Command Center - Hunter HQ
Kyo-Ohki meeps as the dustbunny up and necides to hide undeneath the terminal she had been playing near. She quirks her head to the side and chasing after...pouncing at what she thought was the right time...only to smack her forehead against the terminal's base. *bonk* "Meeeeeeeeeeeew..." she sniffles quietly. She lays there, semi-dazed, before shaking herself of the cobwebs. There's a slight pawing underneath for the dustball...but she gives up soon enough...before something, or rather someone, catches her eye.
Getting ready what she does best Kyo suddenly darts right up onto the computer consoles, not caring what buttons she pushes as she heads right for Seminole. Before he may even know what's happening he has a cabbit perched proadly on his head...looking down on him. "Mip!" <Spiff!>
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: '*sounds of tiny taps accompanied by a small tinkling of a bell...then silence*'.
(Ch. B []) Zero transmits: 'Code Red! Code Red! Someone contain the cabbit!'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Erk...ok...where'd she get to this time...'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'Don't worry, she's under control. I think.'.
Seminole doesn't really have time to react before cabbit has perched itself atop his head. Funny, he's able to dodge Maverick and Master attacks and evade all kinds of weaponry, but there's no stopping a cabbit. Emitting a sigh, Sem reaches up and replaces Kyo in his lap where it's a bit more comfortable for him. "I'm pretty tall, don't want you falling off from up there," he explains, scritching the cabbit under her chin with a smile.
Kyo-Ohki yeeps in slight protest as she's removed from her new perch. Hey...Mr. Push-Over lets him do it. *grump* Ah well, not a cabbit to be overly sensitive of such things, most of the time, she licks the reploid's nose in some affection...only to brake out into giggles.
Seminole snickers as well, leaning back in his chair and relaxing with the cabbit in his arms. "Y'know, you're a nice break from all this work," he comments, gently stroking the cabbit's back. It's true what they say, pets lower one's stress level.
Kyo-Ohki emits a few more giggles before settling within the officers lap. His affection elicits a low, soft purr from her. In response the animal brushes herself against his chest. With each movement she makes the tiny bell on her collar almost continuously *tinks*. Every now and then she pats playfully at his fingers with a "Mip!"...that is, until some of the computer screen gains her attention. Something about that screen that never did keep her away for long. She straightens up and peers towards the display: wide-eyes. "Meowph?"
Seminole chuckles and plays back with the cabbit while she's still interested, pretty much oblivious to the rest of the Command Center for the moment. As the screen gets Kyo's attention, Sem gets an idea and leans forward to grab the mouse. He waves it all around the monitor, slowly at first, then quicker. Weird, he goes from an overworked Hunter to entertaining a cabbit in a matter of minutes.
Zero steps out of the grav lift in his armor and offers a wave to the guys and starts walking towards the teleporters, "I'm going on patrol, either of you need anything before I take off?" he inquires, for some strange reason, he has a playful glint of impish glee in his eyes, like he's keeping something to himself.
Seminole is sitting at one of the stations, with Kyo in his lap and entertaining her with the mouse cursor. He erks as Zero enters, turning and trying not to look like he was slacking off. A bit difficult with the cabbit in his lap. "Er.. no," he answers, doing his best to try and not turn a shade of red.
Rick Morgan enters the command center right about then, from the direction of the hangar bay. He glances towards where Seminole is playing with the cabbit...and manages to refrain from giving a low groan at the sight. She's up to her old tricks again as he can see. His attention is of course distracted by Zero's statement, and he merely arches an eyebrow, before giving a quick shrug. "I'm good." he returns.
Zero nods to Rick, "Alright, then I'm off." he walks gingerly into the teleporters as he continues to chat on his radio.
Dischord just grumbles as she floats on through, towards the teleportation chamber, not stopping to wave, or say hi or anything.
Seminole whews as Zero exits, but still listens over the radio. The red hue drains from his face as he looks back down at Kyo, but returns quickly as he spots Rick and Dischord. He breathes deeply, not acknowledging Dischord as she doesn't acknowledge him.
Seminole patpats Kyo on the head, grinning down at her. "You just missed a few friends, is all," he replies, looking back over at the teleport chamber curiously. "Wonder where they went off to."
Kyo-Ohki mips and starts becoming restless. She squirms a bit within Seminole's hold and then scampers over towards the teleport chambers....curious...
Seminole quickly follows Kyo into the chamber, not wanting her to teleport away.. Twila probably wouldn't like it. "Kyo...come back here," he says, looking around quickly. Losing Kyo probably wouldn't be a good thing.
Kyo-Ohki hopes about the room...either unaware...or more accurately, not carring that she's currently followed. She goes within a circle first. Nothing can be seen from down on the floor. So...she leaps up to one of the controls...landing on the pretty buttons... "Mew?"
Seminole turns as he hears the familiar sound of a destination being entered. Frowning, he sees Kyo rather quickly and moves swiftly toward the capsule.
Kyo-Ohki then begins to noticed Seminole. With her features an almost audible "Oops!" she leapd back down off of the controls. She's very surprised at the bright flash of light emited from the chamber as she makes her jump...and even *more* surprised when she's soon engulfed by it. She lets out an alarmed "Meeeeeeeeeeeee---!" but never completes her statement. In mere seconds...when the light fades...she's no where to be found...
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'Oh.. crap.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'You alright, Sem?'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'She's gone to Sydney, it seems. I'll find her..'.
Kyo-Ohki has already scampered out of the teleporter by now...only to find herself in a...what is this place anyway. She looks about and up at the crowds of people and blinks. <This isn't home...> She tilts up her head and sniffs a bit as she sits there on the sidewalk. Catching the wiff of some pastries by a street vender she dives into the crowd. <Food!>
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: '*pause* Doh! Uh....I'm...a...thanks, Sem...'.
Sydney, Australia - Business District
Seminole exits the chamber, and straight into the crowd. Seeing how he's about six feet taller than Kyo, it makes it a lot harder for Seminole to see where she's gone off to. "Kyo, c'mere!" he yells, looking from side to side and idly wondering what a cabbit would do in her first time to the city. See a movie? Go to the park? Sem sighs heavily, ducking down as he tries to see through the sea of legs and possibly spot the cabbit while he's on her level.
This, of course, rewards Seminole with a variety of confused and amused looks within his direction.
Meanwhile, the cabbit finds it more difficult than she first thought to travel admist the masses and finds herself knocked over to the side of the street. She lets out a mip before scrambling back up onto the sidewalk and darts for the side of the building to avoid being kicked again. "Yip?" she asks no one in partcular. She again sniffs the air for the taste of food and proceeds to try again...getting herself almost trapped within a flight of stairs leading into a privately owned business.
Seminole rises back to his feet, and grumbles to himself.
"This isn't working.." In a bright flash of light,
Seminole's armor snaps together and gains about two feet of
height. This elicts more of a surprise reaction from the
surrounding people, as they back away a bit from the Maverick
Hunter. Sem activates his olfactory scanner, litterally sniffing
out Kyo. He follows the scent into the alleyway, and continues
scanning for the lost cabbit.
Twila Peterson crosses her arms in front of her chest. She would
ask to help go look...but her previous encouters, mostly outside
Neo-Tokyo...have been anything but pleasent. She's also afraid if
too much occures she'll be forced to stay inside the labs.
But...darnit...that's her pet out there...lost. Finally...
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Persmission to join you?'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'Sure.. she's your pet, after all.'.
<Soon...>
A little girl...roughly the age of 6, watches as Kyo manages her way out the other side of the stairs...thinking that she's nothing by a dirty bunny. "Look Mama," she says pointing. "Rabbit! how she get here?"
Seminole briefly exits the alley as he waits for Twila to arrive. Once she does, he waves quickly at her, yelling, "Over here, Twila!"
Kyo-Ohki pauses as she's pointed too and sniffs towards the little girl...starting to scamper near her. But the mother drags the little girl away. "No dear...you don't know where it's been. Shoo! Besides...look how dirty she is...probably has bene crawling in something." Not far from the truth either. When Kyo tries to be friendly one final time the mother forces the little mech-animal away rather forcefully with her words. Kyo finally gets the message she's not wanted and heads into a nearby alley...to hide behind a garbage cab. But...um...one that moves? The small unit, a semi-sentient machine designed to keep the streets cleaned, watches her with a blink and eyes her curiously. He, of course, thinks only one thing. Stray cat. Before the cabbit relaizes she's taken by the back of her neck. "It is unlawful for animals to be roaming about without a leesh..." he tsks...
Good thing Seminole was relatively by the teleporters...or Twila may not have heard him. Being taller he's easily seen through the mass and hurries over towards him with an "excuse me" and "pardon me" where appropriate. "Any trace of her?" she manages to get out as soon s she's close enough.
Seminole darts down the alley as soon as Twila's near, raising a hand to his temple as he scans around the alleyway. "I tracked her to this alley.. she still should be around here somewhere.." he answers, looking from side to side as he follows in on Kyo's scent. Into a stairwell, then out again.. down the alley... and into a garbage? Sem stops a few feet from the garbage bot, frowning a bit. "Please return the pet," he intones.
Kyo mips with a blink as she's picked up by the mech...not exactly knowing what to think...only...he looks somewhat like Fliptop...only with strange arms. She's the first one to catch sight of the familiar faces and lets out a gleeful, "MEI!!!"...until she remembers she may have done something bad. She peers towards the unit...and then looks to the ground again. Getting an idea (as cabbits sometimes do) she brightens and offers Seminole and Twila such an innocent look...probably her best yet. Give this one an emmy!
The unit swivels about to face the officer as well as the human girl...looking them over. "Are you her owners, Sir?" he questions within a mono-tone.
"Yes....she's mine," Twila answers.
The unit tsks again. "Animals are to be on a leash or within a cage when outdoors, Madame." he then turns towards the reploid. "I did see the tag this cat wears. Do either of you bear proof she is who she claims?"
Seminole crosses his arms over his chest, carefully watching the garbage droid, then looks over at Twila expectantly when it asks for ID. o 0 (This wasn't as hard as I thought,) he muses, turning back to keep an eye on Kyo.
Twila nods towards the unit and snakes her hand into her pocket to show him her ID. "Yes...I'm Twila Peterson as it states on her name tag. Now *please*...may I have her back?"
The little cabbit blinks as the "But I'm cute!" look doesn't seem to be getting her anywhere. Uh, oh...this must mean she's in DEEP. Just where is the pushover when she really needs him? She begins squirming qithin the unit's grip...mewing pathetically.
The unit peers towards the ID and nods, satisfied. "Indeed. Please remember to---"
It's then Kyo suddenly finds herself loose and drops to the aspalt. *Oof!* Before she can be picked up she scampers back out into the alley and into the masses...again!
"What the...KYO, GET YOUR COTTON-TAIL BACK HERE!" she screeches. Without a '"thank you towards the mech she hurries after to try and catch up...
Meanwhile...the unit scratches his head. "Why leashes are recommended, Sir."
Seminole offers the drone a shrug, then quickly darts after
Twila as he resumes the chase for Kyo. o 0 (Of course, it can't
be easy. It's never easy..)
Long distance to Burner Man: Twila Peterson was given a uniform
for special occasions. Usually wears jeans and a sweatshirt for
everyday stuff
As little Kyo makes her break for freedom again, obviously
more than one person has glanced over in suprise at the two
figures chasing after the little mechanimal. It's here, amidst
the masses, that Kyo is to suddenly encounter an...obstacle. An
immovable object to meet the darting little form...or rather, the
shin of said immovable object.
The figure hasn't really been paying attention to the chase
itself, instead glancing at a newspaper he has unfolded in his
hands, studying the headlines. This of course obscures him from
view...save for his lower torso.
Ths unit moves his hands to his "hips" as the Hunter
soon joins the human girl. "A pity the laws are discarded
for mere recreational reasons. I would think a race track would
have been more suitable..."
Freedom! is all the cabbit can think. And...well...who knows. Maybe the two aren't really mad at her. It *coulod* be some kind of game. And, if so....wheeee! Kyo never really gets to think that far before she smacks into...something. She tumbles back to the ground...a little dazed this time due to the speed at which she was bounding. There's a dazed "mip" released before she rolls herself back onto her stomach and props herself up. She then hops to the leg she had hit and starts sniffing. Mmmm...familiar scent. But---.
Twila pauses to gain a breath, looking about her. As Seminole catches up she blurts, "You see where she went *this time*?"
Seminole glances around as the alley ends, looking left, straight, then right. His visor follows the scent of the cabbit, as Sem points toward the right while he turns to move. "This way."
Twila Peterson nods in response and allows him to lead the way. Guess having extras built in helps quite a bit doesn't. "Sould I even ask on how she used the teleporter?" she manages to quip. "Or should I even ask?" She then shouts a "Kyo! C'me here!" towards the direction the reploid indicates.
A brief rustle with the paper is the only indication that the
individual has reacted to Kyo's sudden and abrupt arrival. For a
moment, nothing more happens...but then, ever so slowly, the
paper is lowered, slowly crumpled in the process. Long, raven
colored hair is revealed, hanging easily about the man's
shoulders...but it's his eyes that are the worst part. Something
about them that makes someone -know- that he isn't human. Perhaps
the red pupils would be a good indicator...but there's something
else deep within. Something /in/human in many ways. Face setting
into a slight scowl, he glances down, eyes narrowing slightly to
slits. Under each lid is a purple stripe that runs along the
upper curve of his cheek, almost giving the appearance of
warpaint.
To those familiar with him...this is no mystery as to just
-who- this is.
Glare now settling completely on the slightly dazed cabbit as
she sniffs at his leg, he leans over just enough to reach down
with one hand, fingers seizing Kyo by the scruff of her neck,
much like one picks up many little creatures nowadays.
Bass' sudden curiosity at this little...thing ensures that he
dosen't harm her with the sudden grab...although it's still a
quick motion, as is the lift as he brings her up to stare at her
nearly eye to eye.
"What's this now...?" he breathes, arching one eyebrow slightly.
Kyo-Ohki sounds off another "Meep!" in protest as she's picked up in such a manner for a second time that day. She peers towards the android confused and tilts her head to the side. His scent seems very familiar indeed. Still her noise wrinkles as her senses are alarming her that no...don't even expect a friendly pet from this character. But she can't help but at least try, can she? Not knowing whether to emit a hiss to demand to be let go or to feing innosence...she sneaks a lick to the tip of the androids nose and giggles nervously. .oO(But he still smell funny...)Oo.
Not that Kyo would be much better. After her little romp she's a little dirty herself.
Seminole smirks back at Twila. "I don't think it'd help.. /I/ don't even--" Sem cuts himself off, stopping suddenly from Kyo and her finder. He senses... something from him, unable to exactly put his finger on it but is suspicious none the less. The Maverick Hunter coughs, addressing him as tactfully as he can. "Could you please return the animal to me?"
Twila Peterson moves herself right beside Seminole several moments after. She's glad Kyo's safe of course. But as she gazes on the one who currently has her...a sharp intake of air is taken. Aside from all else, the "tatoos" below the eyes are what gives her suspicions are strong foothold. After all, she's seen this individual minus his armor before. Perhaps there are others that are identical to his form and build...as well as appearance. Twila certainly hopes so. But she has a sinking feeling already...there aren't...
Bass stands there about as rigid as a statue as he even gets
his nose licked in the process. In fact, the gesture had about
the same effect as it would on a statue, as he doesn't even so
much as bat an eyelash at the cabbit, continuing to scowl at her.
"Amusing..." he mutters audibly, now having the paper
rolled up and crumpled in his other hand. "...I would expect
something of this construction to come where -I- most recently
was. The old man tends to enjoy creating...oddities."
It's then that Seminole arrives, and he tilts his gaze to the
side then, to stare towards the Hunter. It's almost imperceptible
at first, but both of Bass' eyebrows twitch upwards ever so
slightly, recognition settling in.
Well now this has gotten that much more interesting all over
again.
With a slow turn, Bass comes to face Seminole fully, not
having seen Twila yet. He rests his free hand on his hip, as he
continues to hold Kyo up in the air by the scruff, close to his
own features. Although he's not staring at her anymore, he's
staring at Semnole. "Oh...is this yours?"
Kyo-Ohki peers back down for a moment towards the asphalt before
looking at the strange, character her has her currently in his
grip...and then turns to focus on Seminile and the arriving
Twila. Looking back and forth between them she suddenly perks up
with a squeal. "Meeeeeeeei!"
Twila swallows a bit as she continues to look on. Stepping a
little more into view she tones sheepishly, "Uh...mine
actually..."
You whisper 'Um...we're in trouble. You...don't know who this
is...do you?' to Seminole.
Seminole stands firm, still watching Bass suspiciously. He
still hasn't recognized the Robot Master, but definitely has a
bad feeling about the guy. Someone he doesn't want to see Kyo in
the hands of any longer, either. He nods, gesturing back to Twila
and quietly murmuring back to her.
Seminole whispers: 'He seems familiar... but no.'.
You whisper 'I'll...erm...give you a hint. He has a dmechanical mongrol named Treble...' to Seminole.
Bass's eyes snap tot he side as Twila steps into view, and now
they -do- narrow further, the edge of his mouth quirking
downwards ever so slightly.
So much for disguised appearances. "Yours?" he repeats, giving Kyo a little shake as if to emphasize. "Why am I -not- surprised somehow?" He then drones with something akin to disgust. "This...creature appears to have as much of a penchant for trouble as its owner."
Seminole looks back at Bass, frowning deeply as Twila manages to figure out who he is before Seminole can. The Hunter slowly steps forward, flanking Twila and putting himself between her and Bass. "Are you going to give her back or not?" he questions, doing his best to mask the anger and annoyance in his tone.
The little cabbit makes a startled wail as she's jerked and starts to struggle against the grip holding her. "Mew! Mewmewmew!"
Her cries bring the attention of several nearby bystanders who happen to glance within the direction of the unfolding scene...finding this an...unusual sight. Perhaps it's some sort of...street drama.
The unit from before watches from where he sits and tilts his head...curious as to whether or not he should ask if the three have a permit.
At the moment, Twila swallows a bit hard as the Hunter blocks her view, not exactly knowing what to say except, "Probably contagious. Would it help if either of us said 'please'?"
Bass tilts his head to one side slightly. "And what sort
of use would I have of simply crushing the artificial life out of
a little construction like this until it oozes through my
fingertips....hrm?" he drones faintly, tilting Kyo closer
ever so slightly, as if teasingly, then jerking her back again.
"Then again..." he drones. "..perhaps I might just want to see the look on your faces if I did it. Hrmmm?"
Kyo-Ohki yelps again...this time her cry becoming a little more...insistent. She may be a cabbit. But it doesn't take long to figure out she's in a bit of trouble...definitely.
The human girl eyes her cabbit with a bit of worry. "You wouldn't..." she breaths in, although well knowing Bass is indeed that spiteful that he actually would...
Seminole's fists clench at the mere idea, watching Bass hold the cabbit before Twila and him. His jaw grinds with discomfort over the situation, but remains calm and poised for the moment. Sem knows Bass would do it. He only needs a reason /not/ to...
Bass tilts his head to the side again, apparently looking a little more amused at the moment. "I'll tell you what...why don't we make this a bit more...sporting. After all, good entertainment is hard to come by in my line of work..." At that, he chuckles, and once more holds Kyo out for a brief second, tantalizingly close...and yet...so far.
"But who am I kidding? Here...if you want your little creature back so badly..."
The next motion is a blurr of speed, as he all but snaps his arm around in a sudden rush of motion, no doubt giving poor Kyo the ride of her life. One she probably wouldn't care to repeat ever again. Much like one winds up and releases a baseball as high and far as they can, so too does he suddenly let go of Kyo's little form. Although he emphasizes a little more on height than distance for the little furball.
"...then go get it!" At that, he all but busts out into mocking laughter.
Twila's hands fly to her mouth like frightened birds, as she wayches helplessly. "Bass, no!!"
Shouts of disapproval from onlookers are suddenly drowned out by a loan cabbit's immediate shriek as she...takes an unexpected lesson in flying. She sores through the air, paws wiggling in sudden fright as she goes higher...and higher...and higher...until she smacks against a protrusion of a close by structure and smacks against it rather hard, knocking her not-so-nicely out. She then abruptly starts her descent...
Seminole is instantly in response, darting around and even knocking over a few people as he moves to intercept Kyo. He keeps himself under her, watching her flight path, so to speak. The Hunter suddenly jumps, as his dash jets activate to propel him up and forward as Kyo arcs downward. His arms outstretch, and much to the relief of Seminole, into his waiting hands. Too bad he forgot one detail... the landing. *CLUNK* Sem's body smacks against the pavement, hard. He skids along, scratching his armor rather nicely but still keeps Kyo safe within his arms.
Bass's eyes follow Kyo's flight path as she...well, gets airborne, right up until she makes contact with the nearby structure in a not-so-gentle impact. "Ooooh..." he chides, pausing in his laughter to narrow his eyes in interest, noting how hard she connected. With that, a cruel sneer spreads across his features...ever the bully of course. "We'll just bet that hurt alot...if it even felt it." With that, he breaks into chuckles again, tilting his head forward as Seminole makes a catch on Kyo's descent. With that, he raises both hands and mock-applauds. Who cares if all the bystanders have a problem with his actions? He -never- cared about this sort of thing.
"Perhaps you may yet be NFL material reploid..."
Twila Peterson heads after the Hunter soon after he takes off to see how both he and the cabbit are, leaving Bass to watch the them both worry over a small mechanical creature. Not quite as hard since the reploid cleared the bystanders from his orginal path, "Seminole, how...how is she..?" Belatedly she thinks to add, "And...you?" Too late be be polite perhaps. But she saw how Kyo connected just moments before. Seminole at least has his armor. Kyo...doesn't...
Seminole gets to his feet, albeit slowly. He turns back to face Twila, holding Kyo in safely in one hand. "Fine," he answers, obviously meaning the both of them. He offers the cabbit to Twila, and dusts himself off a bit. His armor isn't too damaged, just scratched up. Shooting a glare at Bass, he snorts in disgust, "I'll stick with the Hunters."
"Your loss...I hear the pay is much better there. Or so they say..." Bass returns with a cool smirk. His amusement at the expense of the other two seems to have run it's course however, and with that, he folds the paper up and under his right arm, turning to make his way out. "Well I'm certain you've both had enough of games...and I've got things to do as well. So I'll bid you adieu for now...." With that, he turns and begins to move away, suddenly on the receiving end of a couple of angry shouts from onlookers who decide to voice their opinions of his animal-cruelty.
Of course, their only response to be received is an even, "Oh put a sock in it."
Twila Peterson takes the mech-animal gently within her arms...cuddling her. However, she may not be as fine as Seminole may think. Kyo wasn't made for abuse. Her hand grazes over the portion over the cabbit's back where she had struck the metal...noting the leakage of bodily fluids trickling out. By what the girl gathers...the injuries are mostly internal...but do seem severe enough to warrant concern. "Sem, we should get her back," she offers regarding the animal's unconscious form. By now she's ignoring Bass....having more of a priority in mind than name-calling.
Seminole continues to glare at Bass for a few more moments as he disappears into the crowd, but tears himself away at Twila's concerns. "You're right...let's get going," he answers, frowning down at Kyo and starting to clear a path back toward the teleporters.
Twila Peterson nods in regardy agreement...not offering anything really right now even as they had back for home. She's silent most of the way back, only offering a whimpering of concern for her pet...
<Once home...>
Teleportation Chamber--Hunter HQ
Twila Peterson pauses for a moment as the light dissapates from the teleporter device and then steps off. "Thanks...for going after her, Sem..."
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Rick, you available...or any of the doctors?'.
Seminole gently pats Twila's shoulder as he moves toward the Command Center. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect her, Twila. I'm so sorry.." he replies, not really very accepting of the gratitude. He's more sorry about Kyo's injuries than his own part in it all.
(Ch. B []) Rick Morgan transmits: 'Eh? Yeah I'm available. Down in the medical bay running some diagnostics.'.
Twila Peterson presses her lips together. "You...did what you could..." is all she states and slips into the awaiting grav lift. "Could you radio I'm on my way down there for me...and why?"
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'Twila's on her way, Rick, with Kyo. She's been hurt.'.
(Ch. B []) Rick Morgan transmits: 'Uh...allright. Standing by.'.
<And...>
Medical Bay <Hunter HQ>
Rick Morgan stands up from the terminal he was standing by, already moving to the nearest medical table, and casting his glance over it's surface to make sure it's prepared. He starts to set it up for a normal patient...and then pauses, remembering the radio message. "Oh yeah..." he mutters, pulling the pillow to the -middle- of the table instead. There.
Twila Peterson arrives at the medical center at a brisk pace, holding the roughed up and soiled body of fur close to her. Along her walk her features softened and by the time makes her way into the room she looks almost is if she was going to cry. It doesn't take her long to "home in" on Rick and heads over towards him. "Kyo accidently got caught up in a teleport...and met Bass while she was in Sydney..." she gets out as she comes to a stop and gazes towards the unconscious form.
Seminole follows Twila in, remaining in the background as he watches the girl bring Kyo to the bed. Frowning again, he shuffles toward a monitor and starts up the report...
Rick Morgan -had- opened his mouth to say something. Perhaps
about just where to set Kyo. But Twila's words cut him right off
and he just stares for a long moment. Until finally...
"-SHE- met up with Bass?" He had been expecting to hear that the little mech-animal had gotten injured during one of her trips, or perhaps run into another unfriendly mech-animal. This he had NOT expected.
Shock wears off quickly enough, and his demeanor softens then, as he can both see Twila's expression...and feel her anguish at the same time. "Allright..." he says quickly, gesturing to the pillow. "Set her down here and I'll have a look at her. I'll get her fixed up good as new Twila. I promise. Don't you worry."
Twila Peterson dips her chin in compliance and slowly, as well as carefully, lays the animal's form down to rest. "Her back's 'bleeding', so I can only guess that's where she hit---." Her words cut off as she adds, "Internal damage I gather."
A small trickle of mech fluid slides from the young cabbit's mouth...seeming to underlie her owners assessment.
Rick Morgan whips out his scanner in the next breath, and plays it over the little creature's form, watching the readouts and hrmming thoughtfully to himself.
"Yeah..." he offers quietly, noting the interior strain and...well, crushing of Kyo's skeletal makeup within. "I'll have to take a closer look. I think I might be able to work with this though now that I got an idea. How'd she get this damage anyway? Did Bass uh....hit her?" As he speaks, he's already pulling out his tools, and gently rolls Kyo over onto her stomach. With a careful motion, he begins removing her fur, and exposing the components within. Next, a magnifying lens is brought up and affixed to Rick's head by use of a clip that attaches to his bandanna. Enough that it hangs down over his right eye.
Seminole finishes the report, then turns to gaze the twins as they work on Kyo's injuries. After a few moments, he turns away and heads back outside. "I'll be in the Command Center if I'm needed," he calls back.
The cabbit's form moves limply when prodded, unable to do much else but await the care given by the cyborg's touch.
To the side, Twila continues to watch worriedly as Rick goes about what...he's well known for. Some of her mind works on just what Rick's doing. Some of the injuries Twila would have been able to offer repairs for...but not others by the looks of it. She hesitates for a moment to answer the officer with a, "Alright. And Sem...thanks..." not knowing what more to say to him at the moment. In all honesty, he did do what he could and she doesn't fault him for that. She gazes at him more, hoping he doesn't blame him self for this like he had earlier before turning back towards her sibling. "Actually...she was thrown
Rick Morgan hmmms quietly, setting to work on the cabbit's little form, taking note to shut down her sensors and give her the equivalent of being 'drugged up' so to speak. Silently, he pries back the cover, and sets to glance at the interior, whistling audibly to himself. "She's got pretty small systems, but I think..." he removes the outer layer of the exoskeleton within, noting how soft even -that- is. "...yeah. I can fix this." he murmurs. "She took a hard knock, but thankfully she didn't hit anything that would break anything else. Twila get me a pair of tweezers and the bag in the cupboard marked 'size 2L' would you?"
The young woman only offers a quiet nod as and moves to retrieve the supplies needed for the operation. Not long after she returns to the table with the tweazers and the aforementioned container, setting them on a movable tray. She positions said tray within her brother's reach and is already offering the plyers to him. "So...she'll be alright?"
Rick Morgan indeed takes up the little tweezers, and leans
forward, ever so delicately removing the damaged circuitry and
tiny lines that lace the little creation's form. "I think
so..." he offers, tilting the nearby light closer so he can
study what he's doing with that much more caution. Ony by one, he
begins to find the replacement pieces, and puts them back,
sealing them up and carefully snapping them into place where they
belong. "Just gotta make sure I pay attention to the little
details. Not like I haven't done this before..." His voice
remains gentle, and even as he concentrates on his work however.
It isn't long before he's even replacing the outer cover that he removed, and gently slides it back into place. With careful motions, he pulls the fur back into place, using a device that seals up the syntheskin without even leaving a mark or a trace of anything in it's wake.
With that, he removes the eyepiece and extra light, and sits back in his seat, all but reaching down to scoop up Kyo gently in one hand and cradle her in his arm, as he reaches down. "Well now squirt...let's see how you're doing now hrm?" he offers, reaching down with his fingers to help reactivate the little mech-animal. His familiarity with designs and his previous work helps him to know that he literally has to gently rub his fingers at the base of her neck in a perfect sequence to help reactivate her.
Despite at one time having been uncomfortable in Kyo's presence, Rick is surprisingly gentle and careful in how he handles her right now...even how he speaks.
After several moments of silence Kyo emits what sounds to be tiny whine. A paw groggily flops out towards Rick's fingers even as she's cradled with a whispered "Mew". Greenish orbs peers out as her eyelids open halfway as she looks back up towards the cyborg sleepily. She opens her mouth, giving him a tiny yawn as she nuzzles against him weakly as her systems work to help her adjust to the repairs for the unexpected injuries. "Mip...yip meowph?" she questions...before looking about for someone else. Her eyes then rest on Twila and begin to water.
Whimpering her paw flops out again...this time in the girl's direction before she pulls it back and snugs against Rick.
Kyo did something she shouldn't ahve...and she very well knows it.
Twila shushes the cabbit's cries tenderly and raises a hand to stroke her recently tended to form. "Hey now...did mama ever not love you?"
Rick Morgan smirks faintly at that. "I think -that- is actually a sign that she's a-ok now." With a chuckle, he raises a hand to give Kyo's head a small scratch. Well ok maybe as far as animals go she isn't so bad. After all, she is a mechanical one right? With a careful motion, he lifts the little form away and hands her back in Twila's direction. "Here ya go..." he grins. "..good as new."
Twila Peterson takes the little creature within her arms and hugs gently. "Thanks, Rick...means alot...to me..." she gets out somehow while holding her close. At least now, while Kyo's recovering, she'll settle and slow down a bit. Hopefully she won't look within the teleport chamber and play in there again. But then...this is Kyo being spoken of. So...who really knows? "I was afraid I was going to loose her."
Rick Morgan hmmms quietly, setting his equipment aside and giving a small nod. "Well I won't lie..." he offers. "Any harder or in the wrong spot and I don't know if I could have repaired it in time. She's not built for that kind of treatment."
Rick does break into a grin though as he stands up fully again. "Hey I'm glad I was able to fix her up tho."
Twila Peterson lovingly cradles the animal in silence before gazing back towards Rick and giving him a small smile. She makes her way over and, although she's unable to hug him right now since her arms are full...she does kiss him on the cheek. "That's...another one I owe you." As if she's really able to keep count...
Rick Morgan smiles in that brotherly way when he gets this kind of response. Awww.
"Anything for my lil sis," he returns. "Now I know this is a little hard to enforce...but just see she takes it easy for the next day while she accustoms to the new part. On the plus side, she might have been due for a check on her systems, so that's out of the way. If anything when she's fully recovered she should have more uh...pep."
Twila Peterson quirks her brow towards that. Great...hopelessly overactive and on a perpetual surgar rush. But then, anything different wouldn't be Kyo. She observes the cabbit for a little longer as her eyes droop back down as if ready to fall back to sleep. "I better get her tp her bed, so she can rest then," she intones softly. "Thanks again, Rick. You...sleep well, ok?"
Rick Morgan nods quickly, "I will Twila. I'm not gonna be too far away anyways. I still got another hour or two on these diagnostics, then I'm turning in as well. You get a good night's rest with Kyo there."
"I will," she promises. "Good night..."
Little Kyo opens her eyes halfway again and turns towards Rick's general direction as Twila heads towards the door leading out to the hallway. She blinks and pats a paw, uttering a quit, "Mei mei..." before her eyes close again.
Twols pauses, smiling. "Oh...and Kyo says the same...
Rick Morgan chuckles at that. "So that's what that was..." he offers with a faint tease, giving a quick wink. "Get off to bed you two..." he then offers with a good-natured shooing motion. "I'll see you in the morning."

Kyo Injured Wed Aug 02 Seminole
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Earlier tonight, Kyo somehow managed to activate the
teleporters and took a little trip to Sydney. I followed her and
tracked her down, and Twila followed shortly. Unfortunately, Kyo
ran into Bass. And of course, being lower than pond scum, Bass
found it amusing to injure a defenseless mech-animal. Twila and I
brought Kyo back to the Labs.. she'll be fine. I'm just fairly
sickened about the whole thing. Seminole out."
