(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Now... I want all com chatter on this channel to CEASE! Important broadcasts only. Understood? I will be Monitering and co-ordinating from the Wily Star... I am monitering for any activity from Starhaven or Sunstar himself...'.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: " Mind explaining why you think Chaos won't be anything to be concerned with, Doctor?"
Dr. Wily sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Because... We fight his greatest foe... if anything... He would help us. Besides... from the words of Libra... He likes me. *audible smirk*"
(Ch. D []) Quint transmits: 'OOC: He's a smirker! Huzzah!'.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: "I would think he also has his own agenda. And if what Chaos stated was true Friday night, he doesn't know of some of Libra's activities, I think I figured out somewhat what her goal is."
Dr. Wily sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Oh yes! You /did/ have a meeting with Chaos didn't you? Do tell."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: "Basically, he denied having knowledge or having connection with the attacks on my life by Lirba."
Dr. Wily sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Hmm... Interesting. Anything else?"
Twila Peterson is presently sitting at a terminal, wearing a headset. At the moment she's alone but for Michael's cat who's lounging at the corner.
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: "Only the usual riddle: Truth is lies and lies are truth. *pause* Although think. If Libra does have her way, and Earth isn't destroyed, X's future will come about, Doctor. She's not having our best interests."
A shimmering blue circle appears on the floor, expanding into a disk of blue light. From this disk, a familiar spiked green head begins to rise up, followed by a set of shoulders, as Mercury makes his entrance. He finally completely rises out of the floor, and then waves dismissively at the circle, the gem on his forehead flashing as the portal disperses. He crosses his arms over his chest, watching Twila in interest, and tilts his head as his sensors begin to pick up traces of radioactivity...
Dr. Wily sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Hmm... yes... Libra and Luna were also as useless as speaking to a brick wall... To many riddles... to little time."
As Twila speaks she catches some of the bluish light reflected on the glass on some of the monitor's screens, and sees a vague shape taking form. She stares for the longest time, falling silent, before making one last transmission and turning around to face the visitor. "....."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: "Eh...you'll have to excuse me. Er...Stardroid alert..."
Twila Peterson then calmly swivels in her seat to look up at the intruder. She...remebers this one. The headset is removed as she, gazes. "Uh...hi..."
Mercury: This male robot is larger than average size, standing about 10 feet tall. His whole body has a flat matte finish, save for a single gleaming emerald jewel on a field of purple in the forehead of his green helmet. Two purple stripes start at the gem and continue diagonally across his helmet towards the back, beginning a row of three large spikes that decrease in size. The tallest adds a good 12 inches to his height. He has purple eyes, and his face usually wears a calm, flat expression. He has a silver collarpiece on his chest, inset with a large purple grid. His upper chest armor, shoulders, hands and lower legs are the same verdent green as his helmet. His lower chest and lower arms are also purple. There is a yellow triangle on the front of each of his purple knee guards, and his waist is black.
Mercury strides forward, stopping mere inches away from Twila and reaching out with a hand towards her head while she's still reaching up to remove the headset. The hand stops without actually touching her, but there seems to be some sort of static in the area, causing the human's hairs to rise while he extends a portion of his consciousness through the radio connection, searching for the other end. Once he has, he drops his arm and takes a step back, nodding in satisfaction. "Greetings, Mother." He's silent for another moment, as he diverts his attention elsewhere...
Twila Peterson stays still as she observes the Stardroid do as he will, not understanding what he is exactly doing or...accomplishing for that matter. She feels slightly awkward sitting there saying nothing so, in attempts to break her silence, the girl questions, "May I ask why you came to visit?"
Mercury nods in response. "Yes, you may. But it would perhaps be better if you waited for... 5 seconds, and then asked." So saying, he continues to look at Twila, although a fraction of his processing power flicks to a point about 6 feet behind him, where another blue disk opens up in the air, about 5 feet off the ground.
A few seconds later, two forms come tumbling through it...
"GREEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT SSSSSSSSSCCCCCCCCCCCCCOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTT!" The oath comes form the blue disc as if far away... then gets closer and closer as suddenly -blip!- Out pops Wily! He lands and rolls slightly, slowly using his cane to lever himself to his feet. His eyes darting about the room. "What?! Where?" Wily then looks towards Mercury. "Mercury... So glad you could... bring us..." Wily slowly brushes off his labcoat...
Twila Peterson jumps slighty as the tho individuals emerge from being transported. Well, heck...must be alot better than walking! "Um...yeah...so I see..." she manages, not knowing what to make of this. But, nothing within the past 3 days had really made too much since. "Doctor," she semi-greets, then stares a bit towards King, having never meet him before.
King stands at an ominous twelve feet of golden height, directly behind his creator, Dr. Wily. In hand he holds the Executioner's Axe, a mighty weapon of fifteen feet in height, with a blade of nearly six itself decorating the handle. With a swipe of his crimson optics, he surveys the area, the teleportation or whathaveyou coming as to a shock of his systems.
Mercury disperses the disk with another thought, turning his full attention back to Twila. "Now, you may ask your questions, Twila Peterson. The information I have come to impart should be heard by the Corruptor, as well." He turns his head slightly, and nods to Wily, not seeming nonplused in the least at bringing him directly into Hunter HQ. He supposes he could have brought Twila up to the Wily Star instead, but that would have been noticed by others whose attention he's trying to avoid.
Dr. Wily slowly he smirks... listening to these words. "Ahh... More questions... good." Wily brushes himself off and stands tall, reaching up to straighten his skeleton tie... his eyes regarding Mercury intently... He lets his labcoat billow slightly as he stands... a small figure before the massive size of King. Corruptor... hmm... a Better title perhaps then Perverter? Both serve him...
(Ch. D [None]) Agile transmits: '*UNCLICK* Are we ever gunna do the thing with the nuke?'.
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Doubtful. Now... Silence! No chatter! Zero! Nadda! Nix! None! NOW!'.
Twila Peterson blinkblinks towards the Stardroid. Questions? She has questions? Well, yes...but some of this she's forced to wonder if she would actually get a straight answer or...another riddle to solve. "So...you came basically came to offer a question-answer session?" she asks, not out of sarcasm, but more out of surprised curiosity.
Mercury nods to both Wily and Twila, crossing one of his legs over the other and floating up into the air, assuming a sitting position where he has the both of them in his field of vision. "That is correct... in a manner. I am prevented from giving you answers to questions you already have the means to solve. But I can help you towards an understanding of what to do with that which you already possess."
(Ch. D []) Colonel transmits: ' Calm yourself doctor, spiting out words of in anger will do us no good in the end.. As for Agile, no we shall not, we will end this with the least amount of Violence that we can muster..'.
(Ch. D [None]) Agile transmits: 'And you think that is possible? They have already attacked.'.
Dr. Wily nods slowly, he spins his cane lightly and brings it down to the floor with a tap, jauntily leaning on it as he regards Mercury. "Interesting... I have many questions indeed. Your answer of the last time gave me a good hint indeed... and I thank you for it." Wily nods to the Gel Stardroid. "I would be honored to ask you some further questions as well."
(Ch. D []) Colonel transmits: ' Agile, this is not the place for this.. If you wish to speak with someone on militaristic issues regarding the violent natures of this war then come see me.. im in the stadium.. For I will gladly show you exactly how war is..'.
Twila Peterson flickers a glance towards the old man and his Robot Master before flickering her gaze back towards Mercury. She's not certain if this is a good first question to ask, but if anything may believed of what Mercury states...it must be asked. Although, the Stardroid's presence may be indication enough...perhaps. "Are you...in agreement with Duo's decision regarding Earth?"
Dr. Wily nods slowly, a smile spreading on his lips.
King's digits ripple across the face of his staff, his crimson optics befalling the abnormal frame of the Stardroid Mercury. Turning to his creator before him, he leans and inquires.
King whispers to Dr. Wily: '... he providing us with a trio ... inquiries ... ... ...'.
Mercury nods, and sighs. First, he addresses Wily. "You may do so, but I advise you to choose your questions carefully. My time here is limited, and choosing to pursue futile threads would not be wise." He then shifts his gaze to Twila, his violet eyes locking onto hers for a moment, as he says in all earnestness, "I am a being of Chaos. It is not in my nature to agree with those of Order. While we may both be working towards the same end, we can never use the same means to achieve that end, even thought the results may appear similar. I do not agree with the decision over the fate of this planet, nor the means being used to carry out that decision."
Dr. Wily raises a hand before king, as if to signal... 'Not Now'
King snorts abruptly at the reply he is given, and looks back to Mercury, silent.
Mercury shifts his gaze slowly towards King at his mention of Libra, and his eyes harden almost instantly. And oddly enough, it doesn't seem to be King that he's thinking unpleasant thoughts about.
The Mad Doctor regards Mercury for long moments, nodding. "Ahh... thank you. And no futile threats will be persuade, Herald. And if you disagree with the decision... I have a question for you... We try to save our world... to reverse the Judgment placed upon us. We try to survive. There may be other ways to do this... but one path has been enlightened for us... We are going to free the Stardroid... Terra. In order to do so we must obtain the Keys from you and your fellows... as well as your leader... Duo. I ask you for this world... would you give us yours?" Wily speaks eloquently and fluidly... regarding Mercury with respect in his gaze and sincerity in his voice.
The girl offers a puzzled expression. If Chaos doesn't agree with the decision, then that must mean---. But Twila doesn't voice her opinion aloud. Such would be a wasted breath considering the conclusion. She offers the mad scientist a bare nod before turning back towards the mech. She was wondering the same actually. But there's also something else she's wondering.
Mercury shakes his head. "I have no Key to give you. There has been a misunderstanding over the nature of the Keys. There is no tangible or intangible substance to the Keys you seek. You must possess the Keys to understanding to gain control over your own destiny. If you become capable of understanding the true nature of..." The Stardroid hesitates, and changes what
Twila Peterson furrows her brow slightly, "And, some of you represent certain aspects of what we as a race are being judged on?"
Mercury pauses, and then adds, "Also, things are not what they seem. Order is just as capable of destruction as it is capable of creation, while Chaos is both the origin and the end of life. The only constant is that the two will always oppose one another. Which one of the two wishes to destroy your world is inconsequential, as the other will champion it." He nods at Twila, leaning forward slightly as his eyes glimmer in interest. "That is correct."
Dr. Wily slowly nods... his brow furrowing in concentration. "I see..." The Mad Doctor looks back up to Mercury, regarding him for long moments. "You have given me a clue, Mercury. I thank you. As for these keys... What is the understand you can give us that serves as the key to Terra's Prison?" Wily arches... -The Brow- ...regarding Mercury intently.
King snorts with a bit of disgust and erects to his fullest grandeur, standing witness to this conversation between the being from the cosmos.
.oO('Truth is lies and lies are truth'.)Oo. Twila ponders silently to herself. She narrows her gaze momentarily, thoughts falling on the Stardroid Eclipse of all people...of what she knows of his function as well as, it's violation. And the Historian...what was it she had been heard saying? After a brief time her eyes widen and then blink. Apparently something had occurred to her. .oO(The Watcher...no longer merely Watching...)Oo. She turns a gaze towards Wily again, and waits for his question to be answered before voicing her own.
King snorts with a bit of disgust and erects to his fullest grandeur, folding his cobalt tapestry laced upon his backside throughout the palm of his hand, standing witness to this conversation between the being from the cosmos.
Mercury looks at both Twila and Wily, and then shifts his gaze over to King thoughtfully, before looking up at the ceiling. "The understanding that I bring is one of Knowledge. Within me exists the combined knowledge of thousands of worlds. Some of those still exist today, while most of them do not, having either been destroyed by their Judgment, or having destroyed themselves sometime after passing the Judgment. Within each being at the time of their creation exists the knowledge of both life and death, as well as that of their own destiny. Each of you posses the keys to your own salvation or destruction, and it is the path you choose that will determine which fate becomes yours."
Twila Peterson remains silent for a few moments more before questioning, "What would be your function, or how are you referred? And...what would be the Zodic known as Libra's? Is she working for Chaos? Or...against?" She then adds belatedly, "Or for both order and chaos' destruction?"
Dr. Wily nods slowly... absorbing the words of the Stardroid for long moments... his eyes closing and brow furrowing in thought... He simply leans on his cane "I see, Mercury. So... Each key is knowledge and understanding gained from the Stardroids... May I ask... how may we obtain them from the others? Pluto was most unwilling to help... he is blinded by his own plots and devices..." Wily slowly opens his eyes and looks up to Mercury. "How may we obtain the keys to our salvation from the 9?"
Mercury frowns at the question. "I have been called many names, on many different worlds. On each, my function is the same as it always is. My domain is that of knowledge. Not information, like my fellow Stardroid Eclipse. He deals in facts, while my property is the knowledge of HOW to apply those facts."
Once again, his expression darkens, his facial features fading slightly to mask his growing displeasure, becoming more indistinct. "Like me, Libra is of Chaos, but she is not working towards Chaos. Through her own actions, she has nearly become responsible for condemning this world to certain destruction. She will be dealt with."
Twila Peterson offers a nod, some understanding filtering in. She turns towards Wily. Although the question was directed towards Mercury she wonders, "He may already be telling us now..."
Mercury shakes his head, with an almost sad smile. "Pluto *was* trying to help you, in his own unfathomable way, even if he does not fully understand himself. His Key is Death; and he was trying to impart it in the only way he knows how. To gain his Key, one would have to brave certain destruction, to gain the understanding of the true nature of Oblivion. This may prove to be impossible, so alternately, you can defeat him. His defeat will signal that Death has been overcome; He who conquers Death becomes Death. He who is Death understands Death."
Twila Peterson then states, "And...Neptune. I remember him in times past trying to aid the Hunters. What...exactly his his function?" She then blinks twice, wondering if that's top be found out on their own. Regardless, "Although...once the keys are obtained, how are then used to free Terra? How's the lock finally opened?"
Mercury says, "Also, your numbers are inaccurate. I have given you my Key now. It is up to you to come to an understanding of what it means. Sunstar's key is already in your possession; the realization of Ultimate Oblivion. Not merely an end to life, but absolute destruction of everything you have known. Eclipse has forfeited his key by his very actions, and the Mother possesses Duo's Key, although she doesn't yet realize it."
Twila Peterson does a double-take at that last piece of info. "................."
Dr. Wily nods slowly to Mercury... and he quotes... " 'I am Become Death... Destroyer of Worlds' " Wily shakes his head and looked up to Mercury. "And what could you tell us of the others? The slow and ponderous giant bull, Uranus? The Guardian of the Sea, Neptune? The Methodical and Strong, Venus? The Mysterious and enigmatic, Saturn? The Stardroid of war, Mars? And the Flighty and Mad, Jupiter?" Wily runs down the list of the 6 others they do not know. Wily then looks to Twila... arching a brow... then slowly returns his gaze to Mercury. "I thank you for all the information you have imparted already."
King snorts, his fingers idly loosening and tightening themselves upon the shaft of the prominent Executioner's Axe. "Pluto's defeat shall bring us to hold five of the nine?"
Mercury lowers his gaze from the ceiling, looking at Twila with what seems to be a slightly sad gaze. "You will know what to do when the time comes. Each key is merely part of something larger. Once you have all of the Keys, you will put them together and possess the Ultimate Truth, which will free Terra, and show you your true power.
Mercury nods to King. "That is correct."
The Mad Doctor's mind is working like mad as he comes to understand a good deal of what Mercury has been telling them.
King optics narrow as he ponders this revelation. "We have been in possession of three of the keys, and not even known it?" He shakes his head, deeming such nigh impossible. "Pluto's demise shall come swift, in any event, and the fifth key shall be had."
Mercury pauses for a moment, the billions of tiny processors that make up his being working overtime to translate the information he already knows into a form that is capable of being understood by the human mind, in the clumsy form of communication that is verbal speech. "From Uranus, you will obtain an understanding of Simplicity; Nature at it's most basic level, without any of the complexities or misdirections that confuse or alter intentions. I warn you, however, do not assume that this means that he is not intelligent. There is a very well-defined line between Simple and Stupid, and crossing it with him is ill-advised."
Dr. Wily nods slowly. "I understand..." Wily looks to Mercury. "I will take your warning to heart."
Twila Peterson feels a cold shudder run the length of her spine as a thought she has held ever since that one incident a few weeks ago occurred. But she keeps silent on this as well. Her mind, momentarily blank, attempts to restart itself as best as it can. "And...we only have roughly 5 days..." she muses before standing up within her seat. Towards Uranaus's description she asks, "Instinct?"
King glances to Wily as he speak, then levels his gaze back to Mercury in quick motion of his helm. The Elites have set Jupiter as their target, and he shall take this opportunity to acquire any information he can. "And of Jupiter?", he boldly inquires.
Mercury eyes King scrutinizingly for a moment, already knowing what he's thinking about, and shrugs. "Jupiter represents Discipline, and the lack of it. To receive his Key, you must gain an understanding of what focus allows you to achieve, as well as what lack of focus allows you to perceive."
Twila Peterson wonders if there's a way they can learn of these from other sources, Earth's sources. "Mercury, do the names you take from the planets, the same ones taken from Greek/Roman mythology...do they hold some answers as well?"
King believes himself to be very well disciplined. His disciplinarian, however, is but of course Dr. Wily, so such is in debate. "Discipline?" he echoes to no one in particular. "....then the Elite are the perfect for to battle him! Together we are conformed, together we are as one, together, we are unbeatable!"
Twila Peterson refrains from rolling her eyes towards King. Yeesh...
Dr. Wily regards Mercury for a long time. "Will defeating the Stardroids that oppose us... like the defeat of Pluto... give us answers as well to the keys we seek?" Wily ponders this over, stroking one side of his mustache. "I would rather do it though peace then having to destroy them... like how you are helping us now. But if they will not... will defeating them also allow us to overcome the tests and realizations they hold?"
King snorts once again, noting Twila's hesitation to provide him with a look of distaste. "We know full well the potential of discipline, Ms. Peterson, the Mother of our Earth, or so you have been deemed. Mocking such facts is but a lurid, careless judgment!" He shakes his head, turning back to Mercury, "The one of Discipline, Jupiter, he is sided with the Order?"
Mercury smirks slightly, returning his gaze to King. "That is good. You will need that unity in the days to come." He nods barely to Twila, affixing her with his gaze for a moment, and then answering her question. "It will be of some use, perhaps. This is not the first time I have set foot on this planet, and this is not the first time I have deemed it necessary to impart knowledge." He doesn't say anything more on the matter, however, turning his attention back to Wily. "Yes. Overcoming the trials each Stardroid presents to you will bring you to an understanding of what each of us represents. In fact, those of us who will refuse to impart our keys to you will have to be overcome by force."
Dr. Wily nods slowly... understanding in his eyes and manner. "Thank you, Herald. I have one final question for you." Wily slowly raises his gaze, looking to Mercury for long moment. "When will they arrive?" There is a hollow... resolute note in his voice.
Mercury begins to lower to the ground, uncrossing his feet so that he may stand. He glances at Wily with a slightly puzzled look. "When will who arrive?" His feet touch the ground, and he stands under his own power again, glancing at his wrist as a small screen of some sort parts the fluid surface of his arm, flashing a red warning. "Hrmph..."
Dr. Wily looks to Mercury, then nods. "The Descent of your kindred. Eclipse and Terra warned they all will come to the world... very soon." Wily look to the small screen that opens, -The Brow- arching. "Something the matter, my friend?" Wily looks back to Mercury with an arched brow.
Twila Peterson turns her gaze towards Wily. "Have a feeling not too long from now..." she muses from what is occurring. She notices Mercury's state. "He's...almost out of time I think..." She then notes, "Thank you....for your help. We appreciate it deeply. Uh...I'd like to ask once more as well. My counterpart, the individual was spoken of before: Rock?"
Mercury glances at Wily with that same puzzled expression, before dawning understands. "You were mislead. The Descent...is beyond my ability to explain. We will come down to the Earth, and walk among your people, if your world manages to survive." He waves a hand at the wall, causing that blue disk to reappear on it. "My time here is almost at an end, as the Mother has said. I will return you to the place I summoned you from." He turns to answer Twila, glancing at the light on his wrist, which is flashing more rapidly with each passing minute. "What of the Chosen One?"
Twila Peterson ers, relaizing she hadn't made herself clear, or perhaps she did, playing out a hunch. In either case, "I think you just answered it..."
Twila Peterson takes a step back then, to indicate she won't keep the Stardroid any longer.
The Mad Doctor slowly nods, "I see..." Wily slowly nods, a smile slowly coming to his lips. "Then, Mercury... I thank you greatly..." Wily looks to him. "If you could intervene when the time comes to aid... It would be also most appreciated. Thank you for giving me your key... Would I perhaps quote it back to you if I may see if I am right?"
Mercury shakes his head, finally realizing the conflict in the question. "The one you call Rock is not your counterpart. The Chosen One's counterpart is Chaos' Will, the one you know as Bass."
King grips the staff of the Executioner with both hands, closing his crimson optics, awaiting to be brought back to the Wily Star. "Jupiter's end is at hand, and a swift downfall it shall be."
Twila Peterson blinks. "Then...who is my counterpart?" she asks quickly.
Dr. Wily turns his gaze to Twila...regarding her for long moments, then he looks to Mercury.
Mercury nods to Wily, seemingly growing more brusque. Or perhaps he's in a hurry... "I will give you what assistance I can, but direct action is outside of my ability. Ask your final question." He doesn't seem to answer Twila...
Dr. Wily nods... and quotes... "The Revelation that only we can decide our own fate... We each have our own Salvation and Destruction within us... and only we may decide which occurs."
Mercury nods. "Correct. The decision may be made consciously or unconsciously, but in the end, the power to decide lies in your hand."
Twila Peterson double blinks at that. If it's not Rock, perhaps Doppler? A sudden other thought comes to mind and she wonders if it happens to be neither. Instead...someone else. She merely shakes her head, not venturing to ask again, only. "Get home safely."
Dr. Wily nods and bows deeply and regally to Mercury. "Thank you, Herald. Farewell. I can obtain passage home myself... I shall not keep you." Wily smiles to him.
Here, a small video feed of Venus attacking a small hotel and tourist area in South Carolina, explosions and spouts of water blasting.
"We will keep you updated as to the status of the attack. The attack was unexpected, and no evacuation was prepared. This is GNN News."
Dr. Wily looks up as a GNN broadcast flashes. "It begins..."
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: 'It's deploy time!'.
<Global News Network> GNN interrupts. Whee. "This is a special alert from GNN News. The Eastern Seaboard is under attack by the Stardroid who previously attacked Florida: Venus! Our information is sketchy, at the moment, but we have reports that whole areas of land have sunk into underground rivers and lakes."
Here, a small video feed of Venus attacking a small hotel and tourist area in South Carolina, explosions and spouts of water blasting.
"We will keep you updated as to the status of the attack. The attack was unexpected, and no evacuation was prepared. This is GNN News."'.
(Ch. D [None]) Vigilant Python transmits: 'I'm aquatic; you want me to go take a look or is it taken care of?'.
Twila Peterson .oO(..............)Oo.
King, startled by the GNN broadcast, awakens from his awaiting for Stardroid teleportation to view the many screens within the corridor. "Another strikes!", he duly points out to the others, stepping up behind Wily. "Our time to fight! To gain a fifth key!"
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: 'We ought to group up on a ship, and fly there.'.
Mercury nods, and waves his hand in front of the portal again, causing the blue disk to shift hues and presumably change destinations. The light on his wrist has become a solid red, just before the broadcast, and he sighs. "I intended to be done before this, to give you time to prepare."
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'All warriors! Gather at San Angeles Stadium!'.
(Ch. D [None]) Vigilant Python transmits: 'Advantage. Already there. Preparing to move.'.
(Ch. D [None]) Agile transmits: 'I'm in.'.
Dr. Wily nods to Mercury. "Fear not... We will be ready. We move to deal with Venus."
(Ch. D [None]) King transmits: 'The fifth key shall be obtained! Prepare yourselves!'.
Mercury nods. "Do you wish to be transported to the location?" Mercury neglects to mention that the attack wasn't exactly unexpected. Not by him, anyways...
(Ch. D [None]) Mirage Hyena transmits: 'I'm coming along too! You guys might need a medic if things go bad!'.
Twila Peterson turns briefly towards the incoming broadcast, offering only a stare at the monitor. Seems as if she'll be conferring with Wily when it settles a little...
Dr. Wily looks to King. "I do. King, Go rally the forces and lead them in the Stadium. I will go." Wily turns, a dark smile on his face.
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'All forces! Maintain position at the Stadium!'.
(Ch. D [None]) Vigilant Python transmits: 'Er...I'd rather not have you as the only medic. No 'fense.'.
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Do not Engage yet, I repeat. Do not engage yet!'.
(Ch. D [None]) Chi transmits: 'Chi confirms, holding position.'.
Dr. Wily looks to King. "Teleport to San An. GO!"
(Ch. D [Alliance]) Roll transmits: 'He's not the only medic, I am on standby in the refurbished Reploid Room.'.
(Ch. D [None]) Vigilant Python transmits: 'Vigil confirms, grouping in Stadium.'.
(Ch. D [Robot-Masters]) Iris transmits: 'I take it someone came up with some superintelligentobviously-goingtowork way to defeat the Stardroids and save the day?'.
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'HmuHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You ain't just whistling dixie!'.
(Ch. D [None]) Vigilant Python transmits: 'Good. No 'fense, but I don't want Mavericks anywhere near my inside bits.'.
(Ch. D [Robot-Masters]) Iris transmits: 'Ah, good. Let me know when its over.'.
(Ch. D [Alliance]) Roll transmits: 'Understood, Vigilant, we'll be waiting for you.'.
Dr. Wily looks to king and points towards the Teleportation chamger as he slowly walks towards the portal. "Send me there, Mercury. I may be old... but I am /not/ defenseless!"
King snatches up his axe and twirls it about his hands before bringing it to idleness beneath his arm. "At once, milord!"
Dr. Wily says, "Keep the forces on hold untill I give the order!"
King says, "Aye!" King enters the Teleportation Chamber--Hunter HQ.
Dr. Wily looks to Mercury. "Thank you, Mercury. Time for this Madman to go speak with Venus."
Mercury walks towards the disk, waiting for Wily. He glances back at Twila, and says quietly in response to her final question. "You know who your counterpart is, on some level. Someone who has always acted against you. Chaos opposes Order, and Order opposes Chaos. Neither of them will ever be able to destroy the other, but they will never coexist happily." He turns back around, walking into the portal without another word, leaving Twila to mull over the answer she received.
Dr. Wily lets out a smile, and leaps up and though the portal with a mad cackle! Dr. Wily he doesn't hear the words of Mercury...
Twila Peterson remains where she is, already knowing she's not really allowed to leave the base without supervision. So, she has little choice on whether or not to go or stay...if she follows orders. She thinks several thoughts as King helps himself to the teleport chamber...knowing well Security is going to LOVE this. She turns back towards Mercury as he leaves...left to indeed ponder...
<Time passes...>
Twila Peterson is presently sitting at a terminal, wearing a headset. At the moment she's alone but for Michael's cat who's lounging at the corner. She seems in quite a bit of thought however, and not listing much to the radio channel...not that there's much for her to listen to anyway...
Behind Twila, there comes the sound of the tinkling of soft bells, like a windchime. And then a flash of silver light, a lithe, delicate female stepping from the portal.
Twila Peterson pulls away from the terminal at first and looks to the floor...wondering if Kyo decided to wonder into the room since, when the cabbit allow it, she also walks with a light tinkling of a bell. However, when she realizes there's more than one, and the sound is more louder, she discards that notion. Doing so is confirmed by lifting her head and seeing the flash of light once again reflected within the monitor's glass screen. Here eyes widen slightly. Has Mercury re---. Turning around she finds it is indeed not Mercury, but another of his kind. She overlooks her carefully, thinking she recognizes her from elsewhere. Yesterday perhaps...from the broadcast? "H---Hello."
Luna/Selene: Before you floats a rather gorgeous, and overtly humanoid, robot. Recognizable on an exterior level, she looks the same as any reploid: more humanish than robotic. Her slender body is about 5'6" in height, and moves with a grace and poise not seen much. Long, silvery-white hair flows from her head, pulled up into an odango-atama style, with two trailing ponytails. Her body is clad in a silvery dress, glinting in the light all around. From her back extend a set of gossamer fairy wings. Indigo eyes look out from a pale face, lips colored a bit of a rose shade. On her forehead sits a golden tiara with an indigo gem centered in it.
Luna stands before Twila, quite simply, clutching a red-leather-bound book in her crossed arms. You can make out the words, 'The History' embossed in gold upon the book. She gives a nod, and a serene smile to Twila. "Greetings, The Mother. I am Selene, Historian."
If...Twila does indeed recognize the Stardroid from the day before, she's careful not to allow it to show. If anything there's only a barest trace of recognition found before it's wiped away. She removes the headset and moves to stand. "Others have reported you...arrived yesterday," she states, remembering well that this is the one who's sworn to destroy Eclipse. "To what do I owe this visit?"
Meanwhile, the alliance channel continues to be broadcasted over the speakers, although as a minor level. Some of the Masters are rather tiresome to tolerate.
"This visit is in the name of History," she replies softly. "You are The Key, and you are a key figure in this transpiring History."
Twila Peterson nods slowly in response. "How so?" she questions, slightly tilting her head to the left.
Luna smiles a bit, "The Key is inside of you. You will recognize it. It is already written."
Twila Peterson ohs. Then again, there are differing versions one might look on regarding the 'key' as well. Twila perhaps one not being addressed, or so she supposes. She stands there, silently for a few moments before stating, "Knowledge?"
Luna smiles slightly, giving a slight nod. "A speck in the infinitesimal knowledge of the universe."
Twila Peterson raises a hand up to her head and blinks. She just had an earlier Stardroid visit not long before this one. Simply stating, alot's going through her mind right now. "I see..." she muses, trying to think of what to say. "Are...you here to help me understand---."
"This small bit of help I give you is for the benefit of The History I record," Luna replies. "It is up to you to decide how to interpret it."
Twila pauses as another entrance is made into the room and she tosses the human hunter a glance.
The girl refocuses on the Stardroid and offers a nod in acknowledgment. "Alright..." she states meekly.
Luna nods a little at Twila. "Just remember. You are the Key, and you will know what to do when you must do it." And she fades away, as her alt needs much attention.
Twila Peterson dips her chin, barely able to offer, "Thank you..." to the otherworldly visitor before she completely disappears.
<After a brief time passes and Rick has entered the room...>
Twila Peterson then suddenly glances up, sudden realization sinking in. "Libra...*that's* why she was contacting Wily..."
Rick Morgan is sitting in a, playing watchdog duty. So thusly, he happens to tilt his head up, arching an eyebrow slowly. "Hrmmm?"
(Ch. D []) Dr. Doppler transmits: 'The raptors troop compartments should suffice, all the wounded can be boarded there for a speedier journey back.'.
Twila Peterson didn't even noticed when her brother had walked in since she was too preoccupied with many of her thoughts. "Wily...Dr. Wily is my counterpart!" she blurts unexpectedly as she informs her brother.
Soon after the girl makes herself a horrid face as the realization sinks in. "Ugh!"
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Get everyone onboard the Raptor.'.
Rick Morgan just blinks...then blinks again, and stares. It really hasn't sunk in for -him- just yet, other than what Twila just stated about Wily being her counterpart or somesuch. As it is, the only thing to come out of his mouth right now is...
"Huh?"
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Oh yes... Ward Gargoyle most likely needs assistance... I noted him fall into the ocean thanks to the blast...'.
(Ch. D [None]) King transmits: '...we shall prevail.'.
(Ch. D []) Zero transmits: '...Is that the last that all of you are attempting tonight?'.
Whoah boy....but it does make sense. At least to Twila. "*That's* why Libra was visiting me...and *him* And that must have been why Mercury teleported him here only a little while ago." As if security is going to be really happy to hear of that little tidbit. "He's my counterpart and I'm his..." It takes a few moments for her glance towards her sibling. "Libra was stating that if she took me down then my counterpart would be destroyed as well. I just realized who that was. And why that person was asked to strike me down..."
Rick Morgan just blinks...again, staring at Twila for the longest moment.
Then, he just lowers his head and places his face in his hands.....giving a low groan.
"I never really drank before but maybe now is a good time to start..."
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'We have two keys, Zero... If another Stardroid arrives. We shall claim another.'.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Mind sharing the key, Doctor?"'.
(Ch. D []) Zero transmits: 'I see...Seems a lot of our people got mangled out there, or at least some fo them. I'll do what I can if you decide to try another.'.
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'But of course my dear...'.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: '...............'.
Twila Peterson is just able to...blinkblink towards Rick. "Does it help to know 'counterpart' means direct opposite?"
Rick Morgan sighs, and tilts his head up just enough to peer through his fingers back at Twila. "I suppose..." he mutters. "What's next now? The dish running away with the spoon? Learning that Doppler has a son born to him from a reploid with one leg? This is turning into something out of a soap opera or somethin."
Twila Peterson grunts. "Hey, it's the end of the world, remember? Expect things to be just at least a little out of the normal range." She offers a sigh and relates, "Rick, Mercury was here and brought Dr. Wily and King here. He gave us information regarding the Keys."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: "By the way, do you realize we're counterparts?"
Dr. Wily sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "And...how do you come to this conclusion?"
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'I will address you all in the Stadium when the wounded are tended to.'.
Rick Morgan blinks agian, then sighs and lets one hand rest on the countertop, as he slowly starts tapping one finger on the surface. "Alrighty...let's hear it. Thankfully it sounds like we're making some headway finally, so maybe we can finally start puzzling this out."
Twila Peterson nods and adjusts her headset slightly. "Apparently the keys are 'knowledge' and each of the Stardroids represents a judgment for which the planet is being condemned for. Example, not knowing leads to complete oblivion of what we know. That's Sunstar. Mercury states his was collecting data and imparting knowledge. It's up to us on what we do with it. Eclipse's, as we were told, forfeited his last night. He's no longer watching. No longer committing the sin of omission. Pluto's is the key of death...and understanding death. And..." At this her mouth does a little dry... "I...possess Duo's.'
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: "Aside from our personalities and standings...Probably the reason why we were *both* approached by Libra as well as why you were brought here when Mercury stopped for a visit."
Dr. Wily sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "... Great Scott! Your right! Curse her...Curse her!!! Libra will pay for this... Can you imagine what would have happened if I killed you?!?!"
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: "It would hurt?"
Dr. Wily sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "... She would have killed me afterwards!"
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: "I know. That's why I wanted to know who to counterpart was. She said if I was destroyed so would be my opposite.'"
Dr. Wily sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "*The sound of angry panting* Curse her... I will destroy her... this I swear."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: "And you're suprised? You were the one wanting to work with her."
Dr. Wily sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Quite... I am also /very/ angry!"
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: "Duh..."
Rick Morgan listens for a long moment, and tilts his gaze to the floor, before giving a long sigh, and tilting back in his seat. "Aye yi yi..." he mutters. "Soundin like some bad script for a video game in alot of ways. Collect the keys to get the treasure so to speak..."
Twila Peterson dips her chin towards Rick. "Yeah...it does, doesn't it? Only the 'treasure is our own survival and that of our planet," she states. She lets out a sigh. "Say, would you be able to escort me to the stadium when Wily addresses the alliance? I feel I need to be there."
Rick Morgan blinks, raising both eyebrows, but he gives a slow nod. "Hey...yeah sure." he offers. "After the proof of what just happened today...I think it would be safe doing this."
You send a tightbeam radio transmission to Dr. Wily: "Anyway...if you could broadcast when the meeting is about to start after the wounded are tended to.."
Dr. Wily sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Yes... I will..."
Twila Peterson nods slowly. "Would...deeply appreciate it." She glances back towards her personal notes and let's out a sigh. "Mercury stated *I* possessed Duo's 'key'. That must be why Libra wants me dead. But...I don't get it. Libra is an agent of Chaos but she's working on her own in this. Merc stated her actions are what's nearly causing the planet to be destroyed."
Rick Morgan sighs. "Well we've seen some of the Stardroids go against Duo. Why wouldn't Libra go against Chaos if she wanted? Perhaps she's got her -own- agenda throughout all of this."
"Destruction? She was the one who's trying to ruin any chance this planet has. She's the one who tried to kill me, then get Wily to do so, then she wiped the files we had on the Stardroids, and now she's the one who's trying to get rid of Eclipse...the one who's been protecting me..." Twila gets out. "By the way, before you asked, Wily didn't take the thought of me being my counterpart to well...especially since he realized if I died, he would have been next on her hit list."
Rick Morgan snorts ever so audibly. "Nice to hear his concern." he offers dryly, tilting back in his seat a bit. He then sighs and shakes his head. "Yeah, maybe she's trying to sabotage all chances we have. Though what she has against -our- planet I don't know. I get the impression it's like a being a delinquent in a way....throwing a temper tantrum when she doesn't get what she wants." Twila Peterson is forced to agree with that. "Although, I'm confused. If...she's working for Chaos...then why is she doing what she is? Chaos, when he was here the other night, stated he was me and...I was him."
Rick Morgan sighs again. "I dunno Twila..." he grunts, placing his head in his hands all over again. "I just dunno. My head's startin to hurt from all of this."
Twila opens her mouth to speak again, but falls silent at her sibling's groan. She gets out of her seat and wraps her arms around his shoulders, embracing him. .oO(How do you think my head feels?!)Oo. "Hang in there, Rick...kay?"
<And...in a brief visit to where Wily is tending to the wounded...>
Dr. Wily turns his gaze to Zero as he rises, walking over to him. "Because, boy!" Wily yells right at him. "When she nearly hired me to kill Twila. She said in order to balance it her 'Counterpart' would need to be destroyed as well. And...I AM HER COUNTERPART!!!!" Wily lets out a snarl as he turns.
Zero snaps his gaze up, roaring out as equally loud as he commented it. "You're her WHAT?!" He growls and rolls his eyes, "The Stardroids have a sick sense of humor. This proves it." He kicks his boot against the wall, leaning against it to further support his weight, "Either way, what's that mean for everything, Wily?"
"It doesn't mean anything to you, boy in this scheme..." Wily returns, "this is personal."
