Twila@M3 - Saturday, January 08, 2000, 9:16 PM ----------------------------------------------
<Global News Network> Tonight at 11: Sigmond and Roy are predicted by the Church of the True Faith to be revived from the dead that they might continue their services to Satan. Oh, and something or other about Dr. Wily getting married in 2 days. Tune in or your life is forfit!
Skull Fortress - Science Hallway The air seems thicker down here, and more artificial. The lowest level of Dr. Wily's fortress is also the most non-descript. Clinically white, metallic walls give the small hallway the feel of a hospital, and indeed, to Wily's creations, it is. The hallway itself is small, the stretch from the transporter to the double doors at the opposite end is no more than fifty feet. The double doors at the end of the hall have no windows, and look suspiciously heavy. Glancing at the walls nearby, you can make out hidden alcoves that no doubt hide all sorts of weaponry. The door closest to the transporter looks the most inviting, looking through the window, you can make out the foyer of Dr. Wily's personal quarters. Two more doors branch east and west, both leading to labs of some kind.
Twila Peterson walks within the rather spratan and unmarred hallway accompanied by two Sniper Joes, as per her usual. Personally, she can very much do without them. But Wily won't have that. Oooooh, no. So they stay positioned there, one on either side, breathing down her neck and---. *A-hem!* The girl has her hands swung behind her back as she steps further into the corridor and away from the transporter which had brought her here.
Ballade nods to Twila as she enters, "Greetings Mrs. Peterson. How may I serve you?" he bows his head subserviently. After all, Wily did order his body-guard to care for the Repor-Journal-Write- whatever! Anyway, he stands with his head bowed and arms folded behind his back before the door to Wily's chamber.
Twila Peterson slows her step before coming to a stop before the door. She tilts her head towards the Robot master as if silently studying him. "Oh...I'm fine, thanks. Ballade was it?" she questions. "Say...you wouldn't know what exactly Wily is planning for the wedding would you? To be honest, I only know of the place and time. But...not much else."
Ballade shakes his head, "No ma'am. My only concern in this cerimony is security. The system I have devised will prevent you or the doctor from coming to harm." Ballade's customary blank expression alters for a moment, "May I ask you a question, Mrs. Peterson?"
The young woman nods a bit slowly as curiosity overshadows her features. "Of course. What...would you like to know?"
The bodyguard placed his hand on his chin in an uncharacteristic display of non-militant posture. "You were taken from you home and placed in a strange environment. I wonder... why have you conceded to marry the Master. Do not misunderstand, my loyalty is absolute... but I cannot help but wonder what you are thinking and," Ballade strains as he attempts to force the words from his mouth, "feeling."
Admittedly, the question does take the girl by surprise...although it really shouldn't. Just the other day didn't another Master ask her something of the same? Twila takes a few careful moments before phrasing a response. "You're right, I was taken....by force no less. I guess since I'm here I should try to make the best of things, as well as try to make the doctor happy." The girl inwardly frowns at her own words. What she really wants to say is she didn't concede to anything. She's being forced to play along and see if there's an opening to use to her advantage. Who knows what would happen if she outright refused anyone here? She very well knows the score. Even if the wedding were to meet with completion her life would probably be measured in hours. Basically, she's just playing for time. "He must sometimes get lonely in this castle here. Even with all of his 'children' around him. They wouldn't provide the same type of companionship.
Slash Man comes walking out of the lift, lookin' quite chipper... which meens he's just done something nasty to someone, or is about to.
Ballade turns to the wall for a moment, a shadow obscuring his face, "I am rarely apart from the doctor. That is my function. That is my life. I admit that I want what is best for him. Do we not all wish happiness for our...father?" Ballade takes a minute to compose himself before turning back to Twila, "If what you truly want is to make the doctor happy, then I will not bar you. To think of the Master knowing real joy makes me..." the Elite searches for a word, "pleased. But if you hurt him I will not hesitate to kill you. Make no mistake, I bare you no malice, I am simply stating facts."
Skull Man walks out from the training room, a bit winded by the gauntlet program. But on seeing that a few of his brothers and his "mother" seem to be lounging in the empty hallway the room opens out to, he decides instead of heading to his quarters to wait by the door to the training room and simply watch... His green eyes dart from one to another, evaluating, judging. It's a little discomforting, but that's just Skull Man's way.
Slash Man says "What's up with you, Ballet, been drinking motor oil again?"
One of the guards eyes the androids through a narrowed gaze before once again observing their charge. Their processors aren't fit for really taking note of the girl's response to Ballade, he simply remains to one side standing there.
Meanwile, the young woman herself takes in what the Master had just declared. Inwardly, she suspected as much. In fact, she personally counts on it if she or someone else is not able to get her out of this den of lions. "Understood, Ballade. I don't think I could expect anything less. The doctor is really blessed to have someone who's willing to look out after him." She pauses a moment to offer Slash Man a nod and a smile before returning her attention towards the other. "But really, why would I want to hurt Albert? He's been so kind to me here as have all their children, like Slash here."
Slash Man grins, flashing down to his humanish form as he says "Thanks... I'm just doin' what I'm programed for." Slash Man transforms into Richie Cunningham.
Ballade nods and returns to his vigil, "As long as we have an understanding. You may move along now... all of you. Skull Man and Slash Man, return to your duties. Now."
Slash Man says, "I just got off my patrol shift, and I plan on taking a dip in in my lagoon program and then heading into town.
Twila Peterson comments, "I just got back from there. Seems some sort of celebration is going on in the downtown area...something about Enker..." idly.
Skull Man may be a suckup when it comes to the Doctor himself, but his attitude towards his subordinate commanding officers is more typical. He moves his glance to Ballade painfully slowly, emerald eyes resting on him in a way that is perfectly normal yet carries a disrespectful note that can't quite be picked up coming from this one. "I have no duties assigned to me at the moment, sir." The tone on sir is paradoxically submissive and defiant at the same time. Slash Man grins "He foiled some bank robbers Lethal Weapon style."
Twila Peterson takes a step back, recognizing something she's been seeing among the majority of the Masters since she's been here. There seems to be a bit of strife...especially between the brass and the lower rankers. The girl keeps her manner calm however as she replies to Slash. "The bank should be happy about that," she notes before asking, "Where...in the city were you thinking of going?"
Skull Man turns to the other two occupants of the hallway, not bothering to wait for a possible retort from Wily's bodyguard. "He served Wily quite above and beyond, and public congratulations are apparently do for such a feat." The disapproval is gone from his voice -- perhaps he actually thinks Enker's actions deserve celebration of some degree, or maybe it's just to further annoy Ballade by relativity.
Ballade looks coldly to Skull Man, "A true servant of Wily should never be without duties. I believe our janitorial staff is busy cleaning the Fortress in anticipation of the wedding ceremony. Assist them. Now. I will not tolerate lack of productivity. Go."
Slash Man shrugs "I was going to do a bit of shopping for wedding gifts, maybe stop by a little cafe I know..."
Skull Man says, "If I am not mistaken sir, we were supposed to watch Mother closely when we had free time until the marriage was made completely legal." Slash Man nods "Exactly."
Skull Man is obviously speaking to Ballade, though his glance does not move from Slash Man and Twila.
Twila Peterson has a...personal history with Enker and would rather that he be tossed into an vat of molton lava. But she shouldn't really think such things should she? It isn't particularly nice. A baffled glance is cast bwteen Ballade and Skull before she nods towards Slash Man. "Hmmm...going back into town seems like an idea." The more time she stays out of this pit of vipers the better. "Maybe I'll see you somewhere there."
Ballade shakes his head, "No, Mrs. Peterson has sufficient guard. You are not needed. Since you stated you had no prior assignments, you will help the janitorial staff. A true soldier follows orders. I suggest you act like one, or be disciplined... again." Ballade's tone is totally monotone. There is nothing personal in this. Ballade simply sees it as his duty to make Skull Man a better master.
Slash Man says "I shall escort her, since that was already my destination."
Twila Peterson makes a mental note to maybe take just another tiny step back from the two quarreling masters as if not knowing what else to do.
Skull Man nods to Ballade with his trademark painful slowness -- worse because everyone knows he can me reasonably fast if he wants to- and for the second time gives him the both submissive and defiant (how /does/ he do it?) Yes sir, and starts with deliberate lack of effort to the hallway, and a disapproving sideward glance to the dripping Wave Man.
Wave Man comes over to the two Robot Masters who appear to be doing said quarreling and says, "ARRRR! What be here?" He eyes Skull Man and then Ballade. "Lookie here, me buckos, must we fight? Why, there be a pillagin' and a cavortin' ta be had!" Wave Man sloshes a bit around.
Twila Peterson can't help but blink-blink-blink at the newcomer, making another mental note to take yet another step back. Where in the heck did the Long John Silver reject come in? Are they shooting an updated version of 'Treasure Island" somewhere?
Slash Man says, "Miss Peterson, Wave Man... Wave Man, the Doctor's bride-to-be"
Wave Man looks over at Twila and bows, grabbing her hand with his and bringing it up to his breather mask. "Arrr, tis a fine bride that the doc has brought," he says, smiling beneath his mask. "I hope you be enjoyin' yer time with the Robot Masters, Missy?"
Twila Peterson manages to find her voice. She can't help but be somewhat...off-balanced...by the rather odd variety of Masters here. "Uh, interesting...meeting you Wave Man..." she greets, just as the instigator makes leave for the teleporter. "Thanks. I can certainly say that it's been...a rather eye-opening and interesting experience."
Slash Man suggest "Would you care to join me in my lagoon simulation, Miss Peterson?"
Inwardly the girl recoils as the android takes her hand. Outwardly, she can't do much but smile. She offers Slash a small nod in response. "Sure...I suppose that would be ok."
Slash Man says "You might want to grab a swim-suit first..."
Twila Peterson uhs as she remarks. "I'm...afraid I don't have one here. But...if your lagoon has a beach that would work out great. Otherwise...I don't really feel like a swim right now." Or be parted with three small gifts some other friends were able to give her since her stay...gifts this bunch more than likely wouldn't take to a liking.
Slash Man nods "It does, shall we?" as he keys open the door.
Twila Peterson shrugs lightly with a small grin as she slips in, offering Long John Silver there a small wave after reclaiming her hand. "Heh. Thanks..."
Skull Fortress - Training Room When inactive, this room appears as no more than a massive room with black walls decorated by a gridwork thin yellow lines. But when the holographic simulation is turned on, this room can be anywhere the user wishes it to be, from the Sahara to the Arctic to an African jungle. Same for opponents, the user can employ from a suite of pre-programmed enemies, or set up their own. The only limit here is the imagination.
Slash Man says "Computer, start Tropical Lagoon program." and begins striping out of his clothes as the place shimmers into a large, crystal lagoon surrounded by a glimmering white beach and light tropical foliage beyond that.
Twila Peterson stands to the side soon after entering, allowing him to program the imagery into whatever he chooses. As the android strips down a faint blush rises to her cheeks, regardless of the fact that he's somewhat covered and, as an android, wouldn't have much to show anyway, her modesty does find a way to kick in. So, instead she focuses on the foliage even as it materializes, finding that she likes what she sees. "Nice," she comments. "Another one of your programs?"
Slash Man is currently striped down to a speedo (and this guy /does/ have the body for it) and standing at the edge of the water of the program as he says "Yeah... thanks."
Wave Man runs into the room and dives into the water with an ARRRRR!
*SPLASH*
Slash Man sighs "Wave Man, would you /GET OUT OF HERE/?!"
Twila Peterson moves herself to sit on a old log that borders between the foliage and the beach...well out of harms way of any intended, or unintended splashes. "No prob----INCOMING!" she manages to get out just as Wave Man makes a beeline right for the Lagoon. She winces at Slash's shout and then proceeds to look up. Now how did she know that someone such as Wave man would take a liking to water? "Looks like you aren't the only one into Lagoons, Slash," she offers, somewhat amused.
Slash Man sighs and mutters something impolite before saying "I use this to be /ALONE/ and /RELAX/" and shooting Wave Man a glare. Slash Man . o O (@#&*@#**#@$@# Why does this always happen when I try and just relax... and they /WONDER/ why I'm all nerves.)
Twila Peterson watches as Wave Man takes his leave in a bit of a rush with a blink before turning back towards Slash. "I think...he's gone now..." she says semi-awkwardly.
Slash Man sighs and runs his hand through his hair as he says "Sorry... but this is about the only time I'm able to relax..." and falls back into the water before backstroking out into the open.
Twila Peterson pulls a leg up to her chest, hugging it to her. "I take it you aren't able to do so that often.
Slash Man says, "Not really...always have to be on guard for something..."
Twila Peterson hmmms silently to herself. "If you had a choice...to choose what you wanted to be, where you wanted to be, and who you wanted to be...what would it be?"
Slash Man says "You know my answer... it's hardwired into my personality.
Twila Peterson rests her chin on the top of her raised knee. "Yeah...guess it is. Suppose it's just a bit hard for me to understand is all. Humans don't exactly come with 'pre-programming'. At lest, not in the sense you would be accustomed to."
Slash Man chuckles and says "Of course, once Wily rules the world I'd like to retire to a stretch of wilderness and just live there between recharges."
.oO(As if that's going to ever happen! Wily will never rule the world.)Oo. "And what would you do out there?" Twila questions. "I ask since my folks were into taking me to one of the national parks every year with the rest of the family...cousins...that sort of thing."
Slash Man shrugs and floats on his back as he says "Rest... relax... Hunt... just indulge myself in whatever."
The girl just remains seated where she is, watching him. "Makes...sense. Lotta natural wonders out there and the like."
Slash Man grins "Yeah... that's what I'm made for, and that's what I love."
Twila Peterson removes one of her arms from the hug and feels the bark of the downed limb she's currently sitting up before quietly examining one of the nearby plants. It bears some berries. Whether or not they're poisonous she doesn't ask. She wouldn't think them edible regardless. "Speaking of...mind if I ask what you think of the upcoming marriage?"
Slash Man says "I feel somewhat like Ballade... I hope you make the Doctor happy, but I'm wary that you'll hurt him."
Now how could Twila have ever guessed that he would have espoused those views? Must be her instinct. "Depends what you mean by 'hurt'," she comments after a brief moment. "Any romantic human relationship has joy as well as pain mixed together. It's what comes naturally."
Slash Man says, "I mean hurt him intentionally." Twila Peterson ohs with a slow nod, asking sincerely. "Why...would I want to hurt him?"
Slash Man shrugs "I don't know... but I'm getting this really bad 'vibe' that something bad is going to happen soon,"
"Understandable," Twila offers. "After all, from what Wily told me he's never taken a bride before. And you and the other Masters have never had a Mother. Only natural for you to be apprehensive about it."
Slash Man smiles "Yeah... you're the kind of mother I'd have wanted if I actualy grew up, but that's not the reason."
Didn't think it would be. Twila well knows the reason. Bass already sees through the facade...but mostly that's due to the fact he's actually seen Rock and Twila together, and has come across the girl long before now to know more of her than the ones under him. "No, guess not. Strange thing about feelings. Sometimes they can be trusted. Sometimes they can't. Least, from a human standpoint anyway."
Slash Man chuckles "I can always trust me feelings...they're almost never wrong."
Is it her or do most villains have some sort of ego-trip? "You're better than most then. Just be glad you're not an emotional female," Twila Peterson states.
Slash Man chuckles "Yeah, I'm just a high-strung male. And I'm not that egotistical, I just have a hunter's perception"
Twila Peterson glances about her to distract her from thoughts treating to roll over as storm clouds. "Well, sometimes that's a great help to have." Maybe not for her. "Mind if I ask why you asked me to join you? Not that I mind. I'm...just curious."
Slash Man say "I thought you'd enjoy it, and you looked like you needed a break."
Twila Peterson pans her gaze until it reaches back to the lagoon. "I am, I assure you. Seems as if you have good tastes in designing programs and the like. I think Wave man would agree with you if he was still here," she comments with a wry smirk.
Slash Man smiles "He's too brash...as it is, he scared the animals off. Look behind you, slowly," and when you do you see an extremely friendly looking jungle cat curled up in a tree.
Twila Peterson gulps once before turning to look behind her. And low and behold, there *is* a nice and friendly and big jungle cat with sharp claws sitting within a tree looking down on them. Oh, sure, he's friendly now...or at least appears that way. "Uh....niiiiice kitty..." she says, scooting within her seat a little.
Dr. Wily blinks as he sees Twila and then Slash Man and walks over towards them, moving through whatever scenario is currently running and says, "Slash Man...what is going on?" He looks up at Twila and then at the cat, his fist tightening around his cane.
Slash Man says "Miss Peterson seemed seemed a bit overwhelmed, so I brought her here to relax. The leopard is perfectly harmless, as this is a dueling simulation."
As Slash Man says this he flips around and starts stroking for shore... good thing he's not in armor in the minute.
Twila Peterson slips herself off the log and smiles at the doctor, but not before casting the cat there up in the tree a nervous glance. She likes nature and wild life -- just not that close. She nods towards the good doctor (using the term loosely) at his explanation. "He only now just pointed out the....cat..." She rubs her hand against her head gently. "And...what bring you here, Honey?"
Dr. Wily smiles at Twila and says, "I am here to merely check on you, my love." He takes Twila's hand and kisses it, still holding in his contempt for the woman. "How is Slash Man treating you?"
Slash Man, once back in water he can stand in, transforms into armor and wades out. Slash Man transforms into Slash Man.
Twila Peterson manages to hold down her dinner as she's once more touched by this...man, but hides it fairly well. "He's been very kind thus far. He does seem to hold some concerns about the upcoming marriage. But since he's never been exposed to something like this I can understand. But...I'm more concerned about Ballade."
Dr. Wily blinks and arches a brow. "Ballade?" he says. "What about Ballade?"
Slash Man . o O (PLEEEEEEEEEEASE add 'and Bass', c'mon... c'mon...) Slash Man stands there, drip-drying, as he listens to the convo,
Twila Peterson refrains a glance towards Slash since he commented he shared those same concerns as the body guard. "Well..." she fumbles, "basically he threatened me, although it sounds like he's also being protective of you of course. But, he did say that if I ever hurt you...I''d be killed."
Dr. Wily hrms and says, "I shall have to speak with him." Wily's brow furrows. .oO(And also smack him for endangering my carefully laid plans...) Wily smiles then and takes Twila's hand. "But fear not," he says, "For I shall ensure your safety, my love."
Slash Man says, "And I shall help all I can as well..."
Twila nods and breathes a sigh in reassurance. "Thank you, Albert. I feel safer already." She then pauses before asking, "But what if anyone else has such ideas?"
Dr. Wily hrms and says, "There had better not be..." Wily .oO(There's Bass, of course)Oo.
Slash Man .oO(Please let him tie them down and let us beat them... and please let him catch bass at it.)Oo.
Twila Peterson smiles a little easier. "Again...I can't begin to tell you how relieved this makes me feel. Especially with the wedding just a couple of days away now" She offers his hand a gentle squeeze and then reclaims it before stating, "And...I wanted to ask you this since last night was cut off aruptly. Can you tell me a little bit about the festivities surrounding the wedding? And...who's going to give me away?" She then slows in thought as she admits with some real feeling within her words, "My father's no longer living."
Dr. Wily hrms and nods to Twila, hugging her a bit. "Don't worry my dear," he says, "I think you shall be given away by Ballade...after I have my little 'talk' with him." Wily kisses her cheek. "As for the festivities, why, dancing and merely socializing. What else does one do at a wedding? Or am I so old-fashioned?" Wily laughs a bit.
Twila Peterson offers a small shrug with a cute smile. "Oh, old fashioned is just fine. I just wasn't really to aware is all. So...the wedding is in the ciry square. That also the place for the reception?"
Dr. Wily nods. "But of course. The public is invited to be assured. I want all my citizens to partake in my...happiness." Wily tries to beam in pride. Twila Peterson widens her grin. "So it *is* a city-wide event isn't it? I'm so excited." She looks down to the floor shyly for a bit, shuffling her feet. "What about the honeymoon. All your children would miss you dearly if we were away for too long. Are we...going on one?"
Dr. Wily shrugs. "Well, we are in the Caribbean, aren't we?" he says. "Why, Robotropolis is a resort in itself. What better place to be! Bwahahahahhaha!" Wily performs his bad-guy posturing and laughs.
Twila Peterson quirks a brow. Oh dear, this geezer is way too hopeless. "Oh, really?" she coos with a wistful sigh. "Too think...to be on a lifelong honeymoon. Rather poetic." She then blinks and gains a rather lopsided grin. "Hope you don't mind, but I redecorated your room...just to show you how special this means to me. Ya wanna see?"
Dr. Wily blinks and says, "Redecorated...my room?" Wily seems a tad shocked, but tries to cover it. "Show me...."
Twila Peterson takes his hand and gently pulls him along. "I'd *love* too, Hon. You're going to adore it. I'm sure you will." All it needs is a woman's touch.
<Soon...>
Skull Fortress - Wily's Quarters Redecoration(#3682p) Someone has obviously gone to the trouble of adding a small bit of a warm touch to the old man's quarters. Wily's quarters are still organized. They're just not as spartan and as they used to me. Drapery, wall hangings, (all in a very nice shade of blue), and framed photos of the natural world now adorn the walls of this humble abode. There are also quite a few stuffed teddy bears lying about. There is a small one sitting on the bed looking pretty while a second, his larger brother, reclines comfortably within the recliner. Another sits high on a bookcase. Also, by the computers there vases of an array of flowers. It's then that you notice something else...some of the books and various other items have all been...rearranged? What is all this? This is not how Dr. Albert Wily left his room originally is it?
Twila Peterson pulls the old doctor inside gently, and still bearing that young, child-like grin upon her features. "I really hope you like it. I think it really adds to everything. And such a rather adoring shade of blue...don't you think? And it didn't really take too long for me to find just the right color either. You like it?" she asks with widened eyes.
Dr. Wily walks into the room, stopping to a halt and looks about the room. His eyes dash about as he makes not of all the changes, looking at the teddy bears, the drapes, all of it. The sickening sweetness fills the void and Wily's jaw drops. "..." Wily.
Dr. Wily clutches his chest and begins to sag to the ground. "Chest...pains..." he rasps.
(Ch. C [None]) Dr. Wily transmits: 'SHE REDECORATED MY ROOM! SHE REDECORATED MY*ERK*CLUTCHES CHEST* ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!'.
Twila Peterson gasps a breath of air as she lowers herself right next to him. Oh, no...not again!! "Albert? Albert, what's wrong? You're heart, dear Albert? Take it easy. Breath in slow. I'll get the guards right outside the door...."
Dr. Wily falls to the ground, clutching his chest as his life flashes before his eyes. Wily tries to breath slowly, but continues to clutch his chest.
(Ch. C [None]) Astro Man transmits: 'Doctor? Doc?'. (Ch. C [None]) Dr. Wily transmits: '*fasping*'. (Ch. C [None]) Dr. Wily transmits: '*gasping*'. (Ch. C []) Yamato Man transmits: ' anyone have the masters location? his quarters maybe? I am on my way there...'
Twila Peterson tries to help the old man down as best as she can before calling out to the guards outside, "Get ready to take Albert to the doctor! His heart is failing him again!" she says sounding desperate. "Ok...easy now," she tones. "I know CPR. I know how to deal with this." She gets ready to try and lay him flat just in case his breathing actually stops...
Astro Man erks!!!
(Ch. C []) Yamato Man transmits: 'But am in robotropolis and it will take time...'. (Ch. C [None]) Astro Man transmits: 'I'm in his quarters now! Twila is here.....why don't we carry anything for these occasions?'.
Astro Man has his holopods do a through scan of the doctor to check his heart rate. Astro Man takes out a medical scanner and scans Dr. Wily.
Twila Peterson looks behind her as soon as the Masters begin arriving while mentally keeping check on the old man's condition. "He needs to be taken to the emergency room at the hospital fast. But do it gently or else you'll make him worse."
Astro Man looks to Yamato Man, "Get a stretcher from the repair bay, quick!" Astro Man looks to Twila, "Where's the hospital, you've been there before."
Twila Peterson placed a hand on the side of Wily's throat to keep track of his pulse. "Yeah...I've been there. It's in one of the middle class residential areas. 3rd and Cottmen if I recall right..."
Dr. Wily continues to clutch his chest and breath hard.
Astro Man paces back and forth, "Where's Yamato....he should have gotten that stretcher by now..."
Twila Peterson pauses to regard the old man. "It's ok. You'll be headed to the hospital soon where the doctors will take care of you," she says as her medic's instincts take over, keeping close watch on his breaths. She then asks, Astro, "Is there any oxygen that he can be given?"
Astro Man says, "Most of the facilities here are to accommodate android patients.....I doubt if there is a receptionist here."
Twila Peterson mutters something under her breath. "Well, probably be best if it be considered." She then starts to step away from the scientist so the other two can loud him on. "Ok...place him on...carefully..."
Astro Man leans down, and slides the stretcher under Wily, then uses his anti-gravity systems to hover it above the ground, then securing Dr. Wily in so he does not slip out.
(Ch. C [None]) Skull Man transmits: 'Why are things not be taken care of?! I'm on my way now.'
Astro Man looks to Twila, "You'll have to come with me as well...just brace yourself."
(Ch. C [None]) Astro Man transmits: 'I have the situtation in hand.'.
Twila Peterson nods towards the android, but wonders just how she's to be...prepared. "Uh...yeah...ok..."
Astro Man causes her to become weightless with his anti-gravity systems.
<Not long after...>
Robotropolis - Middle Class Housing District As you come down the road from your previous destination, you cannot help but marvel at the perfect sense of peace and harmony this portion of Robotropolis creates in your heart. The entire area is filled with small, quaint housing, perfect for any family attempting to raise 2.5 kids, or beyond that scale. Children laugh as they play in their yards, not a drug pusher or gang member in site. Pets sit on their porches, sunning themselves in Robotropolis' perfect climate. The entire area proves to be ideal to anyone who comes upon it. Cars in each driveway show the modest prosperity of each individual dwelling. And guess what? Even a few houses are still for sale. Hmmm...could you be interested in making your home in the grand capital that is Robotropolis?
(Ch. C [None]) Skull Man transmits: 'Top speed Astro Man! His power pump will be weakened after being just recently repaired so recently...'.
Astro Man stops in the front lobby of the hospital, having contacted the medics ahead of time to prep the emergency room for the doctor.
The medics quickly get him inside and hook him up to a respirator while one performs CPR to get his heartbeat going at a steady pace once again. Well...that was quite an experience. The hospital soon comes into view. Then, sooner done then said, Twila finds the three in the hospital only to have the dear ole doctor be rushed to emergency. "Oooooo, I hope he'll be alright," she whines with a sniffle. "I didn't realize how of fragile health he was..."
Astro Man sighs, waiting out in the lobby, "I didn't either...he was always in such good health before."
Two visits in such a short time from the Grim Reaper himself running around and yelling in the hospital invoke much the same reactions as they did last time... The staff will have more than one heart attack to attend to this night. As receptionists and nurses point and stare wide-eyed rather than answering his questions, he becomes increasingly frustrated, finally nearly chinning a Medical Droid with a blast from his plasma cannon. One brave soul, or maybe just one who was also here last time, finally lets him know of the good doctor's whereabouts and condition.
Twila Peterson folds her arms over her chest to hug herself. "Maybe it's all the stress....especially with the wedding and all. He's taking care of everything. But...maybe it's all too much for him to handle..."
Skull Man storms up to the given whereabouts, not having entirely believed the condition and intending to see for himself that everything possible is being done.
Twila Peterson jumps slightly at the blast to find the usually charming Skull Man. She appears increasingly worried and hopes something is found out soon. "The wedding...must be it. Pre-Wedding jitters..."
Astro Man says, "Jitters? That's an understatement."
Wily is being taken into a room and being set up and such. He's stabilized now and is breathing soundly, the heart monitor steady and strong for the good doctor. He breathes and mumbles a few words, muttering about his room.
Astro Man says, "Don't worry, Ms. Peterson...I'm sure the doctors are stabilizing his condition as we speak."
Skull Man looks about annoyed, frustrated, angry, and also concerned- a nice little group of emotions quite difficult to display, considering that the only part of humanity revealed beneath his unchanging helmet is his eyes and a bit around them.
Twila Peterson is within the lobby, pacing back and forth. "I sure hope so, Astro." She then perks her head up, gazing at the android. "It's just...this is the second time in how many days..."
Skull Man screams at the nurse, but nonetheless is not allowed entrance to see the good doctor. He doesn't seem at all pleased by this, and makes the point clear by raising his arm cannon to her.
Astro Man nods slowly, "I never expected his health to take a turn for the worst. This is definitely a time to take some further precautions."
Constance Wily hurries out of a robotaxi, only stopping long enough to take back her credit card. Bustling through the doorway, she looks around frantically. "Oh, I just heard the awful news! Where is my son? Where is Alby?"
Drill Man runs into the hospital looking around for the doc.
Twila Peterson hurries over to the older lady. "He was taken into emergency a little while ago. But none of us have been told anything since. But I'm sure the doctor's here doing their best."
Astro Man looks to Constance, "He's being taken care of now by the doctors, Ms. Wily. I assure you they're doing everything possible to make sure his condition is stable." His voice sounds more like a shy and nervous bot instead of some of the usual voice programs a Robot Master would have.
One of the doctors's nears the group with data pad hand. It's quite easy for him to see just whose Wily's bunch at any rate. So in that be grateful. he heads right up to them and nears the closest individual. "You all for Dr. Albert Wily?"
Skull Man turns back from the young woman, eyes still an inferno, and proclaims with far more force than necessary. "I am."
Twila Peterson steps back from Skull Man a little while the doctor audibly gulps and ventures somewhat nears. "Alright. Here it is. He had another attack within the 3rd chamber just as he did two nights ago. However, it wasn't as severe thanks to the quick response this time. He's now stabilized and can now receive visitors...but only a limited amount. It wouldn't be well to get him excited again." He pauses and then adds, "He's in Room 118 if you....or anyone else within the group would like to see him."
Twila Peterson raises her hand up somewhat timidly and begins to step forward, gesturing to Constance. "I would as I'm sure his mumsy would as well."
Skull Man points furiously to Twila with his one black-gloved hand. "Not her. She's the cause of it." Skull Man says, "And the last one."
Constance Wily finally spots a familiar face, Twila. She hustles over, nearly on the verge of tears with worry. "What's going on?"
The doctor stops to blink at the Master. "The cause? How do you mean? Purposely?"
Skull Man says, "It was her. First she spent his money, then she redecorated his room." Skull Man is totally unaware of how foolish he sounds, proclaiming them like first degree murder and grand theft auto.
Twila Peterson offers the older woman a gentle hug. "It's your son. Albert's heart gave out again. but he'll be alright. They have him stabil---" She abruptly cuts off as soon as she over hears the Master and offers him a blank look. "You're...accusing me of this? Why would I want to hurt him?"
Skull Man ignores Twila and Constance, awaiting the doctor's reply with silent fury.
Constance Wily grits what few teeth she has left and suddenly draws back with the cane she's always carrying. "Must be a malfunction, dear." And with that statement, she cracks Skull over the noggin with the hard steel end.
The doctor just...blinks. "Um....that doesn't spound like...an attempt of murder..." he stammers, gazing up at the hulking Master just before he's bapped. "Now...if you'll excuse me..." he stated all too quickly before rushing away...
Twila Peterson just sorta stares at Skull Man before turning back to the doctor's mother. "Want me to take you too your son?" she asks, sweetly as soon as she lowers that cane.
Skull Man, who was paying no attention to either of Wily's female visitors, is knocked unexpectedly off balance by the attack even from the weak old woman and ands up smacking against the wall... Something is definitely going on inside him at this point, because a sound similar to that of soldering can be heard and a thin trail of smoke rises from the back of his head.
Dr. Wily continues to sit in his room, waiting for you peons. ;) What...no television? Cheap hospital... :)
Constance Wily humphs. "If there's one thing I can't stand, it's an uppity machine. Now tell me, where is my son?"
Astro Man looks towards Twila, "Well...you'd know what room they'd have ready for him, perhaps you should lead the way?" He asks carefully.
Twila Peterson places a hand on the woman's shoulder. "Here. I'll help you find his room. Come on..." she says gently as she begins leading the odd group down the corridor and to the scientist's room. "This must be it," she states as they draw near. She pushes the door open and peeks in. "Albert...you awake?"
Dr. Wily turns his head over towards Twila, and the heart monitor picks up a few beats. Nothing of major worry...yet. He raises his hand. "Twila...Mumsy..." Trapped with two vile women...oh, what did he do to deserve this horrid fate? Is asking to rule the world too much.
Twila Peterson pushes the door open further and allows his dear ole mumsy to go in first before she too enters. "You had us worried for a bit there..."
Astro Man floats in carefully behind the two, just to make sure nothing else happens to make him have another heart attack.
Constance Wily pushes the door right open when she hears the voice, storming through the doorway and looking around as if in mortal fear. Her only son is in danger, and mumsy's here to save the day. Under her arm is a package wrapped in a shawl.
Dr. Wily looks at Twila and Constance and coughs a bit. "Nothing...just the shock of how...taken you are by me," he says, forcing a smile and keeping himself from reaching forward and strangle Twila. Oh LORD how he wants to strangle the life from this she-demon, this femme fatale, and this woman who seems to be attempting to end his life at every turn.
Constance Wily hustles up to the bed, suddenly throwing her arms around Wily. "Don't you do this again! You scared the life out of me!"
Twila Peterson smiles adoringly towards the old scientist and offers a small sniffle. "You'll be alright then?" Dr. Wily arghs as he's hugged. "Mother...heart...can't....breathe...," he says and nods desperately to Twila.
Astro Man looks towards the doctor as he's loosing vital oxygen, "Please...Ms. Wily, I think your son might need some space to breathe."
Twila Peterson steps forward to try and pry the sweet old lady back. "Remeber...gently," she reminds Constance, but also in a way not to offend her.
Constance Wily lets him go, but reluctantly. Then she waves her finger under his nose. "See? What did I tell you about take out and fast foods? They're unhealthy and bad for you." She unwraps the package she's been carrying. "Look, I brought your favorite, tuna casserole!"
Flash Man walks into the area and notices a short-circuiting Skull Man. He approaches his comrade to investigate, "What happened to you?"
Twila Peterson quells a smirk as she gazes at the meal. "Smells delicious. You must be an awfully good cook, Mrs. Wily."
Skull Man says, "Girl... she... I..."
Astro Man winces towards Skull Man's condition, and is not going to try and say anything to upset the good doctor's mother. Not that he's the type of Master to do so.
Skull Man's speech is quite garbled, and not much can be made out. His head twitches once to the side and returns. His legs are sprawled out on the floor, and he's slumped against the wall, much to the relief of the hospital staff- They are already dealing with several patients who have complications to bad conditions do to induced heart attacks and trauma.
Constance Wily says, "I try, child. I was even able to get some help in the kitchen."
Dr. Wily erks at the tuna casserole. Not really his favorite, but better than that hospital food. "Um....thank you, mumsy," he says, taking the dish and beginning to eat some from it, gobbling it down like a pig. Boy, when a bachelor leaves his house, he really does forget his manners.
Twila Peterson oooohs. "A kitchen? The castle has a kitchen now? Maybe we better team up to make some cookies!" Twila practically beams....and then blinks as Wily digs into his dinner. What is it with men? They could be saved from death due to medical trauma and eat like a horse just an hour later.
Flash Man pokes his brother Skull with the arm cannon to see if his sibling is still somewhat functioning.
Constance Wily raps Wily across the knuckles with a fork. "Use your manners, Alby. I raised a child, not a pig. Here's the silverware I brought." Turning to Twila, she nods. "There's lots of room in the new kitchen, and only a few doors down from your bedroom. Isn't that nice?"
Skull Man kicks Flash Man in the face with the tip of his bone-white boot.
Twila Peterson claps her hands together, letting out a delighted squeal. "Wow! I can hardly wait to see it. I absolutely adore to cook." She doesn't mention a particular person she usually cooks for however...it doesn't seem perfectly moot at the moment. "Maybe show me when you get back? I've been in the city lately just to see all the sights and sounds too much to really notice the kitchen I guess...."
Flash Man acks and falls flat on his aft. He growls and smacks his brother on the back of his head.
Dr. Wily stops eating as he takes the fork and rubs his head. "But mumsy..." He stops and thinks. "Wait...did this room happen to be filled with robotic pieces, chemicals and Bunsen burners, mother?" He narrows his eyes as his suspicions are about to be confirmed.
Astro Man looks towards the conversation, then Wily....then he looks out towards the hallway, "Ummm.....Nurse?" Astro Man knows exactly what is going to happen next.
Skull Man's head falls forward, giving a clear view of the smoke leaking upward from the triangular vent in back, and he doesn't bring it back up. Who or what in a /hospital/ could have done this to him? What a weak Master.
Constance Wily says, "Yes, I do believe so. But that nice boy you assigned to help me out said it would be fine, and to just pitch anything that we didn't need."
Twila Peterson smiles softly. "Bass...such a loving son, wouldn't you agree Albert?"
Astro Man .oO( I always knew Bass was worried that Wily might be developing any replacements for him, guess he's just trying to get rid of any suspected competition.)Oo.
Dr. Wily's jaw drops. "Bass," he mutters, squeezing his fork so hard his knuckles turn white. He looks back up to his mother and says, "Mumsy, how sweet of you to prepare this...dish for me..." Wily rolls his eyes a bit and continues, "Are you sure you wouldn't rather be seeing the sights? Why, I'm sure you can't stay with me that long..."
Constance Wily says, "No, I'm staying right here to take care of you. I thought about getting an apartment close to the hospital..."
Flash Man tries to fix his brother. He tampers with some circuitry but is interrupted by an abrupt shower of sparks. He stands up and realizes it to be best not to tamper with Skull Man's neural wires.
Twila Peterson notes with a sulk, "I'll prolly be lead back to the quarters. But..." *pause* "I can bring that big teddy bear for you to keep you company when I visit ya next. You saw...the one in the recliner...with that big *blue* bow..."
Astro Man looks towards Twila, "Err....maybe we better have the good doctor rest here for now, till we've reverted the decor--I mean till we're sure he's returned to health.
Dr. Wily blinks at his mother and facepalms a bit, shaking his head. "But mother...you should be enjoying your vacation, not worrying about me..."
Twila Peterson turns towards Astro, giving those woeful puppy-dog eyes. "But I just wanna help..."
Constance Wily says, "You redecorated? How nice. I always thought Alby's tastes were a bit on the odd side. But you know how children are..."
Twila Peterson then returns her gaze back to Constance. "Oh, yes. Blue drapings, blue wall hangings, and teddy bears. I thought it would be kind...ya know...cute."
Astro Man winces to himself. .oO( If the doctor liked cute, don't you think we'd look a whole lot different? Then again....I look like a giant weeble.)Oo.
Constance Wily says, "For a baby's room, I hope?"
Dr. Wily shakes his head and place it under his cover. "I'm going to sleep...."
Drill Man grumbles to himself as he listens to the conversation.
Twila Peterson suppresses a wince. "Hmmmmm....maybe..." she just about sing-songs. "Anyway...we better let Albert rest now. Hopefully see you sometime tomorrow? You just have to see the dress I picked out..." She then turns to the scientist and makes a soft kissing sound. "Night. Sweet dreams..."
Constance Wily says, "Oh, I'd love to. Are you going to be Ok, Alby?"
Dr. Wily looks over at Constance and says in a desperate voice," Yes mother... I'll be fine. Will please attend to my Robot Masters and make sure they behave? I shall be out in the morning..."
Constance Wily gives Wily a loving pat on the head. "I'll be sure and have breakfast ready for you, then." Then she gives him a kiss and turns to Twila. "Ready to go, dear?"
Twila Peterson nodnods readily. "Ready, Mrs. Wily. I'm so glad Albert is blessed with such a Mom as you."
Dr. Wily . o O (I'm SURE you are.) ;>
