Rooftop Runway <Hunter HQ>
While it bears a fancy name and important function, this chamber is really no more than a glorified garage where the vehicles and Ride Armor sit when not in use or while being maintenance. Large storage closets are against the back wall, directly across from the hangar doors that lead out into the Neo-Tokyo sky.
The day in Neo-Tokyo is bright and cheery... but something new is coming... moving though the clouds something slowly slips though the atmosphere... something shiny and metallic... It's gray cigar shape can be barely distinguished from the Clouds.
Blues comes flying out of nowhere, and lands on the edge of the roof, stumbling slightly and flipping his scarf back around his neck. He glances slightly to the left and right with a tilt of his head, noting the presence of Cossack and Twila, and then begins to head towards them slowly, as if it's nothing unusual for him to come falling out of the sky.
Dr. Pavel Cossack nods taking one of the wires and inserting it into his handy diagnostic tool he carries on his belt clip. "Ok Kevin! I'm going to run the 3 on 41.2 and then let's see if the 4.7 can handle some stimulated conditions on the vings?" he chuckles as he gets the thumbs out from his coworkers. "I'd suggest you back up a little distance. Nothing SHOULD happen but around..." he leaves it open-ended. This place is dangerous!
Twila Peterson hmms and pauses for a moment. "By the way, Zero made it back to base yet? He left in a huff last night." In one of his rages of course. he's just so goshdarned temperamental of a lad. And he didn't even allow Twila to finish his repairs. Lovely. She's about to open her mouth to say more until Blues makes a rather interesting appearance not far away. "Uh...hello..." Twila Peterson makes it a point not too stand but from a small distance from where Cossack is working...so as not to distract him too much.
Dr. Pavel Cossack shakes his head. "I vas kinda busy vhat vith final details. This is a massive undertaking that could if the cards are dealt the vrong vay end up in doom for Light Labs! That's vhy I have to run testes on all functional systems every 12 hours! Ve vant this to vork and vork vell!" he shakes his head. "I pity Zero really he never had a strong father figure to guide him like Rock and Swing did!" he chuckles nodding over to the grim faced Protoman. "vhen'd you show up?"
The shape moves with the cloud bank... though something glints... like sunlight of glass... The cigar shape slowly moves closer though the sky... detaching from the cloud... perhaps it is just a puff of cloud that spit off from the main? Twila Peterson doesn't particularly have her gaze skyward at the moment. So, she isn't paying attention to any airborne objects or UFOs. A turn of the head allows her to catch the tiny glint from above but for a moment. Unfortunately, she turns away thinking it to be a commercial aircraft before she grows suspicious of it's possible direction.
Blues continues walking towards the pair, intending to head right past them. Without saying anything, it appears, until he replies with a curt nod to Twila, and simply says to Cossack, without a trace of humor, "I just thought I'd drop in." Protoman, master of the deadpan joke. He arches a brow behind his shades at Twila, having overheard her mention of Zero, and stops for just a moment. "Blonde Jovi isn't around, is he? I'm definitely -not- in the mood to deal with another idiot tonight."
Twila Peterson turns back towards the android as he approaches and perks an eyebrow, already aware of the dislike he and Zero have for one another. "Uh, no...at least not to my knowledge. He left last night and hasn't come back yet. If he is, I'm not aware." After a short pause she questions, "'Another' idiot?" More than one?
Dr. Pavel Cossack glowers "Neither am I." But he makes sure not to say too loud. After all he has his respects. He saved his kid and is actually a positive influence on her. He glances down at the monitor grinning and checks the manual gauges. "Vell the repairs are a success. The project can move ahead finally." he smiles and reaches into his pocket for a dirty wash rag "Been in here since 6 in the morning fine tuning my baby so she'd purry like a kitten." he smiles patting the vorpal on the underside. "This vill make history."
Blues nods at the answers of the two, and is about to walk off again, until he stops, and leans in close towards Twila. He just peeeeeeeeeeeers at her oddly for a moment, apparently studying something.
The 'cloud' seems to be moving directly for the base now at a fast clip from the looks... it appears to be a cigar shape moving though the sky at a high velocity... it moves up.. down... left... right... almost as if to confirm that this /is/ nothing of the ordinary. *GASP!* Could it be? Get the CamCorders! It's a UFO!
Dr. Pavel Cossack shaks his head "Do you vant someting Blues? If not, pick up a spanner and let's get vorking. There's a lot to do Silent vonder." Slouching over certain spots making notes in his note book.
Twila Peterson offers Blue's a startled blink, particularly at the way he seems to be looking towards her. "Uh...what----?" she's about to ask until she gets distracted by something above them, overhearing some sort of engine.. Not having seen the *thing* before it's understandable she doesn't know who, or what, it is. Most of what the scientist snorts to the android is lost as Twila points to the craft. "That's...not heading towards *us* is it?"
A sound... a very familiar sound to one of them... begins to fill the air...
*weeoo weeoo weeoo weeoo weeoo weeoo!*
Blues flicks his eyes towards Cossack, before going back to peering at Twila, and looks like he's about to say something, until she looks upwards and points out the UFO. He glances up, and just blinks... He shakes his head and mutters something quietly, and then glances back at Twila. "Why are you asking me? You're the one with all the alien acquaintances."
Twila Peterson turns her attention away from the craft for a brief moment to give a response. "Do I look like I keep the names and numbers in an address book?"
Dr. Pavel Cossack growls as he slides out of the underbelly "You could be a little civil my friend! It never hurts to respond to a lady in kind!" he wipes his hands off as he too joins the duo in gawking at the saucer. "Hmm Clearly manmade. Not an alien craft. I mean look at those impurities! Obsequiously a job of inferior vorkmanship!"
<Global News Network> News Flash: From the southernmost reaches of the planet. For reasons yet unknown, one of the structures of the largest oil refinery at the south pole of Antarctica has mysteriously collapsed, trapping and possibly kill dozens of workers within. We now switch you to our live feed with News Hound on site at the scene. *Image flickers to a canine reploid in a heavy parka with a mike, standing in the foreground of the crumbled remains of a large biulding behind him* As you can see, one of the refinery's pumping stations has collapsed and now lies in ruins behind me. The cause is of yet unknown, but workers attempting to clear out the injured from within have reported bizarre slash marks upon the support beams, as if someone or thing had rather easily slashed right through them. Outside observers only saw white blurr crash into the refinery area mere moments before the sudden collapse, and then was just as quickly gone. None of the various warring factions, Maverick, Robot Masters or otherwise, have claimed responsibility for thi--" *He's cut off suddenly by frantic shouts of 'It's back!' by various workers as the run by the camera, which immediately swivels off the reporter and towards the incoming force. Right before the viewers of the world the white blurr, in a cloud of snow and ice, plows straight INTO the side of another building. Mere seconds later the sides of the structure begins to erupt outwards as the assailant rips out the other side, and the entire building collapses in a cloud of rubble and smoke. Another cloud of ice crystals flows into the air as the mysterious form skids to a halt, and as it clears reveals a crouching white and purple, predominantly feline form, tail twitching slightly as he looks over his handiwork. The view flashes a moment, switching to a zoom in mugshot of his face, the fanged sneer upon it plainly evident.* "Ohmygod! It's another Stardroid! It's anoth--" *Pluto's ears twitch, and he turns right towards the camera, growls lowly, and then disappears as he moves away suddenly. Seconds later, the image goes into static as the feed is cut.*'.
Twila Peterson uhs and takes a step back. "So...I gather this would be your alien aquantaince then, Blues..."
The Saucer slowly moves closer to the roof, slowing down until it hovers there... and embossed apon the front is a familiar insignia... a Glowing Skull with a large letter W within... A laugh... a very familiar and chilling laugh comes from the craft... "HmuHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Then... the voice. "Ahh... I don't think I am that Alien... I may live in Outer Space at the moment..." The top hatch opens and out rises... Dr. Wily himself... "But that doesn't make me an alien."
Twila Peterson gulps. "Uh...I take that back. No one's alien, just a nutty old man in some sort of UFO from a B-rated Sci-Fi flick..."
Dr. Pavel Cossack shakes his head and snorts "See inferior vorkmanship! Vhat did I tell you. Vhat do you vant Viley?" his body tenses as he relieves the pain of losing Sasha, his daughter kidnapped by the mad man. his forced servitude to the obese dwarf. "If your selling encyclopedia glatica know. Ve're not interested."
Wily regards Cossack for a long moment then bursts out into laughter. "Ahh... Cossack... I missed that sense of Humor of yours." Wily chuckles as he leans back on his chair, the Saucer hovering there with it's characteristic sound of 'weeoo'. "As for Inferior workmanship... What do you call that?!" Wily motions at the Vorpal with a chuckle and a shake of his head as he looks to Twila. "Indeed, Twila... So /good/ to see you again." Oh... that was sincere...
Blues just crosses his arms over his chest and eyes Wily disdainfully, waiting patiently for him to begin his spiel. Well, maybe not so patiently, considering that the first words out of his mouth are: "Whatever you want to say, hurry up and say it. You have about 10 seconds, and then you're going to be flying back off this rooftop... whether it's inside or out of your little flying toy is up to you."
Dr. Pavel Cossack growls his eyes go wide. His fist balling into hated fist steps away trying to remain calm. "Should have put scaffolding over it." he mumbles angrily having his assistant be sure to train ever ride armor available upon that fool. "10...9..8"
Twila Peterson recalls what she had heard last night and refrains from saying anything ELSE derogatory to the mad man that happens to be on her mind. Although...she wouldn't be in the least upset if she were offered a chance to pelt him within the jaw just one more time. However, she does reluctantly whisper to Blues... You whisper 'There was mention that Sigma, and Wily are connecting with Repliforce, and wish to do so with us against these Stardroids. Prolly why he's here.' to Blues.
Wily turns his head to Blues as his hands rest over the controls of the craft. "I don't think so, Blues.... and so /good/ to see you as well I might add." Wily chuckles evily. "And Blues... I wouldn't be attacking me yet... as you see... we are on the Same Side!" Wily lets out a mad cackle as he smiles evilly. "So... I have come for Rock's decision... I assume it already made and favorably for me... and anyway, Blues... I would be well and gone before you even raised your Buster." Wily gives a sneer to them. "We have more important matters then old hatreds."
Twila Peterson states, "Rock was informed last night. He hasn't yet made a decision.' It's more than likely yes...but she's not going to speak for the Blue Bomber.
Blues shrugs at Twila's words, and just eyes Wily with a smirk. "Why is it that I'm never surprised that as soon as something that you can't handle pops up, you come running to us, no matter how 'inferior' we are to you?" He rolls his eyes behind his shades, and mutters. "Rock will be out to give you his decision whenever he decides to. Just sit around and wait on someone else for once in your life."
Dr. Pavel Cossack sighs and walks over to a chair residing in the inner depths and wheels it into the open. "Vhy don't you...sit down." feeling sick to his stomach when he says every syllable.
Twila Peterson keeps in a sigh while gazing towards the two men and looking back up at the saucer...hoping she's not asked to serve coffee. "I am not playing waitress..."
Dr. Pavel Cossack shakes his head. "He's on old man frail! If he doesn't be careful he might break a hip!" he smiles at the dreadful old codger. "So please come down and discuss your plans."
Wily chuckles softly and motions to his chair in the saucer as he regards the three of them. "Ahh... A pity indeed... I hoped he would by now... my /other/" Wily gives a significant look to Blues. "Dear son... should have convinced him by now... but Zero probably will have exploded and went off to sulk..." Wily smirks slightly as he slowly rests his arms on the armrests of his chair. "I am not about to trust you yet, dear friends... not until the Blue Boy shows up... then we will be able to speak easily..." Wily smiles evily. "Now... I will wait for Zero or the Blue Boy actually, Blues... such a good notion indeed..." "And while I am waiting... I will tell you three of a little visit someone gave me last night...
(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Rock...there's a Dr. Wily here to see you. Doubt he's here to sell encyclopedias...'.
(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'Oh, yay. Where is he, specifically?'.
(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Presently? In his saucer.'.
(Ch. A [Hunter-Main]) Rock transmits: 'Outside, I'd assume. I'll uh... go out and meet with him.'.
(Ch. A [Rock]) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Rooftop.'.
Twila Peterson stands with Cossack and Blues...moving her arms in front of her chest after transmitting some communiqués over her radio. Handy little thing, that.
The hangar doors slide open, and Rock heads out of the command center, towards the gather, sapphire eyes focused on the Wilysaucer; stepping past Blues, Cossack and Twila, Rock looks up and says, "Did you need something, Wily?"
Blues crosses his arms over his chest, and leans back against the nearest pillar or wall. It's not like he can actually do anything to hurt Wily anyways, due to that damnable programming. "I've got a better idea. How's about if you just keep your long-winded, boring tales to yourself, and I don't make you walk back home from here." He points his (non-Buster) hand at the WilySaucer meaningfully.
Dr. Pavel Cossack sighs. "It appears you have a client, Mister Rock."
Twila Peterson rehooks her radio after using it and waits for the old man to make his speal. Undoubtedly he's trying to gain some oxygen...something needed for all that hot air...
Wily turns his head, a broad grin spreading on his lips as he clasps his hands together. "Ahh... Blue Boy!!" Wily chuckles evilly. "So glad of you to join us at last. I was afraid I was going to have to put up with this crowd all night!" Wily motions to Blues, Twila and Cossack. "Especially that one who pretends to be a scientist... couldn't invent himself out of a paper bag!" Wily smirks evilly. "Now... I have come for your... Decision, Rock."
Twila Peterson makes a show of rolling her eyes. "Should try to give him a third heart attack..." she mumbles just above her breath.
Rock glances aside at Cossack as Wily begins to taunt, hoping the doctor will hold his temper. Returning his gaze to the Wilysaucer and Wily, he shakes his head. "Lay off the comments. After all, you're in OUR base. What's not stopping us from taking you captive right now for all the things you've done?" He steps forward, "And which decision would that be?"
*CA-CHINK*
NOW the hand that Protoman is pointing at the WilySaucer is turned into it's Buster form. His face is plain and emotionless, and he still appears calm and unworried. The only word that escapes his mouth is, "Manners."
Dr. Pavel Cossack shakes his head. "I'll go get some coffee" he tries to remain cool as he slowly walks over ot the fair side of the hanger where a small pot and maker await.
Twila Peterson ponders giving Blues the phone number of Wily's Mumsy. If he can't make Wily's life a living $&@!, then may he can have the old man's mother inadvertently do so.
Wily seems to pout. "You wound me, Rock... you really do..." Wily looks to Blues with a sigh... the glowing skull pulsing in front of his Saucer... This close... you can see that there is a shimmering haze about the craft... a Forcefield. "Oh please... since when did you ever have an etiquette chip, Blues? And anyway... enough..." Wily motions with one hand up into the distance. "You know full well what decision... The Stardroids... You cannot beat them alone... I cannot beat them even with all my army... and believe me... I tried! I had Duo himself in my Laboratory until his little playmates came to rescue him..." Wily sneers... "Do you want to prevent this world from being annihilated or not?!"
Bobbing his head slightly, Rock puts one hand to his chin. "And you want to make an alliance with the Hunters and with Repliforce..." he states, rather dryly. One of the worst things there is happens to be a pouty old mad scientist. Twila keeps her piece however, biting off any further comments which may want to make themselves known. After all, she knew this was coming from what was stated last night.
Dr. Pavel Cossack shakes his head. "An alliance. Against vith that madman? Never he kidnapped his daughter. How could ve ever trust him. Probalay already under cahoots vith thim already. "Your offer. Doctor Vily?"
Twila Peterson mutters to Cossack, "wouldn't be the first time there'd be an alliance within the past 6 months..."
Dr. Pavel Cossack shakes his head. An alliance. Against vith that madman? Never he kidnapped his daughter. How could ve ever trust him. Probalay already under cahoots vith thim already. "Your coffee. Doctor?" he smiles making sure to offer him creme and sugar.
Wily nods, his lips curling into a sneer. "I have already spoken with General... and he has agreed. You know little of what I know, Blue boy! I am the one with the most information upon the Stardroids at this state in time... As much as I hate to admit it... I cannot beat them alone... and neither can you. I also... know when to do things for the betterment of all... despite what you think... unlike some I will /not/ destroy the world... the Stardroids will. This world... /My/ world means a great deal to me... Rock. You of all people should know that." Wily narrows his eyes... "If I must work with you... again... to save it... I will."
Wily looks down... monitoring a little screne on his dash... his eyes narrowing... "It begins..." Wily speaks... calmly and resolutely...
<Global News Network> The showing of the reploid soap opera, Days of our Cycles, is abruptly interrupted by GNN operatives. The camera pans out to Kennedy space center and the rather... impressive trio of waterspouts that have burst from within the ground around the shuttle launchpad. Behind, out at the coast, the camera can see the ocean bubbling. "This is a GNN special report. We turn you over to ShutterBug, our Reploid man in the field. Shutter, what is the situation there?"
The camera changes to an insectoid reploid, holding a mic in one of his four hands. "This is Shutter Bug reporting for GNN. According to all reports, a mechanical being has begun attacking the Kennedy Space Centre. All reports of this mechanical being describe him as a yellow color, shaped rather like an egg..."
But, before Shutter Bug can finish his statement, the roiling ocean suddenly explodes outward, showering the area with water as a mountain starts rising from the sea. A second explosion rocks the camera, and a being phases into existence above one of the waterspouts. As Shutter Bug said, yelow and egg-shaped. And looking rather angry. The camera closes in, as Shutter Bug begins to stutter. "I... it's ANOTHER Stardroid!"
And the Stardroid floats down. "You need to learn some matters," he intones, in his echoed, deep, if C3P0-like voice. "For, you see.... -I AM NOT AN EGG!-" And the Stardroid flashes, separating into 9 other forms of himself. All of which glow and then fly at the camera; as the camera dies, the last thing you hear is Shutter Bug screaming his death throes.
Dr. Pavel Cossack gapes. "Lenin's ghost!"
"I know that we can't beat them alone..." Rock replies with a soft sigh, "And the world means a great deal to all of us... though to you for different reasons." Looking back at Blues, Twila and Cossack, Rock turns again to the scientist. "We really don't have much choice. I will agree to the alliance, but on the terms that, during the alliance, the Robot Masters are to LEAVE all areas of the planet alone. They cause as much destruction as the weaker Stardroids."
Twila Peterson flickers a glance over towards Cossack to make sure he's not slipping anything...unpleasant within the offered coffee. "But...how will this be kept from the Droids ?" she questions, to Rock in particular, but it's also meant generally.
Rock glances back at Twila, "There's... really no way we can know if they do or don't know about the alliance. It's a risk we'll have to take."
Wily doesn't seem to pay attention for a moment... then he nods with a sneer... "This came at no better time, Rock... Things just got most interesting indeed... And feh..." Wily regards Rock for a long moment... "If I must... I must. But I would add this provision... if my men are seen... they will /not/ by attacked... I will make sure they do not engage in any hostilities on the planet until this crisis is over... but... I do need to get supplies and I will be more then content to..." Wily almost has to force out this word... "Buy them..." Wily shakes his head. "A truce... my Men can go about as they will and not harm anyone unless attacked... fair enough?" Wily regards Rock with an arched brow... yes... this is... The WilyBrow. Wily also seems to be ignoring Cossack's attempts at courtesy.
Rock nods, "Fair enough, Wily. Your Masters won't cause any trouble, and we won't attack them."
Blues just shakes his head, remaining silent for now, but looking pointedly at Rock. He's obviously got something to say, but he's apparently decided to save it until later. Which would make it either not very important, or extremely important.
Dr. Pavel Cossack nods glancing around.
The Wilysaucer slowly rises up... and Wily seems to lower back into the cockpit... and the bottom of the Saucer glows for a moment as the Forcefield dies away... a beam appearing as Wily is slowly lowered down from the WilySaucer to the ground. "Wonderful... Now... I have our first bit of business, Rock. I hope you have been monitoring GNN."
Rock nods, motioning to his helmet. "I have, yeah. There are two Stardroids on the attack right now..." He looks back, pointedly at Blues, "So, if you'll kind of excuse me, Wily, if all of our business is finished..."
Twila Peterson uncrosses her arms, merely taking on the role of a mere bystander for right now, just listening...closely.
Dr. Pavel Cossack glances wild-eyed at the others and sighs sliding the chairs into a empty closet and loosens up.
Dr. Wily smiles evilly. "I don't think you can take them alone... Perhaps.. you could use some help?" Wily chuckles softly, looking to the others. "Perhaps Bass... and Enker... yes... I think they would /love/ to harm some Stardroids..." Wily crosses his arms slowly over his chest. "Unless you think you can take them without aid."
Rock looks up at Wily, "If you could dispatch Masters to the one at Kennedy Space Center, that would be helpful." He half-smirks, "Start of the truce." He looks down and taps at his radio.
Blues has been listening to the news, of course, and shrugs in return to Rock. "I'll take the one in Florida. To keep an eye on our new 'friends', of course." He eyes Wily, giving him that 'Just Let Them Give Me A Reason' look. He then mutters something to Rock as he passes by him.
Dr. Wily nods to Rock and slowly turns his gaze to Twila... regarding her intently for long moments... then he slowly looks back to Rock and Blues. "Indeed... we must speak more... Rock. I had a visit last night that is..." Wily slowly smirks then... "Well... We have more important things to deal with..."
Rock looks at Wily, and says, "Wily, I've assigned a frequency for our alliance. 8342. It'd be a good idea to have all of your Masters, at least your high-rankers like Bass, on it."
Blues whispers to Rock: '... and ... need to talk ... ... ... don't ... yourself ... ... then.'.
Rock glances aside at Blues' whisper, rolling his eyes slightly.
Dr. Wily nods to Rock. "Indeed, Rock. You are so gracious."
Twila Peterson presses her lips together, hoping against hope that Wily isn't simply going to stay here while the other two leave. Even with the alliance she'll doubt that will be allowed.
Dr. Pavel Cossack says, "Yeah e's regular Mr. Charity."
Twila Peterson rests her arms back to her side, not liking the look she was given. But she highly doubts Wily would give a direct answer regarding why it was he was staring. Or maybe he would. Who knows. If Twila does indeed wish to ask, she saves it for another time...considering the fact there seems to be other issues at stake...
Dr. Wily chuckles softly to the four people. "Now... This /will/ be interesting... the forces will arrive soon... Assemble your Hunters and go... the Robot Masters will be down soon."
Rock nods, "Alright. I'd prefer if you met your Masters outside the Labs. No offense, but one Hunters may be trigger-happy.
Dr. Wily chuckles softly, looking pointedly to Blues. "Oh... I know that."
Twila Peterson .oO(Not too mention wary of security...)Oo.
Rock glances at Cossack as he leaves, "If you two will excuse me..."
Blues gives Wily his worst 'fake innocence' look. "Who, me? Nah, I'll get along with your boys fine. As long as they stay in line, which you've already given your word on. And we ALL know how much your word is worth, don't we..?"
Twila Peterson takes a step back. "Wily isn't being allowed to *stay* here is he?"
Dr. Wily chuckles softly, reaching up to stroke his chin as he too communicates on his radio... "Indeed, Blues. Indeed."
Rock looks at Twila, "I already said, he needs to go OUT of the labs to meet his Masters. I'd like him to do it now."
Blues is heading for the door himself, until he gets a better idea, and smirks. He starts walking towards the WilySaucer, noting Twila's look of discomfort. "In fact, just to prove that there's no hard feelings, and that I'll respect the truce, I'm going to let you give me a ride to Florida. No, no need to thank me."
Dr. Wily narrows his eyes at Blues. "I think not!" Wily sneers and the energy beam snaps on again... slowly raising him up towards his saucer. "I will be able to get there myself... Beside... You may need a bit more help then my Masters if it more arrive... go!"
Twila's look of discomfort. "In fact, just to prove that there's no hard feelings, and that I'll respect the truce, I'm going to let you give me a ride to Florida. No, no need to thank me."'.
Rock glances at Blues, "Go to Florida; that's Venus. I'll head to the South Pole, where the other one was."
Blues frowns, looking up at Wily, and shrugs. "Okay, have it your way. I just thought you'd like to get a chance to show off what your newest toy can do. Unless... unless Cossack was right, and it's held together by bubblegum, duct tape, and paperclips?" When in doubt, go for the ego.
Twila Peterson watches the events, grateful for the fact that Wily is retreating back into his off little spaceship. She forces a slight smirk at Blues' antics however, not being able to help herself.
Dr. Wily narrows his eyes at Blues rising into his saucer until he is once again within it. "Well... If you will hold on to the outside well enough... you might just be able to fit. This was designed for one, Blues... And unless you can hold on... you will be flung off quite swiftly."
Rock looks at Twila, "When I get back from the south pole... we'll have that talk, OK?"
<Global News Network> Once again, your soap is interrupted by an aerial view of the southern tip of Florida. "This is your eye in the sky, Visage Owl, for GNN. After the... untimely ending of our previous broadcast, we have dispatched this aerial unit to survey the situation at Kennedy Space Center." A gasp can be heard, from both cameraman, and pilot. The camera pans down to Kennedy space center; and what an odd sight it is. Where the Kennedy Space Center used to be, mountains and upheavals of stone from within the earth and sea have formed a basin, estimated roughly at 100 square miles. The basin is filling with water from the ocean and from rivers and lakes.
"This is... unreal. The Stardroids have THIS kind of power?" Visage Owl says, rather incredulously. The camera close-ups on the basin, and there's a large, metallic tower within. "Hmmm. Go lower, we'll see what that is..." Stupid investigative reporters, especially doing this on-air. Again, Venus' form appears, on the rim of the basin. "You will not approach, reploid." His cannon raises, and a rather large... bubble, with a quantity of C-4 inside flies out toward whatever is carrying Visage Owl. An explosion is heard and half-seen, before the camera plummets to the ground. The last image you get is the side of one of the mountains, covered in seaweed, before the camera shatters and the image is turned into feedback and static.'
Blues smirks in victory, and hops upwards, grabbing onto the edge of the craft and flipping himself up. He clings to an outcropping, digging his fingers underneath it to get a grip. He then chuckles at Wily. "Oh, don't worry. I'm not -that- easy to get rid of."
Wily sneers and shakes his head. "Get on, boy!! Time for me to show you how fast this saucer is! HmuHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Wily looks to Rock and Twila. "Call in the Repliforce... It seems they aren't playing games anymore."
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: 'So like.. who hears me on dis here chump-change freedom-fighter frequency?'.

(Ch. D [Lighthawk]) Rock transmits: 'Um... I hear you as well.'.
The Wilysaucer begins to ascend as a clear dome closes over Wily, his hands swiflty moving over the controls. "Farewell for now, Rock, Good hunting!" He then departs along with Blues.

(Ch. D [None]) Centaur Man transmits: 'Yes, straggler, he is the mighty herdleader, and it would be wise for you to listen to him!'.
(Ch. D [Lighthawk]) Rock transmits: 'Give it up. Some of you, head to Flordia. Venus, a Stardroid, is there... *he hmms* Quickman, Blizzard Man... head to the South Pole.'.
(Ch. D [None]) Star Man transmits: 'This is like, I dunno, Elektra and Columbia merging...'.
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: 'Hey, I've got a new joke for ya, in yer honor, Mega Dork! Check dis out. So, th' Blue Bomber walks into a bar, right? Th' iZAC bartendin' droid looks at 'um squarely, and sez, "Man, could you -ever- stop being a dork?"'.
(Ch. D [Business]) Enker transmits: '/I/ will be informing Bass.'.
(Ch. D [None]) Star Man transmits: 'Uhhm. I don't get it.'.
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Quick, Blizzard! Go to the South Pole! Enker, Centaur, Crash, to Florida!'.
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: 'Oh, lemme explain, den. See, Mega Man is a dork, right? So, the bartender wuz askin' if he could -stop- bein' a dork.'.
(Ch. D [Lighthawk]) Rock transmits: 'Crash Man. Give it up.'.
(Ch. D [None]) Quick Man transmits: 'Right, Doc.'.
(Ch. D []) Blizzard Man transmits: 'Understood Lord Wily.'.
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: 'You th' boss, pops. Hey, can Star Man come?'.
Twila Peterson offers a slow nod. "Kay...try to have it so that it has to be given while undergoing massive repairs alright? G'luck out there."
Rock nods at Twila, stepping forward to give her a hug and kiss on the cheek.
Twila Peterson isn't as blind to know this is somewhat different a situation than last night. And, having already guessed what a step forward means, she offers the hug as well as a kiss of her own. Besides, him making mention of the talk helped a bit. "Godspeed," she states after offering the embrace. She then kisses his cheek. "Promise?"
Rock nods at Twila, smiling a little. "I promise. I'll see you shortly."
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Yes... Disperse to the two locations and attack the Stardroids!'.
(Ch. D [None]) Quick Man transmits: '...Wait, *attack* them?'.
(Ch. D [None]) Star Man transmits: 'Dude, I don't need to be like, driven no place! Oh, yeah, can I get a ride later?'.
Rush comes running out of the command center, stopping to hop up at Twila and give her a lick. Turning, he transforms into his Jet Mode, and Rock leaps on. Rush transforms into Rush Jet.
Twila Peterson pulls back with a sigh, wondering why she's feeling awefully nervous about him leaving all of a sudden. Not just him, but the others as well. "I'll be in the Center playing monitor..." she informs him even as she offers Rush a small pet before she turns to head in.
Rock nods at Twila, "Take care. We'll be home soon." Rock has left.
<Soon...>
Command Center <Hunter HQ> Monitors and computer consoles line the walls of this cavernous room. In the center of the room is a round computer with holographic display, its lights flashing busily as it processes information about mavericks, and their last known sitings. Computers along the walls are also occupied with an information-processing task. Technicians and other Maverick Hunters run about hastily, monitoring the computers, and making sure the information is as accurate as it can be. The whole air of this room exudes purpose and drive, and the hustle and bustle seems never-ending. On the south wall are two large bulletproof windows which gives you a view of the rooftop runway and Hangar Area. A large blast door in the middle of the two windows, giving easy access to the landing strip.
(Ch. D [None]) Quick Man transmits: 'Repeat that, please - we're supposed to ATTACK the Stardroids?'
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Indeed. I agree with those orders, Enker. And if they fire, Search Man... you may obliterate them...'.
(Ch. D [Me]) Blues transmits: 'The heck they don't, Goldenrod. YOU losers came to US for help, so we're calling the shots.'.
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: 'Pff. All you need is a sound game-plan.'.
(Ch. D [None]) Star Man transmits: 'Dudes, like let's get along until the Royal Ugly Stardroid Dudes are gone?'.
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: 'Well.. okay. But if Mega Dip tries any o' that weapon-stealin' stuff again, I'm takin' him out again.'.
(Ch. D [Lighthawk]) Rock transmits: 'Watch it...'.
(Ch. D [None]) Quick Man transmits: 'Crash, as your direct superior, zip it.'.
(Ch. D [Business]) Enker transmits: '...Consider this a priority security frequency. Meaning, no unnecessary transmissions.'
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Don't all pile to Florida. Some of you go South and aid Rock.... I cant believe I said that...'.
Twila Peterson is by now seated at one of the terminals with a headset covering her ears, playing monitor...although it is a tad confusing seeing as how the activities are a bit...divided.
Coming up through the Grav Lift is Techno, walking past the sliding doors and into the Command Center. Crisply turning as he enters the room, he waves to Twila and says loudly, "Twila, do you know if anyone else is going to Florida? The matter needs to be attended to, and I don't think I alone am the kind of attention Florida needs."
Twila Peterson is by now seated at one of the terminals with a headset covering her ears, playing monitor...although it is a tad confusing seeing as how the activities are a bit...divided.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Which area is presently in more need of reinforcements?'.
Chase Cheetah exits moments later, tail swishing. "Why I oughta.." she growls, looking rather upset.
(Ch. D []) Blizzard Man transmits: 'Miss Peterson...That would be a good question.'.
Twila Peterson goes ahead and contacts the channel...then recalls these three are not aware of it...
Nodding, "I know Twila, but Feedback is already there and I don't think anyone is helping Florida yet... So..... ..... I'll be heading there."
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Indeed. Rock... *the sound of someone forcing words* Do you need assistance on the South Pole?'.
Phantom Raptor steps out of the grave lift about 5 seconds after Techno. "I'm with you Techno!" he yells to his fellow Hunter.
(Ch. D [Op:-Allied-Force]) Search Man transmits: 'Your bedroom?' 'Err, tactically speaking.. the South Pole is in more of a need of assistance.'.
Twila Peterson dips her chin. "Alright. I'm trying to find out. Ok...South Pole needs some hands as well."
Techno grins back at Phantom as he steps onto the bridge, "Hey great, now we have a chance in hell... Let's be going then?"
Twila Peterson offers the reploids a soft nod. "G'luck out there."
(Ch. B []) Feedback transmits: 'Hey everyone. Guess what I just figured out? I think that this new stardroid just told me whats the deal with the judgment day stuff.'.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'Seriously?'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Really? What...did you find out?'.
(Ch. B []) Feedback transmits: 'Hey, this is me we're talking about guys, I don't lie about these things. This guy down in the South Pole kept talking about something like all the problems in the world. People trying to grab for power being their own destruction. I dunno, I've got it all on tape though. I'm going to take a second look at it when I get back to base and write up a report for you guys when I'm done here.'.
Techno nods and begins dashing for the Teleportation. "Fine, fine! You two play rock, paper, scissors for Florida." Techno says, "And be quick!"
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'Alright.'.
Twila Peterson stays where she is...not being able to offer anything other than what she already is. "Guys, flip a coin and go!"
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Reinforcements deployed.'.
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'And more on there Way... My dear Twila... Time to show this Stardroid the true power of Dr. Wily!!'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Gah...does he have to call me 'dear'?'.
<Meanwhile...>
South Pole The southernmost place on the earth, this is where magnets note as south, although if you bring a compass here, it will spin in circles endlessly. The arctic winds swirl and howl in this desolate arctic place. Glaciers float slowly in their frozen waters. Penguins and other adapted animals dwell in their habitats without causing any fuss. Snow storms are active although it rarely even snows, it's just cold all the time and the snow never melts. The permafrost here is destined to be here until Global Warming kicks in, so beware of snow blindness and trek onwards.
Dr. Doppler nods and naturally smiles. "Hopefully order rather than anarchy." In his own mind of course, he -thinks- he's for it. The cyborg ponders his own place in fate, though any rational and logical scientist would disagree with the existence of fate itself, Doppler isn't really conventional in thinking. Besides, Sigma is -destined- to rule...someday.
The Skullker soars at a very high speed across the Antarctic waste... it becoming fully visible now as it moves forward... Oh no... Wily would not miss this. There he stands in the right eye of the Skull, gazing out apon the scene, the left is filled up with the figure of a giant Android. Guts Man. Oh yes, this is getting interesting. The voice of said 'perverter' rings out. "Well, well... I hope I am not to late... This indeed... is becoming interesting..." Wily's eyes move to Doppler where he sits in the Leviathan. "Ahh... Doppler... so /glad/ you could join us."
Blizzard Man has been here...Uh...Just staring incredulously at Pluto.
Quick Man is still sitting there. In the snow. And stuff.
Feedback just sits there recording what is said taking a backseat in the discussion just watching for now.
Dr. Doppler gives a fake smile to his rival scientist, "Oh but I wouldn't miss this for the world." oO(and with the power of the Stardroids, indeed the world is most likely on the line )Oo
Of in the distance, approaching towards where the signal from the Ride Armor, is Enforcer Malamute, feeling at home in this climate. He's slowly walking towards the Stardroid and the others that are in the area, watching the Skullker as he walks
Rock frowns, "I'm not important. Just another reploid." Yeah. He's a hero, an EFC, and immune to the Maverick Virus. If that doesn't distinguish him...
Dr. Wily is a hero... or will be soon as he will be the one helping solve this little incident... "Ahh... interesting indeed... So glad to meet you... Pluto wasn't it?" Wily can be seen giving a slippery, oily smile. "And feh... This /will/ be most interesting indeed..." Wily runs his hands over the controls slowly... scanning and recieving information from Florida.
Of in the distance, approaching towards where the signal from the Ride Armor, is Enforcer Malamute, feeling at home in this climate. He's slowly walking towards the Stardroid and the others that are in the area, watching the Skullker as he walks
Pluto crosses his arms again, taken a quick survey over those present. "Such a... variegating little gathering I've drawn. The Chosen One, proclaimed so by Duo himself for reasons coming that only he knows. The Father, the lone beginning of reploids themselves. Even the Peverter, who wishes only to turn this world into his own plaything, perverting it's essence with his minions. The First Man of Strength, the Clumsy Skier, the Master of Speed; all obedient to his twisted ways." he snorts a bit of frost again. "In the end, Judgment shall fall upon all who contribute to this world, in the name of Order or of Chaos. Fate cares not which side one belongs, only in that balance of the existence is maintained, and the unbalanced is destroyed. Which end shall befall this world is yet to be seen, though little looks good if you ask me."
Quick Man again turns to Blizzard, looking a touch confused. "This is a bad thing he's describing, right? I'm pretty sure it's a bad thing."
Blizzard Man stands there, hoping for diplomatic relations to carry on..."May we be of some service to you Pluto?"
Guts Man nods, "I'm the Man of Strength!" Guts Man flexes!!!
A frown cuts a cross the withered expression of the not-so-good doctor, the one in the ride armor. His synthetic twists and transforms the frown into a smirk. "You talk so negatively, as if we had -not- a chance...but you also claim that we do. I am wondering if this balance you refer to is peace, uniting us with the common to keep our planet in existence perhaps?" Doppler continues to probe the matter, squeezing out every bit of information to solve the grand visage. No matter how small a shred of data is, it still contributes. Or maybe not so confusing seeing as how some of the chan chatter has died down a bit. But it's unknown if that's a good or a bad thing...
Rock is just rather confuzzled. He just lets Pluto talk for the moment.
Blizzard Man nods to Quick Man. "Yes, I believe it is...Though I don't see why." He shrugs..."I mean how can you have order without some chaos?" He seems quite well versed in these matters...Or so it appears.
Enforcer Malamute finally reaches the area where the others are. He doesn't know what's going on, but he takes up a position next to the Ride Armor, staying quiet as he looks around at the others in the area.
Wily narrows his eyes at the Stardroid as he listens to the words spoken by the frigid Stardroid. He looks to Doppler for a moment, an evil smile coming to his lips. 'Ahh... Perhaps Doppler might be smarter then I thought... his little plaything Sigma was far to irritating last night...' Wily turns his gaze back to Pluto as he too speaks out. "Judgment Day... You speak much already known to me... and what Doppler asks indeed proves of interest to me, Pluto. What perhaps is this Balance you wish us to have?"
Quick Man keeps looking around... and spots the second Maverick, standing at the foot of the giant ride armor. Casually, the Speedster nudges Blizzard with an elbow. "Hey, Blizz. Pst." He jerks at thumb at Enforcer. "Bet ya 50 Zenny the dog-bot doesn't have the bolts to bark at the cat-droid."
Dr. Doppler smiles to Enforcer with a nod. "Greetings my child. No danger...for the moment." His gaze swings up to Wily for a moment, a disapproving expression before the cyborg brings focus where the attention should be, Pluto.
Blizzard Man smirks. "Heh...I'll match that he will..." He looks around and focuses upon Pluto some more. "Perhaps Pluto would like to spek with an equal of this mythological prediction that has gone on for centuries?" He looks inquiringly at Pluto. Blizz has been hitting the mythology books big time...One would guess.
<Back at the Maverick Hunter Command Center...>
Seminole walks into the command center, appearing rather hurried as he moves off the gravlift. He peers at the main viewer, before noticing Twila at the monitors. He pauses briefly, then moves over and taps her on the shoulder. "Twila..?"
Twila Peterson jumps slightly at the touch. "Yes, Seminole?" she asks?
Seminole grins for a quick moment before his expression resumes the typical seriousness of a combat situation, despite the fact that they're both on two separate continents. "I just got back to base after hearing about the reports on the radio. How goes it?" he asks, as he slides into a nearby seat.
Twila Peterson shakes her head. "I don't know. The chan chatter has been relatively quiet for a small while, what with the Stardroids attacking in both Florida and the South Pole. The Pole, last I heard, was in need of more help." She then pauses to inform him. "You should know the Hunters, Repliforce, Masters, And Mavericks have joined forces against these Stardroids. The alliance frequency is #8342.
Seminole nods to Twila, as he pauses to input the frequency into his built in radio. "Thanks... I'll contact the Pole team now and see if I'm needed."
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'To the Hunter team in the South Pole, do you require assistance?'.
Twila Peterson is seated at the terminal wearing her headset as she plays monitor. She glances again towards her friend and offers a nod. "Welcome."
Mirage heads into the command center, "Aww yeah..what's up?".
(Ch. B []) Feedback transmits: 'Uh, not that I know of. I think we're fine for now Sem. Just a bunch of talking, no weapons so far.'.
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Well, if the Masters owe any of you money, I'd suggest you collect it while you still can.'.
(Ch. B []) Feedback transmits: 'Why do you say that?'.
Twila Peterson flickers a glance towards the incoming Mirage, giving a small nod. "To put it brief...we have an alliance with Repliforce, Masters, and the Mavericks against the Stardroids; two of which are presently in Florida and within the South Pole."
Seminole looks up at Mirage, as he gives him a nod. "Just the usual chaos and mayhem," he notes, glancing over at the monitors briefly, "With everyone involved, of course."
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'I dunno...Masters...Stardroid...knowing them I wonder if it's obvious...'.
Mirage smirks and nods, "My kind of mass hysteria..anything I should do right now?".
(Ch. B [None]) Blues transmits: 'Because they're not going to be occupying the same planet as the rest of us in a few minutes.'.
(Ch. B [Lighthawk]) Seminole transmits: 'I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing..'.
(Ch. B []) Feedback transmits: 'Um, what did they do now?'.
Twila Peterson presses her lips together. "Well...I don't know. Guess you're hearing the broadband like me and Sem...."
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'No assistance at the moment, Seminole.'.
Twila Peterson ohs with a nod. "Guess only thing you can do is wait...to see if your needed."
(Ch. D [Op:-Allied-Force]) Search Man transmits: 'Crash Man has called out the Stardroid, and it is positioning for attack.' 'First scouting reports show we will be incapable of holding position, nor quelling the attack. Second incoming Stardroid, identified as Libra.' '...Overrun of positions, mission failure is imminent. Request immediate support, or orders to withdraw, over.'. Duet pages: NP. Should of done it earlier.
(Ch. D [Lighthawk]) Rock transmits: '*sound of Rock's palm hitting his forehead* D'oh!'.
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: '*all faked-sobbed* Before I go.. I only got one regret. And dat, is that I had only one life ta give to Doc Wily.'.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Not normally one to break orders except in the most extreme of circumstances, Sword Man counts the approaching Venii as being reason enough. Wily /did/ after all, order them NOT to engage at all costs. And Sword Man always listens to Wily. Sword-arm raised before him as threateningly as he can muster before the slowly coming glowing Stardroid life-formish holographic emulation, Sword Man raises a single arm toward Search Man, gesturing for a singular but steady fall-back.'.
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: 'Oh.. and that I didn't kick Mega Dip's can again. It's a real downer, y'know?'.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Search Man nods to Sword Man, and starts to move backwards, riflebore turned towards Venus, but the intent is clear, as he follows Sword Man's orders and begins to fall back.
Live News><Extra Camera> Enker raises an eyebrow at Libra, as she teleports away from him... And no more... "I would not have expected Stardroid help... Your actions consist only of protecting your own existence while eliminating others... Perhaps to acquire resources for yourself..." He turns and locks eyes with Venus. "Such is the only possible conclusion, if you intend to destroy us. Let he who makes the first strike accept his dishonor."
Twila Peterson breaths a sigh of relief. "Finally live feed coming in from Florida..." she states as she adjusts some of the dials before her on the console. The picture on the monitor clears and displays the sight.
(Ch. D [Business]) Enker transmits: 'Mission failure is never imminent. Only probable.'.
Mirage turns to the television screen, "Enker's there..he has a lot of gall and not much strength to back it up".
<Live News><Extra Camera> Crash Man blinks, as Enker says his peace. "Wow. I gotta learn some of dat logic." He looks back up to the ticked off floating multiple Stardroid-eggs, awaiting his fate. How dramatic.
Twila Peterson brings a hand to her headset, repositioning it. "You're referring to Masters..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> The 10 Venii turn, away from all the other Masters and focus in on Crash Man. Venus, the main one, rumbles lightly. Aiming his cannon, all the others do as well. "If you have any last words, I suggest they are said now."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Search Man continues to fall back, halting, letting Sword Man advance forward, before he follows, and moves back as well. Screen> Dr. Wily watches and absorbs this words of the Cat Droid... his eyes focused on the feline being. Interesting words indeed, but Dr. Wily is not one to let his world hang on the line because a bunch of Leashless Droids appear and say they have dominion. For now... he simply watches... his eyes moving to his panel as the Radio signal comes though. "Well, Pluto... As much as I can say I have enjoyed this little excision... your friends, Venus and Libra, seem to be attacking those who would have learned why Venus did what he did and ask him simply to return peaceably to Starhaven." Wily raises his gaze to Pluto. "I request you speak to them and ask them not to interfere in the Balance in such a way... We only wished peace... not they attack!"
Mirage shrugs, "So..the Masters are going to fight the Stardroids or what?".
Twila Peterson lets out a sigh. "I have a feeling it's going to be 'or what' fairly shortly..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Sword Man retreats from the area swiftly, leaving him open for parting shots from Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Phantom Raptor.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Blues shakes his head, and takes a step forward, followed by another one. And another one, until he's standing between Crash Man and Venus, trying not to think about what he's doing, or why he's doing it, and holds up a hand towards Venus. "Hang on there a second, Venus..." He glances over his shoulder at Enker pointedly and then continues. "I'm not going to try and appeal to your sense of honor or fair play, but I am going to point out that if you really believe what you said earlier about judgment, then it would be a crime for you to deprive them of their chance. Now's not the time for them to be judged, and now's not the time for them to be executed for not passing the Judgment. You know it, and I know it."
Mirage winces, "I was afraid of that".
<Live News><Extra Camera> Crash Man shrugs, "Heck. I already said my bit. I don't think there's any more movies I can rip off at dis point in time." He looks to Enker, "You watch dem borin' war-documentaries, Enker. Got anythin' overtly dramatic an' cool to say 'fore we get blasted inta atoms?"
(Ch. D [Op:-Allied-Force]) Search Man transmits: 'Correction.' 'Three Stardroids sighted.'.
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Oh great...'.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: '...'.
Mirage taps his foot, "Seminole..should I head go to the scene?".
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: ' *mutters about the hours of repair time this is going to take.*'.
(Ch. D []) Blizzard Man transmits: 'Who exactly is appearing?'.
Twila Peterson comments, "I....Seems to me going near there right now may just cause a little more upset..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Venus rumbles down at the Prodigal Son. Venus has exemplified his weakness. His inordinately large temper. As the Venii continue to focus on Crash Man, the central Venus rumbles. "The Prodigal Son... as always, the demeanor of calmness that you are always with, using it to stop the destruction of one whom actually deserves it. A judgment of his intelligence has been conducted, as his outburst told all gathered." Looking back around at Libra, then to Crash and the rest. And one by one, his holographs cannon's lower. "You may leave. If you do not wish to leave, then I shall go forth with my punishment."
(Ch. D [Lighthawk]) Rock transmits: 'Venus and Libra I know. Who are the others?'.
(Ch. D [Op:-Allied-Force]) Search Man transmits: '...scanning...'.
(Ch. D [Me]) Blues transmits: 'Two I've never seen before. One male, one female.'.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Enker snaps of a few quick radio transmissions, and then eyes Venus... Apparently, not subject to his own orders... "And what about you, Stardroid? Do you intend to remain at this location?" <Live News><Extra Camera> Crash Man gets his machismo back on. "Right. Yeah, if you ever -care- to fight like a -real- droid, I'll be around. Sho'nuff." The Red Bomber turns, and with the assistance of his dash-jets, he tries his best to get the friggin' heck outta Dodge.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Sagittarius appears in a brillaint white light, not far from his fellow Stardroid, Libra. Standing tall with the majestic bow and arrow over one shoulder, while a quarry of arrows rests on the back. A slow gaze moves across the participants of the gathering, before finally falling to rest on Libra, Blues and Venus. And that's where it stops, simply watching them with a silent act of surveillance. The Hunter is not hunting... yet. <Public> Frozen Philosopher Blizzard Man parades about.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Magic Man comments to no one in particular as the magician turned assassin slinks away "Next time we go visiting the all powerful demigod neighbors of intergalactic judgment, I'm staying home."
(Ch. D [Op:-Allied-Force]) Search Man transmits: '..identified!' 'Sagittarius.'.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Venus moves his gaze from the Prodigal Son to Enker, "I plan on remaining at this location, yes."
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: 'Oh, I get it. Their gimmick is dem 'oroscopes.'.
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'The other is Libra... Twila and I know here well...'.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: '*grumble*'.
(Ch. D [Lighthawk]) Rock transmits: 'The Zodiac. Duet's... little group.'.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Enker says, "...And just why is that? Do you expect the Judgement to come soon, and without warning, not even to you?"
<Live News><Extra Camera> Libra watches calmly as the Masters - the smart ones, at least- turn around and start to fall back. Smiling happily, she gives them a parting wave. "See y'all later! Take care now! Buh-bye!" The apperance of Sagittarius behind her does not go unnoticed - but does go without major reaction by her.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Blues stands where he is, meeting Venus' eyes. Mostly because he doesn't trust Crash not to make another comment if he starts backing down, rather than actually attempting to challenge the Stardroid. He does nod, however, and says softly, "All of us are flawed in our own way. Some of us strive beyond it, and some of us never even give it a single thought. Don't hold it against them, because they really don't understand what they do."
(Ch. D [Anti-Stardroid]) Crash Man transmits: 'What a bunch of nuts. Jeez, dat really burns my mech-fluid. Buncha cocky-ass bastids comin' round our turf, thinkin' they can run the friggin' place. Oh! An' wit' 'dem smart-ass comments, too! Gah! I just wish one would stop for a second, so I can Crash Bomb it's fool head off!'.
<Live News><Extra Camera> In the middle of his retreat, Crash Man just downright shudders. "Freakin' smart-aft tart," he mutters under his breath, before dashing off again. This time.. it's personal! Well, not /quite/.
Twila Peterson nods in turn as her eyes keep themselves on the screen. "I wonder if the Stardroids will also leave Florida..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Venus rumbles at Enker. Turning his attention to his fellow Stardroids, his holos vanish. "Libra, Saggitarius, did Lady Duet send you to see of my actions? I do not need Duo's consort watching over my shoulder." Turning back to Blues, he looks back up at Enker. "The Judgment is not soon, I will grace you with that information. Be aware, that you, and all beings of this planet will know when, the same time we know."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed creeps among the foliage of the Florida swamp, red optic scanning about. He heard about the buildup of Stardroids, Libra among them. Narrowing his good eye as he peers out from a patch of reeds, up to his knees in muck, he watches them from a modest distance. There's Libra. He'll announce his presence discreetly.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Virgo arrives with a blueish white flash a few moments after Sagittarius. Her chin rises high as she casts her view at the departing Robot Masters. Perhaps her presence was not needed here. She steps over to Libra who was on the scene first and listens to what Venus has to say. She huffs at Venus, "Lady Duet does as she pleases."
<Live News><Extra Camera> The Hunter's gaze remains fixed on the four before him: Blues, Enker, Libra, and Venus. And there the Hunter stands, eternally patient before his Hunt can begin. As Venus addresses Sagittarius, he responds in a monotone voice, "We were sent to watch."
Twila Peterson mutters under her breath, thinking on Lirba. "Just hope anyone who still thinks Libra means well for the UN saw that report on what happened two nights ago here in Tokyo..." she mutters.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Venus's facial features crinkle in distaste. "Yet it is not Lady Duet's job to concern in our matters. Just her own, and those of you, her Zodiac." His back remains to the Zodiac, for the moment. "But very well."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Enker appears calm and controlled as ever... In appearence and voice, at least... "Well then, Stardroid... I suggest one more time, under no threat of arms, that you make your way back to Starhaven, and prepare for judgement with your fellow jurers... Your presence here... And the presence of the other Stardroids... Provokes the citizens of this earth to defend themselves... Your actions, they are obviously perceived as threats... With so much destruction, it is easy to see why... And doing such unheard destruction causes the citizens of earth to take arms they normally would not... It is called Entrapment, I believe..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> "Her Ladyship does as she sees fit. Your objection is noted, but our presence remains." Libra shoots a look at Enker, still smiling sweetly. "Though I do admit to a certain amount of personal business in this place." If she notices Quinton's transmission, she gives no outward signal. But, for the moment, her attention is elsewhere.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Chase Cheetah leans over, nudging Phantom. "Hey, look. They quarrel too. I'm amazed."
Seminole's brow furrows at the monitor, as he gestures to the monitor. Specifically, Venus, as he speaks, "That one, Venus, seems to be staking a claim to the area."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Phantom Raptor turns to Chase and nods. Although he still is not too sure of what's going on.
<Elsewhere at the South Pole...>
Pluto holds up a single paw, finger outstretched. "Even the smallest shred of Hope has a chance, for those that cling to it." As Blizzard Man speaks, he points towards him. "Exactly, my fellow being of cold. For one so dense, you have hope of understanding, there. One cannot exist without the other, just as Duo and Chaos cannot exist without the other to oppose his counterpart." He holds out his paws, palms up, as if weighing something. "If there is Good but no Evil, then what exactly makes Good.. good? If there was only Evil, what is to say that it is actually bad, and not when there is nothing else to oppose it." Answers come form the snowkitty, but each is just as cryptic as the one that preceded it.
Rock continues toe watch, frowning lightly.
Guts Man hrms and tries to answer with Guts Man logic. "If there isn't evil, then it's the least good of the good that is evil?"
Feedback records all of this but refrains from talking. He sorta needs to stay in one piece so he can give a report for this and stuff.
Dr. Doppler makes a rather disgusted face. "Are you implying that the good of the reploids has a..." His synthetic face scrunches short of spewing intake fluid. " ..a symbiosis with those despicable humans." Though the thought is far fetched, the philosophy of such a balance has been around for ages, its just that Doppler isn't an avid fan of the yin-yang belief. "I comprehend what you speak...but the thought of such a mutual connection with the homo sapiens is rather, disturbing."
Enforcer Malamute crosses his arms across his chest, watching the Stardroid, "Just as you said...There can be no good without evil, and no evil without good...If one or the other were to be taken out of the equation, there would no longer be an equilibrium. and thus chaos." He looks up at Dr. Doppler, nodding slightly. He doesn't want to believe that either...But that's pretty much what this Stardroid is telling them
The Mad Doctor slowly strokes his prominent chin as he regards Pluto for long moments... absorbing his words as his eyes turn to Blizzard Man... ahh... his creations... they do him so much pride. Wily looks again to Pluto as he puzzles out the words slowly. He softly speaks to himself within the Skullker. "I see." Wily pressed the button to turn on the intercom again as he slightly glares at Doppler... he seems to be speaking effectively enough. "So... the Balance of us must be held for us to be judged favorably... and what perhaps... tips the balance scales in either direction?"
Dr. Doppler would pat Enforcer on the back right now if he was down from the armor, but he isn't..so he gives a smile to his direction. "Smart boy."
Blizzard Man stands there, ready...Thinking, "Is it so? Would you truly judge who is right and who is wrong, then apply pressure to the side of good? For all this time, I thought you were independents...Droids of manufacture unknown, who would meddle as per your feelings, and standby otherwise as watchers of this war..." He shakes his white head, "I do not see why you would do that...Given the obvious function of your group...As watchers and judgers and eveners of the balance of power...Yet, you would do so?" He stares at Pluto, almost incredulously.
"You were one of those 'despicable humans' when you first created your beloved children, Father Doppler, do not forget that," Pluto replies with his icy eveness of tone. "The Balance itself is not truly even. It sways back and forth, time and again, each side constantly restabalizing with the other. It's when one side gets too weighted down, and the other cannot recover, then..." His tail curls out from behind him, almost like a serpent striking, as a burst of energy erupts from the gun-like tip, and a piece of debris from the ruined refinery erupts into nothing but smoke and ash. "I cannot tell you in exact what maintains the Balance, Peverter, but I can tell you that if it is uneven when Judgment comes, your strive to corrupt this world for yourself will mean little other than how it deemed the planet's fate. What I have done here is merely an example. A sign of what may come. Or may not. Sometimes seeing a possible fate is the only way one learns to avoid it. It has worked for other planets we have judged in the past."
Blizzard Man scratches his chin, thinking. "Mayhaps I have been premature in my decision of your injustices in the affairs of the balance." His optics glow a moment, "Perhaps though, you could explain why you can't just call us by our normal and chosen names? I mean, Clumsy Skier is such a derrogatory name...I much prefer Blizzard Man." He shrugs, "Anywho...My question remains, why intervene in the actions of those you judge? Why add more factors in for you to judge? Perhaps, perhaps you are doing something you should not have...Is it not fully possible?" He looks at Pluto questioningly...Suddenly a thought occurs to him..."Nostradamus."
Dr. Doppler leans back on the piloting seat of the armor, content with his new revelations. The conversation has indeed been productive, and now the doctor believes he has all the resources to build up his own solution, further approaches towards the answer only supports his current theory. He smiles, retreating back into the opaqueness, concealed by the shadows of his own machinery, steepling his fingers, his mind coming closer to the balance...to enlightenment. Though as much as Doppler would like to comment on his unfortunate human mortality, he knows better than to argue a futile point. History is history, he cannot change that.
Pluto's tail swishes back behind him as he looks fully to Blizzard Man. "Perhaps I was wrong in your designation, as you show more insight as I gave you credit for. I shall call you the Frozen Philosopher instead, perhaps." He pauses, and turns to the Skullker as Wily speaks. "From what I have seen of your creations actions, I somehow doubt they have not brought their own fate upon themselves." he raises a finger, shaking it back and forth a bit. He can probably guess what happened, too. "Never, ever, -ever- call Venus an 'egg'. He hates that. Very. much." Looking between Blizzard and Malamute, he nods a bit. "It would seem the best understanding has come from fellow beings of the cold. Perhaps another time we can continue this discussion, when the very effects upon the Balance you speak of may not be altered by what I say. But as my task here is done, it is time for my departure. For now..."
Dr. Doppler exhales a deep breath, an encounter with a stardroid, and no violence...despite all factions present. Sometimes Doppler is amazed by what his presence can do sometimes. This incident only further proves his brilliance to overcome crude brawls.
Blizzard Man nods, "I thank you Pluto..." In his mind, he rolls his optics. "And perhaps, there are reasons to every action and word...Ones which we have yet to foresee..." Something is obviously running through his mind. "I bid you farewell Pluto. Until next we meet." He stares and watches with interest. Then looks to Wily.
Wily slowly nods then lets out a sigh. "It would not be the first time, Pluto... next time... Only the smart ones..." Wily sneers and looks Blizzard, Quick and Guts. "Get inside!" Wily looks to Rock as well. "If you will join me inside, Rock. I can take us to where we need to go... It seems your brother might need a little bit of help..." Wily then looks to Doppler and his Malamute companion. "If you would care to contact me later, Doppler... we can share a good deal of information on this subject. I imagine the Fathers of the Android and Reploid races would have much to speak on."
Guts Man gets bored by this, as a penguin waddles across the ice Guts Man starts to give chase! "Raaah! Come back here Penguin! I'm gonna take all yer beer and make a fortune selling it to stupid humans!"
Enforcer Malamute nods, looking up at Pluto, "Yes...We should meet again. Perhaps by then I will have further knowledge of this subject. Farewell Pluto, I am certain we will meet again." He steps back, still standing next to the Ride Armor still.
Quick Man hops up outta the snow, snapping a salute to the Doc. "You got it, boss! Be glad to get out of this...." He facepalms at Guts, then wanders to the Skullker, muttering 'I do not know him. He's a Light-bot. I do not know him. He's a Light-bot.'
Rock rolls his eyes at Guts and Quick Man, shakes his head, and looks up at the Stardroid again.
Dr. Doppler hates Wily, oh he hates him. What he is, as a man...and as a member of his species, but he cannot argue with the validity of his statement. The cyborg nods to Wily, "Yes...we should."
Blizzard Man nods to Wily and skis over to the Skulker and slams into a low area of it, then clamors aboard.
Pluto merely nods a bit at the parting words. "Another time. Yes, there is definitely hope for this world yet. If only more of your kind could grasp it as this group has." And with that, the Snowkitty of Gloom turns on his heels and quickly vaults away, easily climbing over and then disappearing into the ruins of the refinery. Amazing, how the destruction of the plant actually brought on a non-violent encounter, isn't it?
Guts Man watches as the penguin cowers on and floating sheet of ice. Guts Man leaps at it, but the penguin jumps into the water. The sheet of ice slowly starts to crack, and drift off to sea with Guts Man on it. Guts Man looks around noticing water everywhere save for on the mainland where the others are. "Ummm..."
Rock sighs softly, and hops on Rush, flying out to where Guts is. "Hey, Guts Man! Grab on!" He leans over, Super Arm activating, to heave Guts back to the mainland.
Guts Man crosses his arms, "Oh no you don't! I got myself into this, I ain't getting myself out of this with your help! Leave me alone runt brother!"
Enforcer Malamute looks towards Doppler, "Shall we return home?" He asks, now that the Stardroid is gone
Rock drops his head, "Have it your way, Guts Man." Deactivating the weapon, Rush's jets ignite and he flies into the sky.
Guts Man nods to himself, "I sure showed him!"
Dr. Doppler watches the Stardroid make his not so dramatic exit from the immediate vicinity. Eyes fall on Enforcer Malamute. "Lets." The Ride Armor comes fully erect into its perfect pillar stance, the sound of mechanical whirs following each thunderous step. The armor slowly makes its way over the horizon of the arctic wastelands.
A penguin pops out of the arctic waters and back onto the mainland. It stares at the Robot Master and laughs. The bird turns around and wiggles its tail feathers. "Wak wak wak!"
<Elsewhere, once removed...>
(Ch. D []) Blizzard Man transmits: 'AH!'.
Mirage rubs his face, "This doesn't bode well".
(Ch. D []) Blizzard Man transmits: 'GUTS MAN!'.
(Ch. D []) Blizzard Man transmits: 'Could someone umm...Get Guts Man off that ice flow?'.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Venus rumbles in obvious distaste yet again, at Enker. "If you wish my presence gone from a place of refuge from the Judgment, then so be it." He floats back, to float beside the other 'Droids. "Your prescience remains, yes. As long as yours does not, Mirror, we will be peaceable."
Twila Peterson dips her chin. "I remember him. He was the one who was so concerned over sparing a group of school children on a bus from a Master. He's also the one who first call me the---" And that point she winces as one of the members on the +alliance channel screams. "Yoooow!"
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed frowns as he's apparently ignored. She can't hide forever, though. He'll trap her in conversation. Turning to what used to be the Kennedy Space Center, he sighs, optic zooming in. Claiming domains, like Libra did at the United Nations, perhaps? Internal communiqué activated:<<Sarah, you know if there are any casualties from Kennedy Space Center getting...Um...Transmogrified?>> <<One sec, Reed.>>
Seminole shakes his head slightly. "I knew it was a mistake letting the Masters on a radio channel.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Enker nods to the Stardroid, picking up his weapon from the ground and turning silently away.
Twila Peterson slightly adjusts her headset so she's more ready for the next time. "Don't they have their own channel for stuff like that?"
<Live News><Extra Camera> Virgo's indigo eyes narrow on Enker as he stalks away. Interesting. A wiser one within that group of misled robots. The Perverter has not led everyone to madness. She must have a chance to talk to him later.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Blues remains where he is a little longer, looking around at the basin, and then the tower in the middle grimly. He starts to turn away, adjusting the shield slightly on his back and flipping the scarf back over his shoulder, until he calls back over his shoulder to Venus. "Is all of this really necessary?" He indicates the basin with a broad sweep of his hand, his expression unfathomable behind the shades.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Venus looks down at the Prodigal Son. He ponders his answer; the necessity of the structure, as both a reverie for himself and a plausible, possible temporary refuge from the Judgment, if it decideds to destroy him along with everything else. "Yes." is his simpele answer.
Twila Peterson lets out a quiet sigh as she leans back within her chair. "Been heck of a night..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Sagittarius watches Enker as well, though lacks any insight on the Robot Master. The Hunter's gaze returns to the other Stardroids and Blues, still almost perfectly still in the Hunter's stance.
Seminole continues to view the monitors, though the action has since ceased. "Indeed... but something tells me worse ones are yet to come," he emits, sounding rather concerned with the prospect.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed allows himself a relieved sigh from his cover. <<No casualties, Reed. Just a whole lotta historical significance and property destroyed, Reed.>> <<Thank God.>> Taking a few more steps forward, he frees himself of the muck, blue metal boots covered with mud almost to the knees. Now a little more apparent, but still behind the Stardroids, he crosses his arms, watching and listening silently.
Twila Peterson blinks slowly, feeling that as well. "Can't help but wonder why this is all happening? What right do these creatures have to be here in the first place..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Venus doesn't know Quinton's about. He turns, regarding these three of the Zodiac. Though he says nothing, his levitation gives out and he drops like a rock, into the water in the basin, and vanishes.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Libra breaks off slightly from the rest of the Stardroids, floating backwards for a moment.. then turning to face Quinton. "You have my attention for the moment. But there is much to be done and time is short - there is no space to mince words." She seems to be in a bit of a hurry, and trying to somewhat quiet. Maybe to prevent the others from hearing?
<Live News><Extra Camera> Blues nods, not really satisfied, but not having any other way to react to it. He continues to walk away, saying to himself more than to be heard by Venus, "Then what hope could we possibly have?" *cue walking off into the sunset music*
<Live News><Extra Camera> The Skullker arrives from the Sky Above Eastern United States.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed purses his worn lips, giving Libra a curt nod. His voice is silent as well, respecting that. Libra may be a bit slimy, but at least she doesn't turn buildings into Stardroid dens. "Trying to murder a pair of civilians is bad press, Libra, especially for one purported to bring peace."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Sagittarius watches Venus disappear, before fading back into a flash of light and disappearing completely.
(Ch. D [Me]) Blues transmits: 'Well, for the most part, the situation in Florida has been resolved. The area's still changed, but Venus and most of the other Stardroids that showed up have left, except for that hippie one. She's talking to Quinton Reed at the moment, but she's indicated that she's in a hurry to leave herself.'.
(Ch. D [Lighthawk]) Rock transmits: 'At least noo ne got blown up. Right?'.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Which hippy one?'.
<Live News><Extra Camera> "That I take so desperate of a measure, to take such actions with mine own hands, should communicate the threat posed by those 'civilians'." She glances back as both Venus and Sagittarius disappear. "I can spare few words, but my actions are just and with reason - the one we call Mother shall be the doom of this world. I have no time to speak of it further - and it is of little consequence if I continue to hold trust. The act must be done."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Virgo turns back to the Zodiac, about to impress her thoughts about the situation, only finding Sagittarius gone and Libra slightly off at a distance. She closes her mouth, the words now useless. Since Libra is still here, she's going to find out what she's doing. With the always present *shingshing* of her chain weapon, she heads over to Libra...not aware she's going to be interrupting something.
Seminole shrugs at Twila. "None whatsoever, of course. But we can't really /ask/ them not to involve themselves with the affairs of planets they don't live on."
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Oh fun... Well... The Situation in the Antarctic is resolved. And... with my children, Rock... you never know...'.
Twila Peterson grumps. "Well, suppose that's true. Although...I can't help wonder what happened to those 'other planets' that they have been on..."
(Ch. D [Me]) Blues transmits: 'You know, the hippy one that was making a big fuss at the UN. Keeps talking about peace and pacifism, but carries around a huge axe?'.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed glances at Virgo, offering the Stardroid a curt nod, before looking back to Libra. He doesn't look happy. "The Mother? I love the names you guys give things. And if the act is done, you've lost United Nations support. Around here on Earth, when a robot kills a human, we call it going 'Maverick'. You don't touch anyone here, or you can consider your advisorship over. The Security Council ain't comfortable with you turning into Judge Dredd."
(Ch. D [Alliance]) Seminole transmits: 'I believe you're referring to Libra.'.
(Ch. B []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Blues...that's the one trying to have me dead.'.
(Ch. B [Dragonfire]) Rock transmits: 'Oh joy...'.
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Libra... believe me... she is no hippy... she is quite disturbing. She happened to pay me a visit in the Wily Star... Also she was the one who attacked our dear... dear.. Twila...'.
(Ch. D [Lighthawk]) Rock transmits: 'resists gagging*'.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: '...............'.
(Ch. D [Me]) Blues transmits: 'I thought I told you to stay away from them? Sheesh, the one bad thing about not bothering to say anything most of the time is that when you finally do talk, nobody pays attention.'
<Live News><Extra Camera> Libra shrugs, possibly noticing Virgo, possibly not. "There is no choice. What is lost, is lost for the sake of the greater good. As I have said, the path is one harsh and of sacrifice - one must die that billions may live. I may live with this. But I shall not be the one to finish the deed - I am forbidden. But she shall be ended, for the sake of all."
(Ch. D [Op:-Allied-Force]) Search Man transmits: '*muttered* 'Deer in headlights?' 'Target, cease fire.'.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'Can't help it if they turn around and fine *me* can I?'.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Phantom Raptor turns to poke Chase and Techno. " I guess things have pretty much finished here. Let's go home." with that said he turns and starts to walk north.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Virgo blinks, not completely absorbing all that Libra is saying. She heard 'Mother.' She heard 'die.' Things aren't looking quite kosher here. Virgo will not interrupt Libra now. The guilty often hang themselves with their words.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed narrows his good eye at Libra, metal arms crossing. "Why? Let's not mince words here. But tell me, the uninformed assembly line worker in the big scheme of things, your 'corporate strategy'. And let's not mince words here. Why do you want them dead? What threat do two grains of sand have to the universe?"
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'I do hope you are paying attention to the news...'.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'I wouldn't miss it...'.
Seminole eyes Noise for a few moments as the monitors become pretty uninteresting. "You seem calm considering the world's supposedly going to be judged soon, and possibly be destroyed," he emits, half-serious.
irage scratches his head, "Well, it's not worse than the Kaiser Sigma thing...er...wait..I'm wrong". He says with a smile.
<Live News><Extra Camera> "All is not known to I. I do not even believe that all is known to great Duo. But one think is the truth - the Mother, that civilian whom you call Peterson - has the knowledge within her that shall destroy all of us, and this world with it. To save all, one must be lost. And to save the Balance, her counterpart must also." Libra hangs her head slightly, seeming ashamed of this. "I act simply to create the most good, of what is known to I."
Twila only stares at the monitor screen. "To save all...one must be lost?"
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed blinks his eye, thinking. Peterson? Where does he recognize that...Twila Peterson, that was it. The woman that did all the repair on him, and the one that was almost forced into marrying Wily. 'The Mother'? Probably connected to that incident, somehow. <<Sarah, dig up anything you can on that Hunter, Twila Peterson. I think I got a lead.>> Uncrossing his blue arms, he cocks his head. He has to walk carefully around Stardroids, especially ones like Libra, with silver tongues. "Knowledge? She knows something to destroy us all?" He rubs his chin, feigning doubt. "Why are you Stardroids establishing domains? The egg-shaped guy, this...Tower...You the United Nations...That one that tried to shoot me mentioned his own domain...Does this have to do with whatever has spurred you Stardroids to action?"
Mirage sighs, "Let's not be melodramatic alright. Take things as they come".
Twila Peterson manages, "And boy...it has been coming..."
Seminole stares rather blankly at the monitor, before looking at Twila. He shakes his head as Sem tries to organize his thoughts. "If she thinks you can save the world, Twila, why did she try and kill you? This is all too confusing..."
Twila Peterson muses. "I...don't know. She's also convinced that I'll destroy it, and the Stardroids themselves, somehow..."
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'I think she really wants you dead, Twila... more then me it seems...'.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'At least not Mumsy, right?'.
(Ch. D [Hunter-Alliance.]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'Leave Mumsy out of this!'.
Seminole rests his chin on his fist, while leaning on the desk that supports the monitor. "Hrmmph. /She/ seems like the confused one, in any event," he says, seeming pretty exasperated with all the stuff the Stardroid's been pulling.
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'To hear Eclipse say it...that's not going
Twila Peterson nods in agreement with Seminole. "Would help if we knew what. Not exactly certain just how she would think *I* would have to offer..." She's just a 21 year old women, born in a small Midwestern town, with a Bachelors in Journalism. Not like she would know of anything that could possibly bring about doomsday...
Seminole shrugs at Twila. "Maybe she knows something we don't...or maybe she's just playing mind games with us." He sighs, "That's what I hate the most about this situation. We have almost no idea what's real and what's illusion, what's fact and what's fiction, who we can trust and who we must fight. It's all.. chaos. Which is probably what Chaos wants."
Twila Peterson grunts. "The exact opposite of order..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Libra nods, still looking a tad nervous. "Knowledge which shall cause the destruction of all. I know no more - and she knows none. I grieve that she must be lost, for she is unaware of the power. But it must end, lest all end." She still gives no outward indication that she knows Virgo's right behind her. Either Libra is terribly confident, or really doesn't know the other Stardroid is there. "As for the domains, that is something which I shalt not explain. The time is short. All time is short. Dalliance can not be afforded if this world is to survive."
The young woman watches the screen, still sitting there with her headphones on, not bothering to remove them just yet.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed snorts quietly. These Stardroids seem to conveniently forget a lot. Just a bunch of chickens with their heads lopped off. "You people are doing more damage than good. Just drop down on Earth, muck around to protect your Balance, then say you can't do anything when the real trouble comes. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions."
Twila Peterson hits against the headset and finally take it off, laying it against the console. "Strange. When I was in college I thought finals were the end of the world..."
Seminole goes rather quiet, mostly as the result of the thought of Twila dying as a result of the Judgment. He peers at the screen for a few moments, then looks back at Twila. Sem just looks at her, wondering what qualities she has that could possibly save or destroy the world... if Libra is actually telling the truth.
<Live News><Extra Camera> Virgo can't believe what she's hearing. The humans are...making sense. Enker too. Virgo is just astounded. Well, not so much about that. But the Balance is teetering off into chaos. Not Chaos. Just chaos. Virgo shuts her eyes and breaths slowly to calm herself. Libra will have to explain her actions.
Twila Peterson starts at the screen a few moments more before getting that "feeling" that she is indeed being studied. She turns away from the screen for a moment, returning Seminole's gaze, becoming awkward. "Yes?"
<Live News><Extra Camera> Whupsies. Libra seems to take rather... strong offense at that comment. In an instant, her poleaxe is out of it's sheath and in her hands. Despite the fact that the weapon has to weigh several dozen pounds, at *least*, the tiny being holds it in one hand like it were a toothpick. The point of the massive blade hovers a mere inch from Quinton's nose. "Do not speak of what you do not know! I am sick of being told that we know not what we do! You, each and all, believe yourselves to be all-knowing! All-powerful! All-moral! Even we, mighty as we are, admit to some lackings! We arrive to attempt to set things right upon this world, and are met by blade and closed-mind, our assistance refused at every turn! Good intentions mean nothing when given unto those who see naught but paranoid fear with their eyes." Her rose-colored eyes narrow threateningly - she is definitely capable of obliterating the detective before her in one swing. While she hasn't demonstrated the world-shaking power which Venus has, she is still a Stardroid. "My actions are what they must be to save and create good. If that can not be accepted - bedamn you all."
Seminole blinks back into reality, as he breaks his gaze from Twila, looking rather apologetic. "Sorry, Twila, just... zoned out for a second there," he says, and looks back at the screen as Libra does something big.
Twila Peterson perks her eyebrow. "Again Libra proves her true colors..."
(Ch. D []) Twila Peterson transmits: 'If that one report doesn't make the media...this one would...'.
Seminole's studies the Stardroid on camera, frowning slightly. "Not exactly a star politician." He points at Virgo on the screen, "That one doesn't seem to like what Libra's saying."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed blinks, a little startled at first, but takes it all in stride. Quickly calming, he raises his mouth to the tip, and makes a mock kiss on it, but doesn't actually touch the weapon. "Two civilians and one United Nations detective dead, now? Well, I guess pacifism has a funny definition these days. You are met by blade and closeminds /because/ you are running about, killing people, turning museums into fortresses, using us as game pieces...Some evil, some good...How are we supposed to trust you when your buddies are going Helter Skelter? Hate to say it, but I'm not so sure about this Duo fella, if he can't even keep his troops in line and unified to one goal."
Twila Peterson ponders. But she accepts Seminole's statement just the same. "Eclipse stated not all where in agreement. Some were...some weren't. Although, he wouldn't say which ones."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Virgo can't stand idly by as Libra threatens another human. The human shows a lot of spine to stand up to a 'Droid like that, but she's seen that before, at another time. She cannot believe that Libra did not notice her before, the 'Droids are just too all knowing for that to be possible. "Libra, that's quite enough. Put away your weapon before you make us all look like monsters."
Seminole leans back in his chair, as his eyes roll slightly. "Great, just what we need on top of everything else... A Stardroid war." He watches Virgo closely, hmming again. "If they keep making public appearances like this, we'll know who's on what side soon enough."
Twila Peterson states, "Exactly. Almost as if all of them are one side or the other of this balance themselves as much as they think we are...regardless if they say they must uphold it or not. Guess each thinks they have a way of doing it..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Libra holds the blade there for a moment, then lets go. The weapon continues to float in the air on it's own, without her touching it. "Virgo.... I am through with pandering to these fools. I have tried to work with them, and I have tried to give them guidance. They remain staunchly entrenched in their idiocy." She turns around to face the other Stardroid, hovering upwards to come eye to eye. "If they can not accept what must be done, then so be it. The time before Judgment is nearly gone. They can not afford to be allowed to dawdle. And I will not allow this world to meet the fate of so many others. We may look like monsters to their eyes - but they shall at least not be scattered by the solar winds." Behind her, the poleaxe floats upwards and sheathes itself on Libra's back silently. "What fools these mortals be."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed cocks his head to the side. Good. While it may not look pretty PR-wise, he's succeeded in getting her the Hell away from the UN, presumably. "You've made it a point, Libra, to say that Stardroids too are mortal."
Twila ponders. "Almost sounds as if she's speaking from experience..."
Seminole shrugs slightly. "They've probably done this to other world's before. They seem to know what they're doing... most of the time."
Twila Peterson narrows her eyes a little. "I...meant personally. She has mentioned 'great loss and sacrifice' several times before. Granted...she didn't state what it was she meant by that..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Unseen by most mortal eyes, the links on Virgo's chain weapon stop snaking around her waist when Libra puts away her weapon "Are you so certain they need our help? I thought they had to come to the day of Judgment with their own accomplishments, their own failures. Why are you interfering?" She seems to ignore Quinton, but her mouth twitches at his comment.
Seminole tilts his head as he considers Twila's statement. "Well, she probably means we'll experience great loss and sacrifice... I'm not really sure what else she would be referring to.
Twila Peterson shakes her head in response. "At the time...she was referring to her own. What if...she lost her world in a similar way the Stardroids are stating we may loose ours?"
<Live News><Extra Camera> Libra is, possibly fortunately, possibly unfortunately for Quinton, more concerned with confronting her fellow Stardroid than answering (or taking further offense) at his question. "Because, unlike so many of you claim, I am not content with allowing their outright destruction. You know that I never have been - not with any world. My actions should not surprise you, Virgo. But this world is different - is special. While upon others I have simply surrendered and allowed Sunstar to have his way, I can not bring myself to sacrifice this one as easily." Smirking very slightly, she adds, "And it is not as though I am the only of us who has influenced those of this world. Many of the others have - I simply have different goals."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed's arms cross once more as he watches, his good eyebrow arched as he listens. He's no longer included in the conversation, fine. But at least he's glad he got that little side comment in.
Seminole looks a bit surprised at the concept. "Well... that might explain why she's so interested in our world's survival, but how or why the Stardroids took her." He pauses, grinning slightly, "I'll make sure to ask her next time she drops by."
Twila Peterson hmphs. "Good luck. They don't have much of a running track record. Don't know why they would explain why she would have been chosen..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Virgo is not so attached to this world, having only encountered the inhabitants only once, when the Robot Masters snatched Duo. "And I do not approve of their interference either. I am perhaps...disappointed in you sister. We both used to hold balance in the highest regard, but I suppose I shall be the only one who shall remain impartial."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Libra nods, surprisingly calmly for such a pronouncement. While it might seem small, that kind of a statement, from Stardroid to Stardroid, must hold grand implications. "Perhaps. You, like Eclipse, are content to simply judge. Observe. Allow the finality of a world - and of us. I.. am not. That, dear sister, is where we part our ways, I fear. My path is chosen - the Mother must die."
Twila Peterson glances back towards the screen as she bites her lip. "What if she is telling the truth, Seminole...and she is actually wanting to help."
"... chosen." The word bounces around Seminole's mind for a few moments, as the Hunter ponders that between the other chaotic thoughts crossing his mind. His expression darkens in quiet introspective thought, ignoring the monitor feed at the moment. '..Chosen..' Twila's single word replays over and over, before suddenly Seminole raises his head, eyes brightening. "Chosen," he vocalizes, quietly, "That's it. That's why Rock's the Chosen One. If our world ends, he'll become a Stardroid." Of course, that was in a low whisper so nobody really heard it. He looks at Twila, not really all.. there. "If she wanted to help, she wouldn't be trying to make enemies out of all of us."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Quinton Reed glances at his chronometer as it slides from his forearm armor, grunting quietly. "'The Momma' ain't gonna die, Libra. Mark my words. If we've worked our way up to our fate, let us have it! What one girl knows isn't going to affect the world like that. Now, as much as I've enjoyed this /thoroughly/ intriguing conversation, I have work to do. Good day, Libra. You too, Virgo." He turns, boosters lighting up as they send him through the air, hovering downwards into the swamp.
Twila Peterson then blinks slowly, not hearing Seminole's revelation. However, it's a conclusion she'll come to on her own soon enough. "Heck...I just thought...everyone's seeing this. If people become afraid and learn who the 'Mother' is..." Her life wouldn't be worth any more than ashes...
Seminole's expression waivers slightly, as he sees where Twila is going with her statement. He sighs, straightening up in his chair. "I know what they /might/ do. But hopefully everyone's not taking this at face value, either. Libra can't be fully trusted as it is, I doubt a lot of people even believe her."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Virgo takes a sharp breath at Libra's announcement. Now that bothers her, oh yes it does. She replies cooly, as she usually does. It is harder to guess whether she is really angry or not. "While I may not act, my observations of the upcoming Judgment are still vital to Duet. She will not approve."
Twila Peterson breathes out a "No...not all. But you've seen how people react and get desperate, especially when they're frightened. Maybe not now. But, when the time draws closer..."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Libra nods again, as the last of the 'mortals' leaves the area. "I understand this. We must both do what must be done. Pity." She glances sky-wards, at the stars above. "Let us not dally here any longer. I must attend to business - both personal and official. I am sure your duties press you as well. In the end, we shall see which of us has made the correct choice - and if the one of us whom is wrong can live with the consequences."
Seminole sighs heavily, looking down at the ground for a little while. When he goes look up, he appears very confident about what he has to say, "You're safe in the Labs, Twila, and any one of the Hunters will die before seeing harm come to you. Though, as noted before, we can't protect you from everything... but we're all going down together if it comes to that."
Twila Peterson turns slightly away from him, letting out a breath she wasn't aware of holding. "Much as I appreciate the sentiment, I couldn't allow that too happen if it can be prevented."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Virgo blinks slowly, her eyelids pressing down the emotions that threaten to show in her eyes. When she opens her eyes, they are blank and expressionless. She flips the hair that rests on her shoulder onto her back and arranges the chains that serve as a belt. She replies at last after preparing herself to leave, "Your actions will also be counted at Judgment Day, as all of ours will. Farewell sister."
<Live News><Extra Camera> Libra nods. "Farewell for now, sister." The small Stardroid's skin glows, then a flash of black light explodes outwards - and she is no longer there.
Seminole sighs, looking back at the monitor just in time to see the Stardroids depart. He leans over and flips them off, then gazes back at Twila. "Well, that's very noble... something that doesn't surprise me about you. But, I'd rather prevent anyone from dying in all this."
Twila shifts somewhat uncomfortably within her seat before swiveling the chair to face him again. "Strangely enough, so would I...myself included," the girl admits, the edges of her words laced with fear. Quietly, she places the headset back within its niche even as she moves to stand. "Anyway, I better get myself down to the Med Center so I can finish up Zero's armor. Might as well being doing something productive...since I'm not going to be sleeping well tonight.
Seminole nods to Twila, standing as well but more as a polite gesture than to signify he's going anywhere. "You should try and rest... We'll be getting even less sleep in the coming days as it is."
Twila Peterson tilts her head slightly to the left, and can't help but agree that he indeed is right. "Probably. But, Zero will still need his armor. "I'll get some tonight. I...just have to think over a few things..." She falls silent for a few moments before she turns towards the grav lift. "Take care of yourself, Seminole. And rest well."
Seminole waves a bit to Twila, "I will... you too, Twila. Good night," he replies, sounding rather troubled...

He looks pretty happy with himself since he's smiling. Then again he's always smiling when he gives reports*
Hey everyone. Guess what I just did?...No, I did not create another game for all you bored people to play with. I actually did somethine constructive for a change. I went down to that south pole we have down southward and talked to this stardroid...Yes, for those of you curious, I was very cold. It was not my favorite event of the day, but no one else responded so I kinda had to go so we could figure out what this Pluto wanted down there. Well, for those of you who haven't figured it out by now, Pluto just claimed Anartica for his home. Says that its the only place on this dustball of a planet that it can survive and stuff. Overheard Doppler saying something about a coorelation between the Stardroid's name and its habbits. Sorta like how Pluto is far from the sun and its cold there. And Pluto claimed a cold place for his territory. Now that's all well and good, another stardroid claiming a patch of this planet as their own. Kinda sickening if you ask me how they're just picking which place they wanna rule over and stuff. Anyways, something interesting came up while we were talking. Seems that Pluto might of slipped up and given me a clue as to what this whole judgement thing is about. Several times during his conversation with Doppler, I heard him drop information pertaining to well, sins of humanity to put it simply. How a bunch of people on this dustball of a planet are grabbing for power and insignificant amounts of money. Says that this will be our undoing or something like that. Also, if I'm right, this could be one of the factors in which we're being judged on. Kinda makes some sense when you think about it. I mean, there are some that are a bit blind and stuff when it comes to these matters. Anyways, that might be one of the factors at any rate. If nothing else its a start. During their conversation I think my audio circuits malfunctioned or something. Cause I think that Pluto was actually praising Sigma, or the Fallen one as these stardriods like to call him. Might be a sign of something, what it means, no clue. Anyways, I'm getting a bit tired. Kinda had a long day in freezing cold weather, and I hate the cold. As usual, I'm here for anyone who wants to chat or see the recordings I've got. So, just gimme a ring via the radio and I'll be more than happy to show you guys what I found. So, thats about it, so I'm off to go get something nice and hot to eat and then get some sleep. This is Feedback, signing off.
