Reb, the second to emerge from cryo, is the captain "by default", even though his "official" duty is engineer. This stems partly from the fact that his knowledge of the systems enables him to preempt actions he thinks are inappropriate. He tends to lean away from blindly attacking and more to systematic methods, plans.

There have been many signs of a slight attraction between him and Yuna (Reflections, Refugee, Infestation).

Earlier in their mission, there were a lot of conflicts between him and Bren because of their different tactics, and him and Yuna, because of her resentment of his take-charge attitude.
