows Twila what he means by holding his sabre firmly in his hands, the energy emitter pointing up. He extends his hand towards her so she can inspect it as much as she likes. "The activation button should always be placed slightly to the side of your thumb, close enough to activate it quickly, but far enough to where you don't accidentally turn it off in the middle of a stressful situation."
Swing props himself against the wall, content to observe for now.
Twila Peterson continues to feign innocence even as that small tidbit is stated. She's joking of course. It's not as if she hasn't had *some* training in here before. Just not...that much of it. "Um....kay..." And then looks over as Rock gets called away on business. But, that's usual it seems so she's learned to take it in stride. As she arrives she looks towards the sabre and attempts to copy with her own...
Noise nods and moves to the indicated position. A quick memory of Bit giving him some hand-to-hand combat pointers in San Angeles comes to mind. The Maverick had commented Noise's fighting style to be .... very unique. He stands there, awaiting any further instructions from his teacher.
Twila Peterson eyes the hilt within her own hand and activates the blade. "Like this?" she states in some uncertainty.
Noise flicks a small switch, deactivating his radio and silencing the incessant silliness of the other factions.
Zero nods to Twila with a smile, "Exactly, Twi, very good." He ignites his own and says, "Alright, there's two basic things you can do with a dagger, you can pierce and you can slash. Depending on the situation, one is better than the other." He looks over at Noise. "Alright, Noise, get up closer to Twila and act like your lunging at her shoulders." he then turns back to Twila, "In this situation, if someone has already gotten this close to you, a piercing attack is more suitable. It's best to go for the belly in this case, because it'll do enough damage to let the person know to think twice about messing with you, while not dealing any mortal damage. It'll hurt them -real- bad, especially a human, but i won't kill them either." he then demonstrates the movements for a piecing blow and then continues, "Now, try it on Noise, and don't worry about hurting him, since we're in the training room, it won't really hurt him, so give it all you got."
Noise blinks and raises an eyebrow. oO(It won't really hurt!?
Cripes...that's what he said about the entire training before we
started, was that true? Nohooo...)Oo He swings his neck side to
side and rather cockily states. "I'll go easy on you Ms.
Peterson." The bravado in the tone is unmistakable.
.oO(Well, here goes...)Oo. Twila muses to herself as Noise as he
takes a step back, getting ready for him to enact his
"lunge". "Uh....yeah..." she tones back,
preparing the balde and tightening her grip.
Noise blinks and fakes some sincere concerns. "Are you sure you're ready Ms. Peterson?"
Twila Peterson perks an eyebrow towards that. Sure she's a little nervous. But she didn't think it actually showed. She also as some reservations of doing this against Noise. She still blames herself for what had happened several days ago in London. Still, he did agree to help out with this...and she does need training. "Won't know until I find out. You...going to lunge?"
Noise nods and sighs. "Here goes..." He bends his legs and prepares to thrust his entire body forward when suddenly he brings the whole motion to a halt. His eyes swivel past Twila's shoulder and behind her. "Hey what's that behind you?"
Zero just sits and watches to see how the training unfolds itself.
Michael Eildath strides silently away.
Twila has used *that* often enough in the past so as to know a distraction when it's given. "I'd rather be concerned what's in front if I were you," she grunts as the blade is centered into his...belly? She always did have a away of narrowing her focus...to a point where it could eb a fault sometimes.
Zero smiles and nods, "Very good, Twila, very good." he says with a tone of approval.
Noise winces and swings his arms in front of his mid torso as if it would work blocking against such a blade. But...no pain? He looks down and sighs as the weapon goes right through his body. Unlike Zero's real fists last time.
Twila Peterson blinkblinks at the reploid's reaction. Although...if it were her on the other end, she probably would have done the same. The blade is withdrawn easily and she straightens. "I don't anyone out there," she says gesturing to the outside, "will be kind enough to hold a pose tho."
Rock steps back as well upon his return, watching Twila practice. He'll join shortly.
Noise rolls his eyes and pfffts. "I told ya I was gonna go easy on ye."
Zero smiles and nods. "Very good you two," he says as he looks over a Noise. "Alright back off a bit." He turns back to Twila. "Pretty impressive, Twi. I didn't expect you to not fall for that trick," he says with a smile of approval. "Now then, the next tactic is the slash, this is better for when your assailant is a little farther away, and you want to keep him away. The most important thing about slashing with a weapon, is to not overdo it. If you overswing or but too much force into it, yer gonna put yourself off balance. With a bladed weapon, it doesn't take much force to cause enough damage to show someone you mean business. All you need to do is exert enough force to get the swing out fast enough before the other person can react." He ignites his own dagger and makes a swiping motion with it in a fluid graceful motion. "You should try and get it like that, you're not gonna get it that perfect the first try, swinging a bladed weapon takes a long time to perfect, but knowing the basics will at least get you far enough to protect yourself." He looks over at Noise, "Alright, I want you to advance on Twila as if you were coming after her." he then turns to Twila, "Now, I want you to swing the weapon when you think he's in close enough range for you to connect."
Noise smiles. "Please...watch the blade dodging skills." He swings his neck around once again, preparing. Suddenly, sprints forward and leaps back, playing around with Twila a bit. Psyching her out, giving her a few fake charges. He sidesteps around, prancing a bit, blocking his face with fists, fingers towards his face. "Noise has maaad skills Twi, so don't get disappointed if I get ye." He thrusts forward but dives into a roll and just barely moves out of her range. He stands back erect immediately with a taunting expression. "Oh, oh...yeah! What's my name!? I know ye liked that. I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee!"
Rock glances over at Zero. "She's doing pretty well, ne, bro?" Glancing back at the young woman and Noise, he hmms lightly. "Maybe we should try a blaster later on."
Zero looks over at Rock and smiles. "That's your department, you're the ranged master here, I'm just the hand to hand man," he says with a wink. "But yeah, she's doing good. You oughta be proud of your gal, she could probably wipe the floor with Iris, and right about now, that'd be sorta fun to watch to be honest," he says, a slight tinge of irritation in his tone as he mentions his difficult girlfriend.
Rock quirks an eyebrow at his blonde friend. "You'll... have to explain that fully later." He nods though. "Yeah, I am, even if she didn't need to be learning this stuff."
Twila Peterson mentally hmmmmms, not exactly knowing just how too much of a swing would be too much. But, that's why she's in here training isn't it? And no way to know if she doesn't try. She offers a nod, but doesn't offer a verbal response...instead trying to concentrate. After a few small tests she then glances towards Noise expectantly...somewhat wishing he *wouldn't* go easy on her. Finally she tones, "Got it," hoping she does have at least the "gist of it" and braces.
As soon as Noise starts his...um...whatever it is he's doing Twila does indeed fall for some of his antics, but not all, and misses. After all, this is only when he's close enough to cause her "injury" isn't it? Watching him for a brief moment she waits to attempt another strike...*almost* hitting him in the process this time. Actually nicking him. However, as Zero had warned, she did toss a bit too much "swing" within the intended slash. She frowns a little at herself, promising she'll work on it.
Zero hrms and calls out. "Alright that's enough." He walks over to Twila and pats her on the shoulder, "Eh, you're a little rough, but for your first time with a dagger, you're not bad. In a week or so we'll go at it again. How's that?" He looks over at Rock and shakes his head, "Bud, everyone needs to know this stuff, Twi can't be watched over 24/7, and she's gotta learn how to at least protect herself somewhat, esp. considering how many people are out to get her."
Rock nods at Zero, glancing sidelong at his friends. "Yeah, I know. I guess I'm just a bit over-chivalrous," he says with a light grin.
Noise nods to Zero, remembering the incident at London just recently. "I hear that."
Twila Peterson settles and stares at the blade a little before deactivating it. He lowers her arm to her side commenting, "Guess I draw a bit of trouble." Not like she can help thinking herself as some sort of jinx...not with all that's transpired in the past, as well as recently. "Even Bass stated so.'
Noise smirks. "Yeah well Forte has some problems of his own believe you me. I hoped that hoverboard would've knocked some sense into him. Man..." He chuckles. "That look on his face before I slammed something going at least 300kph..." He touches where a human heart should be, if he was human. "Oh I'll cherish the memory forever."
Zero snarls, "You can all stop calling him Forte." he says with a very -clear- and -concise- meaning of hatred, "As far as I'm concerned his name is gonna be DEAD next time I get my hands on him. That jack aft..." he snorts as he puts his sabre on his back, "Anyhow, I'm gonna go take a rest cycle, good job you guys."
Twila Peterson tightens her grip on the hilt slightly before offering the beserker, "Sleep well. And...thanks," sincerely.
Rock nods a little. "Night, Zero," he says.
Noise raises an eyebrow at Zero, his anger is something Noise wishes not to learn from his teacher. Unlike Zero, Noise met Bass as a friend, and they spent the whole night just talking about their dreams. Since then "Bass" has already brutality beaten Noise on several occasions, but he doesn't give up on his friend.
Twila Peterson first met Bass when she was out with Rock one night, when the bezerker had been captured by the Masters anf tinkered with by Wily. The dark night was taunting Rock concerning the matter. So...pardon her for thinking otherwise.
Zero snorts as he hits the door and says one final thing, "I'll tell you one thing, Noise, you keep calling him Forte, and one of these days he's gonna use it against you, just like he does to everyone. He's a ******, always will be, I know, he's my little brother."
Zero then punches the wall quite hard and stalks out, he's apparently not very happy with Bass, wonder why.
Rock regards Zero, pondering saying something, but doesn't. Stepping away from the wall, he nods. "Very good, very good, Twila."
Roll blinks as Zero strides past her when she comes in. "...I uh...took a shower. Promise..."
Noise blinks. "Darn...am I like, the only one without a sibling?"
